8221  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-18] Tokyo Whale Stopped Selling; Will Bitcoin Price Increase? on: March 18, 2018, 07:07:49 PM
I don't think that he can be categorizes as whales, yes, he offload huge amount of bitcoin, but technically its not his. He is just a trustee. Anyway, I agree that he is one contributing factor to the downfall of the price, but its already late when we really learn what the reason why the price keeps falling after we have rode the bulls last December.

He is just too stupid not to understand the consequences before I personally believed that the is aware of his action. Unfortunately, We all have seen the effects of his action, PANIC.

And now we are into deep waters again, price at $75xx, and who knows what's the current price if he didn't do such stupid acts. We may be still at the 5 digits figures by today and bullish sentiments still remains.
8222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I’m out on: March 18, 2018, 06:37:38 PM
I had a blood clot on my brain in late January and stroked out.By the time I got out of hospitals rehab a month later I’m seeing 85% losses, with no end in site. I can’t ride this rollercoaster any lower. I’ll be happy to escape with some profits now rather than ending up underwater. Good luck to all.

Ok. If you are really telling that truth then I would understand where you are coming from. Its really hard to take a huge loss so everyone is getting out and are happy to escape with some profits.

But almost everyone in here is for the long haul. Yeah, no one can predict the market price, but we know that bitcoin is resilient can bounce back any time, so stay tuned. I suggest you go back when everything is back to normal. But I guess you won't maximize your profits because you decided to quit. Goodluck though.

Really time tough times ahead, weak hands are getting out, while strong hands like what they are seeing. Another perfect time to buy in this dips and accumulate more bitcoin.
8223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin?? on: March 18, 2018, 01:14:40 AM
bitcoin is best in my opinion. because bitcoin is the pioneer of crypto currency. but altcoin is also very good. because it helps in growing crypto currency. in my opinion, if there is no altcoin, bitcoin will not be expensive like this.

Wait, being the pioneer doesn't always equate for a good return. There are other alts that took off specially last year that gives good return, more than bitcoin's astronomical growth.

But if given the chance, I will go for both, as hedge against each other. Although the market is on a bearish trend and continue to bleed, I'm fairly positive that we can see significant increase before the end of the year.

And this is a good time to invest because both market are in red and the prices is very very cheap. So to me, both bitcoin and altcoin are good invested specially for long term.
8224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When can I expect my coins to recover? Feeling very depressed... on: March 18, 2018, 12:41:10 AM
Sorry to say this but the market isn't showing any signs of uptrend as of now. We might end up in a year long bear market just like in 2014 (I hope I'm wrong). You have to be prepared for the worst possible scenario else you would end up in depression. That's all!

There are some signs that 2014 can repeat. I hope not - but it might be possible.

I will keep buying smaller projects during this period and trust in a market recovery.

Yeah, I see that we are going into another 2014 bearish trend at this is already the 3rd of the month and we are not seeing gains but instead a total collapse. But I still have my full trust that we can bounce back from all the negative sentiments in the air.

So far its continue to slides and bitcoin is below $8K and Ethereum slashed more than half from its all-time-high. And then there is the G20 next week that will make or break us.

Its gonna be tough this year with all the regulations, but I'm still confident that at the end of the year, we can reach all-time-highs. Patience, patience, patience is all we need.
8225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain as a revolutionary technology? on: March 17, 2018, 11:57:31 PM
Hi guys, have you ever thought about blockchain? If it is really revolutionary technology? I am reading many pessimistic opinions and articles, that it is not good technology. For example speed and massive adoption, we see this problem in Bitcoin blockchain and the transactions on blockchain, because it is the oldest one and there are the biggest number of transaction stored in blockchain, will this happen to every altcoins in the future? Will the Lightining network solve this problem? Why the Lightning network is not fully released - thanks to the miners - they want bigger rewards or? And what about mining - what will happen if we invent a quantum computer? Could we really trust in decentralized anonymous transactions in today's world?

Looking for your replies.

It looks like you have 2 sets of question. As far as LN goes, I suggest you read its whitepaper.

https://lightning.network/lightning-network-paper.pdf

As for blockchain, yes its a new technology that has a lot of uses not only bitcoin but other industries as well, specially in the banking industry. Ironic though that banks keeps on attacking bitcoin, but adopting the underlying technology behind it.

