721  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 08, 2017, 02:33:45 AM
If it had plunged down to the 2200-2700 range and became stagnant like this, then I would worry.

Sure! That kind of occurrence would have absolutely caused a scare no doubt, but whichever way, it would have still been a very good time to buy. Nonetheless, no one ever expected it would have a quick bounce back compared to the scenarios that played out few years back and it sure did show now there is good sign and great support for bitcoin. We cannot say much yet for now though, but the value is really showing some pretty big chance of pushing past resistance soon.
I used to work in sports betting industry, and I can tell you, local governments, everywhere in the world, are restriction people more and more. to force them to bet on local bookmakers only (I am talking about Poland, Turkey, Greece, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and many more countries). Sports betting with bitcoins should grow massively in the future .
722  Economy / Gambling / Re: FAIRLAY - SPORTS BETTING for experts - highest liquidity, provably best odds on: October 08, 2017, 02:26:54 AM
Could you tell your market makers that they should consider seeding the horse betting markets
with more liquidity?

Right now I want to place a bet on a horse race that starts in roughly 25 minutes.
It´s not an exotic event, but rather the opening race of the racing day at
Ascot (one of the more prominent racing stops).

On the favorite (Alaadeel) I can place only a paltry 6 mBTC. This is not, because someone
took away the available liquidity (the market has no bets as of now), but rather
because the market maker didn´t offer more than 6 mBTC.
I can understand when the market maker doesn´t want to expose himself on a longshot,
but I´m talking about the favorite here.

We have several market makers in the horse racing section. If you provide a link to the market we can notify the market maker.

The UK racing seems to have ok liquidity BUT the USA tracks that have just started popping up if u can inform that market maker to be consist and increase liquidity and post the races earlier as they seem to pop up randomly and late...ty vm
To be fair even Betfair have shit liquidity on US races.

Well, it's been fun, Fairlay, but this is the final straw. You've let politics poison your judgement to the point where you think it's acceptable for players who bet BTC to get their winnings paid in an altcoin.

Hasta la vista, baby!
I have 0.3 Btc pending at Fairlay, should be 0.33 Btc if my bets wins, which will be the case (Trump to be president in january 2018). I won't be able to withdraw in Btc? What is this?

We will settle the Trump to be president in january 2018  market in both currencies though it's more complicated for us. Given the large volume and the fact that the outcome of the market will be almost certain and no further volume can be expected.
Thanks for your quick reply. Sounds good Wink
724  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: A legitimate way of getting free BTC (Only accepting up to 0.06 BTC) (No risk) on: October 07, 2017, 07:37:38 AM
Hello. Without divulging too much, I have an 'investment' that has 0 risk and is essentially guaranteed. The worst possible outcome is that your initial investment is returned without any profits.

Now, unfortunately I am unable to provide details on what this magical investment is because it would probably become jeopardized and I would no longer be able to exploit it to my own personal gain.

The service would basically consist of:

You sending me BTC
Me sending you back your BTC + profits (minus some cut I take) after X days. Again, I cannot share with you what I am doing as it could compromise the entire process.

I know this sounds sketchy and probably like a scam but after seeing what other people have been posting I figured I'd ask anyways. I am willing to accept a single person with an amount of at least 0.03 BTC but not exceeding 0.06 BTC. I am probably going able to do perform this magic trick this weekend but I can't promise anything. The catch is that I can't just do it whenever I feel like it; it depends on a separate party making mistakes (which they always seem to do).

I am essentially offering an investment that has no chance of losing value, If anyone is willing to try it out, hit me up.

Hi. Why are you not investing with your bitcoins?
725  Economy / Gambling / Re: FAIRLAY - SPORTS BETTING for experts - highest liquidity, provably best odds on: October 07, 2017, 07:32:58 AM
If this is the case, I would like to trade by bets immediately and withdraw before the switch,
Thanks.

Regarding the upcoming hard fork:

We will most likely switch to the SegWit2X blockchain. In that case those bets that were placed before the hard fork and settled after it will only be settled on the SegWit2X chain and will be voided on the legacy chain.

We are once more asking all users to pull their support from all Core developers who are working for Blockstream. These developers have a serious conflict of interest and are unfit to lead the Bitcoin development.

Our ticker symbol for SegWit2X will be BTC.  Legacy Bitcoin will be made available for withdraw and to trade against BTC (2X).

We will write a blog post once our decision is final.

Further announcements will be posted on our blog from now on: http://blog.fairlay.com/
Hi Support,
I am still a very beginner in the bitcoin world and do not understand what this means.
I am in this situation, since I placed bets on Trump to be president in 2018, so markets settled in January.
In which way do I get affected? (i have a wallet at blockchain).

