7221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar Lumens To Touch $0.66 USD by 2019 End on: February 13, 2019, 12:48:35 PM
If there is a market recovery down the line this 2019, then Stellar Lumens could be one coins that will benefit from it since this is a steady coins for the last couple of years so I wouldn't be surprise if the price hits $0.66 and specially if devs are really active and always regularly updated the project and improved it.

So it really depends on the market conditions this year, if it improved then most notable coins will ride the wave, if not then we are in for a very bad rude awakening as the price might continue to go down.
7222  Other / Off-topic / Re: A chance to go back in time and do just one thing. on: February 13, 2019, 12:40:49 PM
I can't imagine myself being the person behind Facebook so I must say that If given the chance to travel back in time, then I would definitely go on bitcoin mining in early days  Grin

Just imagine that you can mine it using ordinary PC and you will make a lot of bitcoins and then just continue to mine as long as you can and let it sit in your wallet and wait till 2017 so dump some of your stash and buy Lambo, that would be amazing.
7223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The crypto market is starting to improve??? on: February 13, 2019, 12:35:16 PM
no, it will not last, the market will turn to red for sure, I don't see the market improving it is still down for me.

Right, we may have some improvement in the last week or so, but it doesn't mean it will be sustainable. As far as I know the recent price increase was due to the 'eventual' approval of Bitcoin ETF, so many FOMO.

But if you have to read between the lines,  I don't know why people started to get excited, personally, it doesn't mean a imminent approval, it might have a good chance but I don't see it likely to be approved. And after the noise has died down, the market seems to stabilized again, sort of.
7224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there still opportunities for ICO? on: February 13, 2019, 10:00:37 AM
at the moment the success of any ICO will depend on the amount to be raised. ICO with high capital needed to start a project might not even reach softcap. this is because few people are investing in ICO this day. However, I strongly believe that any serious Project should not focus on getting all the money required to start the project from ICO. after all, we still have so many crypto project that are being developed but do not offer initial coin offering

It's because investors attitude are still affected by the current bear market, but there are a lot of projects hitting there soft or hard cap so I guess investors are willing as long as the project looks promising.

Maybe the opportunity is still there, but it's no where close in a bull market in 2017. Money can be made but not the same, you could hit a jackpot if the ICO become successful, but you have to take that risk as well.
7225  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ready to Jump in Crypto. Again! (Looking for Advise) on: February 13, 2019, 09:46:42 AM
I don't think trading requires a lot of time, buying and selling when you have free time, indeed, if you think of it, traders must always monitor market prices, but that's not true either. Cryptocurrency in my view is a place that has a big risk so it is impossible if you do not lose your money, there are times when we make profits and losses, maybe you can invest in buying gold or deposits because it suits your wishes.

I beg to disagree, I think if you're really a beginner, you need to spent a lot of time learning the trick and trade of this market. You can't just put order, or used a bot as a beginner, you need to understand how everything works, the technical stuff and something.

Those who trades with bots to automate thing are far more advance and can just spend less time monitoring the price and just comes back when everything has settled down. If you really don't want to spend time here it's either you just buy and HODL on it, or just simply stay away until such time that you're ready.
7226  Economy / Economics / Re: welcome bulls , Bye bears on: February 13, 2019, 09:23:03 AM
The circumstances can change and make 2019 a promising year for us. It is also possible to see high values in terms of price if new developments are introduced in the adoption of Bitcoin.

I believed that everyone is looking for a change this 2019, but so far the price continue to suffer and there's no major movement whatsoever.

So it means that we have a long way to go this 2019, but I don't want to be negative but I'm not seeing any significant news that will make this a good recovery year. We will continue to trade sideways and will only see minor spike and there will be no bull-run, in my opinion.
7227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Union Bank of the Philippines Launching Cryptocurrency ATM on: February 13, 2019, 09:12:20 AM
The Phillippines is catching up with the rest of crypto friendly nations with the launching of Union Bank's bitcoin atm. Banks have been considered anti cryptocurrency in the past but this local bank even lead the nation's first crypto atm. With this development, the adoption of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the Philippines is boosted further and I hope this event will finally put the country in a crytocurrency map.

Right, that's why this news is making a lot of noise, specially coming from one of the largest banks in the  country. The country is alrady in the cryptocurrency map because it is already friendly and has amended regulations like AML/KYC for local exchanges.