Blockchain can record all transactions, and its very difficult to alter the data, unlike data which a database admin can make updates on the records. So that's one big advantage of bitcoin. Another that I'm seeing is that it can really reduced the cost of transaction and data can be used immediately. Imagine a one bank and it needed another information from another branch. And through this technology the one needing the data can get it immediately by just looking at the records in the blockchain.
8226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is deep over or it is just the beginning of the end? on: March 17, 2018, 11:09:00 PM
I wonder if the deep is over or it is just the beginning of the end?  The tensions and regulatory concerns over the crypto is growing and only God knows what will be the agreements during G20 Summit. Probably the shake ups are inevitable right after the Summit. However, the the deepest spot could be? 6K-3K?

I don't think that the dip is over, right now bitcoin's price just went below $8K, but immediately regain. But we are not out of the woods. Yes, its gonna be a make or break for us, specially the agreement in G20 this coming Monday. I think this want contributes to the current downtrend.

But I don't know if we are going as low as $3K. The last bottom we got is $58xx-$6K. I think if the G20 doesn't went on our favor, I'm expecting the price go south at around $6K before we can see another bounce because I'm sure that those who have waited to will purchase around that price.
8227  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: MrGox Trustee Sells more $700 Milion Today ( Bitcoin goes down again ) on: March 17, 2018, 09:56:37 PM
the act of selling $700,000,000 in bitcoin may not be enough to directly affect the market, but its the FUD that is a threat to the Bitcoin market.
As soon as the trustee hodlings are sold off we can move on and it will be one less thing for people to be spooked about.

I think it may have contributed to the downfall in the price of bitcoin and then it causes panic making a domino effect. We all know that we are very sensitive to anything negative news or FUD, that's why panic selling follows.

However, this last few days as we found out who doing this dumping, I'm sure that everyone is all aware of his actions. There are even website's that track the movements of the coins.

The trustee has still a lot of bitcoin's left, but I'm sure that he can't just offload it without any court order now. Its impossible to go back to the way things were before it happened, but this is just another bumps and I hope that we can overcome all this challenges and see bitcoin recover again.
8228  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-17] Philippines Senator Calls for Applying a Get-Tough Approach to Cryp on: March 17, 2018, 08:55:02 PM
I don't know but it sounds to me like they are going to be the next country to out right put a ban on all crypto currency.
Just like Indonesia did early in the year.
They just don't know how to handle it so they just ban what they can not control. Roll Eyes

You are absolutely wrong in your assumptions here.

First, Philippines is very crypto friendly, they have their local exchanges and they are planning to have more in the future.

Second, what the Senator is calling is just to like what other nation is calling, putting a regulations so that crypto will not be taken advantage of the criminals.

Third, many Flips, works outside of the country, and they are not using crypto as medium for sending remittances to the families back home.

And did you know that the one calling for harsher penalty in crypto because it is taken advantage of the criminals is behind bar? Yes, Senator de Lima, was charge with getting bribe money from drug syndicate? Isn't it ironic?
8229  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about this? on: March 16, 2018, 11:37:17 PM
Bitcoin collapsed down by as much as $ 1000 per hour and a similar reaction for the other altcoyins followed. What are the reasons for this is not yet known. Most likely the general unfavorable news flow.
Applying sanctions to several crypto-exchange exchanges in Japan (until closing).

This is normal, if you were not expecting this after that bitcoin came from $6000 to more than $19,990 in just a few days, then the best thing that you need to do is uninstall your browser.

Came on, this is not normal! In which world were you expecting to see huge rises in just a few months?

Because most of them really thinks that bitcoin will continue it meteoric rise but quickly frustrated when it all crushing down on them. I agree that its so frustrating to see the price going below 5 figures, but we need to understand that there are only 2 ways: GO UP and GO DOWN.

And its really up to you, on how to react on those circumstances, if you panic and want to get out because the price is going down so SELL.

But in the likelihood that you want to hold because you know that bitcoin is resilient and will increase specially at the end of the year then HOLD.

There is no secret. And it a matter of choice. Choose what's best for you.
8230  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Aida Service] - Bounty Scammers + linked accounts on: March 16, 2018, 10:23:51 PM
Wow this is a very impressive find you got. I must say that Aida managers are really very strict. I was part of the original bitcoin paying campaigns that's why I know how they ran everything.

Sadly though after the bitcoin signature concluded, I didn't chose to continue into the bounty.

I hope that DT members could tag everyone who cheats in this bounty so that they can't apply to any more campaigns. Good job.
8231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RED EVERY WHERE. on: March 16, 2018, 09:14:13 PM
It seems like cryptocurrencies are particularly volatile right now, and even the smallest hint of negative news can send the market into the red again. It might be a good idea to pause trading for now until some more stability is attained.

