661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to trade and in what? on: September 03, 2016, 01:06:34 AM

What bounties do you suggest? I tried to do vanityGen custom addresses but my laptop Is so bad. My programming skills are also limited (I do some basic C++).

Signature, avatar, twitter and so on. It doesn't require any actual work besides just posting here in this forum once in a while.

That's how a lot of people started out, just go for freebies, then worst case, you can't lose any real money. Best case you turn those crumbs into multiple btc. Most recently Lisk free bounties probably were the most profitable... I think if sold at its high, it was about equivalent to 1 btc for sig/facebook/twitter bounties. Not bad for free.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to trade and in what? on: September 02, 2016, 10:10:29 PM
Hello guys,

I managed to get 65$ ready for trading but I don't know why way to go as I never did this before.

What coin has potential of growing/increasing in value and less risk?

Give me some advices please!

Better of holding onto that $65 and instead just sign up for some free bounties. Trade those when the time is right... get a feel of how all of this works. You can make more from bounties than your $65 will get you anyway.

And forget any advice anyone gives you as far as investing in a specific coin. That basically equates to: invest in <whatever> because I also own it too.

If anyone is interested, I can take over the dev work

How about your background? It is a pity that XCR is dead now, the new "XCR" lisk raised 15k btc, damn unbebievable.

I'm surprised anyone kept their XCR. Unless away from crypto during the ICO, I don't get why anyone wouldn't convert it over when they had the chance.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: September 01, 2016, 05:48:23 PM

Yeah...ok dude

Not fudding anything, just making observations

And MAID will be very big when they go live with the SAFE network
No fudders can change that

I agree that MAID will be big if/when they finally release their network. Big in the sense that the price
of the token (or coin) will rise initially, anyway.

I just have no confidence that MAID will ever actually be used for anything. It reminds me of the HBO show Silicon Valley (data is shared in tiny pieces amongst all other users) ... nice tech, but either too complicated for the regular user, or nobody has a real need for it.

Well this is the challenge of the dev.  How to check bot and eliminate them from the system.

I'm curious if that is even really possible. Do other competitions out there have anti-bot blockers? Are there any that have prizes worth much? Just wondering what online competitions currently use.  I don't see how it could be blocked really. I mean, pretend we had a chesscoin competition where the winner won 1K (usd) worth of chesscoin. Yay, great players sign up.

Site uses bot blocking software (somehow). Okay, so no way to use a bot on that site. But why does that matter?

A person could have a super megabrain chess program running on their own pc, with same chess positions all set... just telling the person where to move their pieces. It'd end up being a competition between two chess programs, better program wins. And no way to block something like that.

1408 and The Mist were pretty excellent (Stephen King fanboy).

Kubrick's The Shining is much better than either of those. Not recent, but a
classic horror film.

The man who told that he understood chess better than anyone else in this forum said about cheating when anonymously playing chess for some reward. I don't think he know much about the online chess competition because these kind of competitions are happening hourly without concerning the cheating.

For an online competition for Chesscoin, it's not hard to set up. Joinning an online chess play site then open a tournamnet. For joining, player could apply by chesscoin or bitcoin. I play the role as an Escrower. After tournamnet, I will pay tournament's winners Chesscoin from pooled fund. That's all. This process can be done manually or automatically. I can even hold the tournament that's free to join have valuable prices. However, the Chesscoin value is too low now to attract chess player with the price of some ChessCoins. I will start ChesCoin Chess Competitions right away whenever Chesscoin has a deserved price. Thanks for constructive ideas.

The problem with tournaments is actually the opposite... not that chesscoin's value is too low. It's if chesscoin has a higher value, then bots become a problem.

If we are talking about small amounts of money or small prizes (chess set, books, whatever), I expect (or hope) most wouldn't bother with bots. Unless you are aware of some way to get around the bot problem, not sure how a higher valuation of chesscoin would help anything.

  • House of cards

The original House of Cards was pretty great (at least 1st season was). I'm not sure if most people even realize that the netflix show originated on the BBC first. BBC version > Netflix version in my opinion.

Why not hold a chess competition while we are waiting for the Pesobit ICO to be finished, but i wonder how can Chesscoin do this, without the chess platform, or maybe people have an idea. Cheesy

To start with, it might not be a bad idea to redo the coin's website, include something related to chess. Even links to other chess sites, history of chess... anything about chess at all, would be something.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: August 24, 2016, 09:00:27 PM
Why can't people just use Bitcoin instead of using a dedicated currency called Chesscoin?