Only the Philippines is only a small country, but it will surely influence the rest of the region and it could boost bitcoin adoption by local merchants and even big stores in the Philippines, it's really very cool if that happen in the future.
7228  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are traders born or made? on: February 11, 2019, 10:42:09 AM
Not clicking as well, this is another market strategy from the looks of it.

But to answer the questions, for me everything can be taught or learn in this life. So definitely, it can be made. I'm sure that majority of us didn't know how to be a good trader or investor. But as we go along this journey, we learn some lessons and we gain experienced. We learn how to control our emotions and use logic to make trades so no doubt that every aspects of life can be taught, imho.

7229  Other / Off-topic / Re: Company Will Pay You $100,000 to Give Up Your Smartphone for a Year on: February 11, 2019, 10:33:01 AM
No links, no proof. I doubt this will be a real challenge since a lot of people can do it.
There are lots of links, but the found the person to do it.
https://www.thisisinsider.com/smartphone-addiction-contest-vitaminwater-2018-12

Ok, I don't want to click the link but obviously this is a marketing ploy for the company. Of course, I think they can find a lot of people willing to take the challenge because of the attractive prize.

But I guess, they will just choose one person only for this challenge and will follow the progress like how is he/she doing without his smartphone or if he/she can really maintain the agonising year without your phone around. We all know that every corner of the world, you can find someone with at least one smart phones, so this is going to be interesting.
7230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum back in number 2 on: February 11, 2019, 10:12:57 AM
Ok, I just look at cmc and indeed Ethereum is back. Good trading volume though in the last 24 hours, which is a indication that investors are possibly shifting to Ethereum again and pumping it, or they are buying in anticipation of the reported fork.

But remember that we are still in the bear market, so for everyone thinking that this is a continued growth then, just be careful. Of course, there is the potential but unless bitcoin goes on another bull run, altcoins will still suffer at this trend, including Ethereum. So let's see how the price turns out prior the the fork but most importantly after, thats where I'm afraid of, maybe after the fork is done there might be another sell-off to make a quick profit.
7231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the Bitcoin Bubble Burst is Good for Crypto on: February 11, 2019, 10:07:44 AM
The bubble burst of bitcoin is good becouse  it being bitcoin price to the level were every one can invest.  New investors that desire to buy bitcoin when it was very cheap are now happy because with  $3600 one can now Buy a whole bitcoin that went as high $20,000 in December 2017. Of a truth the continue bearish market has affected every thing and many investors has lose hope of recovery but we strongly believe and encourage those that are buying now to continue as bitcoin is going to recover in no time.

I don't think that there are new investors buying in just because the price is very cheap. New investors are getting smarter I believed, and won't simply willing to take the risk on getting in today even if the price is still at a discount.

Mostly new investors loves to FOMO, so there's no way for them purchase at this long bearish market because they wanted to earn a quick and easy money and won't wait or HODL or it for a long time.
7232  Economy / Speculation / Re: I expect the market to be in green throughout this month. on: February 11, 2019, 09:58:48 AM
When I read  this news three days ago: https://www.rollcall.com/news/congress/the-future-holds-cryptocurrency-based-funds-says-secs-jackson. But since then market reacted a little and everything is now in red today.  I think investors and traders are still waiting for more clearly news to come out before pump the market.

We have been waiting for the news for so long that majority of us grow tired already from Bitcoin ETF approval. So it looks like  we are back to normal again and there is no more pump as the price seems to settle at the $3600 again.

Not to burst your bubble, but don't put too much expectations this coming months as I don't see anything that will push the price again. It's going to be the usual sideway patterns and hope that the price won't go back to where it is before the pump, $3400.
7233  Economy / Economics / Re: More Countries Continue To Show Support For Blockchain Technology on: February 11, 2019, 09:46:40 AM
I see more countries entering the blockchain development this year. This will in no doubt help them to cut cost and wastage and even fight fraud. This necessarily don't really mean they are going to be friendly to Cryptocurrency at the same time.
I am sure majority of the countries will enter the blockchain development and research in coming years as the potential is really huge to organize and keep records which cannot be manipulated, even the countries that are against bitcoin and crypto market will spend money on research to build the infrastructure so that they could take advantage of the blockchain technology. The only thing i am looking forward is major countries coming out with clear regulation about the entire market and not to shut the innovation.

