6482  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: 🍀🍀 Bounty kampanje Altcoin – Signature, Telegram 🍀🍀 on: April 07, 2020, 11:10:14 AM
I naravno ChipMixer  Grin.

@slackovic
6483  Other / Meta / Re: Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: April 07, 2020, 09:38:05 AM
Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity for the period February 28th - March 31st

As the last time, all data was taken from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard.

Number of posts in the period between February 28th  and March 31st

No changes at the top 3, Russian is still the most active local board by far, followed by German and Turkish boards, while French and Pilipinas changed the spots(French increased by almost 50% compared to the previous month, while Japanese board experienced even more drastic increase ). Few boards saw significant decrease in post quantity, like Romanian (had quite a few posts deleted) and Indonesian, that had approximately 50% decrease.

Number of merits in the period between February 28th and March 31st

As in the last month, Russian is still at the top of the merit list, but Turkish  board very close this month, mostly due Russian board having 25% decrease in merit distribution while Turkish staying almost the same as last month. Another very active local board, German, had even bigger merit decrease.

Merit/Post ratio

It is obvious that Romanian board sticks out here as a sore thumb, and its due  low post amount (additionally  incrsased by huge amount of deleted posts, compared to their activity0 in the combination with one big 50 merit transaction, that kinda "padded" their merit/post ratio. Another board that had big increase is Indonesian board, which was mainly affected by before mentioned decrease of posts in their board.

I just wanna mention again that these numbers shouldn't be taken too seriously, as there will be a lot of changes each month. A lot of things can change these numbers significantly, in both active boards and especially in those that have few dozens/hundreds posts.

To put things a bit more into perspective and to negate extremes a bit, i made another merit/post chart, this time for the period of last 3 months. First I wanted to make this chart for 6 months period, but some currently active boards would be excluded due high amount of deleted posts (e.g. Pilipinas board had 70k posts deleted between October and December), so I settled with 3 months. Even in this 3 month chart some had to be excluded due same reason, unfortunately.

6484  Local / Altcoins (Hrvatski) / Re: 🍀🍀 Bounty kampanje Altcoin – Signature, Telegram 🍀🍀 on: April 07, 2020, 08:09:39 AM

6485  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: April 06, 2020, 08:22:46 PM
Indeed, I was not someone who did not know a thing about crypto when I joined this forum. Quite the opposite. Indeed Rikafip, you remembered well - I'm running a Romanian crypto portal. I'm still learning though, as many still do. But it's not a fault to have a skillset, is it?
Of course that it is not your fault to have certain skillset/inclinations, but having it make it very easy for you to rank up on this forum. And what is easy for you might be very hard for someone else, and I really don't understand how can't you see that? Do you think it is smart thing to do, to base things like that on top 1% of the members?

I really don't see what would this forum gain from increasing merit and activity requirement 2x. That  increased  merit requirement could only lead to more merit abuse, and people would trade merit way more than they are now.  At the time when forums in general  ain't popular as they used to be, and while there are a lot of other platforms. After all, point of merit system was to stop shit posters and spammers, and not turning ranking up on this forum into heavy grind for an average user.

Now let's take another example: did you take a look at nullius?
You are taking things to extremes, using  one way way above average member as an example.  Equivalent of that would be using  bounty hunter shitposter with  400 activity, 5k posts in Bounty section and 0 merit as an example how hard it is to reach Jr Member rank.
6486  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: April 06, 2020, 07:36:31 PM
OP I think you should keep close attention to [CLUB] The SpamBusters... thread because with a lot of success we are investigating all sorts of abuse, especially bumping and other forms of spam.

There are constantly new ANN threads taking under the microscope and of course, many of them are obviously breaking the rules using alt accounts or bumping services.

I think it could be a good source of information to make this list of "ANN threads that are using bumping services" even more accurate.
Yeah I know about Spambusters, I've been active there for a few months now, since I started with spambusting/scambusting activities, and it is indeed a good place to  share findings and ask for advice. One of the few threads that are on my watchlist.

Update

Two announcement threads from the list changed their  status to "Inactive"
  • Crybet stopped with their bumping activities 2 weeks ago, soon after being busted for plagiarized content, accounts tagged and bunch of posts deleted
  • Cleobet decided to lock the thread, therefore no point being marked as active for now.
6487  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: April 06, 2020, 08:43:59 AM
2 announcement threads added to the list.

🛡️ Cleobet.io - New licensed Bitcoin sportsbook - 🎁 100% deposit bonus
As explained in this post, it is pretty obvious that they hired the service to promote/defend their project.

