8181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rising to $14,000 beginning April on: April 02, 2018, 01:41:47 PM
Free Signal for people losing hope: Bitcoin is about to go upto $14,000.
If you are selling, dont sell. Hodl is the key here. Reap the benefit of waiting. For those waiting, invest now, buy buy and buy.
Dont listen to any negative comment below.

Am I missing something here? I admit that I was out for about a day and when I came back I'm seeing thread saying that bitcoin is going to $14K. Are there any news around that will make the market bounce back and be bullish?

Every year, the price of bitcoin will increase from April and thrive in the last months of the year. This is the general situation over the years

Hmmm. I don't know mate, times has changed so we are not sure if we are going to continue and see pattern. One thing though is that I'm not giving hope in this crisis and I still believe that we can overcome this bearish months and see another all-time-highs hit at the end of the year. But as far as hitting $14K? I doubt that we can get to it this month alone, for be a good run at $9K will be enough.
8182  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-01]Vitalik Buterin Angry with Facebook for Not Deleting Fake and Scam on: April 01, 2018, 01:13:19 PM
More social media platforms are reluctant to act on their own, which is why just as here on this forum, you have to keep reporting in order to initiate action from the moderators. If people just see a scam of fake account, but don't report it, then it will remain active for a very long time. Reports have to come from numerous people in order to trigger action on social media, because there is some sort of fake report barrier you have to break through in order to make it. I'm sure that he with his following can trigger mass report attacks on these accounts, which should take these accounts offline within 24 hours, especially in obvious cases. It's a global problem that affects non crypto individuals as well.

Yeah I totally agree. But the problem with social media is that they said they are going to ban ads regarding crypto so it would make sense for them to really filter out those fake profiles as well. But there are numerous reports that we can still see ads in Facebook, Google and Twitter so I don't know if they are doing it properly or not doing it at all.

Well they are quick to ban fake profiles though, but you need to report them so appropriate actions can be taken. And Vitalik has every right to be mad to them because crypto has turned out to be a circus lately specially in the frenzy of December and there are still scammers out there targeting unsuspecting victims using not only Vitalik's name but other well known personality in the crypto sphere.
8183  Economy / Speculation / Re: April fools day fact: The market keep bleeding hard on: April 01, 2018, 12:07:04 PM
Blood of the market doesn't seem to stop bleeding today, BTC is at $69xx , ETH $3xx. Market cap $263M+ Where does the money go? and When will it be back? Probably to have a "moon" days the market need to bleed more. Everyone be cool!  Cool

And it continues to bleed as marketcap is down to $252 million and Vol. 24h: $9 million. For me there's nothing that we can really do from this continuing slump and looks like April is no different from previous month as it can't stop the murder that we are going through. Well, yes, it really need to bottom before seeing tremendous gains in the future. But most of us can't take this bleeding, decided to push the sell bottom and get out and cut our losses.

Last week when I heard that 31st March will finish the Fiscal Year of some countries and everyone was expecting the market will start going uptrend but the market seems always go against their expectations lol

You should know by now how this market really operates, when everyone is expecting something, the opposite happens. I don't know about the end of Fiscal Year effect to the market, but I can assure that we can't really go this for a long time. The bears have been taking over this market for quiet a long time but I still see the bulls and the herds around the corner waiting for the perfect time to run. We shall see.
8184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Big gains come with big losses on: April 01, 2018, 11:45:18 AM
To everyone complaining about the current situation crypto is in or questioning why its happening you need to keep in mind that if something triples in price in a relatively short period of time, it can crash just as hard in the same period of time.  I remember when eth had its climb up $1400 people were ecstatic and they thought that we were never gonna see sub $1k eth again when just a few months ago eth was just $300.  This greed brought on by the price influxes is blinding people from the reality that crypto prices cant keep going up forever.