They can. You can argue about branding, if there eventually is a chess app/webpage and all of that,
but btc would work too. But that same argument applies to 99% of crypto out there.

Just rewatched Bob Roberts last night ... decent satire.

it is a very thin film, because it is the difference between humor and satire. Perhaps if it will need to reconsider it again.

Well, the problem this year is that the real life election is wackier than what was occurring in a satire 15 years ago.

Or the only main reason is that you are trying to give negative thoughts to catch 1 sat sell by your 1 sat buy order,

That is the main reason most people post negative comments about any coin here. They just sold, now want to catch a dump cheaper. Hence why directly after a pump, most coins get bombarded with scam, or dev leaving, or whatever comments. It's like a game. A weird nutty game.

Of course we also get those who just want to let off steam after getting burned (i.e. I bought chesscoin at 50 early on, oh woe is me) ... and that's actually understandable. Although it is against their best interests to go too crazy about it.

And some just want to warn of red flags (if you read some of my earlier posts in regard to the bella rate swap, you'll see my own comments regarding, let's say, unusual behavior here). Those who just make wacky accusations, post scam repeatedly, or say a coin is doomed -- tend not to be the red flag sort.

'The Night Of', new HBO's show is pretty awesome, advise everyone to check it out.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2401256/

Thanks for reminding me of that one, been meaning to watch it. Subject matter looks so-so, but good
reviews.

The Jinx on HBO is also worth watching, if folks have missed that one. Interesting documentary, I suggest going in clean, don't read about the show or subject matter beforehand, better that way.

You always have a close following to every step of ChessCoin. Your evaluations seem most thoughtful here.

Joining other projects is for spare btc. That's right.
But my moving is not for cash out my ChessCoin. If I just wanted to cash out, I would have done it instead of building online web wallet which took me much money and at least 3.5 million ChessCoins.

A plan for buying back ChessCoins will be performed when ChessCoin reachs some potential developments.

I'm naturally cynical when it comes to crypto.

If you wanted to cash out your chesscoin, you really couldn't. At least not after the ICO ended, as there wasn't enough buy support, not at a decent price.

A smart dev would try to keep the price semi-stable, then use btc to create a catalyst (chesscoin app, for instance) ... a real plan (still waiting on that one) ... and then pump up the price on tiny yobit, which isn't hard to do when a couple of btc can raise it like 50x. Then dev slowly sells off. I'm not saying you'll dump the coin to smithereens, but you'll want to sell off enough to make a decent profit.

At least that is the way I see it. We'll see how it goes. Regardless, dumping chesscoin for 5-6 sats doesn't seem to make sense to me, especially when the order book is at like .05 btc support at those prices.

677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: August 22, 2016, 06:47:44 PM
Given the current price of Chess I don't think it is of any benefit to sell unless one really needs money and has large amounts of Chess ... Maybe the future will be brighter and the coins will be worth more ... At least that's waht I hope.

That's sort of my thoughts too right now. I mean, it's a choice of selling for like nothing, or just hold and hope for the best. Worst case, you lose out on some crumbs ... order book wouldn't even support a proper dump regardless.

And my thoughts on the coin itself is basically the same as always... dev has a lot of coin he needs to sell, so he just needs to find a way to pump up the price to do so. A couple of btc would pump it in this tiny market -- chess app or whatever could be used as catalyst. If dev is involved in another ICO, it means the dev will have that spare btc to use in order to raise the price here, then cash out his chesscoin.

The Lobster
Ant-Man
Dope

Not quite sure I'd qualify The Lobster as a comedy. First half has its comedic parts, but the second half... eh... not really so funny. It's a film that is more weird than comedic too, almost like it's being weird for the sake of being weird.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: August 17, 2016, 09:34:16 PM
price is going deep down right now  Huh Huh Huh....
If two whales start to dump we're going to see a dead coin like all the other dead coin, yes a project is coming in October but by then people will lose interest and start dumping I have seen this things happen so many times before ..

Whales? I see about .20 btc on the buy order book ... won't take a whale.

Although personally I see no point in dumping at these prices, as for crumbs, who cares? Might as well
hold and hope for the best.

Have they given a timeframe as to when they'll convert Maid tokens over to Safe tokens? Final release, or before?