I guess there is always the possibilities that there are countries who will totally ban this innovation and who will go hostile on crypto and the technology behind.

Like what we have seen lately, usually it is a country that is developing that tends to embrace this technology because of its huge advantage, specially immutability.  And it only make sense though for developing nations to accept it with very openly because of the potential to help them continue to grow in the next 5-10 years and be first rate nation.
7234  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think the size of the FOMO going to be when it starts? on: February 11, 2019, 04:18:28 AM
recently we have seen a small preview of what the FOMO (fear of missing out) can look like in bitcoin market when the rise starts. we have also seen it many times when the reversals happen and generally whenever there is a rise.

so considering the current situation where most investors are scared, how big do you think the FOMO is going to be when the rises start?

Well, I will based on the average price that I witnessed during the bull cycle in 2017 and I would say it will be around $1k/day, I think this is just a conservative estimates though.

We really can't measure FOMO until such time that we're really in a bull run. But I would like to see is just a steady and slow growth, don't want to see massive spurts and then followed by eventual crash.
7235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC never approve Bitcoin ETF? on: February 11, 2019, 04:11:07 AM
There is a lot of press around this topic, and what I've taken away is:

- it will happen eventually
- it won't cause a massive influx of cash
- the head of US SEC thinks it "should" be approved soon

Given that applicants meet guidelines laid out for them...

Right, lately there's a lot of spike in the news again regarding the approval or rejection of Bitcoin ETF, that's while we made some rally in the last 2-3 days.

But, don't be excited because it is not yet approved so we can't see the net positive effect yet. If might really bring a influx of cash, but I would like to see its a steady growth and not the bubble that we have seen in 2017, so we need to wait.
7236  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reason why crypto market bull run on: February 11, 2019, 04:05:49 AM
Currently all price of crypto very cheap because been going down more than 90%, and after this long bear market huge potential the trend will change to bullish because that always changed. This young market has low capitalization and with more adoption and more regulation in crypto space so the market cap possible to increase above $1 trilliun.

Obviously, we have been in the longest bearish trend so far so that coins is still cheap.

So there's still potential to more money, you just have to be smarter and know how to play the game. If you're here for the long haul, then this is the perfect time to invest because as you have said almost all of the coins has lost 90% of its price.

Bull run might be around the corner or it could take months or years. But we shouldn't be disappointed though but take every opportunity and be smart so that you can make big profits in the future by investing today.
7237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: February 11, 2019, 02:50:19 AM
Another loss, 2 in a row already, but this should be a winning bet of the Blazers hold off.
They scored only 9 points in the entire 4th which is unusual for a high scoring team.

Right, totally unexpected for Portland to not even scored double digits in the fourth. But it's ok, we will take this lost and man up.

Will be back tomorrow.

Yes, a lot of basketball games ahead of us, this is just another bump but I'm sure that we will have a lot of winnings and streaks in the coming days.
7238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the cheater? on: February 11, 2019, 02:40:45 AM
Yes, both of them can be called cheaters.

Bounty hunters - enrolling multiple alts in a campaign so that they can claim more rewards.
ICO's - most of them are scammers and just putting up projects to be used as a pump-and-dump scheme.

So I guess no one is to blame here, sad but true.
7239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PUMP TIME? on: February 10, 2019, 07:50:16 AM
Does investing mean saving your money on a coin for a long time? now is not the right time because the price of a coin is very unstable, I suggest you trade if you want to make a profit

Of course this is still the best time because the price is cheap, imho.

Don't FOMO and enter when the price is already at peaked, let the 2017 be a lessons for everyone to slowly accumulate and buy during the dip or when the price is very low.

We have seen some changes in the last 48 hours but it doesn't mean that this is a bull run. It is still a perfect time to still get in before a eventual bull run occurs in the coming months.
7240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will Die on: February 10, 2019, 07:11:38 AM
A lot of positive things have been happening around the XRP, so I seriously doubt that it will just die.

As much as majority of us really hate XRP because of its closeness to banking system, we shouldn't take this negatively though and we should respect the people behind this technology.

If you are a bitcoin enthusiast then so be it. But If you're smart investor, then it's hard not to throw some money on XRP, it might go on a bull run together with bitcoin, so take advantage of the price right now, just saying.
