Avalon and ASICMiner are the 2 biggest ASIC players right now. Depending on how fast BFL can get the 50/60GH miners out the door will determine the difficulty.
Minimum 8x what we have now. If BFL pumps them out it could be 500 million by August.

I thought about that and put in 2TH for non asics getting turned on in the last month which is a LOT when you figure it out. So, I do not believe you can make a credible argument for 10-12TH/s of GPUs and FPGAs getting turned on in the last 30 days. It took two years to turn on 18TH/s of these.
Actually, yes, it is most likely GPUs. You failed to look at the right historical data. Between May and July 2011, we went from ~1 Thash/s to ~15 Thash/s in just 2 months, and it was 99% GPUs. Because the Bitcoin bubble and publicity is even more intense this time, it is not only plausible, but IMHO the most likely explanation, that 10-12 Thash/s of GPUs went online. But that means there are 25,000 more cards out there so thousands of new miners. Does the data on how many people are users on each pool support this? Is there any way to check? Look at the violin graphs on OOCs pool review posts. |

I dont think GPU's can account for extra 25TH.... Well all I am concerned about is them dumping those coins before they ship out next batch. Also with both batches assembled could they not do 51% attack?  Technically if they wanted they could try a 51% attack. But to what end? Double send 2 BTC to somebody? What recipient would not wait for 6 confirmations and notice a fork when dealing with a large amount of coins? I think people oversimplify the ends of a 51% attack. |

If you wanna buy a 7770 and a 7950, that's fine. 7950s are not that far off for the the best bang-for-buck, and they're also not far off from the density of those 7970s, so there's a reason you see all kinds of people building 4x 7950 rigs, for both BTC and LTC.

I tried the newer 8+6 pin ones and they were decent for LTC but sucked compared to the Sapphire Dual-X for BTC mining.

Yes BFL cannot be blamed for people who want a refund in BTC paid - you can't use a purchase as a hedge against foreign exchanges. They can blame BFL for poor planning on their miner hardware deployment secondary to BFL's, uh how did you word it, "fallacious statement" - of which I believe you were responsible for later on in 2012. I have yet to see you apologize even once for the delays the BFL suffered, whether intentional or not. Can't you for just one time say you hurt people? Or does that admit to liability to be used in court? So once again, you boil it down to what every other troll really trolls with. You basically have nothing else. "BFL is late." Yep, BFL is late. i saw post before josh said the BFL can produce 400 unit per day .
And I can drive 1400 miles/day in a car but I'm not doing that. BFL has shipped about 25 jalapenos per Jody in the last 5 business days. It may be a while before they can ramp up to 400. And nobody knows how many orders they have. If they have 40K worth of units ordered then that's at least 100 days assuming all units are same amount of assembly time. |

This argument is beyond retarded. It's the same trolls over and over (I'm looking to you, Smoothie). It's not BFL's fault that people didn't choose to invest in bitcoin instead of a pre-order of an ASIC miner. Nobody had any knowledge, let alone a guarantee that the bitcoin exchange rate was going to rocket off like it did in such a short amount of time. Some people bet wrong, and didn't make as much money. boo hoo.
The same argument can be made on ANY investment, with the benefit of hindsight. "Well, if you'd just bet on the winning team, you wouldn't have lost the bet. So clearly the losing team owes the bettor some winnings!" Um. no.

The number of coins "lost" by betting on BFL is irrelevant. You could have turned that money into billions, if you'd been able to read the future. If you'd gone out and bet all your money on the WINNING team, you could've been rich by now!" It takes a special kind of stupid to use hindsight in your argument. Clearly BitSyncom visits here daily, and he will see this thread. Posting more about it won't make the response come any faster. I have a Batch 3 I'm sitting on, and that won't ship until Batch 2 ships. But it is out of my hands... and hopefully out of Yifu's hands....literally (well in a month maybe - a girl can dream...)
