It's always a good thing to add a transaction fee, no matter how small is it, as to encourage the miners to include your transaction in the next block. I use around 3-4cent tx fees and it always gets confirmed on time. You could probably give 1 cent as a fee and the miners might still pick it up. So if you want your transaction to be confirmed quickly you should consider including a fee of at least 0.0001 BTC
But when sending larger transaction, like one whole coin, tx fee not really need as those automatically gets higher priority on the network.
No tx fee = slow confirmation. With tx fee = faster confirmation.

If there is no internet, Bitcoin is the least of your problems.
this is debatable, if you have a big stash of bitcoin, losing the access to it, indefinitely, it will be one of your biggest problem, especially if those are the only money you have Little known fact humans need water and food to survive. I know most people don't know this but it's true! And in order to get food and water people nowadays needs money. In other words without money it's hard to survive. Like Amph said if you have a huge amount of bitcoin as an asset this is going to be a huge problem because due to a global black out you won't be able to access your "DIGITAL" currency! There are some thirdworld countries that have no access to generators and solar powered computers. |

There is no way to get "free bitcoins" excpet getting some dust from faucets. Actually they are not free too. You have to click and passively view ads on faucets. If you want, you can do tasks for bitcoins. I am pretty sure there are plenty of legitimate sites that pay in bitcoins for doing tasks. Martingale strategies increases bet size after previous losses. So like others said a martingale strategy has the power to clean you out. This happens slowly. Not a quick death but a slow death! 75% chance of you to get away with it but the rest 25% will leave you crying. The larger your bank roll is, the longer you will last before losing everything.
So for short term betting: It is possible to do well with martingale over a short number of bets(maybe/depending on your basebet and bank roll).
For long term: Bank cleaned. Eventually, you will start hitting a losing red streak that will clean you out(even if you have a 80%chance of winning or your payout is x1.05). It may happen in the first few hours, or it may take a few days. Rest assured, you will eventaully face the disaster.
Imagine if every one made profits from martingale startegy. Would there be any dice sites left?

A few casino sites "might" sometimes cheat in middle of a game without you noticing or being suspicious. Since you likely won't be verifying each and every bet, they might RIG the casino a bit for their advantage. This is just my opinion but never heard of this happening since people don't verify all the bets they made. You really need to do more than just change the client seed, you have to verify the outcome and the hash. Ideally what we'd see is some browser plugins that do the whole process for us, and we can verify the code of the plugin.

So on a shorrt term basis there can perchance be a lot of volatility in the price of gold. But total number of bitcoins that can be mined is capped at
21million.
But since Bitcoin is a new technology, it is subject to more volatility as compared to gold.
But over the long run as no more bitcoins will me mined after the 21th million, we can expect it to be more stable and serve as a better value for storing than gold.
