721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin fees (subsidy) on: September 13, 2022, 10:46:19 AM
Quote
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

What do you think will happen to bitcoin and this forum after 130 years when no bitcoin can be mined?
Or can it be in fractions?

I'm no bitcoin expert, but is it possible that bitcoin can undergo a similar merge like ETH before that happens?

Where miners are not earning for their proof of work.
Where miners will mine something other than bitcoin.
Where Bitcoin will derail from the main title of cryptocurrency.
Where bitcoin will be remembered as an ex-main cryptocurrency.

I want your thoughts on this.

724  Economy / Economics / Re: Which city deserves to be the blockchain capital? on: September 12, 2022, 12:41:05 PM
Las Vegas is popularly known as the city of gambling because it has the highest rate of gambling activities and highest revenue generated from gambling activities, so in regards to the question you just ask, the city with the highest Blockchain activities should be called the Blockchain city, while the city with the highest crypto/Bitcoin activities and revenue generated from crypto should be also known as the crypto/Bitcoin capital, likewise vice versa to any other

It's true Las Vegas is popularly known as the city of gambling but making it the capital of crypto will mostly harm the reputation of blockchain, showing it's leaning toward the gambling hub of the world.

I think one of the innovative countries deserves the title of capital. That's the reason I chose Singapore.
725  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 11, 2022, 02:42:49 PM
1 BTC equals to 1 BTC. This is an unrealized loss, you do not have to panic, check the price history of bitcoin and see the good reason not to panic. If you can hold for like 2 years, you can just leave it there and see when the bull run will start. I will not advice you to sell in loss if you do not need the money for anything now.

I agree with this reply!

We've seen a similar bitcoin movement from 2011 to 2022.
Bitcoin goes up, then down, then doubles up from the initial down the way I'm writing. It could be hard to understand but keep in mind the longer you hold bitcoin, the better you're set up for the future.

Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency, and no altcoin can beat it down.

I'd choose Singapore because I think they're most creative in their approach to tackling situations.
For example, take a look at their water purifying system. They convert every drop of wasted water into drinkable, and that's crazy wow for me.

You can call me a tech fan because the reason I chose Singapore for the blockchain capital but I don't mind.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Bitcoin Traders Arrested Due To Illegal Trading on: September 08, 2022, 04:59:24 PM
Bitcoin is famous and journalists like to portray bitcoin as a negative influence on people.
Have you ever seen any positive news about bitcoin on TV ? Mostly no right.

Not all journalists like to portray bitcoin as a negative influence some do.
On the news however, it's a different thing but I've seen Negative, positive, and neutral info regarding bitcoin on the news, mostly negative when bitcoin was under 1k.

So whenever bitcoin is involved in any crime the journalists put the limelight on bitcoin as if it is because of only that the crime had happened.

It's not only on bitcoin, but the majority of the news is shown in a way where it's supposed to intrigue the audience and what's better than bitcoin.

People should understand that it's because of the negative mind of the criminals that crimes happen.
All the other things are just a catalyst.

Criminal and not criminal. In the case of this thread, those 4 were involved in money laundering, which could've been due to the use of bitcoin, most likely they used some mixer and the authorities came to know about it when they got the physical components of their computer on which they were doing this.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Bitcoin Traders Arrested Due To Illegal Trading on: September 08, 2022, 01:12:36 PM
Newspaper or the whole media world will go with the title which is more attractive so they will get more readers and engagement respectively but in the article if they mentioned the actual reason for this arrest is kind of shady activities involved not only for doing trading with cryptocurrencies.

Exactly. Just by doing btc trading, it's hard for the authorities to detect bitcoin trading unless these people were caught for something shady other than bitcoin illegal trading.
I also think these people were a part of the same group, and 1 of them getting caught lead to the arrest of all 4 of them.

