663  Other / Meta / Re: What's with the hats??? on: March 05, 2019, 09:17:42 PM

665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2020 Halving on: March 05, 2019, 08:24:40 PM
Instead of counting the days you spend on the bear market, I recommend you count the days remaining to the halving. This picture will lead you to optimism day by day, My guess  When bitcoin is halving,  The bitcoin price will be at least $ 10,000.
Each halving takes 4 years, i think that would be too much to think and count each day before the halving. Why not make those days progressive instead of waiting and counting. Accumulate Bitcoin each day if as long as you can afford then buy back those coins that you have lost before and start hodling them until the halving and bullish market starts.

to be precice, the halfing is not counted in years or days but in blocks.
every 210 000 Blocks will be a halfing of the block reward.
This is aprox 4 years but it changes as the 10 minutes fore each block may vary and even with the difficulty adjustment process you have variances in the times for the blocks..

but one or two days difference is not too much Smiley

668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network node income? Please share some info on: March 02, 2019, 08:35:25 AM
to run a Lightning node you need some BTC (or fractions of)  to be bind in the channels. So you need first some to start with this.
So maybe all this signature campaigns will need these to get starting money to start a node.

Also at the moment, based on my experiences, the fees you will get in lightning are so low (which is not bad) so that earning money with a small node is impossible if you take in account the time you need to run, the power consumption even if you run on a small computer..

For me (at the moment) this is more for fun and learning.

But you are right. The more nodes, the more possibilities.

Also, i did not think that it will decrease the Spam in the forum as this possibility to earn some Satoshis will still exists and used. Like BTC Faucets where people still use even if the amount of time to solve the captchas is in no relation to the gain of such faucet.

669  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I need someone to help me recover my BTC - I have the wallet.dat on: March 01, 2019, 11:59:36 AM
I've tried everything. I don't think I'll be able to recover them for some reason maybe because it's an outdated wallet or something. https://

Uploaded what I have including the wallet.dat, passphrase and sentence. Please let me know if you recover them and share some back with me. I know I won't get all of them back.

for all.
WARNING

671  Other / Meta / Re: [Suggestion] Add automatic thread lock timer to kill the megathread plague on: February 26, 2019, 05:09:57 PM
Why not just have an automatic thread lock timer?
Intriguing, yet unsatisfying.
We all love our Wall Observers & stuff, so why kill them off?

An automatic lock to prevent accidental "necroing" of threads, otoh, would be something I would support.
I.e. lock threads after e.g. 30 days without a new post.

there is already a warning saying:
Quote

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.

but we see that this is really not working.
Therefore i also think a lock after xxx days without new post will be useful.
672  Economy / Reputation / Re: Introduction on: February 26, 2019, 04:11:19 PM
I think no one needs your introduction here, make your self recognized by posting high quality posts. Smiley

I think he/she is referring to this discussion:

not sure if this is a way to avoid bans. But this is in the hand of forum admins.

673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is producing bitcoin now, please? on: February 26, 2019, 03:49:46 PM
It wrong to think that miners are the producer's of bitcoin, because from the little knowledge I have about bitcoin is that we have 21 millions bitcoin in circulation and what the ninners does is to hash bitcoin transactions so with my little knowledge about bitcoin mining I know the miner's are not producing bitcoin.

When every bitcoin will be mined (around 2040) there will be 21 milion bitcoins in circulation theoretically. The bitcoin produced until now are 80% of the 21 million bitcoins. That is, it remain to be mined approx 4 million bitcoins in the next 22 years.
Miners are producing bitcoins, they are hardware devices that apply the SHA256 hash algorithm to some previously given data, to obtain the bitcoins. With time the difficulty to find the bitcoins increases (goes up).  This is why in the last 10 years 80% of the bitcoins were mined, and 20% of bitcoins remain to be mined in the next 22 years.

nearly correct but the last bitcoin will be mined in approx. 2140 not 2040.
So we will have some more time.
Here you can see in some tables the supply over the next blocks: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Controlled_supply

675  Other / Meta / Re: Ready to work for Merit. What can I help you with? on: February 25, 2019, 04:16:40 PM
One post, nearly one year old.
Maybe this is not read by to much people? Make yourself more visible and write some more good post.

And not waiting nearly one year to let something happen..
676  Other / Meta / Re: Ready to work for Merit. What can I help you with? on: February 25, 2019, 03:49:52 PM
I doubt this will be allowed.

Quote
Related to the FAQ:
Can I ask for merit?

There is no need to do this and this behaviour is usually seen as 'merit begging' which is frowned upon by the community and may lead to you receiving negative feedback. Keep making quality, constructive posts and you will surely be rewarded over time.

Can I sell merit?

Selling merit is disallowed.

so I think you can use your skills and create your own good content posts.
677  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: February 25, 2019, 10:44:40 AM

678  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: February 25, 2019, 10:03:30 AM
