battery problems such as durability

This was already vastly improved in just 10 years.   The biggest limitation I can think of is that getting close to 0% or 100% is damaging currently to the long term health.  Hence it should be avoided in the full use of a battery but that also means EV is more limited then the specs would suggest vs long range capabilities of oil based fuel vehicles.   However in time  Im confident the advances of the last decade will occur again  in future and we will see better batteries but also variation in their capabilities perhaps future batteries wont suffer the memory effect quite so much, faster recharge would be a big charge etc.  Its for certain that solar panels are improving so also EV is continuing to benefit from that advancement imo.
Biggest challenge to EV is ironically not the product itself but the infrastructure surrounding it, the ancient spread of electric wires across a country can be a problem.  If its possible to fix, that fix could take a decade anyway.

Rich man bored of his money might be more accurate a description since he is quite capable of betting all day if he likes and still being ok.   So long as he handled his prior earnings well he can spend the proceeds now however he wants.   I think its more about being an ex top sportsman who no longer has that challenge and adrenaline rush in his life anymore so he wants to bet and remain part of the game.   Hard to judge the man for how he chooses to spend his cash even if it seems excessive to the likes of us who are not millionaires with great incomes.
663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 21, 2023, 03:15:02 PM
Back above weekly average in the last couple days, good recovery.  42k was the low that mattered, if we continue to maintain that we might even attempt to dissemble the resistance above and gain further.   If we find no further reason to check lower prices this makes BTC very positive in trend, I do think we need this month and the weeks after that to confirm we have a good movement in continuation.   I wouldn't doubt BTC is positive at this point only that this was really not much of a pullback at all.
The gradient of the last couple months has been far faster move up then the rest of 2023 where some doubted we were even gaining as it varied from positive to flat.   I always doubt the more aggressive gains and look for a reset but it doesnt have to happen, we just have to be watching for it anyway imo.   Daily lows since Dec 11th, thats the line we need to not cross basically, do that & we keep the faith.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: December 20, 2023, 11:58:58 PM
The exclusion can be contested, someone pointed out that the news ironically could further help Trump gain the narrative of being suppressed and since its a common factor with every party and modern democracy that any candidate can lose from apathy a lack of people who actually turn up to cast their vote when required;  putting fire in the bellies of potential supports giving them a story to cast the good fight against etc.  this can actually help more then it will harm Trumps campaign.
Its nonsense but so is alot of modern politics in effect, you ask millions of people to decide complex decisions on various economic and international diplomatic factors completely outside their normal scope of interest and instead it can become a circus with arbitrary or emotional team voting.   Personally I find it hard to believe Trump can win yet last I heard its unlikely anyone can mass similar figures, thats why I think in a years time Biden/Democratic remains odds on favorite across the board.
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 20, 2023, 11:02:03 PM
I might intend to watch but not have time, I only have the time in the end to watch brief highlights and get the results.  Alongside a bet maybe the very brief interaction I have with that game is the best option I have at that point hence the bet enhances my limited involvement for which Im grateful.  If Iam able to watch the entire game then the bet is more of an option, sometimes I must watch the game in order that I may bet in future otherwise Im just guessing having never seen the performances in person.
666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 19, 2023, 11:59:44 PM
Better to argue there are no experts at all, since its not possible to have a certain outcome thats the most feasible conclusion imo.    In this regard since some of it is luck the biggest qualifier to being with expertise is experience, time served trades done and not going broke while doing so should qualify someone as with good enough experience to advise others on future moves.   Patterns of movement in every market will tend to repeat, never exactly the same but having seen the extremes of BTC before does go some way to helping justify a more certain prediction on its next move.
667  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: December 19, 2023, 11:32:16 PM
Generally Im a capitalist but the whole idea of insurance for being sick but also being lost if you should lose a job while ill in some way seems like a catch 22 situation.   Perhaps its not quite that simple as an example in its failure but something along those lines is often what occurs along the way.
People when healthy dont greatly need the insurance as much though its the easiest time to acquire the coverage, when they are ill its too late and they are then unable.  Its a bad setup and of course the counter argument is plan better, union cover and schemes perhaps and so on but its very easy to see why people do fall through the gaps; does it really benefit society to have that system.  I'd argue we are all more connected then that, the last pandemic surely showed that demonstrated this more then any time in a hundred years;  your health is partly reliant on others and its just true of society, an economy the nation in general.

Let's focus on the fact that neither her farm nor a single thing on the farm was insured despite generating that kind of income.