[ANN][AAB] AAX - The World’s First Digital Asset Exchange by LSEG Technology
I reported their activities in Spambusters thread. Basically, bunch of newbie accounts conveniently woke up after some time, and suddenly writing in AAX thread, having those classic fake conversations.

I might start changing status of some ANN on the list from active to inactive,  as few (e.g. Crybet) are giving up it seems, after getting posts deleted and accounts tagged.
6488  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: April 05, 2020, 05:27:26 PM
Given the above mentioned details, I still believe that the rank-up should be a bit more difficult.
What you keep forgetting is that an average bitcointalk user doesn't have experience of running crypto portal for a couple of years (I think  you mentioned somewhere that GazetaBitcoin is also Romanian crypto portal) and don't have adequate English level to translate texts to their native language, like you did for Romanian local board.

What might be easy for you, could be very hard for someone else without certain skillset. Just keep that in mind when asking to make something more. demanding.

Btw, congrats on merit achievement, well deserved my fellow cinephile!
6489  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cleobet: Another betb2b (1xbet/1xbit) clone - Flag to be supported on: April 05, 2020, 12:42:44 PM
I think the only one who can use a deep breath now is you..
Trading in Bitcointalk accounts. And now suddenly in this topic.
You are finished.
As i suspected, you didn't get the point of the post you just quoted, so i guess i have to explain it to you: I am the one who reported and tagged @Accountsbtalk for advertising the account sale, I am not the one selling those accounts. If you weren't that lazy and hasty, you would see archived post in that thread i created https://archive.ph/ahpXl .  Check @Accountsbtalk trust feedback, and see who tagged him back on January 18th.

Do you understand now?

Starting my own investigation. I find something really interesting. I will continue this investigation for sure, to proof
@Lauda quote really fits here
You have it all figured out. Big brain.

Take a deep breath and check again the post you just quoted. Pay attention to the archived post.

Have you guys noticed more and more newbie and/or very low rankend users are entering discussions in those ANNs of new bookies?
Few low ranked accounts (newbie-Member) that are writing on Cleobet ANN worked on several other threads known for hiring bumping services, so yeah, I think that you are onto something here. Like 2 buddies gsingh and Bitlend that just showed up today to defend Cleobet.

I had found this as a unique sport bet platform. Hope, it will be liked by many sport bet hunters. It also had a bonus program. Quite impressive
I don't know, why the people trying to mistrust this thread with a Newbie accounts.Kindly don't use your alt accounts to make a fake post and ruin this project.

And here they are working side by side on other  ANNs that hired bumping services

Flag supported!

edit: another account that worked with 2 previously  mentioned, vfrcbv91 jumped in to defend Cleobet. Time to add Cleobet on my list of ANN that are using bumping services.

I have a question regarding OP practice in recently created [ANN][AAB] AAX - The World’s First Digital Asset Exchange by LSEG Technology.

So, on top of answering each question separately ( mostly sock puppet accounts it seems, ill come to that part later) he is making 4-5 posts per day on his ANN, sharing various news, announcement etc. Few examples from today, he shared those in 30 minutes or so.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5236459.msg54160178#msg54160178

I know about 24 hour bump rule, my question is does it apply only when you don't have anything to share really and you just wanna bump your thread, or it applies in general?

Regarding sock puppets, so far i identified 9  newbie accounts that have few things in common (majority of them joined their bounty campaign too) and are showing standard m.o. of thread bumping with their fake conversations
  • Accounts are made between July 3rd and July 15th 2019
  • Inactive since 2019 and then suddenly  waking up when AAX appeared
  • Since waking up  they are writing exclusively in AAX ANN

Hey, what the fuck just happened https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237983.0 ? I'll support your flag if you support my, LOL!
Lol, i even checked before I started making this thread if there is one already in the scam accusation board as  I was certain that someone busted this obvious scam already, and I was surprised to see that there was none but it took me some finish it, couldn't archive damn Whitepaper. I guess I should have checked one more time before clicking "post" Cheesy

Gonna lock the thread and support your flag. And gj, as always!

What happened:  Rebitcoin plagiarized Libra Whitepaper. Not the smartest move, copying something well known as that project. On top of the plagiazried whitepaper, they also promise 48% monthly return through lending program.

