Yes it is, as I said earlier, Cryptocoderz only pushes updates when making a new software release that is completely tested. That's why there can be many weeks between updates.

I don't know what EPS is. If you mean ESP, then the answer is yes. You can check if you are staking using the info symbols in the lower left.

3. Then probably some more internal tweaking?
4. At some point masternodes. That's quite a few months from now.



Staking and mining are two different things, what exactly do you want to accomplish?

@wttbs, I'm not a dev but I know that Cryptocoderz is currently overhauling the entire PoS system to increase its usability for everybody. The POS/POW ratio was meant to be 50/50 but currently obviously isn't, that's also something that he is working on.

@JollyGood The purpose of Espers is to enable services on blockchain - messages, websites, sending and receiving data, cross-chain communication ... It's not primarily meant as a currency to buy external goods for, but of course that is theoretically possible. Maybe there could later be websites which offer specific on-chain services that accept Espers, i.e. paid services that run on the Espers blockchain.

Each service will be running on its own side-chain, and Masternode operators can decide which service they want to support, e.g. messaging or an in-wallet marketplace to buy goods through. That idea is a bit far into the future though  

Currently Cryptocoderz is working on fixing the PoS issues, and after that he plans to work on a prototype for websites on blockchain.



Even Cryptocoderz himself doesn't know it yet.   So no.

Also the strategy is interesting, everybody wants free coins, but we don't even know what this project will be yet.

THIS project is going to be the leader of them and will be pretty big itself!  I wonder when investors will finally see the potential of the ideas we got here. There's not much marketing going on yet tbh.

This is not a company that makes "income" in that sense. It's a cryptocurrency project. You get stakes by supporting the network with PoS.

Could you elaborate a bit on this? Who are the developers? Are they known in this community?

Also what is the difference to SpectreCoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1704473.0) which seems to be doing exactly what you are saying, and it's only a minor milestone on the Spectre roadmap. The Spectre network already runs 100% between in-wallet Tor nodes.

I can explain to you what the problems are. It's not a big secret.

Low funds raised via ICO => Slow development => a lot of missed deadlines and only one part-time dev (jbg) working on it for a long time.

That reduces trust and confidence among investors, especially big investors. That along with often non-existent communication from the project lead (mandica) and low transparency makes it low value to the whale. Messages from other people offering help and money have often been simply ignored. Both of the two core team members (mandica and jbg) had health problems / accidents at some point and were out of the game for some weeks. So that's a factor of bad luck adding on top.

Good news are:

• There is still some slow progress happening
• A second dev has been included into the project, from what I have heard.
• There is now an announcement channel in Slack that is hopefully going to be used more frequently.
• And of course the concept itself is very promising.

According to market theory, these problems are already included into the current price, so if you have the impression that the problems will be resolved in the future (as I do), now is a good moment to risk some money on it as it is a typical example of an undervalued coin.

Espers has a market cap of 9 Million USD which is not so bad for 650 pages of text.



Through people selling their coins who think that 18 sat is a fair price, obviously.  

As I said earlier, patience is the key to successful investing! Many people aren't patient, they rather take a small profit now than a big one later. I assume that in a few months, the price will be at least 4x the current price.

Thanks Colin for your detailed explanations. Maybe I'm just too much of an "radical decentralizer" but your approach is not how I would do it (or like to see it being done). I'm sure it has some potential though, especially the transparency aspect. Also I don't like fixed-price ICO's unless they are really cheap, lol. You don't sound like you want to do it really cheap though, which is only fair and totally up to you.

Just for reference, if someone reading here would like to try a different approach that is more similar to Yacy, with Nodes being rewarded for their work (like supporting the network, indexing, forwarding traffic, caching etc.), and users paying those nodes for their work right from the beginning rather than as a "to be done later"-goal, feel free to contact me!   Especially if you have people who would like to do the actual work, because I'm more of an investor hehe.

It also depends on the coin supply. If there would be only 10 ESP, each of them would be worth a tenth of the current market cap. But there are 20 Billion ESP, so each of them is worth a 20 Billion-th of the current market cap. Which is a small number.  

Sorry, but no it doesn't ease my concerns at all. I understand your viewpoint but this is not how it works; you will get money from new investors, not the old ones, so you need to make this attractive to the new investors. Your current ICO setup is very unattractive, at least for me (maybe someone else like it), for the reasons stated above.

You seem to be honest and I really like that you want to revive this project!  But this is not how it will work for me, sorry.
