682  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Biggest Wins with lowest risks in Casino History on: October 17, 2022, 10:00:39 AM
In my opinion, luck is more involved than gambling experience, though experience also has its importance.
We cannot rely on mere experience only, chance is also active or, should I say, more engaged in gambling.
We have seen several examples where lucky people take all due to their luck. Also, I agree to accept the minimum risk if you don't have enough money.

These types of ratings can never be perfect due to different user experiences.
All these types of ratings can be based on different parameters which cannot apply to all users. Also, these ratings are variable from time to time due to changes in user experience and trends toward them.
684  Economy / Economics / Re: The Bank of England decided to resume QE on: October 17, 2022, 09:50:19 AM
"This Market Notice sets out details of the Bank’s temporary purchases of long-dated UK government bonds from 28 September 2022.

As set out in the accompanying press notice, in line with the Bank of England’s financial stability objective, the Bank will carry out purchases of long dated gilts in a temporary and targeted way. The purpose of these purchases is to restore orderly market conditions. "

I think resuming quantitative easing is way too early to increase the liquidity in its financial system; in my opinion, the current economic conditions of the UK aren't that suitable to resume QE while raising the critical rate.
Moreover, it would badly impact the Bank of England's stability, and restoring orderly market conditions would be challenging.
685  Economy / Economics / Re: 23 Countries Now Abandoning US Dollar on: October 17, 2022, 09:48:33 AM
A new world monetary system is being set up right now which will completely kill the US dollar, which is the world's reserve currency.

23 countries (60% of the world's GDP) are setting up swap lines which bypass the dollar and SWIFT, which is the dollar-based worldwide financial transaction system.

If the countries abandon the US dollar, establish a new currency, what will be the impact on the US dollar?

It seems pretty interesting, but Practically, it would be impossible to replace the USD at once.
It all depends upon the acceptability and adaptability of the new currency they are willing to trade.
Also, the Bretton Woods system would make it more difficult to abandon US Dollar for the sake of ultimately killing the US Dollar.

686  Economy / Economics / Re: Against the British pound, Bitcoin trade volume shoots up!! on: October 17, 2022, 09:44:55 AM
With inflation hitting the UK and causing financial unrest, some experts look to Bitcoin as they feel it could make a positive impact on their some what unstable economy..
According to data shared by James Butterfill, head of digital assets at Coinshares, shows that trade volume with Bitcoin as against the British pound climbed to a high of $881m as of Monday, 26th Sept.!

Meanwhile, the average trade volume between BTC/GBP on a daily is about $70m, invariably meaning an increase compared to the standard of 1,160%.

With the rate at which the GBP tends to experience volatility, it would only be wise to look at other means. Like becoming a Bitcoin hub for instance, since adopting it will seem a bit of a stretch, Gabor Gubarcs tweet summarized.
Furthermore, this decline in finance in the UK seemed to have become noticed since the introduction of Prime Minister, Liz Truss' fiscal policies, an analysis proved.

Yes, it increased. The current inflation rate in the UK (as compared to the rest of the world) is very high.
This has changed many people's trend to start investing in the Bitcoin market.
Also, another critical factor is the dramatic fall in the value of the British pound against the USD. I think this can cause a massive volume shoot-up in the bitcoin trade.

688  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker tournaments why tournaments in other games on: October 16, 2022, 10:47:42 AM
A lot of poker game tournaments have been announced on this board over time, and am I kind of wondering what makes poker games so inclined to the tournament and we don't see such competitions being announced for other games?

I think all this is because it's more popular than the others. People like it more than any other also, skills and luck both are involved in these games, which makes it more attractive than any other, also people are more familiar with the rules of the games and have a better understanding of them.
689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 10 years ago on: October 16, 2022, 09:57:36 AM
I think you may want to check your figures and move the decimal point a bit ?
Nonetheless, if you’ve been holding since 2012- good on ya  Smiley
Lol yeah, the difference is just $7K and gold are performing better than Bitcoin Tongue

Actually it's pointless to compare the early year of Bitcoin with the current year because Bitcoin price is really cheap on 2010, while Bitcoin price right now is already worth for $19K-ish which is the gap is too far. If you compare each day on 2010 and each day on 2022, all of them are gain and there's no day where Bitcoin price on 2022 lower than 2010.

