Having a day job is always good, as we don't know what will be the price of bitcoin in future and you rely only on it then its a really risky business.

of course have a day job and use bitcoin as sidejob is good way to get double salary, but sometimes you can't do it everyday. i think better you focus at your plan. my plan i want to focus at bitcoin after reach minimum capital to build mining rig with 12 R9 380x
723  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-17] Bellinger plans UW fellowship study of Bitcoin on: May 18, 2016, 12:10:40 AM
SEATTLE — Peninsula native Matt Bellinger, in his fifth year of the M.A./Ph.D. program at the University of Washington Department of Communication, has received a Digital Humanities Dissertation Summer Fellowship from the Simpson Center.

The fellowship “supports scholars whose dissertations use digital technologies in innovative and intensive ways and/or explore the historical, social, aesthetic, and cross-cultural implications of digital cultures.”

Bellinger studies digital culture and rhetorics of technology, with a special focus on digital currencies such as Bitcoin. He graduated from Ilwaco High School in 2007. His parents are Steve and Jeanne Bellinger of Ocean Park.

“In general, I’m interested in the narratives, metaphors, tropes, and arguments that people use to make sense of new technologies, and the process by which new technologies move from being unfamiliar and anxiety-inducing to familiar and routinized,” he said in a UW press release.

Indonesia should follow Japan and support bitcoin, according to an article in okezone.com, an online portal of news and entertainment that focuses on Indonesian readers both in the country and living abroad.

The article, by journalist Kurniasih Miftakhul Jannah, calls for the country to take action to make bitcoin more acceptable in his country, in light of the progress other countries are making.

The article noted that bitcoin has been approved as a legal currency in Japan. Japan’s Financial Services Agency, which manages the circulation of the yen currency, will regulate bitcoin, the article stated.

729  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: May 12, 2016, 01:36:17 AM
Best way is invest money in bitcoin if you are using it as currency, but if you already using bitcoin as investment, so do it, invest, stop saving.

don't say stop saving, we don't know future of bitcoin, maybe new altcoin with highest technology can replace bitcoin, and you lost all of your money, we must save some money every week/month for future, or invest at other place. don't invest all of your money at 1place.
730  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: May 12, 2016, 01:30:46 AM
I am agree with u in that point. For sure it's gonna be smart to have a day job and bitcoins mining as a side job. I don't know anyone who leave it's day job only to concentrate on bitcoins with a dream to became one of bitcoin millionaire.

in fact some smart people like vitalik butterin, leave his college, his dayjob and focus at bitcoin magazine, then he release etherum. now we know vitalik is 1 of biggest succes man in the digital cryptocurrency world.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase? on: May 12, 2016, 01:29:12 AM
Yes, I will hold my bitcoin, hoped the price is above $1000
I know it's a good time to hold bitcoins and we also know that the halving is coming

1000$ is too much for halving, i think that price will be around 600- 700$ for 1btc. It's also good price to sell and make some money.

Even $700 is too much to happen just because of the block halving. I am already happy when the price settles above $500 for the rest of this year. I don't ask for more than that. If it goes higher anyway, then I will see it as a nice bonus.

the problem if the bitcoin price rising some signature will close his service, in the middle 2014 we see some signature campaign pay 0.1 per week, but today it's very hard to earn 0.05/week from sign campaign even Hero member.
732  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-12]Former CFTC Commisioner States Obama Should Heed the Call on Bitcoin on: May 12, 2016, 01:15:04 AM
Former commissioner on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission advised Obama in an op-ed on CNBC today to take a reasonable approach to digital currency and blockchain technology, one that fosters innovation.
Bitcoin and blockchain regulation has been a hot topic at conferences and on the nascent technology’s online forums. Bitcoin, known for its anarchist and libertarian leanings, fear government legislators and regulators.

Many episodes have tarnished bitcoins name, as well; namely, the Silk Road and Mt. Gox affairs. These have led to everyday people, and regulators, to associate the digital currency with the black market. In many pronouncements by politicians, the technology has even been associated with terrorism.

Is it better to save money or invest it?
Money in cold storage just loses value over time.

Invest it.

