AvoidTags within brackets or abbreviationsSome people like to put "tags" in the title within brackets. Like "[GLBSE] [ANNOUNCE] ASDF: Generic asset". I personally don't like this style. I prefer to include the tag info within the sentence, like "Announcing ASDF, a generic asset on GLBSE". When tags are really necessary, it may indicate that a new subforum should be created.
Newspaper capitalizationUse normal capitalization, not "newspaper capitalization". "Thread title style guide" instead of "Thread Title Style Guide". Capitalize the first letter of the title unless it a trademark like "eMachines".
TimepointsIf the title is composed of only one sentence, don't include a period at the end. If it contains two or more sentences, put a period after each sentence, including the last. Questions must end with a question mark.
Unnecessary hedgingDon't overuse hedges, because your sentence will become more difficult to understand Remote verbKeep your key words and verb stay as closely as possible because remote verbs will blurr what you want to say. "Merit system, after its about 2 years history, and few adjustments, has reduced spam"This one is better: "Merit system reduces spam, after two years"RespectivelyIn case you present a long list of things ( >= 4), with figures, you should avoid using respectively, because readers will have to backwards read objects you mention and compare with figures you present. ShouldKey words/ hooks- To catch attention of readers
- Should be put at the beginning of title.
- Key words immediately disclose what you want to bring to readers
"Users were affected to rank up"There are so many reasons, so if you want to point out exactly merit system as a cause, you should use this title "Merit system affects rank-up speed of users"I use two keywords: merit system, and rank-up speed (to emphasize that the effect is on rank-up speed, not de-rank speed). - Use declarative title to say what you found, rather than question mark (?)
"Does merit system affect rank-up speed of users?"With this one, readers don't know what you will present in your thread. They will easily think that you ask for reasons, rather than present your findings and things that you think are reasons. Condensation of your title- Keep it as short as possible (to save reading time of readers, catch more attention, and to satisfy character limitations)
- Omit all needless, superfluous words (includes useless adjectives): they obscure meanings and distract readers to main points
- If your thread title is not interesting, not attractive (lack of keywords, hooks, too long), they will ignore your thread
"Merit system over its two year history possibly affects the general rank-up speed of users"This one is too long. If I am reader, I will ignore it. You can apply those things for your posts, to make your topic sentence more attractive, and more informative. I usually ignore posts that written without topic sentence. If someone want to make comparison of Ethereum performance between years, they should do comparison between the year of 2015 and 2019. I don't understand why OP compared performance of Ethereum between 2017 and 2019, TBH. General conditions of crypto market are very different between two years, from bitcoin domination to other external factors (outside crypto) like political isusses, Trade-war, e.g.
Don't worry too much, in worst case, Ethereum will 'only' fall to around 0.008 BTC per ETH. You won't lose all your money invested in Ethereum, and it is much better than investments in lots of other shit altcoins.

This will generate a BBcode link which you can use to post images. You are wrong. Everyone can post image links, but newbies can not display images with their posts. They only can display image when they rank up to Junior Member, with one earned merit (at least) and enough activity (at least 30). Due to excessive garbage-posting, you now need 1 merit to be a Jr Member. All existing Jr Members who didn't meet the requirement were demoted. Also, newbies can no longer set any signature or personal text. < ... > Many of these limitations can be eliminated with a copper membership. In particular, you can set a signature at Member level if you wear a copper membership. It is important to verify sim cards, before using them as one of tool for email protections, exchanges accounts, or whichever platforms that allow 2FA security via SMS code verification. It is stupid to active 2FA security via sim-card verification code, then losing the sim card due to it is pre-paid one. I do not use pre-paid card for important things, but anyway you raised valuable points for newbies, whom have neither known nor cared about that.  |

I believe that my thread, Available courses on Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology from colleges and Universities, is enough for a beginner in blockchain, but as you see in above article, blockchain education has grown fastly so my thread my be outdate (due to my lack of time to check those new-born courses). I appreciated @boyptc for that post, because it helps people whom have still not known how to search for blockchain courses to do it themselves. Visit those two sites, and use keyword: Blockchain, then enter Search button. It's easy to find online courses. I will edit my thread with that step. |

There are abundant scammers, and attackers around us, especially when price of bitcoin has not stopped increasing over years, and blockchain technology and its usages have more widely accepted and spreaded over the globe.
There are benefits, there are abusers whom never stop adapting to any changes and upgrades of AVs and security methods. To protect themselves, crypto enthusiasts have to kept fundamental rules in mind and keep obeying those rules:
(1) Don't be greedy (with give-aways, bonuses, tips that sent to their emails through strangers)
(2) Don't over curious (with extensions, add-ons, etc.)
(3) Don't naively give strangers control (partial or full) controls of their devices / wallets, such as remote control (Team Viewer, private keys, seeds, e.g.)
Threats changed over time, but basic strategies from scammers and attackers have never changed.