This is really what investing in crypto really brings. Look at just how those newbies who really thought that we can go on a parabolic rise forever, they bought even the price is too steep at almost $20K. It was good times I have to admit, but the irrational buyers thinks otherwise. I see the price increasing like $1K or more everyday and I say to myself that something is not right and in the end it eventually crashes, together with some of those newbies dream of getting a lot of money out of this market. Yeah this crashes bring back some senses to most of us experience traders and newbies a expensive and hard lesson to learn.

First, everyone should understand that this is still a speculative market so its either you stick your with your plan on having a entry/exit, so you will not be burned at the end. Greed is far the number enemy of every trader here, if you don't know what to manage, it will be the cause of your downfall just like we are witnessing in the last 3 months. Those irrational buyers get out the minute the price goes on a correction and just decided to cut their losses by selling early.
8185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SPRING AFTER THE WINTER on: April 01, 2018, 07:52:09 AM
Big time investors like Warren Buffet, treats bear market as an OPPORTUNITY. They buy while the market is in its very low value, equipping themselves for the future.
HODL my brothers, winter is here.

these two are contradictory!
taking advantage of a bear market and seeing it as an opportunity means you either continuously short bitcoin while it is dropping or you do pull out at the start of the market (not near the end obviously) and then wait for the bottom to buy as much bitcoin as you can.
HODL means missing opportunities that this market is now offering you.

HODL is only for those who don't want to trade or at times when you can't predict the market.

But that's not the point. Either HOLD or trade. It is your choice. But panic selling is not good. Withdrawing your funds because of what your emotions are telling you is not good. You must remain calm and be unshakeable. Don't be carried away by the pundit's news about bitcoin. Smiley

But the problem is that there are a lot of newbies in the ecosystem who joined specially during the December peak. So they are all enthusiastic and saying that bitcoin will go to the moon specially when institutional investors CBoE and CME started offering bitcoin future contracts. Sadly though those who FOMO got easily burned the following months. And even if we call them not to panic, they get out cut their losses by selling because they are carried away by FUD, but who can blame them?

And yeah, as this market situation, there's only 2 choices for us, either to HODL forgot about the price and came back after six month or at the end of the year, or trade and take advantage of the wild price swing and take margin (even small) of profits. Personally, it you want no headaches you might as well bought in dip and stack more bitcoin and let it just sit in your hardware wallet for as long as you can.
8186  Economy / Economics / Re: THE BULLSHIT EU'S PRIVACY LAW on: April 01, 2018, 06:30:39 AM
I've read a new EU law about privacy right. Accordingly, all companies and organisations including blockchain projects that store users' information data must comply stringent data privacy rules
Moreover, these rules are not only applied to EU-based organisations but also all over the globe organisation which service accessed by EU citizens and residents.

Even before the advent of bitcoin/blockchain/crypto. EU has been gathering like all databases of their citizens for profiling because of the advent of global terrorism. And as we all know, EU has been the main target of extremist that's why EU has been very aggressive in the beginning of century to get as much information as they can specially those who are coming into their shores.

These law may be causes some disadvantages to blockchain organisations like some exchanges in Japan or Binance in China might delay their operation movement plan to EU, but

In my opinion, this law is very bullshit, because of those reasons
- It totally conflict to the blockchain core feature. For example, the law says that users can revise and delete their data if necessary. But in blockchain, demolishing a block after it has been built is mostly impossible. One more, the lay operators can impose fines on those company that locates outside of the EU. How it possible? Blockchain is a widely global network of node, how you fine me when I'm running a project in Asian or Carribean?
- This law totally exhorts to the centralized data storing companies like Facebook or Google, where they can easily collect and control users' data, and abuse it for their profit in a "reasonable" way.

Give me your opinion on this, do you support these rules or not?

