721  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I a bad person if I manage to avoid taxes? (Hypothetical question) on: August 13, 2023, 01:51:02 PM
In my country almost all transactions must pay taxes, even the government is making rules for small restaurant businesses with a turnover of just under $ 20k then you have to pay taxes, officers are always active around places or shops on the side of the road and give rules if you avoid tax will be applied fines up to prison.

I don't know, here in my country where everything is also same as you said. Everything has taxes, they would like to put any transactions as possible to apply taxes, so what could be the reason? Of course, corruption. With those taxes, lot of taxes they could easily rob fund of the country for their own comfort. Evading tax is literally could get you to jail, but if you are doing it like in the crypto, they can't arrest you for it since crypto is decentralized and not controlled by the government. I think this would only apply to any businesses especially the big one that are not registered plus doesn't contributing tax for the country. And some people could also evade tax from their own salary especially if you are in the higher position since you have the power to manipulate things that could evade taxes. So they can have their full income with the deduction of taxes which is actually huge if you salary income is high.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had a time traveling machine, then? on: August 13, 2023, 01:05:09 PM
Op some people will like to go back again and to accumulate enough bitcoin because at that time when bitcoin price was very low, the awareness and adoption was very low. It was only few people that knew bitcoin and used it. An now that people have known bitcoin like this, and they want to buy but the price rate is restricting them from buying so if bitcoin go back to it early price again. I will accumulate enough.

That's the common thing to do if people would have the chance to go back in time which is buy more Bitcoin or even bet a lotto. Since I always watch things like go back in time movies where if something that meant to happened got interfere, then most likely the canon event would be chance so is Bitcoin would still reach it's current price if people just would go back in time just to hodl them? Or it could reach more here than the current value of Bitcoin? But in my case. I would not just only focus on Bitcoin because for sure back then I don't have the money to invest huge at Bitcoin so I would do some part time job then would invest with some other alternative investment as well like some good business that are trending recently. So when I have a passive income, it would be easier to invest at Bitcoin with spare money.

724  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we improve our country's economy by on culture or ecosystem? on: August 12, 2023, 04:54:19 PM
In reality fixing a nations economy is simple, it's not that hard, but people just don't want to do it. You need to cut down on the corruption, a lot less, probably zero if you could and then cut the taxes thanks to that, if you have no corruption then you do not need to do that much taxes. When all that tax is gone, everyone will have a lot more money and the nation will be richer and they will get to spend it and the economy will grow.

It's that simple, eradicate corruption and that means that you are going to end up with something that matters a lot. This should be the most important aspect of it and could be considered as the real key here, and that way it can improve a lot in the end when the time comes.
It would be amazing to have zero corruption, don't you think? As simple as that sounds, it's not. This is like to saying, "All we need is peace in the world, and everything will be okay." Even so, how can we really accomplish it?

The true difficulty lies in putting anti-corruption measures into practice, not in writing them. Concerning taxes, what about them? I would love to be able to purchase more cool items from my favorite online retailers if taxes were to drop. Nevertheless, you know, taxes pay for a lot of necessities. hospital, school, or road? Furthermore, those items won't simply pay for themselves if there is no corruption

Though there are still a lot of finer elements to work out, the overall concept is quite attractive. Activating the light switch and witnessing everything come to life is not the only complicated aspect of it

I don't know maybe if there's no corruption here in my country you won't see any children begging near the road. You could even see the government officials living in the comfort life with a mansion houses like where did they have the money to afford that right? Of course corruption.

Not only the taxes prices that are the thing but also almost any transactions here are included tax like some restaurant. If they don't take the fund of the taxes of the people maybe some kids are afford to go to school with some support from the government as well the scholarship. There's a lot of thing that the corruption have affect to people but they prefer to choose to live in comfort. If ever there's no corruption and still the country are worse maybe the citizen itself doesn't even cooperate for the better country, well there's no such thing as perfect.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin best option to invest on: August 12, 2023, 04:07:32 PM

This is why I believe that Bitcoin investment is not for everybody, Some responsibilities are at stake for some people and they won't be able to afford a Sat of Bitcoin, some won't be able to complete their HODL dreams, and they will get tired along the way because they are of needs.

