661  Other / Meta / Re: A simple question "Is it against the forum rules make "double posting" ? on: April 13, 2015, 12:53:59 AM
It's not really necessary to be honest. I'm not really buying the whole length thing. I often quote many people I want to reply to in one post. Why would you need to double post? The only way I can see it being valid is if a thread hasn't been replied to and you need to bump it for whatever reason.

i often scroll through threads replying to each entry on its own (but i dont have any sig ad)

but imho you are right with the length of one post. i dont see a reason to split that.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 12, 2015, 09:07:16 PM

Example: I just made a 10XMR transaction here: http://moneroblocks.eu/search/21b14c9d26253270bd6bf921a9671d9cc3116a10f3742c38a98bdf544aae58fd

can you find where it went from where or is it really 10 XMR?  Smiley

The terms are foreign to me. I am not familiar with the technical aspects.

Let me rephrase my question, if a analysis expert looked at that transaction, what is the most info that will be shown?

Originating IP address, Date/time, A pool of transactions that it was mixed with?

atm you aright with "Originating IP address, Date/time, A pool of transactions that it was mixed with" and the paymentid is clear text atm.

in the future:
i2p integration: means ip obfuscation
payment id will be hidden to

edit: originating ip address is only a guess. you cant now for sure. same goes for exact time
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 12, 2015, 03:36:23 PM
Hello, I have a one game server. I want to add options pay with XMR. There a any tut or document for this? I can add pay options in client (python script) or i can add to my website (php).
I using MyMonero wallet.

atm there is no way to query the balance when using mymonero.

if you run your own daemon and simplewallet you get a rpc api which you can use like this...

curl -X POST http://127.0.0.1:18500/json_rpc -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"get_bulk_payments","id":"test", "params":{"payment_ids": ["666c75666679706f6e7920697320746865206265737420706f6e792065766572"]}}' -H "Content-Type: application/json"

...to get a list of all received payments (in this case filtered for a specific payment id).

simplewallet has an option which will disable all rpc commands which may be used to send money. so you can run it on another machine if you want to.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 10, 2015, 10:39:27 PM

Not going to lie. That was my purchase that broke that trend line. Grin There were a couple of other people who came in right after me to make the candlestick more exagerated, but i was the one who bought enough to push it above the trend line initially, they just pushed it further above the trend line. I wanted some more monero sure, but i also saw the opportunity to potentially light a fuse.

damn... because of you my mother had to pay a slightly higher price Wink
i was buying for her today...

https://forum.getmonero.org/20/general-discussion/158/any-women-using-monero

but indeed: it looks nice!
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 10, 2015, 10:16:31 PM

Thanks, not seeing a poloniex BTC balance though  Huh

due to poloniex rate limiting we dont request your balance that often (we have to do this requests once per customer).

we requested it once when you create your account (i guess you funded your poloniex account afterwards - which is perfectly fine).

as soon as your "time window" is reached our bot will check your balance a few seconds before he tries to buy and starts buying if there is enough btc available.

Also, on the instructions I caught a typo: "Press register. The following instructions are also (cloated) on the "Status" page for your convenience"

thank you for pointing that out.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 10, 2015, 09:16:57 PM

may i have the first three digits of your payment id (preferably in private - pm or mail (info@buymonero.net) as you like)?

i will set the promo code from your post above (655906100) on your account manually

i have received your mail and have set your promo code to the code mentioned in the quote above.

thank you for trying us and welcome!

edit: it was a kind of message but no mail Wink
667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 10, 2015, 08:54:59 PM
PROMO-Key: 313661619

Can't pass on free Monero.

awesome. I'll hook yah up tonight with the extra monero!!!

( and you know its not technically free monero, right?)  Grin

You beat me! Was changing promo code as you wrote. See the adjusted post for the correct one. Oh, and thanks for this service--I was just thinking about bot buying the other day and this make things easier.

reloading the promo-registration page does not give you a new promo-code (only if you actually use that page for registering).

may i have the first three digits of your payment id (preferably in private - pm or mail (info@buymonero.net) as you like)?

i will set the promo code from your post above (655906100) on your account manually

Can the funds/and or account on Mymonero.com be locked or removed/destroyed by Mymonero.com Admin? If indeed I created the account there.

You guys may see where I'm going with this but maybe not.

no they cant. they have your viewkey which means they are able to see your transactions.
but they cant "destroy" or steal your funds as they never have your spent-key (just like blockchain.info)
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Unveiling the truth over the major Monero scam on: April 10, 2015, 03:24:40 PM
Interesting that on the day the Bytecoin devs release the polished cryptonote gui wallet..

Monero devs, and their shills, coincidentally choose that day to restart their FUD games and directly attack Bytecoin devs.

If any actions bring into focus their choice of Scam, Pump and FUD methods over development it is this.

Thank you, Monero devs - your actions speak for themselves and need no further explanation.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=355689

i just saw a thread about bytecoin popping up and was like WTF they are still alive... have read it, asked a question (though i was a little provocative) which got deleted immediatly... after that i have written my neg trust

btw i am not a monero dev... and i am not a shill Wink
i just like monero

edit: i asked a question; not answered one. corrected
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Secure, private, untraceable since 2012 on: April 09, 2015, 11:47:02 PM
That is quite an insulting statement to both Bytecoin devs and the community members.

