662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Brasileirão 2023 - Brazilian Championship Serie A on: December 07, 2023, 11:32:02 PM
Botafogo was a self-destruct. Never seen anything like it that a team leads the league by so many points and that in last 11 round i think dont win a single match. I dont know what happened to them but it looks like they just didnt want the title and Palmeiras took that opportunity and won the title.

Certainly the best thing that could happen for Botafogo was to hope that the championship ends soon, before it falls even further to the point of even being relegated Tongue

It's in fact, regrettable to see that the same team that had the best first round in the history of the championship also finished the competition outside the "Fisrt 4" and that will now need to face yet another challenge to try to qualify for the Conmebol Libertadores in the next year.

I'm happy for Internacional, it's my favorite team, but I understand the disappointment of Botafogo players and fans who went through complete mental and psychological destruction with this last result, but I think it's inevitable.

As I said... the best thing for Botafogo is that the championship is over, they can "go home", cool down, prepare better for next year and try for better results.

I don't think anyone can really explain what happened to Botafogo in 2023 Roll Eyes
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 07, 2023, 11:22:46 PM
I'm just wondering how crypto casinos are able to cope with this high Tx fees..

Casinos never lose money!

At least one of two.... they recover the value lost on the Bitcoin network, for example, with the "inflated" fees of other networks where the transfer is almost free. The other way to compensate for these losses is by blocking the player's value until he meets some wagering requirements, which in most cases will certainly cover the costs of any withdrawal fees that the player may make later if he has still won a prize. .

Remembering that these congested network moments are still quite seasonal, with casinos operating at a profit at these transfer rates for most of the year.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 11:16:47 PM
If you work as a staff member in a physical casino as a dealer or in a sports bookie, I know that there are subtle ways you can use to encourage responsible gambling that will not go against the terms and conditions for staff.

For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?

What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling?

I wouldn't say anything at all!
It must be fascinating to be able to work in a casino, even more so as a dealer... meeting lots of different people, often some famous ones, being able to witness various memorable events that happen in games... why would I want to take the risk of throwing that away? ?

Every player needs to know their limits and be responsible for their actions, it is not up to a casino employee to warn them of this.

Furthermore, we don't know the profile of the person playing, whether they really started betting low because they would know what they were doing or if that's all they had that night. Have you ever thought about whether the player rebels and "reports" the employee!?
665  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: [0,001 BTC] Qual será o preço do Bitcoin no final de 2023? on: December 07, 2023, 12:16:45 AM
43.400,00 USD — @alegotardo

667  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Itaú começa a oferecer compra e venda de BTC e ETH on: December 07, 2023, 12:06:42 AM

668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: December 06, 2023, 11:43:02 PM
The race calendar for 2024 season is already out! It looks like we will have more races next time. We had 22 races this season but this time there are 2 more. Of course it is still early to talk like all of these races will be held without problems. But hopefully we can watch as many races as possible next season.  Smiley

It looks like a quite tight schedule at the end especially. The last 6 races are very close to each other and it would be quite tiring for teams and drivers. But for us the spectators it would be a feast!  Grin

It will probably be another season dominated by Verstappen however I would like to watch some more progress by other top teams.

In fact, we were still in July, halfway through the championship, when the F1 management came forward and released the outline of the 2024 calendar.... unless they changed something, it had been pre-defined that there would be 24 stages with two races on Saturday, the next championship would start in March 2024 (I'm not sure if this still holds) and the promise was to also hold the Chinese GP, which was absent from F1 for three years due to restrictions caused by the local government in response to the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to the rescheduling of some other stages such as those in Japan, Azerbaijan and Qatar from their traditional dates.
I'm Brazilian, and I also remember that the São Paulo GP is scheduled for the beginning of November Tongue
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 06, 2023, 11:36:54 PM
In my opinion, Felix is not of Barcelona quality. If you have scored 2 goals in 12 games and have such bad statistics as a striker, if he cannot be permanent in Barcelona, Atletico Madrid may not want him and I think he may now turn his route towards Saudi Arabia. Even though he is 24 years old, he is far from showing the required performance.

This is not just about him scoring as a striker that he is but also about how many assists and contributions he has provided for his club in the front position that he plays from. If a player has only one quality in football and cannot play from different positions, it becomes hard for the coach to play them when they need them to play versatile. His number of goals doesn’t matter now, what matters is bringing him to the club as a permanent deal player since the coach already knows what he possess and can easily fix him in at anytime.

