We should clamp for Chelsea because of winning this match against Tottenham because Tottenham is a team they are currently in their best form and that's hard for any team to take points against this team as they are racing to the top of the premier league.
However, I think the performance of Tottenham in this match was not bad at all and I was even expecting to see a comeback from Tottenham to change the result.
Maybe the red card from Cristian Romero was the reason for this result.
I cannot believe Chelsea winning vs Tottenham Hotspur with 4 goals to 1. I didn't expect their defeat in the first place, at home but also with 3 goals difference. I don't see Young Boys standing any chance against Manchester City in Etihad Stadium. I think also that we might see a lot of goals, maybe at least three in both sides with 2 goals difference for Manchester City. I understand, but I just don't want to underestimate Young Boys who have probably learned from their mistakes in the home match against Manchester City. I agree that Manchester City is the favorite team to score more than 3 goals against Young Boys, but no matter how low Young Boys' chances are in this match, they should not be underestimated. I didn't underestimate Young Boys in fact but I was sure about Manchester City performance in that game otherwise I wouldn't say at least 3 points will be scored by the two teams and there will be 2 goals difference. It turns out that Young Boys was overestimated by me since they failed to score a goal  In the other hand, I didn't expect to see Barcelona failing against Shakhtar Donetsk, that team has many reasons to fail and they won. I don't think Barcelona has a lot of problems in La Liga. They might miss some points every couple of games but they are pretty solid in my opinion. I go for Barcelona victory in today's match in Hamburg. Shakhtar Donetsk isn't even the first in Ukrainian league and with injuries as you mentioned, the situation will be worse tho. If Barcelona win that game, they will qualify for the next stage and mostly in the first place tho. Young Boys is basically not an opponent that matches the quality of Manchester City's current players, but when I remember their previous matches then I am sure that Young Boys can put Manchester City in trouble.

Yeah, they're in last place and there's probably no point in even talking about qualifying for the Europa League, because either Borussia or New Castle are likely to qualify. Milan - PSG in San Siro will be interesting even though the results of Milan in Serie A aren't promising lately. Odds right now are in favour of PSG although they are playing away. Milan should win to pass to the third position or at least get the same number of points with Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle in case they got the draw. That group is very hard and Milan have to deal with it if they want to go further or at least secure the third place and a chance to move to Europa League. |

Lyon finished 7th last season but based on the current performance I am not sure they will be able to achieve such result. A club that was a Champions League semi-finalists in 2020 is now struggling to remain win a match. The club's desire now will be to struggle to remain in the Ligue One next season. Fabio Grosso needs more time to build the team so the club need to be patient with him. Lyon's next game will be with Rennes, a team that has not won any game in four matches. A win against Rennes will move Lyon to the seventeenth position that is if Clermont Foot losses it's game against Lorient but a loss will still keep them at the bottom of the league.
Lyon lost games vs clubs weaker than Rennes.. Besides, they are playing away vs them. I doubt Lyon could win and I think getting a point from them will be an achievement. I hope Fabio Grosso could push the team a little above the relegation zone but with all the tension around the team, I doubt this will occur anytime soon. Real Madrid will obviously feel regret because of losing these two points against a team like Rayo Vallecano. Udinese is one of the teams that has never won so far and after they just fired their coach last week, they immediately secured their first win of the season. A very good result for Udinese, especially since they beat an unusual opponent, namely Milan. It seems like Milan has recently lost its consistency and in the last 5 matches they have only been able to win 2 times. The image shows it was out of play but we're only looking at it from the angle where the part of the ball touching the ground. I haven't seen a clear image that shows if the other side was completely over the line. I don't think the PL has that level of tech yet to prove without a shadow of a doubt if the ball is in or out. If it's inconclusive then the original call or non-call stands.
In the upcoming years I assume technology and artificial intelligence mainly will replace humans decision on such difficult situations at least. There was several controversies but what I always say that Arsenal or any other team could play better and score other goals to avoid counting on risky decisions to save them from a defeat or a draw. Newcastle did good in ending gunners winning strike which might move to the 5th place by the end of this round. Manchester City won big yesterday vs Bournemouth with 6 goals to 1 and get 3 points from them while Tottenham Hotspur could get away with 5 points if they succeed to defeat Chelsea today. In this round there was other surprises like Sheffield United first victory, Brighton getting the draw at the end of the match vs Everton. The last match of the day in the French Ligue 1 will be played between Marseille and Lille. Marseille are going through a very chaotic period. Their game against Lyon last week was postponed before it even started due to the aggressive behavior of their fans. They don't have the stability they had last season in the league. I am sure they are regretting the loss of Igor Tudor. On the other hand, Lille have been performing well in recent weeks. They haven't lost their last 4 games. And they have collected 10 points in this period. And I think their win against Monaco was important. I think they will not lose to Marseille in this match. I think Lille are the favorites to win this match.
Marseille 0 - 0 Lille. That was a very bad start of the season for Marseille. They are sitting in the 8th position of the table although getting only 4 points from 15, the last 5 games! They are just in front of Lens which had a very bad start of the season but they seemed to wake up but the draw of this match vs Lorient didn't help them advance properly. PSG were lucky to win and to have similar opponents which fail many times. |
