6303  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac / Terminus R606 (BM1387) Official Support Thread on: July 13, 2020, 10:41:26 PM
now I just have to figure out a better os - the one it came with stinks - out of 6 different nodes I tried only one has worked. So gotta look at how to ditch the sd card and just run it off the 2 tb external ssd I have.

i rebooted the pi and am now getting an error -- I found the issue in the Q&A but it doesnt work for me

Q. How to get past "USB init, open device failed" ... "you don't have privilege to access" error.

cd ~/git/vthoang/cgminer/
sudo usermod -G plugdev -a `whoami`
sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
sudo reboot

my guess is the whole cd ~/git because it returns unknown directory.

it was working fine but now it doesnt? just because I rebooted?

when I run lsusb - it shows the miner

edit ---- it was the permissions - it somehow got set back to "only owner" once I changed it to "Anyone" and rebooted it was working smh.
6304  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] "DOGE" 🐕 CRYPTO STAMP 2.0 COMPLETE SET 🔴🟡🔵🟢⚫ on: July 13, 2020, 06:22:19 PM
this just makes it harder to trust buying them second hand though - no guarantee that the person has not already copied the private key - if they are easily obtainable you could be buying a sealed stamp just to find it has already been redeemed - especially when people are openly stating they are going to do this process - though that is not to say the forum members here would then try and sell such redeemed stamps without admitting to do so.
6305  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: July 13, 2020, 04:33:37 PM
well my second order (not the pre-order) just hit New York this morning - so maybe my pre-order is going to arrive soon? I had no tracking provided for the pre-order just an email saying it was on it's way.

My first/only presale order with tracking has been sitting in ISC NY since 7/10 ... Sad

at least you got a tracking for that one.

my pre-order had:

Quote
we have dispatched your sending   today.

there is an extra set of spaces there - kind of like they forgot to put in the tracking?

my second order placed on the opening day had:

Quote
we have dispatched your sending (Recommandé: RR 99 125548 9 AT) today.

6308  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] - Bitcoin Penny 2020 DIY Wallet -- 42 open spots on: July 13, 2020, 01:09:28 PM
OP is updated thru this post -- 48% full

I will be selecting the block at 10 pm Eastern Monday 7/13/2020 (tonight) regardless of how many slots there are left. If the block presents a value that has not been selected, we roll with the next block and so on until a winner is found.

I am still hoping to see some more join though Smiley

ok I am a total rpi noob here ---

i did the following:

Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade -y

sudo apt-get install -y build-essential git libusb-1.0-0-dev libusb-1.0-0 libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev screen libtool automake pkg-config libjansson-dev

mkdir -p git/vthoang; cd git/vthoang
git clone -b r606 https://github.com/vthoang/cgminer.git
cd cgminer

CFLAGS="-O2" ./autogen.sh --enable-gekko
make -j 2

and I see a folder called git/vthoang/cgminer - its has a few other folders and dozens of files. Unless I am missing it - I cannot find the one I need to configure to mine. Am I missing something else here?

edit - I found it - had to find the post that talked about creating the .sh file and then i was good to go. miner is hashing away now to see if it will actually perform better than it did on windows.

I don't see where he requested any specific payment method in the OP - you were the one to suggest pp f&f - he actually said he had never heard of it. --- Just saying. At least as far as I can see in this thread, if there was communication elsewhere then we wouldn't know about it.

edit ---- totally missed the cash/money order part of title. doh

though 9 months stagnant and suddenly back and selling something for around 2k - I would recommend escrow.
6315  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTK] Stonebook: Secure Notebook for crypto on: July 11, 2020, 11:28:25 PM
Yes, well I did post this last year when I was grinding the Stonebook out of creation. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4453897.320
Was wanting to get feedback on the Shieldcrypt method, haha, I fixed the method a bit since then.

I post on reddit weekly just to get the product in front of people looking for a simpler way to store their seed phrases. Regarding the titanium plate cover, it will help with outside protection but unfortunately not in a fire.
I'm currently working on a Multi-layer fireproof bag at the moment, that can withstand the heat comparable to metal plates. I have a prototype finished that will be testing soon. Just to let you know Ive tried other bags but found out theyre not safe in a direct fire situation. It's crazy how these bags get sold on amazon, with people thinking their safe, but in reality they're not. Here is a video on a test I made.  https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3J9XEC8SZ3ZGH?ref=va_cr_lb

What is an advertisement in ANN topic? I'm not too active on bitcointalk.

I plan on getting one of those books soon - if you are working on a bag, I will hold off and get them together - looking forward to it. not for me but for the wife in case I meet an untimely demise lol I dont want it all to be lost lol.
6316  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO - HEADS UP] Lithuania's central bank is releasing LBCOIN. July 23rd 2020 on: July 11, 2020, 09:33:15 PM
Has anyone managed to become verified on this site?  Huh

I will try when I get home.

update:

I stopped at the point where they were wanting me to give them my drivers license - that typically means SSN is next. I am not familiar enough with this country to know if this site is 100% legitimate and even if it is if my information would be secure. I don't see why they need all that info for digital items - take our money, give us our product. end of story.

is this typical? or am I have really shitty luck? 5 of my 11 hivemined blocks did not confirm, with the last 3 in a row that did not.

I have the same luck as you in hive mining of LCC, so I stopped hive mining long time ago Sad

i am just turning whatever it makes back into more bees but the recent loss ratio is astounding.
6319  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Free Raffle] - Bitcoin Penny 2020 DIY Wallet -- 52 open spots on: July 11, 2020, 05:26:49 PM
I highly recommend just putting a time and date on here and spinning it even if it does not fill.  I have done a few of these and TBH I do not think it will fill.  Unfortunately there is a fair amount of cheap people on here that just like free items and only like those items if they are completely free.  The fact the winner has to pay shipping will scare off a fair amount of the cheap users that patrol these waters.  I may start asking for shipping on my freebie raffles going forward to ensure the user actually wants the item..... something I'll ponder for sure.

Good luck and thanks again for this raffle.

I do have a date and time that I will just roll whether full or not. And for the reason you mentioned is the same reason I put for the winner to pay the shipping. It might be 2 or 3 dollars tops, but yes it was done to weed those types out.

I have seen you, rxalts and a few others do this and I figured I had like 24 or 25 of them, giving one away is not a loss to me at all. Smiley

that being said, I hope more do join! I love to see community involvement!
6320  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Earn by Storing Your Cryptos in IBANwallets - FREE $10 for Signup on: July 11, 2020, 05:04:57 AM
^ op never replied any questions, the thread was screaming hyip from start, what do you expect?

lol expected nothing - he is also off now promoting another exchange. go figure. glad I put nothing into it. wondering how many did though.

I'd assume no one did cause i don't see any complaints here  Grin

ha! true and that would be a good thing. kind of want to put a flag against him but without any complaints not sure if it would matter.
