6161  Economy / Collectibles / [RAFFLE] Limited Edition Pizza Edition Ledger Wallet 16 slots open - closed on: July 24, 2020, 04:14:13 PM
I won this in a dual raffle (I was going for the other prize) from Lesbian Cow. Somehow - not assigning blame to Lesbian Cow because I do not really know if the tape was placed on the plastic or my pulling off the taped bubblewrap caused it but the sealed wrapper around the Ledger was damaged.

I took the opportunity to open and take a full set of pictures. I never plugged in the device or turned it on.

So, as this is an extra - I have decided to raffle it off here.

Shipping: Free in the United States - International at winners expense (I will cover the first $10)

Price per spot: 0.001 BTC

Payment address: 1MoparCzLLgVhFjLMo9iS4a8qeEMpF3EeJ

It means that only with code 1, it is impossible for someone to steal the virtual color.
it is? I hope it is so

except it has been shown that you can get the private key/code whatever you want to call it with just a flashlight and shining thru it.

I try and buy physical items for $USD as much as possible. Then you know you always spent X USD on whatever you bought later down the road instead of going oh fuck, I paid XXX USD now that BTC has gone (pick your direction). Crypto can be easier, but why bother when crypto is better than Trump-bucks in the long term? Especially when you have to report all the BTC spends to the IRS anyhow... Grin

maybe - but I still prefer to pay in crypto. If I am cashing out crypto to buy fiat and then use fiat - the whole change in btc value is still in play as it would be if I paid in crypto - the only difference is all the fees associated with fiat.

I almost bought all 16 slots lol .0016 would be a nice price for one lol
6176  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer S19 (95T) for sale on: July 24, 2020, 01:14:01 AM
You are not embarrassed to post such an abysmal offer? This is what can be characterized as a " Guaranteed loser". That sale price, non-hosted... at .04 cents per kwh is a 2 year ROI. Add in your horrible metric, and this pays back......never. I don't understand why people tolerate the insidious nature of these "COLO's". People need to be made aware of this parasitic business model. These businesses contribute nothing more than destructive facets to the space.

not to mention this price is close to 700 over what Bitmain charged for the same unit.
6177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: can anyone identify what pool/exchange this is? on: July 24, 2020, 12:45:34 AM
it is a major payer it has had

over 25,000 btc in and out

it gets tons of coins from this address

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qjl8uwezzlech723lpnyuza0h2cdkvxvh54v3dn

new blocks it hit a block on 7-23 at 17:45

this block is https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/000000000000000000028d93728cf20173e2429fd420b1403f23ad796bc329b7

it is pool.

 BTC.com

btc.com? let me go in and look at my account. I dont recall mining there at all in 2020.

yep it is pool.btc.com - the last payment I show from them in my records is 09/20/2018 - but it came from that same address as the one above.

did they at some time have merged mining that they finally paid out or something?

here is my payment screen nothing since 2018 and it was even a different address than the one I used for btc.com

but at least I can mark it as from them even if I don't know why they paid me.

edit:

in looking back they did have merged mining for NMC, ELA and VCASH which I had no addresses added for those. So maybe they did a clean up and converted them to btc and paid it out - not sure.

Either way, I can consider this closed. Thanks Phil
6178  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [UPDATE] Polymerbit Mystery 3 & 4 on: July 24, 2020, 12:37:35 AM
because I wanted to pay with crypto. ended up closing the page as well.

sounds good, tbh i was trying to buy like 5 Penguins a few weeks ago
and when i couldn't find how to pay in crypto, i just left the site (and now am looking on this board instead for some)

what is wrong with paying by credit card or paypal ?

I bought a couple of penguins when they first came out early this year, paid using Fiat.

Nothing wrong with it - I don't use personal funds, I use the business's funds and my business makes it's revenue in crypto - so to buy in fiat requires that I sell the crypto and get fiat cash - I prefer not to do so as much as possible. I have done it a few time though.
6179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: can anyone identify what pool/exchange this is? on: July 23, 2020, 10:17:42 PM
What was the amount?

.005 btc and change - it was part of a total payment of 25 someodd btc paid out from this one address.

the amount is trivial but the point is I can track down every in/out of every wallet I have except this one damn transaction.
6180  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: July 23, 2020, 09:44:36 PM
I say kudos to him for building a farm... My progress has halted at buying the land. Most of what I had saved up for the building and infrastructure went to supporting my kids/grandkids - the joy and pain of having 8 kids and 10 grandkids lol - during these months of COVID where they were out of work but unable to get unemployment or assistance due to our state/county sites failing - for my daughter to claim one week took almost 6 hours of straight up logging in, starting the process, getting kicked and starting over - repeated over and over.

Had there been no COVID, I most likely would have my 80'x40' building up and then be working at filling it with miners.
