661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN vs ETH ? Your thoughts? on: October 02, 2017, 01:21:46 PM
Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different beasts.

Where Bitcoin has first mover advantage, Ethereum has utility as smart contract. Bitcoin's utility isn't much right now but it will increase with merchants and vendors adopting it in future. Ethereum on other hand is growing strong as most of all new coins are build over Ethereum. Ethereum has a competitor WAVES, but so far it wasn't able to beat ETH in anyway. They both will continue to grow and I don't think that any coin will be able to beat Bitcoin soon as the adopting rate of Bitcoin is quite high.
662  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Surges Above $4400 As World Realizes Jamie Dimon & China Don't Matter on: October 02, 2017, 08:38:30 AM
Market is today mature enough to recover from these FUDs in a month. Price has broken down the resistance level of $4200 as predicted by some experts that if Bitcoin passes over the $4200, then it will continue to grow else it will fall back to $3500 back. Since the outcome is positive. I am looking forward to see ATH in October.

664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC become a PUMP after 30/9???? on: October 01, 2017, 04:59:38 PM
The price has been raising uncontrollably since last week !!!
However , Chinese will public their decision of Cryptocurrency on 30/9
Do u think the price may keep raising or decrease ??
Bitcoin doesn't pumps. Right now whatever growth it is experiencing is genuine. People are investing, bitcoin is getting media attention, some countries are overwhelmingly supporting bitcoin, all in all there is a positive atmosphere with some instances of negative news that comes and goes. There is a legit increase in demand. But yeah with growth there are always some instances of pump but then Bitcoin always go a correction phase after ATH. In October, most probably the growth will be there as market is over China's FUD.
665  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Here is a summary of what happened to Bitcoin this September. on: October 01, 2017, 04:50:25 PM
Bitcoin is still in building phase. Bitcoin being global currency still can be affected by news from one country or one person. User base isn't that big. But still the market has improved a lot from before. Market recovered in a month from all that dip. That is indeed a good sign.

In all these series of events, people who were at loss were panic sellers. Most of the hodlers took that all price drop to be as an opportunity to buy and hodl more Bitcoins.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will My Bitcoins be Safe During Bitcoin Gold Hardfork and November's Hardfork? on: October 01, 2017, 04:41:48 PM
Whatever wallet or exchange you are using. Stay in touch with company's announcements. Almost every exchange or wallet providers take proper measures and inform the users about the possible scenario of whether they'll be supporting the new coin or not and whether you should keep you bitcoin there or not. Just stay on popular exchanges or wallet.
667  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can hit 5000$ before november?? on: October 01, 2017, 01:32:53 PM
Easily!
668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Nosedived on: September 30, 2017, 10:39:25 AM
I will like to know the reason why after bitcoin reached the maximum value this month it has been decreasing on a daily basis just at the time i wanted to invest the uptrend just changed suddenly. is there any hope of further increasing as some has speculated that it will reach $5000 by the end of this year?
There is always a correction after Bitcoin touches ATH. There is indeed a demand in the market for Bitcoin and hence there is a growth in the price as well. But the growth isn't natural always. There is some instances of pumping in price and thus a correction takes place to take the price back to a natural number. This time in September, price along with experiencing a correction got dropped deeper because of negatives news such as China's ICO ban and Jamie Dimon speech. But now market has recovered from that and is now bullish. Price is set to touch another ATH in October. So, have patience with your Bitcoin investment.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: GoodNews: Japan is finally given licence to bitcoin exchanges on: September 30, 2017, 10:32:32 AM
Japan has always been an adopter of new technologies. The way they inherited Bitcoin in their system will make other countries believe in Bitoin's potential too. This all will bring a positive wave in the world in regard to cryptocurrencies. Regarding exchanges, I believe government should get involved in exchanges matter for safeguarding the public interest and in preventing other illegal activities instead of banning Bitcoin for the same. I am glad Japan is working in that direction by giving license to trustworthy exchanges.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: Like it or not Bitcoin is Gold 2.0 on: September 30, 2017, 10:26:17 AM
I still believe Bitcoin and Gold are quite different from each other. Where gold has intrinsic value and use as metal. Bitcoin doesn't has any intrinsic value and its price is highly dependent on demand. No demand is equal to no value whereas gold will still have value. Bitcoin's price driving factor is demand and speculation highly as there is not much utility. Whereas price driving factor for gold are many like worldwide jewelry and industrial demand, central bank reserves etc along with demand. Also, gold supply isn't limited, but Bitcoin's is.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment for Bitcoins on: September 30, 2017, 10:03:44 AM
BTC Anyone got idea for investing in bitcoins than bitcoin mining which is already dead?

Also not the captcha thingy faucet which needs thousands of clicks for just 0.0000XX btc per harvest?

Thank you Cheesy

If you want an investment site. I will recommend to you is genesis-mining even though I'm not an investor but I think I will when I got some big money to invest. I heard that many people says its paying and they will earn profit now after few months or year of investing. Right now, I'm investing in telegram app if you know that you can also invest there day by day I accumulate my invested money, maybe after 4 weeks I can earn profit with my investmwnts there.
Genesis mining and profit? These both are completely opposite words. Bitcoin mining is the worst thing to invest in. You'll keep on waiting for your returns for a year or so. Instead if you buy some Bitcoin off that amount. It will definitely more profitable and that too in short period. Just don't fall for mining unless you have enough to setup a mining farm.
672  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-30] Morgan Stanley's James Gorman Offers Rational Words on BTC on: September 30, 2017, 09:31:42 AM
So now Wall Street bankers are in two camps with their views on Bitcoin.

