Devcoin has a market cap of over 3 Million USD and is one of the oldest alternative cryptocurrencies - it is notable. It also has the primary innovation of receiver files, and the funding of open source projects worldwide.
It is notable - it is time to rewrite the article and make a complaint to someone higher up regarding this moderators actions / OPINION so that the page is not deleted.
Anyone can find some rule in Wikipedia to delete any page / part of an article.
We need to rewrite the page and make a formal complaint to someone higher, to get a secdond opinion regarding this moderator who is trying to destroy the page.
Coinmarketcap.com is not a "press releases, press kits, or similar works", neither is an online blog - so it is just that moderators OPINION that a blog is not suitable.
Everyone has a conflict of interest - the moderator probably despises alt coins - the same thing happened with the LTC Wikipedia page a year ago (we should probably use the LTC and BTC Wikipedia pages as a kind of template for the DVC one).
The LTC page references bitcointalk, the LTC forums, Bitcoin whitepaper, Litecoin.org and similar sites - we can do the same and reference Devtome too.
If anyone makes substantial changes to the DVC Wikipedia page - please make sure to keep a copy (as well as the history which Wikipedia keeps) so that if our moderator friend deletes the changes we can easily add them back in later.
EDIT: also isn't DVC on GitHub too? That can also be referenced
I quoted the market cap, references to age, receiver files, devtome, github, gitorious.
I used the bitcoin, litecoin, peercoin pages as templates.
I already rewrote the page from the initial post to make it as neutral as possible. It's not the 'content' that's the problem now, it's just the 'notability'. If you want to make a complaint then go for it although I'd recommend you first read the article/some of the links I posted before taking a viewpoint.
I think it looks great - thanks for all of your work. When I have time I may make some more changes / add some more refs.
When the LTC page was first started there was not a lot of media coverage and the page survived - after a fight for it!
I advise anyone reading this who wants DVC on Wikipedia to join the discussion surrounding the Devcoin page on Wikipedia - and also go through the proper channels to raise objections to the article deletion (I think you can do this from the discussion page on Wikipedia).
If enough of us add more references / content to the Devcoin page on Wikipedia - and raise objections to the deletion the page will survive.
We shouldn't just give up - let's keep DVC on Wikipedia where it belongs!