But at least we can breath a sigh of relief because it looks like we are slowly bouncing and recovering from most of the weeks downtrend. Almost all major coins has gains today. So lets take a breather and see how it goes this weekends as usually more dumping happen during that time.

But I have to disagree that we need to pause trading because the market is volatile. On the contrary, this is a good way to make a profit because you can take advantage of it. You can buy them at cheap price and can easy sell it with at least 10-20% margin of profit.
8232  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-13] Scammers Impersonating Tax Officers in Australia are Demanding BTC on: March 15, 2018, 11:42:36 PM
It's becoming a joke the lengths these people go too

I agree. I mean up to what extent are scammers willing to go to just to fool people for their sole gain? Scammers can really be creative and mischievous. Situations like this just goes to show that they can be whoever they want and gain the credibility they need at an instant just to extort Bitcoin from people. This is why people should be extra careful and vigilant with transacting with other people, may it involve ones bitcoin or other things that has great value. The only thing that can protect us from people like this is if we raise our awareness towards act like this. Before you engage with others, make sure they have sincere intentions and are not scammers.

Scammers may get desperate enough to the point wherein they would go to extreme extents just so that they could get what they want. It may be seem funny that people get victimized of the crazy schemes they come up with but it's the sad reality. These scammers are very resourceful and are able to come up with absurd ways to fool people. They are skillful enough to make it seem like they are legitimate people with a front. It's hard to combat this but we must be cautious all the time. There are many telltale red flags we could look out for so that we may avoid these.

I agree. I really don't like to call them scammers, but criminals. They are really a cancer to the society. They are people who lives to fool and scam others for the sake of their survival. How you gonna call such people? So everyone needs to be cautious here as they criminals are freely roaming looking for the next unsuspecting victims.

They used the talents that God has given them to exploit others. Yeah we should raise awareness and I think its a good moved from the Australian authorities to warn its people because they already embraced bitcoin. Gonna be a cat and mouse game between the police and the criminals. Although it seems that they are always one step ahead, I'm the authorities will catch up with them.
8233  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin price change? on: March 15, 2018, 10:48:42 PM
I know im probably missing something but im wondering if bitcoin price should even increase, or any price really, because when someone buys bitcoin it creates demand so price increases if im correct but when the person is buying isnt someone else selling? shouldnt this decrease the price so now the price is back to its base? This has me really confused and i have thought about it for a few days and couldnt come up with an answer, someone please tell me the answer.

It falls on this 3 categories:

1. More buyers means more demand = the price goes up
2. More sellers, less buyers = the price goes down
3. Less buyers, means less demand = the price goes down

So basically that's how the market works, so its law of supply and demand. Go and look for basic law of economics and try to understand it. I'm in the same boat with you man, I didn't quite understand at the beginning. But through constant reading and going around the forum, I was pointed to the right direction.
8234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google prohibits advertising Bitcoin. What will happen to Bitcoin? on: March 15, 2018, 10:18:22 PM
And do you see anything bad here? Btw will yahoo, bing and ask.com follow them?
On another hand, there are many scam crypto websites, ICOs, wallets and etc. There was a lot of reports on mixers and etc.
So it worths for google to prohibit advertising of any crypto project and it's absolutely fair decision.
And your question is useless, it won't do any negative impact.

Exactly, I don't know what's the big fuss all about? Yes, it might have a small dent on the price, but we all know that its also have short term effect.

I also think that its really a good move on their part. Why? so that those scammers will have one less way to promote their scams on the web.

I think banning cryptocurrencies anywhere like countries and websites are sometimes a good sign of improvement. The fact that they are concern and giving attention to such technology that may have a large impact to many must be reviewed first and i think that's whats happening today. Though this may be an FUD, I do hope that people see this in a different perspective and not just a reason to leave. Everything will come to their quality in the near future and everything could be strongly trusted by that time.

At least we can see some legitimacy if we can curb those scammers. Its really bring bad name to crypto so we better rid of this scammers so that crypto will get some semblance of trust from investors all over the world.
8235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will the market recover? on: March 14, 2018, 08:12:39 PM
All we can really do is to HOPE. Its been a bad start for all of us after enjoying all-time-high in December and I'm expecting that by this time, we are at least at the $12K mark. Sadly though, its been really rough and no one can tell for certain when are we going to recover or somewhat stabilizes.