The alternative there is to include in the company accounts the cost of replacement.  Some businesses do this with a yearly depreciation, perhaps costing in 10% per year set aside to replace the cost of certain vehicles etc.   If there is no insurance then the company has to be ready to replace everything as a possibility, thats not too far outside normal practice but not everyone keeps proper accounts.  I believe it saves some tax to account for future losses and replacement in that way hence I say its fairly common method at some level perhaps.
668  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos not asking for KYC to register and play, but do require it to withdraw on: December 19, 2023, 10:56:33 PM
I had an experience like this, I presented a driving license but was then told a birth certificate sent physically to be examined would be required.  Suffice to say I never got my cash back, it wasnt a large amount and I arbitraged some of it.  This site sponsored a major esports team and the entire site packed up a while later and left people without returning balances unfortunately.    Problem is some requests will be genuine but I should have known as soon as they started moving the goal posts for requirements.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Sea Piracy, it's effect on the local economy on: December 18, 2023, 05:58:05 PM
Ironic point I have to make about piracy in effect is the theft of sea fish stock by sovereign nations far out weighs the damage done by tribal groups with fast boats and guns.     Primarily I would use China as an example because they have been known to take over the coast line fishing of East Africa, due to their ongoing wars and lack of personal representation or a strong navy the nations there see a continual raiding of their natural resources by boats thousands of miles from home.   Somalia or similar countries then have a problem with poverty, a civil war situation and an excessive amount of guns with no governmental control; all these factors breed the problem of piracy and violence vs ships passing nearby to the nation even in international waters.

BP has stopped all shipping in the Red sea in light of repeated attacks on shipping and increased danger in the region.   Its bad news for everyone in the end as it will raise prices and cost of insurance to operate as well as endanger long suffering crew who have no larger part in the actions.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake vs Drake Event on: December 18, 2023, 05:45:41 PM
Most users dont but important point, some users do amazingly bet these big amounts and they will get rewarded for it.  Its a promo to all customers existing and new I guess.
Sounds like standard advertising to me, if I got everything in an advert under ideal perfect circumstances I would be driving a Lambo by now down the California highway with several well dressed ladies on each arm Tongue  Sadly we cannot win all prizes offered, it was just a potential offering and its no surprise they give the biggest prizes to regular players.  We knew that already surely ?   On the other hand I will say Im a really small player and they still give out a faucet like payout for anyone who deposits and bets every now and again, its not a free sunshine cruise sadly but I wouldn't expect that.
I agree on the point about 7 days vs month, not everyone is going to have played in that time period so a few codes applying across a month makes it more flexible and applicable to a global audience.  Some people are celebrating various holidays with a time schedule not the same as the Western countries etc.
The stream chat is just a given with that many viewers, it will be busy beyond normal.    I guess the mods wanted the hype, a dead chat usually indicates a bad or false stream with not live viewers so people like to see it busy.   Some of the biggest games I watch via stream will put in a slow mode etc.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 18, 2023, 05:17:09 PM
He is a fool (as are we all sometimes for sure) who is a hero to some no doubt.  If you cannot be a good example be the warning to others, any method that works for him is a good one.   Problem is it wont work for everyone, my first gambling was just as kids between lessons we played various games dealt with cards and plain cash.   I dont know how you lose the habit by banning yourself from just some avenues of gambling.
What he can be commended for is throttling the amount he spent which is basically what I advise anyone to do, the game remains the same at any bet size but avoid excessive risk and you will last longer.   Life is a marathon not a sprint imo Smiley
672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 18, 2023, 04:46:45 PM
Looking purely at the near term 39k does appear fair but larger time frames will always take priority with greater resistance and volume to those historic patterns.   For the last week almost the BTC price has been trading below a weekly average which does reflect a weaker trend lower.   Nothing too negative as some profit taking is fair and normal at this point.
I have more concerns when BTC price does not halt at all and rushes ahead, its surely due a trip at that point.   The ideal is to build a slow and steady solid ascent not a rocket which will run out of fuel.
673  Economy / Economics / Re: Will BTC converge to ETH? on: December 18, 2023, 02:22:27 PM
Some people really despise Proof of stake but in any case its entirely a different protocol.   They should not be merged, thats a risk thats offering no real benefit really.   If POS has flaws then let them play out on that separate blockchain, its not the business of BTC to be directly connected with something entirely different to its intended path.    I like the idea of POS in theory but even I would say you cannot confuse the two ideas except by comparison innovatively, thats as close as they get; the exchange rate between them will always be varying.
I regard this idea like I regard the EURO, terrible idea to collide separate countries and economies with varying dynamics.  Invariably it will fail, for political reasons some love the idea but its going to end badly imo.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 17, 2023, 11:08:57 PM
Im not that well organized, play whenever and walk away probably immediately as I have other things to do in the day but obviously you put it off till the last moment.  Hence I will gamble up until the very last minute most likely.
I think gambling on a phone introduces a new aspect as you can be gambling on the bus to somewhere else hence you never really stop gambling throughout a day probably.   That could be good for filling empty sections of time like travelling on bus or train or you could say it could be dangerous for encouraging too much gambling and not sealing gambling time off from the rest of your normal day.   I dont like mobiles too much so maybe its not so tempting for me, in future if they become less fiddly to use maybe I will change my mind on that.
675  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: December 17, 2023, 09:09:15 PM
Battery technology will continue to develop, in over a decade the gains will be quite substantial especially if you consider the potential market unfolding.
In Venezuela and I'm pretty sure in other hot countries those batteries are the weakest link. They overheat and catch fire.
Just imagine sitting in a burning car and the fire brigade trying to extinguish it with water.

