anyone can teach me how to make 470 hashrate back to 27mhs? please

Fresh install of W10 + AMD blockchain workloads driver (23Aug) + atikmdag 1.4.5 pixel patcher +MSI AB v4.4.0 Beta 16 and have a happy mining

Is there a way to make it work on Windows 8.1?
only robinhood beta version. And this will not work with rx vega.

I have two Vega 64 cards now, same settings same everything. One is capable of 1250 H/s on Monero, the second one can go to 1580 H/s o.O

Would you mind sharing your settings?

After a reboot, I am not able to reproduce the 1580 H/s score Smiley Both cards run between 1250 and 1280 H/s. Just standard Wattman settings, core as low as possible, mem to 1100, temp limit 71℃, -5% power. However, this is not enough to reduce the power draw at the wall.

We need to give rednoW some motivation to share his guide with us. A kiss won't be enough I assume.

To get back 1600h/s xmr stop your miner, go to radeon settins, gaming and move HBCC slider slightly, then hit apply.
Then run you miner again, here you go again ))
Need your kisses ))

Same results for me using HBCC, I got 1020H/s with vega 64 core 1150@900v and ram 1100@900v driver 17.9.1 (but with 17.8.2 was the same). I use intensity 1536 and worksize 16 and i tryed many value including 1500/8, 1000/16 1000/8 and many similiar. What's the trick?
Blockchain drivers will do the trick.
But it is difficult to downvolt with them ...

If you could post Claymore screenshot, GPU-Z screenshot as well as kill-a-watt photo, that'd be nice.

It would give credibility to the findings you reported, as apparently lots are doubtful with your experiment.

I bet many would be swayed to buy a 56 if these were indeed a fact.

No need of so much data. All you need is to run Vega with memclock 1080-1100mhs keeping gpu voltage <=900mV
gpu clock can be from ~900 to ~1400mhz.
With this you will get 43-44mhs eth or 1500-1600xmr (depending of gpu clock) with 130-160watt from the wall.
All you need is blockchain driver, win10 and HBCC mode enabled.
The main problem is to make it run under 900mV keeping memclock high.
There are several hacks to do it but they are being kept private now. Maybe soon somebody makes it public and we won't find cheap vega's at stores anymore ))
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.0 (Windows/Linux) on: September 11, 2017, 05:59:36 PM
It looks like the people posting bullshit power draws and error or misreported hashrates on miners or bullshit memory OCs that don't work, etc are simply trying to trick crypto-miners into paying inflated prices for RX Vega GPUs.

They are probably tied into GPU distributors or wholesalers!
O yeah! You should better buy this completely well-known gtx1060 and then discover its shitty hynix mem with max 19mhs speed ))) Same goes to gtx1070, forget about samsung 2400mem, pray for micron ... but probably will get hynix too )) And this is for $500 ))
Or overpriced $800 gtx1080ti that is good only on non-memory related algos ... forget about eth, xmr and neoscrypt with it
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 11, 2017, 08:02:02 AM
If power is not an issue you should better go with liquid cooling and run dual @ 300 watt.
300watt is to much for reference air cooling.
But if you pay for electricity then air cooling is ok, even rx vega 56, just run at 130-160watt and forget about dual-mining.
I have no vega 56 yet but I see no problems in flashing it with vega 64 bios and apply proper tuning then.

My new best results with my vega64 liquid after moving to win10 and blockchain drivers

xmr - 1570h/s@130watt
eth - 44mhs@160watt
zec - 560sol - wattage didn't remember

dual eth+lbc still no improvements 41+220 at 230watt
it is old result with 17.8.2 driver on win7
Having stability issues with dual mode on win10 with blockchain drivers.
It works with default voltages and speed is good 43eth+240lbc but consumption is huge.
When I'm trying to apply downvolt setup that works well under win7 17.8.2 drivers or with xmr or pure eth with blockchain drivers - it simply hangs.
Maybe I need to give it more voltage ... but I don't like this way ))
This make Monero quite a lot more profitable to mine then eth, well if monero and eth maintain their price.
I am considering buying vega series cards , anyways is the extra bucks for liquid worth it ?

liquid needed for dualmining only cause you will need 300w for 43eth/220lbry (43eth/2800dcr).
For xmr and eth only (130w and 160w) air version is just enough.
BUT! You'll get this numbers only after special tuning that is not available public yet!
With std settings or just playing with wattman you'll get worse results.