Of course this is total contradictory to crypto because we all know that most of them are decentralized and we even have privacy coins. And that is why I really don't think the most UE countries will be friendly to us. You can also see that Binance for example has already move to Malta as they might expect pressure from Japan to share information of their user based. But there will always be two sides in a story here and I doubt that what they are pushing (France / Germany)for a "universal regulations" will not be approved by G20 in July.
8187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cebu Philippines has many bitcoin investors already. on: April 01, 2018, 05:52:57 AM
I have read a facebook page regarding to bitcoin community in cebu. This is in relation to where bitcoin has already establish here in cebu Philippines and maybe some of the bitcoin lovers may launch a bitcoin accessories, clothing and other related bitcoin merchandizing. Thus in the facebook page has stated that bitcoin has already benefited them and that they are planning also to have a tangible investment. In line with their plans about bitcoin accessories investment then it comes to my mind that is bitcoin really that widespread or known here in cebu? I never thought about it but as i have seen the facebook page it is already a proof that cebu has already eatablished bitcoin. How about in your place? had bitcoin established also like here in cebu?

Isn't it the Philippines is one of the crypto friendlies in Asia? So I wouldn't be surprise if one of their main city is already into bitcoin. And judging by how many Filipinos are in this community alone will say so much about the Filipinos are slowly adopting cryptocurrency. So should have at least link us the Facebook page here so that we can see what they are offering (accessories, tshirts etc).

As far as investment is concern, of course we all can put our money into crypto and realized our dreams (specially for Flips) to become millionaires. And Yes, I will consider this a welcoming news indeed and hope that other countries will be friendly as well.
8188  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-29] Spanish Police Arrested Hacker Who Stole $1 Billion Using Cryptocur on: March 30, 2018, 08:32:23 PM
Hope this is not an attempt by the media to link cryptocurrency to criminal activities? The financial institutions should be receiving the blame for not having security measures in place for their systems to prevent hacking of customers' accounts.

Meanwhile, good job to the Spanish police!

You can stop hoping now. They will turn this into another argument of why crypto should be banned. Those are the same cretins that walk around cities screaming that guns kill people. I'm fine with the hackers being caught, but we can't deny them ingenuity. They are the best testers of security systems out there and the fact that they were able to keep stealing money from the banks only shows how vulnerable their system was. Sooner or later somebody would abuse the flaw anyway. Those guys should get employed and made to improve the security instead of being prosecuted.

I agree. Media will connotate crypto with criminals. Just look at how this article, this has nothing to do with crypto, those hackers attacks the financial systems and just converted it to cryptocurrency.

So this sort of news will really put cryptocurrency in another bad light which may add negative things to the already volatile network.

And it says that cryptocurrency helps them cover their track. How can those criminals get caught when the authorities were able to arrest them?
8189  Economy / Economics / Re: government and crypto collide on: March 30, 2018, 01:49:43 AM
What is the possibility effect of this in both side
Are this  a good thing to happened
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-12/why-governments-might-join-the-cryptocurrency-craze-quicktake

Quote
1. Who is pushing the idea?

Venezuela’s president, Nicolas Maduro, is pitching a proposed virtual currency he calls the Petro, each unit of which would be backed by one barrel of oil. According to Maduro, the country received $5 billion in purchase offers in the first week of presale in February.

Maduro is pushing petro to get away with the US led sanctions against them. Well, he says they raised tons of money, but I don't believed that is the case.

Quote
2. Which other countries are considering cryptocurrencies?

Russia’s central bank plans to talk to countries including Brazil, China, India and the five former Soviet republics about creating a supra-cryptocurrency that could cover countries with 40 percent of the world’s population. People’s Bank of China Deputy Governor Fan Yifei wrote an article broaching the possibility of a digital currency it would issue with Chinese commercial institutions.

Again, this is totally wrong. Russia has no plans to adopt crypto currency. They already have cryptorubles which they created to satisfy Russian's population appetite for crypto. But I don't think it will be enough to swayed them.

