682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ARG Puzzle with 3.5 BTC Private Key Prize **Game Over** on: July 12, 2014, 03:43:58 PM
Who did claim these coins at the end? Amazing work BTW!
It was Gatekeeper.

To all: How about a new puzzle section on the forum?

Could be something to suggest might be easier to find as this was not really about bitcoin so shouldn't of been here in bitcoin discussion right?
683  Other / New forum software / Re: Reducing miscateogrized posts on: July 12, 2014, 03:42:52 PM
The system we have now to correct things manually upon identification is plenty good when you consider it requires no further changes to maintain.

It's not a massive problem anyway.
Oh, trust me: sometimes it is. Though it depends on the timeframe, but overall there are lots of posts that I move everyday. Some seem like honest mistakes, while some did that intentionally.

Back on topic, I think that even some rules can be enforced easier this way. For example a question: "Is this thread is about a website?" AND IF ANSWERED YES "Have you already made a thread about it?" would reduce on duplicate threads if the poster just didn't know the rules.

For duplicate threads, there is a solution! Simple display "relevant" threads when someone types in a title. This is what StackOverflow does.

I love this idea. I get confused easily sometimes when organizing my threads and putting them in the correct place. often people point out that I have posted in the wrong sub forum and they are often moved by staff.

@Nahtnam

I like this idea I have posted a few duplicate threads I know. but the main reason for that is because most of the other threads have a warning when trying to reply because the thread is to old. So if you want to add to discussion this wouldn't work. But if you are looking for a answer then this could work pretty well.

What is insanity? Every thought we think of is unguided, are we all insane? Or are we all insanely sane?
Wasn't it said of Don Quixote, that his great fortune was to die wise, and live insane?

Are you speaking english right now?

Yeah I know python is pretty good as I did do it for a while but couldn't find any good tutorials out there.

I believe "Digital goods" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=93.0) should be a more suitable place for your thread.

It's been moved. sorry about that
688  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2012 Casascius 5 BTC Error MS65 on: July 12, 2014, 02:56:59 PM
Whats the price you are looking for this? Might be better listing it here instead of having god knows how many people message you.
689  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite car????? on: July 12, 2014, 02:52:11 PM
My favorite car is BMW E34 525i. I know it is old but for me it is best car ever made because it looks awesome,it is nice to drive and it has powerful engine Cheesy

powerful engine? its magnificent and is one of my favorite cars. which is odd considering its age.

javascript indeed.

you can try lynda.com for videos

Thanks for that. Believe it or not I have never heard of lynda.com before and it seems like it has a wide variety of different videos for different subjects!

I forget to mention that hilariousandco only registered in nov 2013! That's got to be a forum record to become a staff member right? (not saying he doesn't deserve it because he does)

Mitzie registered in January. There might be one or two of the other local mods as well. I think I probably spend at least double the amount of time here than everyone else does though haha.

70 days you have been online? WHAT I registered before you and I have only been on 2 days...do you sleep at all?

I forget to mention that hilariousandco only registered in nov 2013! That's got to be a forum record to become a staff member right?

Nope, I became moderator at exactly 5th month of my registration. Mitzie had the same timeframe. (Activity was 140 at that time)

Wow that's pretty impressive you must of reported a lot in that time frame.

Maybe?

Are you crazy? I think you are.
693  Other / Off-topic / Re: Want to learn a programming language. on: July 12, 2014, 02:46:36 PM
I'd recommend to anyone to start with Javascript.

One of the ones I would really love to learn. Do you know any websites, books or videos which present it well and I can learn relatively easy with?
694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now is like MP3s were in 1995.. on: July 12, 2014, 02:45:12 PM
haha, nice story  Cheesy

BTC will be so easy or invisible in some years that even the average joe will use it.

Before that happens. we need it to be taught in schools.
695  Other / Off-topic / Want to learn a programming language. on: July 12, 2014, 02:40:49 PM
I've posted about this before and started to program in ruby. but I started to find it boring maybe the information and videos were not explaining well enough for me.

I want to start a new programming language. But I want to know what would be the best programming language for Bitcoin related projects. as I think doing projects for something I love would encourage me more to finish learning it. I also take a very long time to learn things. so I would like a really easy tutorial or video series (or book) to talk to me like i'm a 5 year old with examples if possible. If you know any program language which is worth learning and is easy to get going please let me know.
696  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: July 12, 2014, 02:28:29 PM
To be affirmed or denied, I guess?
You mean to be or not to be, is that the question?

I'm confused. What?
697  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Poll] Which team will win the World Cup 2014? on: July 12, 2014, 02:20:37 PM
I knew brasil wouldn't win the world cup from the beginning they have a few good players but the rest are in the shadows of those valuable members. Germany should win and they deserve to win.
Don't forget Messiah bestow Argentina  Grin
This final will create another big history...

If is performances are anything to go by....he won't make much of a difference. Germany are one hell of a force with multiple people capable of goal scoring and defending. their sub bench is better than brasils squad.
698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are girls using Bitcoins? on: July 12, 2014, 02:13:38 PM
Ofcourse there will be girls/women who use Bitcoin, but in far less quantity's then boy's/men do i'd imagine.

How many 60+ age peope use Bitcoin? That's a far more difficult question to ask I think.

Not many 60+ I would say only a\ handful and we would be surprised by the actual figure.
699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happened to the 184 Billion Bitcoins created in Aug 2010? on: July 12, 2014, 02:11:05 PM
Good thing Bitcoin wasn't popular at the time this happened.

Should I end this delightful little chain of unanswered questions with a full-stop?
Why would you do that you party popper?

Boredom, I suppose?

You suppose? What kind of question is that?
