6181  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 256 blocks solved! on: July 23, 2020, 09:44:36 PM
I say kudos to him for building a farm... My progress has halted at buying the land. Most of what I had saved up for the building and infrastructure went to supporting my kids/grandkids - the joy and pain of having 8 kids and 10 grandkids lol - during these months of COVID where they were out of work but unable to get unemployment or assistance due to our state/county sites failing - for my daughter to claim one week took almost 6 hours of straight up logging in, starting the process, getting kicked and starting over - repeated over and over.

Had there been no COVID, I most likely would have my 80'x40' building up and then be working at filling it with miners.

So many people/newbies (including myself at first)! don't realize how awesome poly notes are. I guess that is good for me right now though! Grin

I like the poly notes - just wish I could buy direct with crypto vs paying premium here - a lot cheaper if can be bought direct. but they dont take crypto payments... yet, they have said they will be soon though!

this is a really cool one as well
6183  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: July 23, 2020, 08:56:31 PM
question - when I scan the code on the front of my stamp it takes me to their page and at the bottom of each page it tells me cs2, what animal, what color, the serial number etc

above that it says:

currently owned by:

"random address"

each of mine show a different address.

does this mean someone has already claimed them?

That's the ETH address associated with the STamp and each stamp has it's own eth address.

ok and with the private key under it, I can claim it to my own address? or do i simply claim the address it is on?

You can Claim it to ur address, that way u can add it to ur collections and get a nice achievement..

gotcha - may do this, may not - still waiting on the ones I preordered.

3) 2019 Series B 1st edition Bitcoin Suisse BTC note, unpeeled/unredeemed.

BTC address: 35qKqXMXuhpFtBAiiyxhu8bPEA1oQJZR5T[/b]

question - the one in the pictures, is that the one you are selling or do you have another one? As it appear to have ever been funded.

but based on the "unpeeled/unredeemed" aspect, it makes me think you have a funded one that has not been redeemed?
The note in the pics is the one for sale/trade. It has never been funded. I do not own a funded Suisse note. Does that answer your questions?

yes thanks! just making sure. I bought one once that the image shown was not the one I got - in the image it was a funded one - the one I got was not funded. So, I find it best to ask. Especially if considering to make an offer.

why would the malaysia ones be more expensive? and 200 more than the china sourced ones? I guess what I am asking is what did you pay for them? the advertised 1750? what warrants such a huge markup? At bitmains price and free electricity - if difficulty and price hold, these would be over 12 months roi and that is with FREE electricity. and that is before shipping and tariffs - which would push it out another few months. And we all know diff will go up, it always does. so maybe now 2 years to make roi? which wont happen because in 10-12 months BM will release new miners making it even more impossible for these to make ROI.

I guess my point is that even BM price makes it hard to ROI with free electricity - add in the tariffs and markups and its a pipe dream.

and this is by no means directed at you per se - all the resellers are doing the same thing --- buying all the stock before the actual miners can -- and then reselling it for huge markups.

would seem like it would be better if there were no resellers and miners could actually buy from manufacturer - but i also know that some places cannot buy direct so need resellers and are thus forced to pay the increased prices.

and this is the reason I only ever buy from resellers for new gear. I cannot justify the lack of roi or huge premiums to buy from resellers.
6191  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Laurentia Pool - BAD risk for miners on: July 23, 2020, 03:39:29 PM
Ok perhaps that was poor wordings on my side, changed that nobody to almost nobody, you are right, but this doesn't invalidate the point that the motive to watch blocks found on a PPS pool or a very large PPLNS is slim to nothing when compared to mining solo, maybe even "almost nobody" is far from accurate but i am sure you get the point...

Smiley agreed.

someone else is either selling one on here or recently sold one on here, though I cannot remember who it was at the moment.

edit - here it is https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259190.0

you could maybe ask him what he was able to sell his for - unless you are the one that bought it.

6195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / can anyone identify what pool/exchange this is? on: July 23, 2020, 03:12:02 PM
I am able to track every sat I have ever earned or spent except for one payment from address 3FxUA8godrRmxgUaPv71b3XCUxcoCLtUx2 - I have tried to find out who it is but have had no luck.

My conclusion is that I was paid from that address in error.

If someone can tell me who it is - maybe you have gotten paid from that address and are aware for which pool/exchange it came from?

6197  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Laurentia Pool - BAD risk for miners on: July 23, 2020, 05:46:34 AM
... but when mining on a pool especially if it's a PPS and in the grand scheme of things NOBODY watches their status simply because finding a block won't make them earn an extra penny...

I wouldn't say "NOBODY watches their status" - I track every block I find on any algo and or pool - now on PPS that can be tedious to go thru the blocks but it is not impossible. I keep screenshots as well.

Not debating or arguing any other point of your statement but you can't say NOBODY tracks it because I know I am not the only one.

here is just the past few months - some images are of one block - some images have details on quite a few blocks. I store the block number - hash - and diff of each block in a spreadsheet as well.

I love the chips more than the coins  and have dozens of them from various sources

even looking at doing my own as I have everything but holograms sourced but I also love to collect ones made by others - I hope to get at least one of these!

I will say that the round holos look better on the chips vs the square ones though - still want one though lol

6200  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 💥 KABOOM! [WTS] [UPDATED DAILY] on: July 23, 2020, 12:14:49 AM
and this is how they sell out so damn fast and how the average guy cannot get them for the listed price of 1749 and instead then have to pay 2,234. People swoop in and buy all the inventory and mark it up 600-700 over current price, knowing it is out of stock so everyone will be forced to pay those prices.

would be nice though if these could be bought without the tariff but as they are coming from China tariff would be in play - at least for us US miners - making this a 2,700 miner - nearly 1,000 over Bitmain's currently listed price.