It is true that not everyone is economically qualified to invest in bitcoin but if I compare bitcoin investment with other investments, I find bitcoin investment much easier.  I mean, you can invest in bitcoin any amount you have, even 10$ or 20$, although the profit will be negligible.  but it's better than other investments, and there's nothing you can do with that money when you think about gold or real estate.  bitcoin is for everyone, but not everyone accepts it, it depends on each person's ability, bitcoin does not reject anyone.
Yes, we usually thought that was too easy but if you don't have good knowledge about Bitcoin and how to manage your wallet, you will be surprised that your funds are already gone. That is why I don't agree that Bitcoin is for everyone but rather say that we all have the opportunity, yet it is only our choice or desire to do it as it was not a good idea to force someone when they are not capable enough as in the end, they only regret it.
So I say, those who can afford to take risks can try Bitcoin but if not, better to forget it and look for an investment that we think can do it.

Despite the convenience investment Bitcoin could give to anyone due to its decentralized system, if you lack the knowledge of course you will also lack the chance to profit. Bitcoin is actually a good investment if you know what you are doing, but if you think that this investment doesn't suit you which is the crypto currency, there's a lot of alternative investment. Because some peopel despite the knowledge they have but if they don't have the motivation to study and analyze thing because that doesn't suit their skills and thinking then it's okay to find another investment than Bitcoin. If you want you could start with some small business or buy some real state that you can open for rental like air bnb.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: HOW DO WE TRANSFER BITCOIN WEALTH TO HEIRS AND THE NEXT GENERATION on: August 12, 2023, 01:58:28 PM
This thought have been bothering me for a while and I feel we can discuss it here. Many people that are building their Bitcoin portfolio are doing it to also save for the coming generation. However, how this wealth will be transferred to the heirs and the next generation and how this wealth will be preserved without being lost or causing problems still remain unclear.

I understand for other tangible assets, a WILL can be written to be revealed when the time is right. But for Bitcoin, I don't know how this can be done as it may require revealing the secrete codes of the wallets or storage device. Is there any other way this can be done?

My thought was captured in my comment in this thread but I felt to raise a topic for most discussion. In case this topic have been discussed, I will be glad to be pointed to the thread.

If you are thinking how can you passed down the wealth you've made with BTC why not introduce Bitcoin to them while you are still alive right? Because my wealth is really for the future for my family so I already have discussed to them in case there might happened to me (of course I wish not), I told them that I have some assets in my portfolio and will tell the step on how they could access it. Plus I would include steps writing in case they might forgot what I taught to them. Much better to teach the adult one like your wife about Bitcoin so she know how to manage the money for your family. Actually I've think having a video like disc would be a good idea and just simply label it, "how you could access my assets (Bitcoin)" then they could watch the step.
727  Other / Archival / Re: [A Bit of History] The most generous airdrop in the crypto history on: August 12, 2023, 08:33:39 AM
Bitcoin back then it's like any free airdrop nowadays in crypto which is more likely doesn't have any value yet. I have a lot of airdropped NFT's but mostly doesn't have any value. Maybe the good projects that have utilities and roadmap could even reach around $100-$200, but those airdrop for sure it wouldn't be easy unless you've registered or you have been contributing on the project. Damn BTC25 if only anyone have a diamond hands back then despite its value back then would be living the dream right now. That's why it's advisable that if you think some coin who doesn't have any acknowledgement yet, just HODL. We couldn't predict it so the best thing to do even on other alternative coins is to HODL them. For sure BTC airdrop nowadays is not a thing anymore since everyone knows the potential and value of Bitcoin.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine creating something revolutionary and just leaving lol on: August 11, 2023, 07:05:21 PM
Satoshi might still be living among us or dead, but it doesn't matter; all that matters is that the technology he designed is working effectively the way he thought of it before or after creating Bitcoin.
Perhaps Satoshi said that a lost Bitcoin "only make everyone else's coins worth slightly more." So, a Bitcoiner should consider his lost wallet key as a donation to the success of Bitcoin technology, what if he also just distroy the key for his wallets that hold a huge sum of Bitcoin? In this life, before something can work the way we expected it to, there are some sacrifices we must make, which I guess is what Satoshi Nakamto did. He locked up a huge amount of Bitcoin in his wallet and probably distroyed the private key to the wallet. He also realised that his technology might not really be decentralised if he made himself known. So, it's all for the good of Bitcoin.

I remember the movie "Ready Player One" where the world runs on VR which is called Oasis made by Halliday. I just like how you can compare him to Satoshi where he made it and most of the people use it and it help the economy of the country. Despite the fact that you don't have any news about him like isn't he dead or not, his invention are getting used by people. Only thign is that Bitcoin is not yet adopted fully by most of the people. Plus I think Satoshi did not really planned what would be the outcome of Bitcoin today which is makes it more amazing. His invention with Bitcoin as of today already helped a lot of people so it would be thankful for him to create BTC.
729  Economy / Economics / Re: Real estate vs cryptocurrencies vs business on: August 11, 2023, 05:46:57 PM
I will spread that half mil in all of them. Real estate and have my airbnb's rented and at the same time rental properties as well.