Yes, what we can do is to HODL and just have the patience and wait it out till everything settles down and have a clear picture as what has been happening in the market. We don't need to be emotional, otherwise, we will just think of selling off and move our assets somewhere else. I still have my trust and believe that in the long run, we will make a recovery and bounce back from all the negative things around.
8236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone waiting for BTC price went down under $7,000? on: March 14, 2018, 07:23:49 PM
People are very cautious investing in Cryptocoins. I know some people are waiting for BTC price drops under $7,000 for them to invest in BTC. Are you also waiting for this moment?

Of course even major price correction is a perfect time to buy. Right now we are sinking and trading at around $8300. But if my memory serves me right, the last dip we see is around $5.5 - $6K, so its possible that we can go as low as $7K but we need to look at how the resistance at $8K will hold.

If it hold then for sure we are not going to as low $7K, so I would advise you to buy at the current price because for me its already cheap. You don't need to wait till the price goes to your expectation, otherwise if it didn't went your way, you already lose your chance to profit at the end.
8237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expectations that many expected in 2018 on: March 14, 2018, 07:07:42 PM
do you agree, if the future of bitcoin is determined from current performance? I do not panic, I just expect the best as you hope right too.
2018 to the moon and repeats a brilliant history like the year 2017.

Well if we are going to based it in the last three years, bitcoin is somewhat dormant in the first quarter of the year and then pick up around June and goes to all-time-highs every month then.

So with that said, Its safe to assume that we can repeat another great performance this year as well. But don't expect that the growth we see last year can be replicated again. The situation has change, there's a lot of regulations going on. But definitely another great year. I'm seeing we can double the last previous high, so maybe around $40K this year.
8238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin correction? on: March 11, 2018, 11:05:36 PM
Hey bitcointalk, i want to ask proffesional players in cryptocurrency world opinion about bitcoin correction, is it going at least to 4k$?

So far the last floor price we have witnessed in $5K-$6K. And a lot have been saying that we will not go down the deep but bitcoin tested in however it bounce back immediately and we almost went as high as $12K.

So I saying that we can possible hit $4K but the thing is that its a good opportunity to invest bought more bitcoins. So its gonna be just a quick test and then enjoy around good recovery.

But most likely we aren't going on that level. Right now we are green and almost all the top ten altcoin as well. Its just that there are someone dumping bitcoin at this moment (Mt. Gox trustee) causing all this turmoil and putting to much pressure on the price.
8239  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-08] $800 in 1 Hour: Bitcoin Price Drops Big to Near $9K on: March 11, 2018, 12:27:42 PM
So the justification for the drop in the last few minutes are just old news? I do not think that's enough. Moreover, they only pose as if the whole market were irrational. The truth is we need good news, very good news. And many people wait for some kind of security. The siege of the money launderer is closing, it is no longer as simple as it once was. Governments are investigating and creating laws. Mostly bad laws.

But these sudden drops in a matter of minutes are always related to some specific news. That most of people only come to know a few hours later. And often, they are stupid things that do not justify the fall and soon the price rises.

if something depends on news and news only, then it is not right
although I would agree with the statement about predominantly bad news at the moment
but what bitcoin really needs is not "good" news but to have more consensus
including things like Segwit,LN among others

But since we are in a speculative market, every publicity (good or bad) really affect how the price move. However, we investors need not panic and do our homework to really understand what's goin on. Specially about the bitcoin supposed hack, which technically its not. And then the Mt. Gox trustee dumping really want cause this market to fall under the $9K price again.

This sudden drops for me looks like a clear panic selling of those who really don't understand and just decided to push the sell button. I'm sure that most of those are newbies, really hard lesson for them to learn. They should have at least hold, anyways, let wait it out and see how the price for this week moves when everything has settled down.
8240  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beyond bitcoin on: March 11, 2018, 11:58:27 AM
The encryption monetary fund founder and virtual currency veteran investor George dong said, while the currency is still maintained a bull trend, but in other virtual currencies there are still a lot of opportunities, some of them even unknown.

George dong says there must be a cryptocurrency in the next three to five years that can outperform bitcoin.

The market value and price of cryptocurrency have also changed dramatically with the increasing number of cryptocurrency participants.

Which currency do you think will surpass bitcoin in the future?

There are a lot of coins that already outperformed bitcoin as far as ROI. But why bitcoin still the dominant coins? Its because it has already gain the full trust of investors.

So I believed that there's no coin that can overtake bitcoin, not Ethereum or Ripple.

But there will be probably another coin in the next 5 -10 years that will come and take the crown, but I don't think that bitcoin will give up the throne. And what do you think the features that will really beat bitcoin in the future though? Care to share your thoughts?