6496  Economy / Reputation / Re: taufik123 and tk808 - abnormal action on: April 04, 2020, 01:48:40 PM
Well, if so, I believe we need to review how the sources of merit work  Cheesy there is no way that post are worth the merit  Roll Eyes Two post above are the posts that any spammer can say, not worthy of any merit, I don't mean to offend, but it is my personal opinion. Merit should be given in a more proper and worthy way, a source of merit should be responsible for it  Wink
When merit source (or any other user with extra smerits) sees some user that has  history of decent/constructive posts, he may give bigger amount of merit  to some not so extraordinary post. Especially if that user has enough activity and needs more merit to reach next rank (like taufik123). Even theymos said that is ok to give a lot of merit to some post if that will help good poster to rank up. Or something similar along those lines, I can't remember exactly.
6497  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another ANN bumping group+ Interesting merit transfers on: April 04, 2020, 01:08:35 PM
Then there's a who 'nother farm in the IndexChain thread... looks like there was a lot of merit purchasing going on from MalReynolds (who was negged for merit selling a while back). I'm getting a bit tired and I have to go back to work so I asked Alex_Sr if he could take a look at it, because he is good at this stuff.
Now when you mentioned merit purchasing, look at the 5 newbie accounts that got 1 merit each from Basorexia:

Kilkalika000 registered on March 29th 2020 and made 15 posts so far, out of that, 14 are in Russian language, and only 1 in English-the one merited by Basorexia

eR4 registered back in October 2019, but he was inactive until  March 29th 2020 . So far he made 36 posts; 33 are in Russian, 2 are bounty reports, and 1 is in English- merited by Basorexia

KIRI44442 also registered in October 2019, but he was also inactive until March  29th. He made 15 posts; 14 in Russian, 1 in English- exactly the one merited by Basorexia

zanoza1924 registered on March 29th 2020, and so far he  made 12 posts; 11 in Russian, 1 in English, and the one that got merit from Basorexia

Marfolone  registered on March 22nd but he was inactive until March 30th .He made 17 posts; 16 in Russian and 1 in English. Only his first post ever was in English, and the one that got merit from Basorexia, after that he only writes in Russian local board.

Again coincidences, all accounts  started being active on March 29th/March30, write exclusively in Russian, but only merit they got is for their single post in English from a single user  (Kilkalika000 being exception as he got 1 more merit for his single  English post)

This practice will certainly never stop if thread owners are not flagged. I believe we can not apply a singular stance, that is flag all threads or not flag all threads. We should evaluate each case individually. For the projects that were linked, there is nothing to indicate any kind of strong legitimacy or autonomy that would make it unlikely that they hired these people. I am not asking for opinions on a general stance, but rather these particular cases!
I might misunderstood your previous post, but yeah i agree with what you said, it should be done on a case by case basis, and I'll take a look at it. Since 99% of all projects are pure bs, chances are good  that something can be found.
6498  Economy / Reputation / Re: Another ANN bumping group+ Interesting merit transfers on: April 04, 2020, 09:49:56 AM
Tagging shortly. Good work!
Flags supported.

I noticed something fishy about this account a while back, too.

On March 20, account cryptogod322 made a lackluster post in the WO thread, for which he received 4 merits from Pastrana (not a WO regular):

I thought maybe that was his first post in the WO, but I was wrong, he had one 2 days earlier for which he received 6 merits from Basorexia:

...
Its not the worst post to be meriting, but the fact that this user was sent exactly 10 merits in 2 days (in order to reach Member status) is kind of bizarre.
This becomes pattern really, sending just the right amount of merit needed  for rank up, and it happened to 6 accounts mentioned here (Pastrana,  6eTxoBeH, Drugs?, Oprah , cryptogod322 and kiid).

This user received 30 merits from Basorexia and was banned a few days ago. He opened this thread, which received 10 merits from Basorexia and 3 merits from Oprah. There appears to be many, many more accounts involved in this farm. They likely all belong to the same person, and thus are all ban evading.
I had no idea that Aleksandr_ov has been banned already, thanks  for that. Yeah this looks like a much bigger group of accounts, and thanks to that anniversary contest they managed to rank up quite a few accounts. It is reasonable to assume that they are all controlled by same person and therefore case of ban evading, but it is a bit harder to prove that without same address use.

I think we should tag them as well, given the circumstances. Even if you take a brief look you can conclude that it is all fraudulent, for example "Blockchain 5.0" (no such thing exists and indicates a scam). Opinions?
So far i was reluctant to do that as i noticed from older and more experienced members that they don't do that for ANN that hire bumping services unless they have other proof of scam, but maybe this is exactly what is needed, in order for them to stop. I would like to hear  opinions about this issue as well.

It is more than obvious they are all connected for bumping crap on altcoin section.
Yep, it is the obvious case of the thread bumping group, as its simply too much similarity in their post history to be just a coincidence. They follow each other around on the same threads, and for some Ann list is even longer than I showed on the screenshot. Another coincidence that I just noticed is that 6/8  accounts  that are in this bumping group +Basorexia were last active on April 1st.

Regarding possible merit abuse, that thing is harder to prove. Maybe someone else can see additional pattern here, or some other connections.