I don't know why you think gold is performing better than bitcoin, but when you look at the growth of bitcoin compared to gold you'll realize what you're saying is untrue.

Networth of bitcoin 19K$/Bitcoin Is much more when you take into consideration all time gold value and compare it with bitcoin's all time value.
690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins? on: October 16, 2022, 09:44:01 AM
I first got into crypto in February this year however did not start investing in Bitcoin until June after the crash as I felt it was too expensive until then.

The value's downfall started somewhere around feb-april, now it's the best time to buy bitcoin before it's too late and 60k resistance becomes new support in a few years.

I mean how high can Bitcoin realistically go in the next 2-3 years? £150k maybe which would be less then 10x compared to other altcoins that can 20-50x when the bull run returns.

I think it can hit somewhere around 120-150 k USD in the next 2-3 years with a market cap of around 1.5 trillion, again it's the best time to buy bitcoin- 19k USD is undervalued bitcoin.

Just wondering if everyone invests in Bitcoin or is it worth just focusing on strong altcoins that can 20-50x in the next few years?

I'd say bitcoin for longterm, I've seen most of the alt coins die pretty quickly unless they're given shoutout by a famous person look at the example of DogeCoin, it almost hit 1$/Doge due to Elon musk's hype.

I know I have got into Bitcoin at a good price but just feel while altcoins are currently 85-95% down from all time high may be better making the most of that rather then being safe with Bitcoin and not seeing much return.

Bitcoin is good for long term while altcoins for short-term.
691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Inflation and why bitcoin? on: October 16, 2022, 09:29:34 AM
We are in a time of crisis and I have to say that inflation is so high, it affects everything. A lot of people have been expecting bitcoin to exert its anti-inflation properties, and then things didn't go as expected, assets like bitcoin are not immune to short-term negative effects. I see that many people are starting to be negative and skeptical about bitcoin's ability to fight inflation.

But if we don't just look at the short term but look at the long term, looking to the future. We'll see what bitcoin can do.

+ In 2010: with 10,000BTC we will buy 2 pizzas.
+ In 2016: with 100BTC we can buy a car.
+ In 2022: with only 10BTC we will buy a house, maybe many countries will not need 10BTC to own a house, sometimes only 3BTC to 5BTC.

The value of bitcoin will only rise as time goes on, people will realize the value of bitcoin if they don't already.
I think BTC has the potential of reaching a 5 Trillion market cap in the next 10 years.

Those 10k bitcoin pizza story is also mind boglin~
692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can this be the reason some people are afraid to invest in Bitcon? on: October 15, 2022, 05:38:08 AM
The typical human mind initially considers the fictitious drawbacks and rejects the possibility of another type of money. However, a growing number of individuals are visiting exchanges like Binance, Primexbt, Kraken, etc. People are afraid because they were taught to be afraid as child. This is, unfortunately, what the educational system does.

I am also a victim. Wish I had joined this forum earlier.

Unfortunately, schools don't provide knowledge of marketing and dealing with stocks.
Only business degrees start to unveil the truth that many people thought of a big deal.

Ads of these companies above you mentioned, Binance, etc have their ads running on youtube, which are good in my opinion.
Again but having a hardware wallet is better than having running one on the internet all the time.
693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I helped my dad bought some Bitcoin last night on: October 15, 2022, 05:31:55 AM
When I got home last night, my dad and I are eating some chicharon a.k.a. pork rinds while watching basketball on TV. Then suddenly my dad showed to me his iPad about Binance to check if its legit or not. I said that it’s legit once he installs the correct app and not the fake one.

It's good if you know the correct finance app to install, many people have fallen to the traps of installing scammy unofficial apps of cypto marketplaces.
Did you dad cam to know about finance through google ads on youtube?

I have never convinced or forced him to buy BTC since I started my journey. He’s just being interested in all of a sudden that’s all. So I educated him about the basics, managing financial risks, fees, etc., letting him understand and acknowledge that there are no promises or astronomical guaranteed returns. I also sign him up on Binance using my referral link and assisted him in setting up 2FA, KYC, etc.

Like I asked above did you dad came to know regarding bitcoin through a youtube ad?, if yes then it was explained to him pretty well in the video.
You also did good by letting him know the truth that there are no promises.
