721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★★ [ANN][VLC] ValueCoin | The real valuable coin | Launched on: June 26, 2013, 10:19:43 AM
I actually don't mind this coin, I would like to see where it could go.

Are you planning a giveaway thread to get more clients downloaded?
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MasterCoin [MST] The master of all alt coins!! on: June 26, 2013, 10:05:53 AM
If MasterCard wants to sue me, they are welcome too Wink

You do realize that everyone installing your software will be violating MasterCard's copyright?
Why should anyone use your coin if that means *they* risk being sued by MasterCard?

That's not true at all. First of all, their logo is nowhere within the Mastercoin client. It's not even their logo at all, it's a orange circle, with the word Master in it. Secondly, it's only half of their logo. Pretty sure MasterCard does not own the word "master" Roll Eyes

Why don't you make your own unique logo instead of cutting Mastercards in half? This is either plain strange or just lazy.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] TradeCoin (TDC) Pre-Release Thread on: June 26, 2013, 09:56:59 AM
This coin would work only if it really was Bitcoin or Litecoin after the miners reward had reduced to 0 but with these two coins, I would hope, there would be such massive amounts of transactions going on with them that the total miner fee's in each block would be a sizeable miners reward and so keeping the global hashrate high.

With this coin, there will be little to no miner fee's in the block reward due to small amounts of transactions, most users having only 1000 coins in a giveaway and then the OP with 11 million coins.

I cannot imagine a coin taking off when right from the start you have and hold so many coins, that is a massive leap of faith for miners and traders.

I have an idea, when released why don't you start up a P2Pool and every miner can join that and then you can "donate" a massive chunk of that premine to the miners, say, 7 times, once everyday for a week as a lucky gift and leave yourself with 100,000 or something more realistic than 11 million.

This would get the hashrate up, as the miners will be waiting for a payout, there will be more coin out there to be traded with and create transaction fee's.

Also changing the client so it is stuck or forced to send a transaction fee is a must with this release.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★★ [ANN][VLC] ValueCoin | The real valuable coin | Launched on: June 25, 2013, 11:25:48 AM
I sorted it by clicking the import button and then downloading from there.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ★★★ [ANN][VLC] ValueCoin | The real valuable coin | Launched on: June 25, 2013, 10:53:19 AM
Yep, the client download sticks at around 60% and does not download any further.

Hope this is not a ploy to keep the diff down? lol
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox no longer the standard for exchange rate on: June 25, 2013, 10:45:45 AM
I have to be honest I have never used Mt Gox and for trade I mainly used BTC-E. I have also never bought a Bitcoin with GPB ever, just slowly mined my way in with other currencies and projects.

I guess if the governments cannot regulate/control the exchanges then they will target the payment processors.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Infinitecoin - IFC - Launched!! 524,288 coins per block!!! on: June 20, 2013, 05:02:13 PM
Were you soloing? I am solo mining this with 700 kh/s and getting nothing. Should be a block everything 3 mins roughly.
728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post count Dropped Suddenly on: June 20, 2013, 07:47:34 AM
OK and now I am even more at a loss, what does actually increase your activity count?

I have made a few posts, a longish one in the Alt-section and an information update on one of my project threads.

They have added to my post count on my profile but not on my activity count.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: June 20, 2013, 07:45:14 AM
I don't want to give too much away yet, I want to have the website fully up and running, so it can explain fully what the project is about and allow for sign ups too.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A solution to the crapcoin announcements on: June 20, 2013, 07:37:53 AM
It would be a good thing for Developers to explain was is different about the new coin and even if the community will benefit or even need it.

If its just an exact clone of another coin then what is the point.

This could help to filter the new coin ideas and give us a new breed of innovation and as opposed to stagnation with new Cryptocoins.
731  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post count Dropped Suddenly on: June 20, 2013, 07:32:05 AM
It just seems like a lot of posts, so I am guessing activity is a way of saying "Useful" posts?

What is deemed a useful post? The length of a post? On one of my threads sometimes my updates about my website are short but the information is useful, so that wouldn't be fair.

My profile says this:

Posts:    520
Activity:    336
732  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post count Dropped Suddenly on: June 19, 2013, 06:33:58 PM
Ok at least I know.

Shame for the rest of us who follow the rules though.
733  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post count Dropped Suddenly on: June 19, 2013, 03:56:27 PM
It's activity not post count...