I won't go into details because there is a lot of contradictions, flawed argument on this article. Short term, government going against crypto is bad for us. Long term effect, crypto is unstoppable not even Russia or China can stop this revolution.
8190  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: www.cryptocoon.io - New way to Invest Cryptocurrency!? on: March 30, 2018, 01:06:18 AM
Nah, I wouldn't put even a single satoshi as investment dude. Most likely this is just a Ponzi or HYIP as others have pointed out so better be careful as that's how they usually operated at the beginning. They will give you some returns initially, so you will be encourage to put more, but you are already suckered and the last thing you know they run out with you and other investors money.

I can't even find a legit review on the website and its seems that it is somewhat protected or restricted as I can't find anything on the registration or even the address and name associated with www.cryptocoon.io.

So my verdict is just to stay away.
8191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It To Late For Me To Buying Bitcoin? on: March 30, 2018, 12:42:02 AM
If you really thinks that bitcoin will go on a massive pump later, then you should be happy because the price is at a discount right now. Go buy and purchase as many as you can and just Hodl on it.

So I guess there's no such thing as being late in their party because it offer us a opportunity to join when the price is very cheap. Many have bailed out already, but its we are not that late to join the party today and enjoy later.

Don't listen to people with their doomsday scenario, we may be down but we are far away from being out.

8194  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-24] Quebec Pushes Hydropower Utility to Halt New Bitcoin Mines on: March 26, 2018, 12:45:57 AM
After green started screaming about the fact that energy production is killing the nature, the governments of many countries ceased to develop power. I think I now need to reconsider this decision. I do not believe green. It seems to me that they are hired to destroy competitors. I hope that Canada will not fight with the miners.

No, as what has @darkangel11 has said, the demand was to high for Quebec that why they have to push miners because Quebec can't cope with the demands from bitcoin miners. So it only makes sense for them to halt them.

What the miners can't do is just shift to other nations with abundance of electricity and very cheap. So at least all mining farms not are evenly divided across the globe as opposed to China having a complete monopoly.
8195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin so down on: March 26, 2018, 12:08:09 AM
Why Bitcoin came so low in 2018 january to march
All the guess people were saying that Bitcoin would touch 25k$ but why did not it happen ?

Well there was one good argument that the Mt. Gox trustee started to offload the bitcoins starting from Dec-Mar which may have put a dent on the price. Coincidentally, its only the time that it seems we can't really take off from the ground, when everything seems to be ripe for a bull run, this guys dump, causing the market to crash several times.

And not with the government and central banks attacks, plus lots of FUD, we are struggling to keep above $8K now, so that $25K will be just a dream. But its just the start of another quarter so don't be frustrated, it will eventually come and we might see bitcoin attempts another all-time-high before the end of the year.
8196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin future on: March 25, 2018, 10:41:09 PM
I think bitcoin prices will increase in the next few years, if seen from every year until early 2018, bitcoin prices continue to rise, but at this moment I'm so confused why bitcoin prices even tend to go down.

I guess you really need to do you homework and go around the forum and look as to why the price is going south.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin will be the currency of future. Transactions of Bitcoin are increasing rapidly. It will turn into human resources in the future. Bitcoin also has a number of benefits that government-issued and government-backed currencies simply cannot offer. Many people are worried about the future of traditional currencies. Many people see Bitcoin as a natural hedge against the risk of traditional currencies, as well as a valuable safe haven should a crisis occur.

I don't know what you do mean by bitcoin will be the currency of the future. Well obviously the future looks bright because we have been in the defense from a lot of attacks from different nation across the globe which means that they doesn't want this 'disruptive technology' to take off. However, bitcoin is unstoppable and within the next 5 years, we may see the price ranging from $50K-$100K or even more.
8197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the governments ban all privacy cryptocurrencies ? on: March 25, 2018, 10:20:24 PM
I'm considering to buy and hold some privacy coins for long term. I read some articles and they said governments are taking harsh stances on privacy coins. Do you think they will ban all privacy cryptocurrencies by prohibiting exchanges to list those coins?

Good question. Right now it still hasn't attracted that much attention from the government because they are busy attacking bitcoin but I'm sure that it is already in their radar. But I'm sure that when privacy coins grow exponentially in the next 5 years, I'm sure that the government will target it because we all know what privacy coins is, to hide everything from the prying eyes of everyone including governments.