731  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: September 07, 2022, 03:47:53 PM
The last 2 days the bitcoin price dropped more than 10% and is now only around $18600, I hope we are at the lowest point and hope to return to $20k soon, if previously the price was below $20k it only happened a maximum of 40 hours and now it's more than Our 50 hours are under $20k.

We have seen worse when btc went under 200$ in past, I'm bullish on bitcoin for the end of this year.
I think we'll see a sudden surge in btc price like we saw in past, btc going over 1k, then 10k, then 20k. those boundaries were crossed quickly, I think the same will happen now.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 07, 2022, 02:30:16 PM
You will own nothing & be happy’
Klaus Schwab

You are controlled & stolen from every year via inflation. Sure we need fiat for every day purchases in most countries but that will lessen & lessen. Bitcoin is here to stay, deflationary & decentralised. Take control of your own finance & self custody.

"You will own nothing and still be happy" that quote is one of the nonsense I hear from rich people.
They want to take everything and turn you into a slave, is what it means to own nothing.

I don't understand how naive someone can be to fall for that.

734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do $19k again before a bull market? on: September 07, 2022, 01:10:45 PM
I usually don't bother my self about BTC price but always keep update with news. But yet I decided to take a look at the price chart, then I saw that BTC price has broke the support for $20,700, the direction of the market has turned bearish and the next support should be seen in the $18k / $19k  area. There may be a continuous downward movement this weekend. Trade with mindfulness and add a stop loss in all trades.
If it happens that Bitcoin goes down to $18 or 19k, that will be the last time it will go that low this year, what do you guys think about this (Bitcoin experts in the forum)?

I made a similar thread "https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5412226.0"
Where I stated if it will go 45k$ before the end of this year, my guess was yes to that.
I'd say it's not necessary to cross 20700 but once the bull run happens it will be a very quick transition for the bitcoin's price.
735  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 Digital banks are now involved in the cryptocurrency on: September 07, 2022, 01:05:42 PM
Does it's a new banks on Philippines ? I don't think digital banks are something new anymore. AFAIK Philippines also a friendly country about cryptocurrency, so it's not really surprising for me. The disadvantage of digital banks are hack incident and getting phished, so anyone should visit the right URL before giving any sensitive information.

The banks will indeed be on the list of hackers to exploit; in any case, the banks should hire some cryptocurrency experts along with white hat hackers to prevent any damage from being done to the banks.

Although digital banks sound like more convenient than land based banks, but you could give a try and you will know the requirement to make a new account isn't easy that would take for few days or week to complete it.

Well, digital banks will have ATMs for bitcoin transfers, and my guess for minimum account requirements for registering an account with them would be a lot of T&C.
And those T&Cs will be skipped by many, as we know.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 Bitcoin Traders Arrested Due To Illegal Trading on: September 07, 2022, 12:51:03 PM
The news I read is in Bengali, and if I translate the news, then according to the news sources, those 4 people who are placed in Narshingdi are arrested not only for using bitcoin, though bitcoin is illegal in Bangladesh, but they are also being arrested because they are doing some kind of money laundering. According to the news, they first use some illegal and banned dating websites, then from other countries' people take dollars, then they convert those dollars into cash through the p2p method. Finally, they convert that cash into bitcoin again through the p2p method. So Bitocin is illegal, which means they did not pay taxes because of the p2p method, and RAB suspects they are involved in money laundering. So that's the overall news.

Well, that's tragic for these people, I think cops arrested those in money laundering then after doing more digging on these people they found them enrolling in bitcoin trading which is illegal in Bangladesh as you stated.

Now my closing statement on this matter is that no doubt this arrest is a good job because these guys are scamming people and laundering money, but in this case, the news portal highlights bitcoin that it is illegally traded. What I do think is good. Because they choose illegal paths like dating websites and money laundering, but you can't use balmebitcoin for this. That's my opinion. What do you think about this news? Please share it with us. Thank you.