We shouldn't use even smartphones if you ask me because it's one of the most vulnerable things to malicious viruses in general and most people don't even have anything like AV installed in their smartphones because either they are not aware or they are too over-smart. Most of the hacks nowadays take place through these Android applications and if such extension is installed in your chrome browser and you've allowed some permissions to your browser, I guess your coins are at stake because this extension will have some sort of code or patch injected in it that'll come with it after installation and it'll fetch all the data from your mobile and send it to hacker. So not only are your coins and privkeys, but your data also isn't so safe if you blindly download anything.
People are safely use their smartphones if they don't store any crypto on their phones, don't log in exchange accounts, don't log in their important emails. Unfortunately, people tend to use their phones for important things (like above ones), and don't install AV softwares. Even I don't log in my main emails or my exchange accounts on phones or other mobile devices (like tablets), I still feel unsafe. For apps, that need to use for daily expenses, I only store very limited funds. I am careful to make sure that just in case when worst things happen, I won't lose too much money. With or without AV softwares, mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) or desktop computers/ laptops, having good and healthy web-surfing habit is the most important thing to protect our devices, identities and funds. |

With very cheap price of DASH, smart investors will accumulate more cheap DASH coins, and some of them will use their coins to run DASH masternodes. I know that not all investors will have enough funds and hardware infracstructure to do this. Since the latest upgrade of DASH, total active masternodes dropped deeply (as the chart shows), but finally total active nodes have recovered impressively and nearly reached its all time high. I believe that in next one or two months (or sooner) we will witness new all time high of total DASH active masternodes. |

It is not fair and not what theymos aims at. There is no newbie jail, and newbies have rights to create their topics, includes self-moderated ones. I mentioned about it in my above posts: - Sell-moderated topics have: total posts deleted, and how many users have posts deleted. - Scam accusation is a good tool. - Trust & different kind of flags. If there is something should be consider, I think of: - An option (as same as PM option) that users can choose to see threads created by Newbies or not. Ignore newbie thread option. If a user choose that option, s/he does not see threads created by newbies, but if those newbies rank up, their threads will be automatically visible. |

If anybody decides to use this extension, just make sure you only use it on your personal computer. Don't log in to your Chrome on other devices as it would synchronize and possibly make your private data left in public.
Don't forget to not input any sensitive data there, such as a password.
Additionally, don't use computers in which crypto currencies stored to install and use extensions from third-parties. If people don't use cold storage, computers in which they store crypto wallets should be used only for wallet upgrades (from official websites). Keeping those special computers as safely as possible will keep their crypto safely from threats. Only opening those computers to download wallet upgrades, and installing new versions of wallets. Then, when upgrades finished, shut down computers to avoid distractive interests (like web surfing, and others unsafe things). |

It's not and im still using it right now and it's a trusted exchange site but i suggest you never try to send a big amount to decrease the risk. But so far even without any verification process but that was having a good support and my tx gets delivered even faster compared another exchange site which was putting very strict verification process.
Crex24 is a good exchange, especially if you want to trade with tiny coins. As always, I warn others that they never should store their crypto directly on exchanges if they don't want to trade. Whenever they finish their trading plans, withdraw all funds to wallets that they have control of private keys or seeds. In crypto, if you don't hold private keys or seeds, you don't hold any coins. They do not belong to you. Storing crypto on exchanges (whichever exchanges, big or small) contains some kind of risks: - Exchanges hacked - Exchanges taken over by authorities (due to money laundering, or whatever legal issues) - Exchanges do scam exits. |

I don't have bad feelings about self-moderated ANN threads. Sure it is not a good signal of one project, but I don't think ANN threads can harm anyone. If you think a project is a scam one, let's make a scam accusation with proof. I don't see mandatory reasons to post in their ANN threads, just to show proof of their scams. For self-moderated ANN threads, above topic title, you can see the line: "This is a self-moderated topic. If you do not want to be moderated by the person who started this topic, create a new topic. (X posts by Y users deleted.)"
Paying attention on X, and Y figures, then you can have an overview on how serious they censor posts in their threads. In some boards, like Goods, Currency exchange, I agree that self-moderated threads should not be allowed. |