As for crypto, I'll try to make my own farm with a solar panel on it. Despite that I have been here for quite a while, I haven't owned yet a mining farm and that's why I'll buy ASICS with that.

And for a business, maybe I'll do something like dropshipping business and will get into it or any other business that I may be interested with. This is an actual diversification that everyone has to have.

Well at least you have idea when you invest on these three, but if I were going to invest. Maybe I will start with a little first on these three as alternate investment. For crypto I would just buy some BTC and would hodl them and for the business, maybe a little catering would do good but I'm not really good at cooking but my wife so I could just do the labor to help her and assist her. As for the real state, we also have the same interest with rental air bnb. Because here in the PH, it's popular to have rental places especially to the tourist spot. You could earn almost $1000 in just few months but of course just minus the needs for the air bnb. That is my main investment but for now, I would focus on crypto since I'm too busy to handle work plus havinga business.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gas station payment with bitcoin. on: August 11, 2023, 04:16:33 PM
What you have done is good. You can be saving and storing bitcoin from there too. But the only thing for now is that you might not have enough customers who are into bitcoin in the moment but at time goes on, they will increase. And how is your experience on the transaction duration? I mean does it take time? And which of the wallet are you using bro received the payment?
As expected, because till now, Bitcoin serves as another payment option. Although we can post "Bitcoin is Accepted here", but if the people around you are no-how about Bitcoin, I don't think it will work. However, it was a good way of starting crypto exposure because that will also gain interest, and asking what is Bitcoin as for sure it creates curiosity which could lead to searching. Who could benefit from it? Of course, everyone, and the more we spread Bitcoin, the more it will encourage businesses to accept it.
You have a good point here. It is a subtle way of exposing Bitcoin to those who are not aware of it. Imagine two people at the counter paying at the same time and one of them will be paying for Bitcoin, surely the other will hear about this and will get curious. Now that person will either ask on the go what Bitcoin is or will conduct his/her own research. In a way that act just started an effect, soon after that very same person will discuss Bitcoin to his family and friends.

It is indeed a good idea, I have an idea with these when people got curious on Bitcoin. Like put a picture of a qr code since most people are already known and aware on how qr code works where they could just simply scan it and will direct them to the introduction to the Bitcoin. Because almost all of the smart phone devices right now has a features of scanning a qr code. By that they will have a background information about Bitcoin so if they would like to do some deep research about it, they could research more at home. Cause in my case, qr code is actually convenient tool to be honest like just a simple code when they scan there would be a lot of information included there. If you're living in a countryside where there's no literally qr thing you could just simply put a brief description for them to understand.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: think before investing on: August 11, 2023, 02:50:47 PM
though I feel bad about your friend losing his money through trading Bitcoin, but I think he's foolish to sell his property and use the money to buy Bitcoin and trade without any knowledge about it. the dude literally wasted his money because he got too greedy when he heard about "high profit" when trading or investing in Bitcoin. glad the friend is doing well though(at least according to your post).
I did not blame him that much. because he hard about Bitcoin at the first time and the benefits and gain on it, why trading it. Normally trading of Bitcoin give money if you know what you are doing. he loss huge amount of money because of Bitcoin, but I thank God today, his also gaining huge amount true Bitcoin.

From what you said, I have a feeling that you make money from bitcoin trading pretty easily. Honestly, I don't see many people who can make money from trading let alone make a huge amount of money. It sounds simple, but entering the trade and making a profit is not as simple as you are saying.

And you're saying, he made that huge amount of money back after losing it all? I wonder, how much time did you and your friend spend doing it?
You are confusing me more with your story. How can a person after selling his property and losing it all because of bitcoin trading, but then suddenly he can earn back a huge amount in bitcoins?

Actually pretty confusing because it's not that easy to most people to recover from a huge loss, some wouldn't even risk for once after losing a huge amount of money. It would take a long time to learn from that mistake because you can't rush to learn something that fast especially crypto since it's pretty complicated that you'll have to familiarize yourself. If your friend risk all of his property just to recover his loss then good for him but that's a huge risk so in your case OP, it's pretty confusing. Trading is much more complicated and riskier but more quick than in investing if he risk it all then good for him he profited.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chase to control the market! on: August 10, 2023, 05:01:25 PM
I have been in crypto for more than 5 years and i have seen a lot of incidents within the industry. There was a time when government and even a lot of people call Bitcoin a scam or a scammer currency. Many thought that only hacker scammers use Bitcoin for money laundering, drug dealing etc. But now the situation has changed and it's good to see how institution chasing each other to not be late to join the industry. The situation is so intense that now what matter most is who will control the market. In the current situation, it seems, no one wants to be the last one to jump over space.