Do you mind me explaining you why I disagree?

When you see Bytecoin for the first time, you notice something distinctive about it among a thousand of various coins. There are only a handful of such projects on the market. It breathes change, it gives market radically new things to experiment with. There are only a handful of other projects that are this huge in technology terms. It was the first to implement anonymity in cryptocurrencies. That was a hard one to crack for the crypto, wasn't it? It gave birth to a diverse multi-million market, it allowed new projects to emerge, new strong communities to gather, it breathed in new ideas. That's what makes Bytecoin truly inspiring.

Bytecoin roadmap may potentially be very huge. Colored coins, digital assets, scripts. Currently there is not to many projects daring to implement such features. When I think about the potential system that Bytecoin can become, I do wish them luck. I like thinking that we almost live in future. I support projects like Bytecoin because they advance it.

And as far as I can judge from the latest release and post on Bytecoin engine, they Bytecoin devs know what they're doing.

As for your claims about the scam, you should be telling the other side of the story too. Certain people were too fast too lynch both Bytecoin and CryptoNote while there were evidence that this is incorrect [1] [2].

In any case, you may not trust, but you may wait and see.

its an obvious scam!
if the team at least would have been honest at start we could talk about it. but taking an 80% premine and try to tell us its from 2012? stupid liars!
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 09, 2015, 02:31:19 PM
Heya monero speculators! Onemorexmr, fluffypony and I put together something that will make it easier for everyone to buy monero!!

[...]

As this is the speculation thread, I assume you all will want some hard numbers - unfortunately, we decided that to avoid exploitation of the bot that we would not publish them. And to keep this on topic - how do you think a service like this will affect the market?

Cool, thanks, I'll try it!

I understand that you don't want to publish too specific details on the bot's strategy, but it would be nice if you could publish some numbers on how much it is used (e.g. how many XMR the bot bought per week or so summed over all users)

we will think about it again when we have a bigger amount of users. not sure whats best atm.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 09, 2015, 02:26:27 PM
Excellent service! I've registered and looking forward to programmable bots  Cheesy

you are welcome Wink

(i developed the service advertised in my sig btw - no sig ad Wink)
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 09, 2015, 07:22:11 AM
How are the Poloniex fees handled?

as usual poloniex keeps their fee.
we take our fee from the amount bought (not from your poloniex account ofc).
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 08, 2015, 11:47:29 PM
for simplicity sakes i go through the history of your executed polo orders to calculate our fee - if you use an existing account that would mean that your account starts with a negative balance

Couldn't you consider only the orders made after the user entered the API key at BuyMonero to calculate the fees on an existing account?

i did not do this, because i thought that if a user tries to use his existing account he will also continue trading with that account...and i have no way to detect that (i can make an educated guess buy manually looking into the polo-history - but i don't even store your poloniex trade history on my server)

so i see it as a way to get my users to make a new account which they dont touch.
(btw can we continue on this thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1017131). we are a little offtopic here.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: April 08, 2015, 11:28:19 PM

Awesome, thank you you three! Smiley

But I'm curious, is there a technical or safety reason why you direct us to "set up a new Poloniex account" instead of our existing ones?

well.. i answer that questions honest: it is simply not possible for me to detect trades made by me or from you (well polo api says i *should* be able to - but i dont consider 90% reliable).

for simplicity sakes i go through the history of your executed polo orders to calculate our fee - if you use an existing account that would mean that your account starts with a negative balance (on buymonero - we will never touch your polo funds! (except for the trades you want us to do)).

neither you nor we want that!

additionally if you are using the account and our bot at the same time: it always cancels all existing orders before making a new one. this would mean that your orders get cancelled once a day.

EDIT: but it is a good idea to login to that polo account from time-to-time and withdraw xmr! never keep to much on one exchange. we stop trading any account who has too much funds in it and send a warning mail.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 08, 2015, 11:10:29 PM

An army of bots will paint the chart green!

On a more serious note, this looks like a great service for people that don't have enough time on their hands to check the price the whole day and/or get frustrated by setting their bids that eventually won't get hit (and thus having to set them again). How this will influence the market? Since the buying is more gradual it could reduce the volatility, which in general is a good thing. On the opposite, it could take away some liquidity from the bid side. So in conclusion, I am not really clear in what way this could effect the market, but atleast it's a good feature for the people that want to invest/buy for the long term.

i certainly hope it will help building up the bid side a little (it also places a buy-order for you below last price - only if this is not executed it will buy on your specified interval).

it is inspired by usd-cost-averaging - which made some good returns in the early btc-days.

i will continue to develop it; if you have suggestions just tell us!

679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 08, 2015, 12:01:53 PM
Interesting! Is the bot user-programmable?

not yet; version 2 is (but psssst.... it'll take a while for me to finish testing and implementing it)
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BuyMonero.net - BTC cost averaging on: April 08, 2015, 11:12:40 AM
i confirm that i developed and host buymonero.net.
i am also the only one who sees api-keys from all users and has access to the wallet.

if you have any suggestions or ideas feel free to contact us!

happy trading!
