681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain working? on: November 29, 2014, 10:08:46 AM
Are you talking about blockchain.info? If not, which wallet software are you talking about?

(I see no problems with bc.i or bitcoin core at my end)

682  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: November 29, 2014, 09:53:42 AM
I added a location, an ATM, about a week ago and it doesn't show on coinmap.org  Any suggestions?

Post some more info (where, node number etc) and we might be able to help.
683  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pilipinas (Philippines) on: November 28, 2014, 06:21:44 PM
I just got a reply from the guys at buytrezor. The most they can give me is a 22% discount if we get 1000 units. That means the price drops to $92.

It's still cheaper just to mine a bit on slush pool and get the bigger discount.

3 for 2 discount currently. Shipping is included. I had no problems with customs as they are marked as cheap USB sticks on the invoice.

Sorry for the Xpost (Habanero thread), but the latest cgminer supports:

Quote
- Hashfast voltage support for Yoli/Habanero/Bitcrane etc. boards (see ASIC-README)

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg9431142#msg9431142

Built it and it's looking good so far!

Don't know what the problem was, I had also tried to hard reset to master to no avail. I then removed the cgminer folder entirely and cloned again and it showed v4.7.1 (git tag -l), but it still built 4.7.0. I then selected 4.7.1 manually (git checkout tags/v4.7.1) and that finally did the trick.

Thank you!

Spotted this when building on a RPi with --enable-hashfast:
Quote
./configure: line 11925: -pthread: command not found
A quick search in the tread showed this error in reference to Avalon devices.

As far as I can tell it has no influence on running cgminer in this case, however.

689  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: can I run my antminers with pyrit? on: November 04, 2014, 04:18:03 PM

No, the only thing an ASIC SHA256 miner can do, is SHA256 mining.

New release: Version 4.7.1, 4th November 2014
[...]

As far as I can tell github is still at 4.7.0? I was looking forward to the Hashfast addition and just pulled and built, but 4.7.0 is the latest tag ( git tag -l ). So, now I wonder is it in there or not yet?
691  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cooling micro data center for miners on: November 04, 2014, 03:17:41 PM
You can spend a ton on cabinets... immersion... i think in end you will figure out most use lots and lots of air.   They extract the heat with massive amount of air.

I hope i'm wrong and you make a huge amount, I always wish business with bitcoins luck.  But in this case i think you  will find eventually most use air (fans, cooling, etc) and will not spend the money for the cabinets with cooling in them or immersion.

And on top of that most miners are tinkerers too. So if they really want to do fridge/immersion they will find a way and in the process realise it's cheaper to build something locally.

Hi All,

We just updated the site, which means that the new fee structure is live now. And some pairs have been delisted. If you had any orders pending in the delisted pairs, those orders have been canceled. We delisted KRW (Korean won) pairs and anyone with KRW in their balance can withdraw to their bank.
[...]

Just realised this. Any particular reason for dropping the KRW? Volume?

There is something fishy about all this.  Huh

No kidding, notice the similarity of the level of English of lauraallen and in the quote?

But maybe it's one big misunderstanding?

So, you are saying this is one of your addresses at blockchain.info and you can't access it anymore?

698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I warned you on: November 03, 2014, 02:50:22 PM
There is no such thing as manipulation for a peer to peer currency.

Traders around the world will buy if there is a perceived discount for bitcoin.
Exchanges are not peer to peer ...

Exactly. I'm afraid there's not much we can do about price manipulation and it really is disheartening. There's no way to tell what the current value of bitcoin is and even the peak price looks to have been manipulated to there.

Exactly , I agree with #turvarya . It is only a question of manipulation and the exchanges don't help the "peer-to-peer" idea.
On the good site: You can make peer-to-peer-trades with openbazar(when it has finished) and I have heard of another peer-to-peer-exchange-project(but forgot the name)

You already can make peer to peer trades today. That is not the problem. The problem is the price discovery. Because even person to person trades will be based on an exchange rate / index published somewhere (give or take a few percent).
