I said 22 days for it to come through, this is day 11.
ETA is Oct. 12, 5 days from now. Is this 22 days for coin with 1 min block time? If a coin has 10 min block time, is it 220 days? A lot can happen during that time. Would a coin has longer block time less susceptible to this kind of attack? It has fewer orphans. |

My intention (along with some that the others have already interpreted), has been to elucidate the asymmetry between the impact needed for price going down and price going up.
Currently, to force the price down 10%, one needs to sell 39,000 XMR. About ~9 people have this amount if they sell it all. Needless to say, it is unlikely that the price would go down unless many of them combine to sell large parts of their holdings.
To keep the price from going down 10%, one needs to absorb the 39,000 XMR by selling 100 BTC. There are 10,000 people in the world with 100 BTC, and if fiat holders are taken into account, the number rises to high 100s of millions(!).
Therefore, any 1 out of 100s of millions can keep the price up (or make it go up, which is analoguous), but it takes concerted (in)action of several out of ~9 to make it go down.

GIGABYTE 990FXA UD3 motherboard, FX 8320, 4 X 2 GB RAM. I tried prepatched drivers 14.4. Also 14.6 RC2 and patched it. Actually i have no problems running 4 X 7990 without any modded drivers. The problem comes when i install 5th 7990 which adds two more GPUs. Thes it installs driver and after restart when windows 8.1 is loading appears some kind of blue screen where is written that ATIKMPG of something like this file caused problem and windows will restart trying to fix this problem. It is always the same no matter which driver i use. Modded or not. Later i removed 5th 7990 and just disabled 2 of the cores. Then put again 5th VGA and windows started normally. When i try to enable 9th GPU windows crashes with the same blue screen with counter to restart trying to fix (atikmpag.sys) Ok. Somebody tall me that windows have 8 GPU limitation which could not be removed. I think it is not true!!! Today i installed two Nvidia750 Ti to check what is going on and there is no problem. 4 X 7990 which is 8 GPU and two Nvidia GPU was installed correctly and also mining at this moment! I will make screenshot later and will post it in topic! If somebody is familiar with AMD drivers please help to improve it if its possible AMD drivers to support 10 or more GPU. I have same experience. I cannot make 9-10 AMD GPU work. |

We need a crypto credit union so merchants and the likes are not forced to deal with banks directly. This entity could be devoted to finding and maintaining partners with banking entities to do nothing but convert from crypto to fiat and back.