I don't understand how they're scamming people if they're doing the illegal trading, which are 2 separate things.
Is it possible they all were a part of the same group?
737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: September 05, 2022, 02:51:56 PM
My prediction for BTC reaching 45k before this end is yes, it will hit at least 40k if not 45k.
What are the reasons why BTC price to increase above $40k this year?
In my opinion, the possible highest price of Bitcoin at the end of this year may be around $25k - $30k. But it is also possible to drop $15k - $18k. Whether it will increase or drop, depends on the issues on Bitcoin or crypto in the next 2-3 months (Q4 of 2022). The current price of Bitcoin is around $19k, it has a big gap between $19k and $40k, I am pessimistic it will be achieved in 2-3 months.

No huge reason for bitcoin to pump and to many threats which can cause dumps like crisis still occuring around the world so I must say that provably we can see more dump to come rather than seeing a huge pump(bull run). And I also guess that we will be playing at the figure you given since this is what bitcoin movements at the moment.

That's possible, however in past we've been in the same place and bitcoin broke through every dump and bull run was huge.
I'm positive that bitcoin will be able to do the same again, I'm buying bullish on btc for long run.

Let's make a prediction that whether BTC will hit 45k again.
My prediction for BTC reaching 45k before this end is yes, it will hit at least 40k if not 45k.

If you follow the market, then you can see that we are far from any serious bull run, and that even $25 000 was a serious obstacle that we bounced back from. Small investors are under the increasing impact of inflation, and the big ones are quite cautious and are looking for some much safer investments than Bitcoin.

Expecting a 100% price increase is too optimistic at this moment, and something extremely positive would really have to happen for that to happen. I don't know if Mr. Mars has some plans to buy BTC again and thus bring a little excitement to the market again, or maybe rely on our local magician from the forum who says that he can push the price exactly in the direction you imagined Roll Eyes

Well, yes if you follow the technical indicators then crossing 25K mark is huge. I should have made the title let's gamble the price if bitcoin will cross 45k mark again like before.

I've made at least 40% in an IOTA- BTC trade back in 2017-2018.
738  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: September 04, 2022, 08:38:05 AM
if we look at the history of the 4-year cycle, of course we need to wait a few more years from now on, but if we look at the history of the annual cycle, actually the bitcoin price charts are the same as last year where the end of the year experienced an increase, that's what I learned from several threads on this forum about analysis. bitcoin price

If its the cycle that we are to base our prediction, 45K is just not possible because we have a 2 more years before the halving.  2 more years to endure since we are  out of options but to wait.

There are just too many resistance level before we could go back to that bullish numbers.  Just wish you wouldn't have to sell your BTC to pay your electricity bill.
unfortunately I don't own bitcoin and only hold a few altcoins, but my altcoins will also go up if the bitcoin price goes up and goes back into a bull market, so I won't sell them until our market really enters a bull market

Most of the altcoins are in sync with the price of Bitcoin.
I've seen apeswap's banana price moving in parallel with the bitcoin and a few more; not sure if every altcoin behaves like this, but the majority follows the bitcoin during pumps or dumps.
739  Economy / Speculation / Will BTC reach 45k before this year ends. on: September 03, 2022, 02:34:58 PM
Let's make a prediction that whether BTC will hit 45k again.

My prediction for BTC reaching 45k before this end is yes, it will hit at least 40k if not 45k.

I also think it's the best time to buy btc considering you'll get a chance to enter at a good price rather than complaining later on that you missed the "TOO THAA MOON"

740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could these 4000+BTC whale addresses possibly be up to? on: September 02, 2022, 01:05:43 PM
I didn't search very deep and managed to find all of those addresses that sum-up to 16506.9152708 BTC which equals to 332,548,315$ USD  Shocked
Does anyone know what this could possibly be? Is it bots trying to "launder" Bitcoin?

Regards, excro

I think it could be related to some mixer's funds if they're still active.

It could also be more likely that these addresses are related to exchange, more likely finance, I could be wrong here as I don't know the addresses binance uses.