Exactly! A good player is not only scored on goals, but also on his performance so that the team can achieve its expected results.

In any case, Barcelona beat Atlético de Madrid at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium and with this result Xavi's team rose to 3rd place in the championship... and the great character of the game was João Félix who, as we all saw, scored a goal against his former team.

I believe his performance at Barcelona will be better than Atlético's... I believe he will have more "space" to make his moves and finish with shots on goal.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beginner needs your advices in gambling. on: December 06, 2023, 11:31:40 PM
Do you think Me starting gambling would effect me in my real life or make me addicted to gambling. What’s you suggestion and advices.

It depends on some factors...
The first and most important is conditioned on the answer you give to this question:

What is your main goal with gambling, to have fun or to "get rich"?

If your answer is the second option, then you already have a 50% chance of becoming an addicted player, unfortunately.
However, if you have discipline and manage to impose limits on amounts and time with gambling, then you will probably never become an addicted gambler.

Good luck!

673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 03, 2023, 02:27:47 PM
I have always advised people not to take gambling seriously but I myself became heavily addicted to live blackjack from stake.com and kept winning and losing. In this case I will not blame the gambling site because they give live cards. I started the game with just $20 but gradually I got addicted to it and wanted to gamble and win bigger amounts by depositing bigger amounts. I lost $1700 playing this way then I decided to play with a much bigger amount and recover all the losses then quit gambling for this I borrowed 270000 BDT ($2180) from the bank and deposited there. But unfortunately I lost them. Now I am financially so weak that it has become very difficult to meet my family expenses and I owe the bank $2180 which will take me a long time to pay off. Now it will take about 2 years for my financial situation to be normal again. Gambling addiction set back my normal life by 2 years. I am a victim of real experience and I am sharing my real experience with you.  Don't make the same mistake I did.  And never decide to gamble with a loan. If you do, your situation may be similar to mine. so beware of gambling

I'm so sorry for your loss!

I know that even responsible players sometimes "lose their minds" in gambling games and know that this can happen to anyone.
Fortunately, you were able to realize your mistake, even if it was late, and you have the ability to recover financially even if it takes a long time.

However, there are people who are unable to do the same... people who compromise the cost of rent or basic everyday bills and thus ruin their entire lives because of gambling.
As a consequence, financial loss is the least of the problems, as this can destroy entire families, compromise mental health and even cause the person to indulge in other addictions such as alcohol or drugs.

Good luck in your recovery!
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm looking for sites with good sports predictions on: December 03, 2023, 02:20:47 PM
Please recommend good sites with quality sports predictions and detailed analyses of predictions

I wouldn't want to mention any specific site, as the OP was too broad...
It largely depends on the type of sport you want to bet on and also the championships you are following.
An analysis site that may be good and quite accurate for football may be terrible for tennis, for example.
In addition to these ready-made analysis sites, I also really like following tips from commentators and opinions from other people who don't bet, people who simply do their analysis out of passion for the sport without the commitment of trying to make money from it, I think this type of analysis is very important.

Anyway... some sites help, but they cannot be the basis of your bet.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: December 03, 2023, 02:16:16 PM
Let's discuss the unique challenges of responsible gambling in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto gambling can be fun, but it's important to keep our financial boundaries intact.

Share your tips and thoughts on staying responsible in this digital realm.

Ok... this is a subject that has already been debated a lot here but it's always good to remember some basic tips...

Define your financial limits.
Before you start playing, it is crucial that you set a maximum value for your bets, whether daily, weekly or monthly, but this cannot affect your income. Determine an amount you are willing to spend and never exceed these limits, this way you avoid the risk of spending more than what you could lose.

Set time limits
It's not enough to just set a maximum spending amount, you also need to be aware of how much time you spend playing. Avoiding spending consecutive hours betting prevents you from suffering from the mental and emotional exhaustion that will certainly compromise your bets. So, set a suitable period of time for your gaming activities and remember to engage in other activities outside this period that are beneficial to your mental and physical health.

Know the rules and probabilities
Before you start betting, it is essential to understand the rules of the game and the probabilities involved. Familiarize yourself with the different types of bets, understand how odds work and be aware of the risks associated with each type of bet. The more informed you are, the better your gaming decisions will be.