So I wouldn't be surprise will go after Monero or Zcash or any other privacy coins in the future. I don't know what steps they gonna take, but I'm sure it's more harsher than bitcoin, probably a ban, but I don't know if they can go as further as prohibiting exchanges. Its a free market, they might as well close those exchanges instead of prohibition, and it will be difficult for them to make them comply specially DEX.
8198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: London Stock Exchange fighting against Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency on: March 25, 2018, 09:40:22 PM
Hello,

I work for a company associated with the London Stock Exchange and I thought to share this information with you.

Recently during a ceremony, one of the officials announced that they will do everything possible to stop people from investing in CryptoCurrencies. Not just the London Stock Exchange, but other major stock exchanges are threatened. They are worried people are not investing in the stock market and are moving towards cryptocurrencies. Therefore they said that they will take measures to drive people away by emphasizing different risks associated with cryptocurrencies.

I was wondering if these big companies could actually pose a risk to the future of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? Do they have enough power?

Short term, yes, this, Long term I doubt that can pose a risk. Of course they have the power, however, it will not be enough to stop bitcoin and crypto currency. What they can do is put a reminding to people, however, do you think that they will heed their call? I don't think so.

This is a free market and everyone in stocks or crypto is in for the profit, how can you stop guys in making more money? I'm seeing that the more they try to stop people from investing, the more it will generate enough buzz and curiosity that will resulted in more people pouring cash into the ecosystem.
8199  Economy / Speculation / Re: The future price of bitcoin? on: March 25, 2018, 09:20:04 PM
Well , I can not agree that the price of bitcoin for the future will be known by anyone. What we just do is assumption because last year, no body expected price to surge the way it did the last few weeks to the end of last year. The price is expected to go higher than $10,000 certainly.

Right. Nobody was expecting bitcoin to reach almost $20K, but it did. We speculate that it could go as high as $5K only. While this year, we started at the wrong foot and it seems that we can't get anything going and the price keeps going down from $13K to as low as $5500.

But I'm still expecting that at least we can still finished this year in the 5 figures. There could be a lot of things that could happen along the way. So expect the unexpected. So if we really wanted to profit, we can go and purchase today and see how it goes before the end of the year.
8200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 25, 2018, 03:55:12 PM
Does somebody know if Antetokounmpo will play tonight or no? Either way, I don't think they will have any problems against unmotivated Bulls who will most likely be tanking for the rest of season.
Funny thing I was just looking at the Bulls last 10 games and they haven't won too many games.
They the worst team there is right now with only beating Memphis twice and that team has only 11 wins this season.
The Bulls definitely need to do something in the offseason or hope they get a good draft pick so they can have another Jordan like player again to bring it all back to Chicago. Because right now they are the joke of the league.

Yeah, you are right. It's sad to see one of the biggest franchises in the history of NBA. Btw, how do you comment Grizlies who lost by 61 points to Hornets who btw don't have chance to win Play-off spot??? Just LOL

They are on a rebuilding stage and eventually they can find a good players that would help the bulls to become a threat again.
Every team has their time, look at the Sixers, they are consistent to be non performing for many seasons but now they are already battling
in the coming playoffs, and not only that, they have become a threat on the way they played now.
Bulls produce the best basketball player of all time, not sure what happen to this franchise after trying to be a competitive team with Drose before,
can't see the reason why they can't find good selections of players, or they are just not the same management before who can really scout players
and knows how to build up the players together with the coaching staff.

Well its very competitive out there, not only the players side, but in the back or front office as well. The management really needs to find the perfect team before achieving championship level and it seems they are still looking for it.

Look at how Golden State did, they advanced to their first NBA finals since 1975 in 2014-2015 season. So it like 40 fucking years before getting the correct pieces together. Hiring Kerr and then making Steph Curry that player that he is today.
