I'm calling it. The Bitinstant development is going viral, it's absolutely huge. I think price will react sooner or later.
We need some major press to catch on to it...

"Buying Bitcoins Now as Easy as Taking a Trip to Your Local WalMart"

I was just wondering where the press release was...

Its hard to argue with this...

Im on board with the idea that gold is going below the 2011 low (~$1523)  ... Im just not sure it will stay there very long.
743  Economy / Speculation / Who else is bored? on: May 22, 2012, 07:54:35 PM
We have had very low volitility for the last 3 months or so... anyone else getting so bored that you are starting to not watch the charts every single day?

I havent made a trade in weeks... Embarrassed Cheesy

Now, on with the show.

Would you consider producing a Bitcoin Savings & Trust branded rum? I think the two would complement each other quite nicely and plenty on these forums would buy it for the novelty value.

Not sure if this was a joke or not... and I haven't read the whole thread yet...

BUT DO THIS!

S3052, could you please post some of your reasoning for your $13 dollar target for silver?
746  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: May 21, 2012, 06:38:01 PM
Double up on that bottom yo!!

That looks much more like a top than it looks like a double bottom to me...

This is just a bounce off of SMA(20,1,w) or you could attribute it to all the retail investors who had to cash out some AAPL to buy FB, now cashing out of FailBook and going back into AAPL
747  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - Verified rolls, up to 64,000x winning on: May 21, 2012, 02:55:06 PM
So I tried this out today. I bet, won, and got half my stake back. WTF!? Angry

http://satoshidice.com/full.php?tx=c32408f4fd9b54722d44ceb030e8439ef015730e8bcddcf9396d396e6399f7c6

Bet Amount: 0.00100000
Win multiplier: 1.009
TX Fee: 0.0005
Final amount: 0.000509

And then there is the tx fee you paid to send the bet.

We really need to raise the min bet.  With the transaction fees they don't make much sense for anyone.

The really low min bet does serve as a nice testing method for the site though.  Perhaps it would be best to raise the min bets on all your existing addresses and create a new address specifically for these types of low value test transactions.

FANTASTIC updates today! Keep the good info flowing Cheesy
749  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - Verified rolls, up to 65,000x winning on: May 19, 2012, 12:00:36 AM

I'm pleased to announce that the Satoshidice backend processing has been upgraded to a new system that uses a distributed transaction database stored on Amazon DynamoDB.  It is thus far faster and importantly should be much more stable and less prone to inconsistencies taking down the system for hours at a time.

I have some further work to do.  The next step is to have a few peer nodes that do nothing but pick up broadcast transactions and put them in the database.  This will make the system quicker and more reliable in how it picks up pending bets.

It does occasionaly hold back a bet for ~15 minutes but most of the bets I have placed today have come back in ~ 20 seconds

Great job, keep up the good work!
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Emergency ANN] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: May 18, 2012, 11:50:42 AM
Not being personally involved in this debacle and just sitting on the sidelines watching the train wreck unfold I have to say it's just magnificent to watch a market being regulated strictly by market consumers(i.e. a free market) doing it's work. There's not a chance in the world any crony government agency would ever be this vicious in justifiably criticizing a business and it's practices.  Cool

Yup, and every BTC business will either learn and improve, or they will die... isn't it great!  Grin
751  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Dice on: May 17, 2012, 04:40:44 PM
This is the best way to gamble ever.  It is like having a dollar in your hand and being able to double it or lose it repeatedly.  There are no other ways to gamble I can think of that don't require making an account or visiting a gambling location.

+1  SatoshiDice has a good shot at being Bitcoin's first killer app.
752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain.info generated address are invalid on: May 16, 2012, 12:32:45 PM
I just tried that C&P from myself's post & it worked fine from Gox - I see no space or anything like in your example

Maybe Gox is striping the character.

If I double click to select the address in myself's post only part of the address is selected e.g.

But If I double click the address in your sig the whole address is selected. Somewhere along the lines an invalid character got inserted.

This solved the issue for me.  I was able to send coins using the address you removed the illegal char from.  Thanks!
753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: blockchain.info generated address are invalid on: May 16, 2012, 11:59:40 AM
This is one of the addresses I am unable to send to.  I initially thought the problem was on my end but now I dont know...

754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unable to send coins on: May 16, 2012, 12:53:34 AM
Try sending a small amount (like .0001) to a different address, I vaguely recall reading that you can't send to an invalid address.

I was able to send a .01 coin bet to satoshi dice from my new client... still not able to send to my friends.  2 different people have given me addresses from their wallets and addresses from their mt gox account... they are using 0.6.2 and a blockchain.info wallet... this is weird.
755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unable to send coins on: May 16, 2012, 12:10:23 AM
Are you typing in your encryption password?

Are you cut and pasting the send to address?  Does it have a leading or trailing space in the cut and paste? (If so, elminate any spaces)

I dont have an encryption password, I dont think.  Yes I am cut and pasting, there are no spaces.

Sidenote: Its a really bad feeling when the transaction doesnt send and I dont even get an error message...
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unable to send coins on: May 15, 2012, 11:09:20 PM
The address field turns red.  I get no error message.  The coins dont leave my wallet.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Unable to send coins on: May 15, 2012, 08:29:25 PM
I recently upgrade my client for the first time ever.  I had a 0.3.x copy.  After I got the new 0.6.2 client I was unable to send coins to a friends address.  I deleted everything buy my wallet.dat file to try and re download the block chain.  This took many hours, appears to have re downloaded the new blockchain, I still have all my coins, but Im still unable to send them to my friend.

Help?

EDIT:  I was trying to send to an invalid address.  The address I was trying to send to had a non visible illegal character in it somehow...

Sound money not being gold?

If we find a truly 'sound money' ,such as BTC Wink , what value would gold have left?