Bet only what you can afford to lose.
Responsible betting means betting only the money you can afford to lose without compromising your personal finances. Never use money intended for essential expenses, such as bills, rent or food. Keeping your personal finances secure is paramount, regardless of the outcome of the bets.

Avoid chasing losses
Losing is part of the game, and it is essential to accept that. Never try to recover your losses by betting large amounts of money. Chasing losses can lead to a vicious cycle and put your financial and emotional health at risk. Remember that gambling is a form of entertainment and be prepared to accept both wins and losses.
676  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Monark anuncia candidatura a presidência do Brasil, Paulo Kogos como vice on: December 02, 2023, 01:23:10 AM

677  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Mixers serão proibidos no Bitcointalk a partir de 2024 on: December 02, 2023, 01:14:49 AM

678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 02, 2023, 01:08:02 AM
Quote
Guideline 1: Gamble no more than 1% of household income
Don’t bet more than 1% of your household income before tax per month. For example, someone with a household income of $70,000 before tax should gamble no more than $58 per month.

Recently I decided to risk only 1 percent of my gambling portfolio into each bet. This makes my bet risk free as I know that even if I lose the bet i will lose only 1% of my gambling money.

Honestly, I think 1% is a very ridiculous amount.
I agree that it could be ideal, but it's like any other recommendation we receive that ultimately ends up not being practical, such as:
Do not eat more than a pinch of salt per day;
Don't drink more than 1 can of beer per week;
Exercise 3 times a week;
Don't spend more than 1% of your income on gambling.....

In an illusory world this would indeed be ideal, but in practice few people follow this as a rule because it is very difficult or very exaggerated.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 02, 2023, 01:03:48 AM
But, in a broader sense, can you make gambling a career path, abandoning all other sources of income to focus entirely on it?
If so, why?
If not, please advise!

I disagree with you.
Gambling has many risks involved, the profit margin is certainly large but there is a huge potential for it to "go bad" at any time.
I could even accept the hypothesis that an excellent poker player uses his skills to win money consistently, because in that case he would be counting much more on his skills than on luck, and thus reducing the risks.
But I still wouldn't recommend this "profession to anyone".

As with any investment activity, there are risks associated with making betting the only source of income and some of these risks include:

  • Financial dependence: Betting regularly can lead to dependence, which can result in financial difficulties if bets are not paying off as expected;
  • Winning volatility: Betting winnings can be highly volatile, which can lead to periods of meager winnings or even losses;
  • Lack of employment benefits: As a bettor, you are essentially self-employed. This means you will not be entitled to employment benefits such as paid vacation, health insurance, and retirement;
  • Financial stress: The stress of relying on gambling to pay the bills can be emotionally draining and even harmful to your health.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: December 02, 2023, 12:55:34 AM
I don't think much problem faced Brazil national team right now regarding have loss in last three qualifier matches, CONMEBOL have many teams slot will qualify to World Cup and not difficult yet how Brazil will back to the top performance and get finish under Argentina position when last qualifier match. Difference teams level between Europe and CONMEBOL I don't sure Brazil will have the same thing with Italy fail qualify to last world cup edition on 2022.
Brazil have two points left from Venezuela and not much problem by winning one match later automatically Brazil will be on 4th standings, left many qualifier match on CONMEBOL zone and I don't think so much with Brazil will difficult qualify to World Cup 2026 because they have many top young talented in their squad.

Yes!
FIFA has "capricious" the number of places for teams that will qualify for the World Cup and I also doubt that Brazil will be left out of them, but it is undeniable to say that Brazil is in one of its worst moments....
After losing to Colombia and Argentina, Brazil fell to 5th place in the FIFA rankings, was overtaken by England and Belgium and reached its lowest position since August 2016.

I hope that under the command of a new coach in the next stage of the qualifiers, Brazil can recover these points and start playing well again and not just "qualify".

Out of curiosity... here is the FIFA top 10 ranking:
  • Argentina: 1855.2 points
  • France: 1845.44 points
  • England: 1800.05 points
  • Belgium: 1798.46 points
  • Brazil: 1784.09 points
  • Netherlands: 1745.48 points
  • Portugal: 1745.06 points
  • Spain: 1732.64 points
  • Italy: 1718.82 points
