721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 21, 2014, 04:28:47 PM
I really hope this enterprise fails. Asics would ruin scrypt coin mining, like they ruined bitcoin mining.

I wonder if this sentiment is why there's so much mud slinging in this thread. Some posters seem sincere in their scam fighting, while for most it seems like a blatant attempt to make Alpha T look bad.

Those supporting PoS feel the opposite I'm sure.

True. I'm not supporting anything though. Merely posing a question. Are some poster negative about companies launching scrypt ASICs because they are afraid of it ?

So many people in this thread just post knee-jerk replies it's not even funny. Can't we have rational discussion on this forum anymore ?

723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: GUIDE: Securely storing large amounts of bitcoin (brain wallet/paper wallet) on: January 17, 2014, 01:33:32 PM
Brainwallets with human generated passphrases are a bad idea. Doesn't matter if it's offline or online they are just a bad idea period.

Why ?
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 11, 2014, 12:56:56 AM
Let's make a list of valid questions that need to be answered then.
Instead of crying scam without cause.
A late refund doesn't make it a scam. That's retarded, come on. If they are scamming they should also send out refunds. If I where a scammer I wouldn't stop accepting orders and I would refund people immediately.

I'm tired of people simply stating again that things don't feel right and saying they have questions... Are these questions already answered and are you just unhappy with the answers?

A lot I information is in the updates.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 10, 2014, 11:50:47 PM
I went ahead and flagged alpha-t with cautionary trust. There's just too many questions that need to be answered.

I respect the role you have on this board. Please elaborate. What questions exactly ?

wtf someone jumping the ship? damn but thanks for holding our hands and making me feel better tonight when I sleep

Why you have to be mad? unless you are an Alpha Tech shill you should have no problem with that. Alpha hasn't responded to a lot of allegations on this forum, they just ignored everything and posted their "update"

How CAN they respond to the allegation of being scammers ?

"We're not scammers" ?

It's not fair to ask someone to prove a negative. I think they answered everything that needs answering right now.

What more do you need to know ? More technical details will be shared as soon as they come I light.

What allegations are you talking about ? I found everything I need to know in their updates.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 10, 2014, 12:38:21 PM
No way this is a scam.

Look at "meet the team". These people all exist and are easy to find.
It now depends on the Dextel teams in India to deliver a good product and in a timely fashion.

Dextel is a company that may very well pull it off. They have experience and manpower.
Also their expectations seem realistic. The only thing I'm not sure about now is... How fast will they finish the first batch ? Just half a year from now seems VERY optimistic.

Maybe we can have some kind of agreement here in this thread to stop shouting "SCAM" until they actually do something scammy ?

Perceived "red flags" are just gut feelings, they can be explained by non -scammy phenomena like : time pressure, human error, etc.

On the litecoin forums ive read that bitpay is very slow with refunds. If you select Paypal it will be much quicker.

730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 09, 2014, 12:08:13 PM
Thanks for the link, Kramble.

Reading all those updates from Alpha T actually took a lot of my suspicions away. If they're scammers, they are scammers who sound like they've actually studied electrical engeneering.

I believe they actually plan to deliver. If they are ABLE too remains to be seen, but I have faith in their intentions. And I've put m money where my mouth is.

Go Alpha T !!
731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 09, 2014, 04:45:34 AM
Ah yes, paranoia Smiley

Maybe they're too busy to search for every mention of their name and reply ? Or maybe they have a policy right now against engaging critics and trolls until they have some positive results to share ?

Lack of communication doesn't prove try are scammers. If it does, please explain that reasoning to me.
732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 09, 2014, 03:42:04 AM
What I would like to see to make me feel better about my order is this : a bit more background info on the Akram brothers and father to lend their company some credibility.
733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alpha Technology Litecoin (Scrypt) ASIC Miner Development on: January 09, 2014, 03:13:40 AM
That means little.

If they really are scammers, they wouldn't stop taking orders now , would they ?

Don't trust random posters so much either. People here have no qualms at all to make others look bad just to profit themselves.
Or Alpha is slow in replying in some cases.

Spotty service doesn't make them scammers. We only have partial, unreliable information and no solid evidence for a quality product or a scam.

All we have is speculation. Therefore : we have to wait and see.

734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions if Chinese Government Changes Their Stance In Next 6 Months on: November 22, 2013, 05:51:53 AM
Well, if the Party decides to outlaw Bitcoin it would be very easy for them to block it. The Great Firewall of China would simply block the network. Much easier then killing it then it is in the rest of the world.
735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Butter-Bot vs buy and hold on: November 09, 2013, 05:37:53 PM
I'm a fan of BBOT and have been using it for a few months.

It can cost you money to have it trade too much. You get losing trades called "whipsawes" when the bot sells due to sensitive sell trigger. Its then buys back when the EMA ( Exponential Moving Avarage ) lines cross again. you lose like 1 or 2 % per trade like that but after a while it adds up.

The biggest reason I use BBOT instead of buy and hold is this : it prevents my investment from taking a BIG hit when there's a crash and MtGox's trading engine lags so badly that I can't sell.

BBOT is tied into the trade API, and can sell my BTC even if I cannot do so manually.

So I see BBOT as an insurance policiy against that.

Joeri  i asked you for your legal counsel info on Saturday and still have not received it. So i will ask you here in the public forum
please send me your legal counsel info so i can move forward with this process and get this cleared up.

You didnt get the info because I have nothing to defend myself against.

EDIT : You always said Phenix Crypto Systems was owned by you. If I needed anything, I should ask YOU. All Mike was, is the coder. The friend and business partner for many years who you trust completely.

Now that story doesn't suit you anymore so you've changed it.

How can we believe ANYTHING that comes out of your mouth, while so much have been proven to be LIES ?

Not only am I going to sue you for the locked deposits, I'll do my best to nail you and Mike for the pump and dump as well. I have chat records of Mike gloating about his stash of PXC and later admitting he sold it when the price was high.
740  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Trillion Market Cap on: October 27, 2013, 07:44:46 PM
I'm kinda tired by this kind of questions:

When will ... ?
What do you think ... ?
Can bitcoin ... ?
Is bitcoin ... ?
Are we ... ?

I speculate that you don't know the meaning of the verb : to speculate.
