7081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo LTC Image and Support thread on: June 11, 2020, 03:29:36 PM
After a power outage this past Monday, the miner on my Apollo will no longer start. The node starts just fine, but the miner is offline and fails to start... with no error messages displayed when I attempt to start it. I've tried fully shutting down the Apollo, disconnecting the power, and powering it back on - but the miner never starts (only the node starts).

My Apollo (and the official PSU) is on a pretty hefty surge protector, so I don't think it sustained electrical damaged. (Plus, it seems unlikely that electrical damage would leave the Apollo partially functional like this).

My guess is that the issue was caused by it failing to shutdown properly during the outage (during which time the power flickered on and off several times).

Any ideas? Do I need to reimage the SD card and start over?

I'm running Apollo Web v0.1.0 beta.

if the node is working - I would leave the usb drive alone as it stand now, and just try re-imaging the sd card.

damn if it included the psu - i might be tempted - do you recall what the power draw is on these? I can look it up when I get home but if you know, please list it here.

~850 watts. If you need a more accurate number let me know I'll have someone at the data center pull it from the rack and plug it into a separate power supple and put a meter on it.
Might take a few hours. Don't know how busy they are.

that is close enough - so it can easily run on 110v would an apw3++ work for it? I have never seen an R4 up close to see what the connectors are like.

55 watts per th isnt bad especially if you can run them on 110v - will allow for a lot more home mining if they have decent electricity.
7088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New s9 upgrade thread. some info is up. on: June 11, 2020, 03:19:19 AM
let me know when they come available, I still have one S9 I could swap them in on and see how it works. 1 or 2 boards would be great as it could run on 110 v - with proper fans maybe even be decent enough to put in the house lol

thinking of my grandson who wants to mine but has no job so he is not getting any large power hungry asic lol

also  that is near the high range of what they are going for on eBay - there is another one, though yours looks to be in better condition, that is going for 1500 on ebay with 3 days left -and it took 35 bids to get it to 1500

they are damn awesome either way lol and yes, why haven't any rioters gotten one?

neither of his accounts have been on for a while - the main one off line since 2017 and the new one offline since Nov 2019.

Maybe something happened to him? who knows? but the point everyone here makes over and over is that the pool cannot be trusted as it is not paying correctly. Everyone needs to STOP mining here.

If you look back at posts, you will see that M blocks haven't been paying out for a while.  Also DOGE blocks are not being credited to the finder.

agreed it amazes me how many keep mining here! I stopped as soon as I saw there was issues.  I guess they hope it just goes right for them!

Dear user 136CrBTFqaLShQVTzhH2MRUauRrrzP7JbG please fix your miners. You have been connecting and disconnecting continuously hundreds of thousands of times for months now without ever successfully mining, so I have blocked your IP address.
Um, that comes up as a BCH/BSV address which would be invalid on this (BTC) pool...
lol i wonder how much hash he has been tossing at the pool when there isnt a chance in hell of him mining/getting a reward lol

for your number 7 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253996.0  though not sure if it is the Chicago style or not - I am not familiar with the book, but I did see it matches the title you listed.

It was a special edition made for the event, "Voice of Blockchain"

ahh, very nice! thanks for the clarification. I love the knowledge base here!