Thanks for your reply.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Turn Gambling into a Profitable Activity on: October 07, 2017, 04:52:44 AM
If you want to turn gambling into a profitable activity , i suggest you the only best way in this major is become the house. They said :" the house always win" . So if you become the house, you always win. Sound good ? If you still want to be a player and want to win the house ? Go sleep, in dream you can do it Cheesy
I do not think gambling can make someone become rich. they will not be able to get much profit, they will only lead a difficult life and will get defeat. gambling will not make your life happy and profit is not the purpose of playing gambling. the real purpose of game gambling is to seek pleasure.
yes agree, I'm sure if people think rich from gambling then he will be crazy because gambling will never make rich, most of us will be poor. Gambling is just entertainment to overcome the curious, so I will be happy and satisfied when gambling.
From what I know, short term success is possible, by that I mean placing 50 bets and get a good profit from it.
The more you bet, the more variance comes into play. Usually it is very hard to be profitable after 500 bets or more.
729  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 06, 2017, 08:13:10 AM
If this is true meaning bitcoin will now have a fix or stable value. I think bitcoin will still appreciate if not now surely in the future I believe that the value of bitcoin is still underprice and that there would be many appreciation that will took place. Maybe next year another big pump will happen for bitcoin its just that for this year it will stop at $4500
Soon or later, Bitcoin price will become more stable, like a fiat currency. I predict the price to be more stable in 2 or 3 years. My guess is around 20K.
730  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 06, 2017, 08:11:18 AM
what do you think about below chart?

I think bitcoin rise is over for now. Chart shows that we are in a buble and it should be corrected.
In addition if you look at the weekly chart end of 2013, you will see that it is similar to today.
Big correction may come soon

It is good to look at charts, but charts are not the only tool to predict the price of bitcoin, just like it is not the only tool to predict price of stocks.
Most important here is other information such as: who buys bitcoins? for what purpose? countries banning/legalizing bitcoins? etc etc.
You can't rely on graphs only, bro.

Sports betting requires patience. Too many people (I did that too when I was a beginner) bet on several matches every day.
Good opportunities in sports betting are quite rare, you need to be patient and wait for the good bet to place.
agree with you.gambling is a matter of patients. for success gambling need good and perfect skill about the game.

I strongly disagree with this, I almost laugh when I read this, patient? It is not enough for gambling to become profitable just because of that. Even though you are going to spend years on gambling, if you are going to lose then you are going to lose, and if you are going to win then you are going to win. It is just nonsense if you are going to hope that you could earn money by keeping on trying in gambling.
Bookmakers take a margin on each odds, some bookmakers take 10%, and the best bookmakers take 5% or less.
If you can bet on a selection at odds of 2.00 (in american odds +100) and that these odds later decrease to 1.85, it means your bet is a good bet. If you do this on a consistent basis, you will earn money, but it is not easy at all.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: October 06, 2017, 06:49:52 AM
When you bet on a daily basis, it means a lot of up and downs, adrenaline.

I once took a break of 6 months, without placing any bet!! 6 months sounds loooong for someone addicted to gambling but I realized I didnt miss gambling and it helped me to focus on other things (learn Chinese, which is such a hard language to learn).

In life, you always need a balance, if one of your hobbies takes you too much time, it is usually not good.

In sports betting, something that works well for me:

Start with 0.10 Btc.
Bet on small odds, something I have 110% confidence in. Of course nothing is safe...

Once my bankroll gets to 0.20 btc, I withdraw 0.10 Btc and bet with the earnings...
If I reach 0.20 again, I will withdraw 0.10 Btc. NO EXCEPTION.

Is is all about discipline.

Merci pour ces explications, je suis aussi nouveau sur le forum et me demandait comment le systeme de rang fonctionnait.

Topic tres utile, je suis dans la meme situation.
Merci.

So in this screenshot, am I betting NC State +5 at -171 odds?
Yes that is correct, you are betting on the other team (NC State) with a handicap of +5 at -171.  Wink

THANK YOU!

So would you say the fact that I clicked the "bet against +171" square and then an input box with odds -171 comes up.  Wouldn't you say that's a bug or at the very least counter-intuitive?  I don't get that at all!
I'll send you a private message, check your inbox. I got a table for you to understand the equivalencies .

Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ?
what do you think about this topic?

You had to be there in 2010 to get rich with Bitcoins.
If you buy in 2017, I doubt Bitcoin will make you rich, you will be able to make decent profits if you hold for 5 years or more, rich, not in my opinion.