I was thinking that too but I have dropped from Hero Member to Senior member now, do you know why?
734  Other / Off-topic / Post count Dropped Suddenly on: June 19, 2013, 03:48:02 PM
Hi all,

I understand that some threads might get deleted and stuff but my post count has dropped from over 500 to in the 300's overnight.

Anyone had this happen before?

I am just wondering which threads or information has been taken down, as 200 post is quiet alot.

Thanks for anyone that can help.
735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin Windows Client Update on: June 19, 2013, 03:41:24 PM
I am working on a side project (25% complete) that is connected to BBQcoin and should help to give it more of a purpose and also increase interest.

Client development will continue in the near future, right now I feel the bbqcoin.org client works fine and does not need updating, we only released one a month ago.

So now I am going to develop internet based projects for BBQcoin.

Bitcoin has not even been taken as a real world payment processor, as in, non internet based, properly yet, so how can we expect BBQcoin too.

BBQcoin needs to be proven as an internet based currency first, then it can move on to the next phase. A currency to be bought to spend and not just to trade for other coins.

I have no problems with BBQcoin.com and I know at times I have spoken out of turn and I officially apologise for this, we are all here to see Cryptocoins succeed so I agree that we should all be on the same team.
736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: June 17, 2013, 10:56:11 PM
New side project update post just added to the main website, as I have actually spent more time at the MAC/PC instead of working on the other jobs i have, Twitter and Facebook get the news second for a change.

I am keeping what the actual project is under wraps for now other than the fact that it will be connected to BBQcoin and is, I hope going to be the first of many reasons to actually buy and mine BBQcoin for something other than trading, as it is a currency after all.

I have calmed down on the client side of BBQcoin and I formally apologise when I have acted out of turn to anyone involved, I can admit when I am wrong and also when I am being an arse, I am guessing that having over 10 massive projects on the go at once and trying to manage them can take its toll sometimes but that is no accuse.

As I said in my post on the website, I want to thank all the past and current supporters of BBQcoin as without you, it would have died a long time ago.

Here is to a bright future for BBQcoin and the possible dawn of a new era for Alternate Crypto-Currency.
737  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 51% attack on all altcoins since Feathercoin happening. on: June 17, 2013, 05:10:56 PM
Sometimes 51% attacks are done sometimes just to wake up the Dev's if they think they are not making progress or fixing obvious mistakes.

I have looked at every single new coin, since yesterday and all I can say is that faster is not always better. 12 second Block time? I cannot see that working. Remember Liquidcoin with its fixed diff of 0.05, that didn't work as the diff did not change to match the hashrate, orphan central. 12 second Block time? Orphan Central.

With such a massive Alt-coin collection now, for the new ones released at least, there needs to be little in the way of a pre-mine, have a purpose, as in a reason to buy the coin, not just to trade it for another one and have something different to improve Crypto-Currency in some way.

Why don't the Dev's before they release the coin, have a website up and running, with a mining config guide already written for everyone to see and maybe a website that is ready to take that currency as payment for Good or Service's, then do the [ANN]. That would be such a fair coin to mine, as all the miners could have the configs ready to go ready for release.

If a new coin is released and it is not showing innovation or is different in some way and more of these stagnant coins keep getting released, I could imagine the community getting fed up and just killing those coin off, to maybe give some room for a coin that could make a difference in some way.
738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: June 15, 2013, 07:01:45 PM

I am excited about this one, combining the two things I love together.

Sweet.  We're gonna be able to hire hookers with BBQcoins?

 Grin Grin Grin

Seriously, can't wait for the announcement though.  Sounds great.  Keep up the good work Chad!

Thanks mate.

I think the client side is running fine now, the other website has joined in on the client side too and we will release a new one in the near future adding a stable node but other than that, I think our client runs pretty fine as it is.

Now what we really need is something to spend BBQcoin's on  Wink
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQcoin.org Official Thread on: June 15, 2013, 06:00:54 PM
Massive annoucement to be made over the next two days directly involving BBQcoin and this could be the first time that something of this scale has ever been done. Keep an eye on bbqcoin.org's website posts, Facebook and Twitter for upcoming updates. Thanks.

Can't wait for the update, sounds big!

It is going to be big, well,  i think it is big and it has never been done before as far as I can see.

I am working on the website now and once finished, I will release and [ANN] for it and the website with have a forum but with one thread only. Just one topic and thread and a signup section  Smiley

I am excited about this one, combining the two things I love together.