It's normal for Bitcoin to have a negative background to some people since they don't have the knowledge yet about the potential that Bitcoin could give. We all know that due to Bitcoin's decentralization, we can't deny that some criminal activities are present in Bitcoin but of course it's not Bitcoin to blame since its open for everyone. As for the government they can't control the market as crypto industry is decentralized. Here in my country they which is the PH, they really want to put some taxes in every transactions in crypto since they are aware that people could earn huge money without even paying taxes. So of course they did not succeed. A government could only ever do is to ban them in their country. It would really depends on the people on what would be the fate of their assets in crypto.
733  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 10, 2023, 03:33:05 PM
Certainly it is not supposed to be easy, you cannot reach any goal in this life, no matter how small it may seem, without making effort and hardship and striving to achieve this goal.

Take, for example, I suffered a lot at the beginning of the forum, and I was wondering how to get a merit? Can my rank rise one day in the forum as these members did? But with patience, perseverance, follow-up on good work, and determination to achieve the goal, I managed to do that, thank God.

Everyone can do it, but they need patience, learning, self-development, and persistence to reach the goal.

Exactly, anything has a processed and with that process, for sure there's a lot of challenges you will face so it literally ain't meant to be easy. Because nowadays people would love to have a quick rich or easy money which is not pretty realistic. If you are really eager to reach that goal, for sure you are not scared to start with nothing. And OP actually exampled the forum merits and activity which is really hard to reach this stage. If you are genuine member in the forum, you wouldn't even focus on getting merit as long as you are contributing, people would give it to you since you deserve it. If you are wondering if you have a progress? Just take a look at your old self or even yesterday if you have any improvement. This actually helps me to become a better person everyday.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I see it, I feel it, I know it and it will live forever. on: August 10, 2023, 02:21:27 PM
I was sharing my testimony with some of my neighbors last two weeks, that thought BTC will not cross 14 years before it will disappear like other cryptocurrencies and it has crossed 14 years and some months now. BTC be the first cryptocurrency I have started my journey with in the community, it has helped me to seen wonders around me, feel greatness around my believe and it will live forever to fulfill purpose in the world. I received text message from my neighbors this morning, that they have seen many reasons why BTC will live forever and they want to be part of the decentralized currency in this period since they have some huge amount of money they are not using now than to invest them in BTC till it will cross to 20 year old before they can sell to share their own testimony. I believe many people here also have testimony to share about their BTC journey and how people try to discourage them but they still go ahead to embrace BTC. For what you have seen so far in BTC, do you think it will live forever? and if it live forever will you be part of those who will love to share the good news to people? You opinion is highly welcome.

I think no, it might took a lot of years before BTC crash down but for sure it wouldn't live forever. This is only my opinion, because people are really like to get "fomo". Well from your post OP, seems your neighbor just acknowledged Bitcoin after many years. It might be a temporary feeling for them to be optimistic or biased at Bitcoin but always remember that it's still involves risk since Bitcoin is highly volatile which you cannot predict. It's a good thing to invest at Bitcoin but I hope your neighbor did some research first despite the money that he will risk. I'm not a fud here I also love Bitcoin as it gives many opportunity to us people. As long as there's still a chance that it has a downside, I wouldn't be biased as I want to be safe as well.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has nothing to do with crime on: August 09, 2023, 03:55:41 PM
Bitcoin was made for everyone to use for any transactions, which is decentralized so you have the power to control your assets whatever you like. Due to Bitcoin's decentralized system since it's part of the crypto, many people would use it to any thing such as illegal activities. Criminals might love to use Bitcoin since they can anonymously have transactions so I think that also might be the reason why the government would love to centralized it. So they could gather some data and trace the identity of people that involves to any crime. Not only that, some people might use the name of "Bitcoin" just to scam innocent people especially newbies. Since people are already aware on Bitcoin's potential many of them would want to own even 1 BTC, so those people are the most common target of scammers. These could be the reason why some people couldn't even want to acknowledge Bitcoin due to this issues because in banks they have the liability to secure your funds.
736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin recover even if it fell to one dollar? on: August 09, 2023, 02:32:50 PM
Though this question doesn't make sense, the answer is always yes because there are lots of industries that already adopted bitcoins and make it one of their accepted payments. Others might gonna banned from bitcoins in their companies but there will still be a remaining that will gonna be supporting it until the end and that's the same reason for the price to rise again if ever a catastrophe on bitcoin price will occur in the future. the only thing they can do is to stop accepting bitcoins but to be totally banned all over the world is next to impossible.