True I do wonder about performance in a desert from the current technology.   Also true is batteries now really dislike cold weather and suffer massively, so not only must over heating be countered and controlled but also we must actively warm up the batteries from the extreme cold present in many countries for at least half of their working year.
So thats the current liability of the present technology, Im suggesting we see a change in the lay of land due to immense change possible in technology.  My source would be the vast changes that have occurred in the past, all this tech wasnt even viable years ago we could power a watch reliably and that was considered very good at one point.    Wasnt even reliable back then.
Already true is that alternate tech exists in battery, the chemistry that makes up batteries can be entirely different.  They no longer are vulnerable subject to explosions or epic failure patterns, future battery tech can be using something close to sea salt if I understood it right.  I will look for a good source on that as Im no chemist, Im just stating the possibility is there for sure.

Good job, even better is 2016 the price of BTC was tiny compared to now.   We were below 1000 for so long just like 10k became a granite ceiling for a long time following that etc.  Who knows maybe we find ATH now will remain for some time but I dont find a hard ceiling to be too negative tbh as we are near enough the region of good highs; a good recovery within quite a short time seems comparatively.
Anyhow lets do the maths a second because it must be a giant figure in modern BTC,  $200 in 2016 was 200/718 ~ 0.2785515 BTC and now that is $11,720.89         Shocked  bigger then I expected.   Closest I had to that is forgetting my change from a purchase also some gamble balance I forgot then gain back many years after and it was giant like that in modern perspective.
677  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens if bitcoin price hits 6 figures and up? on: December 17, 2023, 07:29:39 PM
Nothing happens in an absolute way.   What happened previously because we already saw a dramatic change in the worth of money.    Your entire car could be sold at high price for $100 back in the day and that would be alot of money to exchange for a fine car.    However now I could spend more then that just getting a nice meal and drink for lunch, unfortunately we already saw the dramatic alteration of prices and our reaction was muted and apathetic mostly.   To see BTC get to 6 figures should be considered in a similar way that mirrors the depreciation of Dollars so often felt in the decades past, possible some would say inevitable though I would never assume that as dollar depreciation also equates to destabilization imo.
678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 17, 2023, 07:19:39 PM
Proper reset to bottom of a channel would be about 37k to 35k, consider that similar target but an overshoot of what you expect.   If in doubt reference the 50 day average for a good fair guide to a reset which puts us back but stays in the realm of a rising positive tide of appreciation in the price across the medium to long term.   All the moving averages indicate we are likely to gain over the journey to the horizon though we can certainly suffer a trip and reset in the near term when getting ahead of ourselves.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 17, 2023, 06:52:14 PM
Its not easier but possibly cold turkey is the only way to quit for some people.    I dont think cold turkey anything is the easiest way or nicest method to end something you previously enjoyed.   However if you have tried and failed to reduce your consumption or spending habits and its become a problem impacting the rest of your life either in time, attention or monetary balance to your budgets then you have run out of options you must then go cold turkey.
I know what I prefer to do in increasing my control of a product or service Im expending cash on which is moderate, reduce and half anything I was previously spending.   You learn best in any case when playing with one hand behind your back rather then all in type gambling where a failure is so devastating, better to learn from just small mistakes small wins be humble and patient;  in longer term the less addictive is better to last the distance and appreciate in your ability to win, learning the game fully before the bigger risks are undertaken.

proven payouts of Lambos and jackpots.

I myself have been a winner of their 200$ faucet roll

If you win the $200 or top prizes on the free roll or anything else definitely post that here because its pretty rare and cool to see.   I have not yet won that but Iam due a win by all laws of probability, I will personally dig up Blaise Pascal and refute his theorem in person if he dont deliver soon.
Im withholding full judgement till Im sitting in the Lambo or at least a Porsche but so far 10 years of history is hard to equate into a justified 'dont trust these websites'.    It is a basic take with BTC that centralism is to be avoided and any website deposit does represent that to some extent but I doubt the above commentator was making that kind of statement based off the white paper.    For using the site and holding a deposit of tokens or just plain BTC there is compensation which can withdrawn later, thats your pay off to postpone your purist protocol preference.