The more total power is the more is the diff. But if it show 160watt it is no more then 70 watt error.
When it shows 110 watt there is only 30 watt error.
It is my own measurements on Vega.

cool. so when you get chip@160W you see VRM power@70W (don't really get the "error" part) what is the ETH hash rate that you are getting? Also how does it look when you do dual mine?
please, browse throw my recent posts (you can easily find it in my profile), I'm tired to repeat.

If GPU-Z can be trusted:

Vega FE Air's

GPU_0 = -cclock 1137 -mclock 1050 -cvddc 950 = 40.4Mh/s 51C, 78% fan, 15C ambient = 158w
GPU_1 = -cclock 1137 -mclock 1100 -cvddc 950 = 42.4Mh/s 55C, 66% fan, 15C ambient = 168w

I ruined the earth ground on the killawatt I borrowed, so I currently cannot take a wall measurement.

you need to add approx 60-70watt to what gpu-z says
I would guess (extrapolating on the polaris power consumption) that memory part while running eth would require more than 60W. I'd guess 80+W is more likely

Has anybody bothered to mod their Vega BIOS instead of messing with the software drivers and miner config? Memory straps, GPU underclock, VRAM overclock and Voltage offset lowered?

Wolf has posted enough info to go at it with the hex editor.

currently Vega won't even boot with modded bios - there is some kind of protection against bios mod

what drivers are you using? also what rates are you getting foe 2nd coin?
I've got me some vegas on the way so any info would be appreciated at this stage:)

It is 17.8.2 or 17.9.1 drivers. blockchain drivers don't allow to show gpu total power

Anyone have any joy to get the blockchain drivers to work on Windows 7-64? I cannot stand 10 not even if it did 100Mhs. When I install it on 7-64 I get snow on screen and reboots - rinse, wash, repeat.
No, blockchain drivers don't work on win7 with vega. Even robinhood version.
But 17.8.2 are not bad at all on win7. Check my posts for results.

1) Yes and 1060 do 910-920. So 1070 is only 30% faster - not good. But 1080/yi is even worse.
2) Is alexis78 stable with? I couldn't achieve stable results on 1070 - frequent crashes. Klaus is stable but 1170 at most (Micron memory, may be with Samsung it would be better).
Alexis is perfectly stable on my palit jetstream and gamerock gtx1070 cards but need 100% tdp to make 1300-1350 mhs

@rednoW, would you mind explaining step by step how you are getting undervolt to work with the blockchain drivers?  I've tried fiddling with command line switches and wattman settings and can't seem to get them to stick.  I'm running 5x Vega 64 at the moment and getting 41.5Mh on the blockchain drivers but I'm running 960/1025/-10%/65C fan target so my power consumption is very high.
well, I think currently this guide doesn't exist and I need some motivation to write it ))

66watts
well. 160watt and speed 43-44mhs - as I posted before - current best  Vega results mining eth. To achieve better efficiency we need some miner/driver change or mem timings hack.

UPDATE...

the 43.7 was for Expanse

Just tried the same settings with ETH 38.5

You need blockchain drivers with HBCC enabled for 44+eth. But blockchain drivers are pain to downvolt. But it is possible!

That would be on UBIQ then?

And that is RX Vega 64 and not RX Vega 56?
It is vega 64 liquid. I tested only eth with dagger-hashimoto.

And, are you confident you will be able to run it at that for 2 years 24/7 or was it just something you just did for benchmarking?
I can't tell you cause now I'm running xmr 1600h/s @130 watt, 2 days stable ...