Instead of putting it on cold storage but it on your bitcoin wallet address. It will get more income once the price of bitcoins increases.
And you are not losing it instead you are earning it over the time.
I agree, we need to take the opportunity given to us early adopters of bitcoin, the price will probably appreciate in the future as there will be a massive adoption coming from different industries of the business world.
all just speculation, nobody knows what will happen in the future bitcoin.
so it's better for investment and make a profit, rather than just saving for long time.

even satoshi nakamoto.
no people can give guarantee bitcoin will be survive or fail. we all just speculation no more.

but, if we see the fact now more biggest company want to adopt bitcoin technology ,
734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: May 11, 2016, 08:39:37 AM
I think patience is required; starting early is a good thing. To starting, using faucets is a good idea with $5 per month and working in XBTFreelancer with simple skills such as typing and data entry. All the while; remember to keep posting to increase your rank to join a signature campaign later.

agree it, we must be patience to earning money, bitcoin etc. no way to get bitcoin fast and free. if we want to get bitcoin fast we must have capital to buy it.
735  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: May 11, 2016, 08:38:12 AM
I don't think I will  be holding bitcoin that long as I will convert my bitcoin to fiat when the price will reach to the moon and then fiat will take care of my retired life.

You can choose to just hold 10% of your entire stash for at least 10 to 20 years as the price might be in the thousands by that time. I will keep at least 25% of my total coins for at least 10 years. I want to see where Bitcoin is heading in the future so I will always keep some coins.

it's good choice we save some for long term for future reference and sell some too so we can get buy back more if the price fail Roll Eyes
736  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: May 11, 2016, 08:22:35 AM
Lol thats a difficult question because the coin doesn't have a stable value you know. Maybe he's
not even 1 dollar in about 20 years. But maybe he's that high after 2 years that you can retire with just a couple of coins.

and maybe the price willl stable at $1000 above Roll Eyes
everything can happen dude
737  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: May 11, 2016, 07:14:16 AM
Motivate women to use bitcoin and learn different earning methods is really a hard task. Only doing things at the right time helps women to enter bitcoin for their needs. Now I believe lot women have started using and earning bitcoin.

i see a lot woman use bitcoin at this time. i see some facebook group for woman discusion about bitcoin, but no more, maybe only 1% of all population in the world using bitcoin

I saw that also many women now are using bitcoins that were influence by their husbands or boyfriends. But base on your percentage, I disagree that it is 1%, because still it will not reach 1% of population of the world for women who uses bitcoins.
I guess, it would go for just decimal percentage. 0.1% or 0.01% population of the world I guess, they are still very few if we are saying about total population of the world.

very well said they are influence by someone they know who has earning bitcoin but mostly of girls doing bitcoin now is those who are housewife or no jobs gals, and they see bitcoin really cn get them earnings and they get also inspired by those who teach them when they saw the earnings of there mentors thats why they are still trying to indulge and do hardworks in bitcoin.
you can searching at google
https://www.google.com/?client=firefox-b-ab#q=bitcoin+woman

you will find more comunity and more woman interesting to use bitcoin
738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: May 11, 2016, 06:54:35 AM
Lots of opinion here are great but i dont know how to start it. this is my first time to find source where can i get more bitcoin im just one of the faucet bitcollector.. but i only earns few cents..

It is fine, all of us that knew bitcoin were into faucets for the first time, but in the long run of course because of its small earnings, we stopped it. I could suggest that go into signature campaign it can give you somehow good profit. But you need to have a high rank account that most high paying signature campaigns required.

better to trade our bitcoin after we have capital, we can use capital from bitcointalk sign campaign etc. then use it for trade at bittrex, poloniex etc.
739  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many btc do you have? on: May 11, 2016, 06:52:32 AM

740  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-05-11] OpenBazaar Reveals High-Level Roadmap on: May 11, 2016, 06:32:27 AM
Decentralized Bitcoin Marketplace OpenBazaar Reveals High-Level Roadmap

OpenBazaar, a decentralized marketplace that uses Bitcoin, has revealed its high-level roadmap to get its users acquainted with its plans going forward.

The platform will be adding several features, typically found on centralized marketplaces, to its platform soon. The improvements to be made in the forthcoming months have been categorized into ongoing improvements, short term (< 3 months), medium term (~3–12 months) and long term (>12 months).

Short-term goals include integrating features such as email notifications, webhooks, backups, order management, inventory management, order process UI, and much more.

The ongoing improvements include moderation system, listing flexibility, reputation system, discovery and more. In particular, it includes improving the privacy feature of the platform. OpenBazaar said that the absence of network privacy, namely obfuscation of a node’s real IP address, has been often criticized. This feature is enabled through the use of a VPN, I2P, or Tor. Addressing this issue, OpenBazaar said that it will be upgrading the network backend to InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), which will be a significant step forward to eventually integrating Tor.