Yes, the fact that Bitcoin are starting to adopt worldwide and get acknowledged by some countries. Imagine Bitcoin was banned at China but you could still see a lot of people there keep using Bitcoin as an investment and doign some trading or mining. We'll just have to compare it to gold which is relies on the supply and demand, due to limited number of Bitcoin as many people would buy it, it will increases it's value especially in the long run. And also it's volatile which people love since they use that nature as advantage for them to profit and it is decentralized so you could control your assets whatever you like meaning it's up to you the fate of your money. With these sample for sure it would literally impossible for Bitcoin to reach $1 especially this day where people are aware to Bitcoin's value so they would buy it and were gonna back to supply and demand.
737  Economy / Economics / Re: New Research found Work from home workers to be less productive on: August 09, 2023, 01:47:01 PM
In my case to this topic, I would literally want to work on field since I know to myself that I would just laze around after doing some tasks because if you are at work, you are focused to finished all things unlike at home. Like some problems at houses that could distract you to finish your work for example cleaning, of course for you to have a good performance you'll have to clean your workplace at home where in the work field they have some people that could finish the cleaning. Also the thing that if you are with your family's house since I'm still a working student, they would just keep asking you to do something like simple issues that they could fix despite you're working. Maybe the environment itself would be the reason why I would prefer work at field and of course it would cause me to be productive since I couldn't laze around the work.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: think before investing on: August 09, 2023, 01:04:37 PM
I became more interesting on this topic when my friend hard about the profit on trading and investing on bitcoins.without  the ideas or knowledge about it. because he only hard  that, there are high profit on investing on Bitcoin. without knowing how Bitcoin is been trade. he went and sold his property to invest on Bitcoin without been knowledgeable about it. he went ahead and invest but loss everything because he doesn't know how to trade Bitcoin.

He came and told me everything. i feel pity on him, and started teaching him how Bitcoin is been trade and invest. He was very serious to lean and now his happy and his doing very well. in every business or investment you are in backing on, I think you need to lean and be  knowledgeable about it before you invest on it.

From your post OP, I think you're saying that your friend "invested" but in the next paragraph you said he loss everything by "trading". Which I think the those two are different thing because if you invest at Bitcoin anytime you could decide whenever you want to sell even if it's on low value as long as you are holding then it reaches your aim value then you have a profit. While trading is like a short time you could earn money but the fact that it's too complicated since it's more riskier than investment. Some investor would literally try things out especially if they heard that there are some easy money like in crypto.

Because they have the mindset of high risk, high reward but if you don't have any knowledge about it then most likely it wouldn't succeed especially in crypto. Because in some investment such as business, we all are aware on how to run a basic business so even a simple knowledge would do as long as you have the funds. But never ever risk something that you will be needing just to risk it on something you don't know, it's just the dumbest thing to do.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can Bitcoin provide food for our table on: August 08, 2023, 03:46:30 PM
after going through my research about Bitcoin, I can confidently say that, Bitcoin can provide food on our table. when you exchange Bitcoin to buy a particular thing, like food, house, or a drink. it means that, Bitcoin has provided it for you.

Good thing that you are researching but make sure that sources are reliable. You could only provide food on the table using Bitcoin only if you are gonna invest or trade so if you are not holding any Bitcoin it can't provide your needs. So you'll have to invest first put some funds for you to own Bitcoin then when you profit from it's value then you can convert it to fiat money to provide all of your needs such as foods. If your country are open to Bitcoin transactions well you could try it to avoid the hassle of converting. But we all know the potential of Bitcoin than fiat so if would be better to using fiat than Bitcoin in transactions. My point is you'll have to work for it first so you could invest and trade, like having source of income for you to have investment. As you said that "Bitcoin should be a sideline hustle" you still need to find a stable income than relying on Bitcoin for your needs.
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I lost my life savings trading Bitcoin Don't be like me. on: August 08, 2023, 02:11:35 PM
I don't know why am I am posting this here but I wanted someone to talk to. Since I can't talk about this to my family or friends because I am ashamed of myself. I am lazy piece of garbage who tried to make money the easy way, and get rich quick trading. I have failed my family and myself, I deserve everything that happened and will happen to me. It's time to take accountability for my actions. I think this will be my last message to the world, I am sorry

Sorry for your experience, but that experience would be a lesson for you please don't take it bad for yourself because your only intention was to earn money. Well you can really earn in trading but if you rush things out you will just get pressured which affect your thinking and skills. It's alright to share your burden even here the forum just remind that when there's a risky thing that you are going to do, please invest in yourself first with knowledge and time.