That is interesting!

I am glad that Morgan Stanley CEO, James Gorman consider Bitcoin to be more than just a "fad". He wasn't clearly supportive but he believes in potential of Bitcoin. Right now Bitcoin is highly speculative and something that is hard to trust by veteran investors. The growth of Bitcoin is like a bubble to them because this is how the stock market works. but they fail to understand the potential of the underlying technology and Bitcoin will definitely gonna prove them all wrong. Bitcoin will definitely be a next big thing in financial landscape.
673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is Laughing on: September 30, 2017, 09:22:34 AM
A single influential person has the power to influence the market. China is still a country. Bitcoin market isn't really big. User base is still small. Any negative news can have a huge impact. Not only China, any country who has some Bitcoin users can impact the price with such announcements. Sufferers are only panic sellers. Market can always recover in such situations. Such news have small term impact. China can laugh for a month only. After that we hodlers will laugh!
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no role in real world on: September 30, 2017, 06:38:15 AM
Really, Bitcoin don't have any use in real world?

Yesterday, I was reading a report of cryptocurrencies boom in India. There I read that Bitcoin can save billions of dollars in remittance fee that overseas Indians pay to US firms for money transfer back home. India pay $5-7 billion in remittance fee alone every year. It is a fundamental technology and would change society sooner than later.
675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is died! on: September 30, 2017, 06:19:07 AM
Let's make another "bitcoin is died" thread, I think it's just the right time... again Smiley

This picture perfectly sums up the ban on Bitcoin by government. Banning Bitcoin is next to impossible. When something exists on internet then there are plenty of ways to access that without coming under law enforcement eyes. Just like Darkweb. No matter how much agencies tries, yet there are plenty popping up everytime. To ban these things completely, agencies will require lots to time and resources and at the end it will not worth it. Because in no time another market will be building up.

676  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bitcoin have what it takes to become a trillion dollar industry? on: September 29, 2017, 01:03:35 PM
Bitcoin definitely has potential to reach trillion dollars marketcap. The reason being the size of market it is disrupting and the size of potential users. Bitcoin is disrupting the market of traditional currencies and the potential market is of billion internet users. It can easily reach to trillion dollars marketcap.
677  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-28]PBOC Media: Bitcoin and Blockchain Should Be Treated Separately on: September 28, 2017, 04:19:56 PM
To me, the token forms the incentive to sustain the blockchain. How would unrelated parties be incentivised to upkeep and sustain a blockchain without a reward? How would transactions be limited and protected from abuse without (token) fees?
Many of the companies in discussion about blockchain are looking at private blockchains, like what all the big banks in R3 are looking at implementing, have different needs and requirements. They don't need miners and they can create some small token just pass it around internally with each granted permission given into the network.

By no need of token, I meant those cryptocurrencies that are already established like Bitcoin or altcoins. Government can certainly ban those coins but can benefit from blockchain tech. Blockchain can exist without these decentralised cryptocurrencies.

Mining and faucets are the worst way to earn Bitcoin today. They both are mere time waste. Signature campaign can be a good way to earn Bitcoin. But looking at your rank, it won't be profitable as well.

What I suggest is start trading with some little initial amount. Do altcoin trading. I agree many people here will warn you for the same and yes it is pretty risky and you need to spend some initial time in investigating the market and coins. But trust me when you get acquainted with market, you can earn some great returns in relatively shorter period. Read books, experiment with small amount. After a month or so, you can easily make 1-2 btc a month without any big initial amount.

Tried and tested!

Wow... 1-2 btc a month? Is trading that nice... If it is that means is the best source to get a hand on bitcoin. 1-2 is not easy to come by in a year. Thats really big money  Roll Eyes
The thing is trading is not easy. Most of the people usually make huge loss. It is a game of patience and skills. I only invest in 1-2 ICOs a month and usually make 10x-20x profit on my investment. I have hugely diversified portfolio with about 53 altcoins right now. You need to keep a watch on market and the respective company behind a particular coin which requires lot of your time. This is definitely not easy money.
679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big were DRUGS in the rise of Bitcoin? on: September 28, 2017, 03:05:30 PM
First of all Bitcoin is a real commodity with real usage. There is no need to think about fantasy situation to understand how utility derive the price. When there is utility, there will be demand and hence, there will be a hike in price. Whether that utility is created by your fantasy drug or by merchants all over the world who start accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment, that won't matter.

Coming to your first question. Yes, Darkweb played a giant role in making cryptocurrencies popular. Bitcoin actual usage started from silkroad for trading illegal goods or services. With time when demand increased and  people understood that there is limited cap and hence price will increase. Bitcoin was start being preferred as investment asset and it came out of darkweb and went mainstream. Now usage of bitcoin in darkweb has sharply dropped and people there start preferring other cryptocurrencies whereas Bitcoin has largely became an investment asset today.

How is a blockchain supposed to function without a token?
I didn't understand why according to you blockchain won't function without tokens?

From Wikipedia:-
A blockchain – originally block chain – is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.

Where is the mention of token here? Blockchain is usually used for storing data in a transparent and secure manner free from any type of unauthorized manipulation. It has potential to disrupt many industries like banks, e commerce, social sites etc by making the storing of data better and secure.

Blockchain can certainly thrive without cryptocurrencies.
