681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Someone please make a steem clone on: August 26, 2016, 11:10:34 PM
If you guys are looking for a competitor to STEEM you should take a look at NEWBIUM. It's crypto content focused, but similar ideas of paying content providers with tokens based on attention, votes, etc

Just bad research by @coindesk. #Coinshuffle was implemented in Nov. 2015 by #Nxt and was audited by Ruffing himself.

Nxt was there first: https://nxtforum.org/nrs-releases/nrs-v1-7-0e/

The creatior of the coindesk article himself even audit the Nxt version

Coindesk has always had a weird bias against NXT, right from the first days in Nov 2013,
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: August 26, 2016, 11:00:23 PM
Chris_stratis is killakem, right? I'm not particularly impressed. I see what happens to fibre and it doesn't sound good for Stratis.

Chris is killakem.

Chris is the only member of the team that still has any time for Fibre.

Fibre also forked a few weeks ago which Chris got resolved. I assume you are not in the Fibre channel on slack? The whole Fibre team were volunteers and did not receive any funding but still managed to deliver more innovative features in 2 months than most projects do in their life time. Unfortunately people working for zero pay do not usually stick around so all the other team members have abandoned the project, if you join the Fibre slack you will see that Chris is still active.
Ok, thanks for the explanation.

Could other STRATIS devs help Chris revive FIBRE? it had some cool features and is a SuperNET core coin after all. There's still a lot to work with, and there's some funds to keep everyone going for a while now after the ICO. Maybe a coin swap/donation could be arranged with FIBRE bagholders. Could be great side project

685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: August 26, 2016, 10:50:22 PM

Synereo is not 'going public' either, BTW.  The 'exit strategy' is to become a public commons.

exactly the right strategy, companies grow, get big, and still fail .... standards can evolve and last for ever

NEM Beta 0.6.79
Nebulous, Earthshaking, Minty
As some of you might have already noticed we have a new release.

Planned fee changes are postponed to one of subsequent releases.

Reduced memory footprint by reorganizing how node experiences are exchanged.
Fixed bug in scheduler which could make scheduled tasks stall.
Issue discovered by @Quantum_Mechanics (and possibly someone else earlier), details will be disclosed at a later date.
Upgrade is mandatory.

Tell 3 people and ask them to each tell 3 people, and .... etc.

You'll like this even more.

Have a cartoon competition like synereo Smiley
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: August 26, 2016, 08:52:45 AM
I buy SIA at 9 sat and sell it at 12--15 sat  Grin

sia marketcap is still peanuts, learn from that error, and jump back into sia. Not many cryptos have a chance to be used globally by millions of people, but sia does. Not much competition either. Just needs loads of patience
691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 26, 2016, 08:46:05 AM
i know a guy who lives in a 3rd world country that runs 6 supernodes.
He quit his job 2 months ago and is now living off the rewards generated by the 6 nodes.

interesting, so are 6 supernodes with 3M each better than 1 supernode with 18M?

the balance doesn't mean anything, as long as u have 3m thats all it counts.
each node gets a reward, so yes you need to split them up.

ok, I didn't realise that. So supernodes aren't like NXT forging where a bigger balance earns proportionately more fees, that's interesting.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: August 26, 2016, 08:40:58 AM
I keep my word, +3 Ti transfered  Smiley

Thanks, that's fantastic!! Are you able to share details of any 'deal' you might have made with David & Dominik for some possible payment for a donation over 3 Ti? Completely understand if you don't, but I think the presence of even a small payment will motivate other guys to contribute +3 Ti. Would be great if we got to the original target for Big Deal

I haven't got any payment for it. It's pure dontaion.
The way I see it is like cutting a chunk of a stocks of a startup, so it can take some cool VC-s on board. It's pure mathematics. I do not want to hold X% of IOTA at marketcap 20 mil, I prefer holding half of my stake at marketcap 200 mil.

Ok, understood. I agree 100%, much to be learnt from other coin communities like NXT.

Thanks for being wise Smiley

I'll watch anything with Will Ferrell. Just looking at that guy makes me crack up. Get Hard, The Other Guys, Step Brothers, Stranger Than Fiction are good ones not necessarily in that order. And Anchorman of course.

agreed, at christmas I can watch Elf every year

IS UFO or ALIENS are real ?

what is your review friends?

logic says YES, it's so ridiculous to think earth is the only planet sustaining life in the universe ... but we'll never know, too far, time differences etc
699  Other / Off-topic / Re: Make a Living Sports Betting? on: August 26, 2016, 04:05:30 AM
betting on sports is good and a lot better than other forms of gambling because if you have the knowledge then you can have a better winning record.

but it is sting gambling. so i would never suggest to "make a living" with it even if you had a good record so far. because you are taking huge risks still and you can end up losing a lot of your money.

if you know the sport you can make $5 an hour over 10 years from the time spent. If you like it, it's not really work, but flipping burgers is more profitable by the hour

check out IOTA. There's lots of fads in crypto, but IoT isn't one of them, it'll be HUGE