Reporting 5 year post is useless I guess because its not going to help the forum,there are lot of spams were created everyday why not report them just instead of five year old.
It is not wrong if someone reports posts that made 2 or 5 years ago, if it is bad posts. However, there are some reasons that we should avoid that approach: (1) Forum resources are limited. Staffs and moderators have bunches of works, hundreds or thousands of reports to handle, and they also have to do their own reports too (from staffs to global moderators and admins). Therefore, they should focus their time and energy for most important things, that is lively now, rather than dead ones from years ago. (2) It is too difficult and time-consuming to dig deeply in to the past (years ago), so judge old posts are off-topic (e.g.) or not and handle them. (3) Effects from handling those bad posts are not too significant, so I agreed with your opinion. (4) If someone find proof of plagiarism, I agree that they should do report, but if reasons are different than plagiarism (off-topic, e.g.), I think bad posts that have more than 2 years old should be ignored. |

Even getting an altcoin campaign is hard as well. Most of the projects manage their bounty by themselves or hire experience one. No one wants to hire a manager with 0 portfolio. I'm trying to get bounty management as well  Everyone ask have you ever managed bounty? Me- No. And they directly say sorry. There's nothing much you can do other than waiting for luck. I wish your luck assist you getting your first project Thanks. I believe that quality of user makes sense, besides past managed campaigns. If I look at my career here, began from scratch, then become a Hero Member, that I did not imagine I can reach two years ago; I have more belief that I can build up my campaign management career here as well. Time will tell, but I will never give up. |

Initially, I would like to make a thread for two statistics, activity and amount of merits distributed over local boards on daily basis. I have this idea for a long time ago, but LoyceV felt difficult to give me such data (or he did not catch my ideas, not sure). Then, days ago, I saw that topic: [Stats] Local Boards Activity, which brought the idea to make my thread about that issue back. Thanks for @DTalk for that great topic, and @DdmrDdmr for data dump as well as great explanation and link to Wayback Machine. I will find out more about Wayback Machine for further update of the thread. Notes:

OBJECTIVES- Statistics on merit distribution (daily) over boards in median, interquartile range, mean, standard deviations - Box plots of daily merit distribution over boards
ABSTRACTObserved period: 01/07/2019 - 29/08/2019 (1) Median of daily merits over all sub-sections is 2, and interquartile range (IQR) is 0 to 9. (2) Highest subsection in terms of median of daily merits is Russian , at 52; the second and third highest is Turkish (at 11), and German (at 10). Some other subsections that have significant median of daily merits are Arabic, and Pilipinas (at 9), French (at 8 ), Indonesian (at 7), and Italian (at 6). (3) Lowest subsection in terms of median of daily merits are Chinese, Dutch, Greek, Japanese, Romanian, Others, at 0. (4) Minimum and maximum of daily merits (over all subsections) are 0 and 231, that was found in Russian board, while the maximum of daily merits in German board is a little lower at 201. (5) Over 60 days, the top 5 subsections are Russian (3440, 35.1%), German (1070, 10.9%), Turkish (852, 8.7%), Pilipinas (821, 8.4%), and French (708 , 7.2%). Figures displayed in sum and percent, respectively.

The 2013 alt bubble, all 40-50 of them, was 'hey, if Bitcoin is doing it, why not this?'
2017 had ICOs which dragged up literally everything.
The next one won't have ICOs. It might have 'why not this?' but if there is a next time Bitcoin will be doing it on the strength of professional money and infrastructure that no alt will have. That'll make them a lot less convincing than the past.
No doubt something'll happen. Attempting to predict what is impossible.
They will do have their third bubble year, but it will be kind of very different one than 2017 bubble. In addition, their bubble will also depends upon bitcoin growth in 2020 and 2021. You are right that right now, it is too early to predict anything in next one or two years. Simply enjoy altcoin bottoms, and accumulate good and cheap altcoins. Because of the market selection has become harsher last two years, I only try to screen, investigate and choose best altcoins (from my own criteria) for next two years. There is no reason and no benefit to make bets in shit altcoins. |

I seriously doubt the amount of stupidity and greed has waned, it's just waiting for an excuse to emerge again. I couldn't believe the insulting shit that was happening in 2017. I fully expect to be flabbergasted again.
I don't think it'll ever be as manic again but things will move despite almost all of them being empty junk that has achieved absolutely nothing.
The 2017 alt bubble kicked off when the Winklevoss ETF was denied. That was alts' signal that Bitcoin wouldn't be fully legitimised over them. This time around Bitcoin really is being legitimised in a way they never will be but it's happening in slow motion instead.
There are always new investors, whom will be trapped into manic market, and even old investors whom have not yet really learned any lessons from their past failed investments, will do fall into their past steps and mistakes again. What happened with altcoins in 2017 is not their first time, right? In that year, old altcoins woke up and moved to their past all time highs or set their new ATHs. I meant they repeated their price movements in 2017. So if bitcoin actually repeats its history, why not altcoins repeat theirs, for the third time? I agree that it is hard for them to set new all time highs in alt/btc pairs, and if such amazing things happen it will occur only for very good altcoins (good developers, good usecases, and strong communities - that will boost their price when active flags come. |
