i really am glad to be seeing this good experiences, well mostly good i should say since clearly not everyone is going to be happy no matter what is done. I just hope more and more people keep on posting experiences that are positive and i guess even the bad ones that have merrit behind them and not just anger lol
762  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 14, 2015, 03:22:24 AM
I can confirm that the card is accepted by paypal. It took only seconds to confirm the card in my paypal account. Very nice now I can buy stuff with bitcoin wherever paypal is accepted.

that is nicely done now if paypal would take bitcoin would be awesome, i would say with like a 5% transaction fee though that way it does not try to push bitcoin price down

Hey,

I tried to get a Xapo card but wasn't able to get "validated" by their process, odd...
I'm going to try an AMX card.

what do you mean it was not validated?

769  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 13, 2015, 01:55:40 AM
And just because the price of BTC is down or the difficulty is up, doesn't mean that they can continue to reduce the cost of mining gear. It was inevitable that it would get to this point.

As Jesse Pinkman would say... "It's economics, bitch!"

Corollary: Don't wonder why the peasants are sharpening their pitchforks and lighting their torches when pricing is increased. Mining gear should never, EVER, become more expensive to buy new, the longer it is out.

i got my shinny new pitch fork all ready to go my old one just broke but i still love hashnest they done me good for so long
770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 13, 2015, 01:54:11 AM
You whiny bitches are really pissing me off, lol. The price can only go so low before Bitmain stops making a profit.

This isn't a charity nor a communist organization. Profit keeps companies alive. So don't ever expect a company to sell products below their cost to manufacturer. An S5 (or whatever) costs X dollars to produce. And just because the price of BTC is down or the difficulty is up, doesn't mean that they can continue to reduce the cost of mining gear. It was inevitable that it would get to this point.

As Jesse Pinkman would say... "It's economics, bitch!"

i agree now let me pay with my credit card and not bitcoins lol
771  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: February 11, 2015, 01:39:06 PM
Just as a comparison, if you bought a Bitman S5 today as a newbie miner.

S5 is $413
PSU is $110
Raspberry Pi $56
Postage $23

Location USA, 10 cent per a watt.
Average difficulty 12 months 47 billion
BTC average price $225 over 12 months.

ROI is 14.28 months. Block Halving is in 18 months Cheesy

Older miners, may have an existing PSU (11.28 months) or existing PC/Raspbery Pi (12.85 months) or both (10.28 months).

Currently, if you pop over to Havelock and buy some AMHASH1, on these identical variables you're looking at a 7-8 month ROI.

Units producing at 0.2watts per 1GHs are unlikely to out before June this year; you'd have made back most of your investment before difficulty rises towards 49.99 billion. Also, a lot of GPU manufacturers and CPU manufactuerers suffered 4-6 months delays when they went to 16nm fabrication (poor silicon yields equaled delays) Wink

Additionally, (these are highly speculative estimates) because this is guessing at non-public information:

1.2watts per 1GHs 50PTHs is swtiched off, but still setup to be switiched on if BTC price rises.
1.2 watts per 1GHs 60PTHs is in locations were electricity is 9 cent per watt and switches off when difficulty passes 44 billion.

1watt per 1ghs will be switched off at a difficulty of 47.1 billion onwards. This is speculation, but about 160PTHs of this network hashpower is here.

0.7watt per 1ghs will be switched off at difficulty of 67.3 billions onwards. This stuff is quite new and there is about 80GHs of it on the network.

So, there are significant obstacles in place to halt rises in network difficulty Grin

INTERESTING that is alot of fancy numbers, lets hope difficulty drops and makes amhash more earnings  Grin

That is exactly what they are doing.  Good for them, bad for us.. Why do you think they announced  selling us the s5 while btc was crashing, then delayed it as it recovered?  As soon as the s5 is no longer a sure thing they will sell the risk to us.
Good business I guess.
Notice how the s4 units for sale disappeared when the btc price recovered nice?

Bitmain are most certainly fucking with us (I *KNOW* they've fucked with me... Twice now) As you said, good business for them, bad business for us.

The S5 still being at $370 considering it's price history, and recent difficulty increase, is nothing but blatant, transparent greed.

Appears that Bitmain is becoming the next KNC and Bitfury Sad

Very disappointing seeing this becoming a pattern in Bitcoin space - Customers on these forums help support legitimate companies, and as they become these massive institutions, those same institutions we helped support end up fucking us over with pricing/availability and lying to us Sad

Looking like it's becoming "R.I.P. Home Mining" in the next 6 months.

Time to start looking for a new hobby methinks.

how sad what is it all coming down to
773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 11, 2015, 02:04:57 AM
Well said. I hope that no one would miss your posts.

But someone can explain me why people are selling S4?

expecting to save money for the s5 maybe ?
Probably this, I decided to take the plunge and get 2th of S4 while i wait for S5 launch.

I start to wonder if bitmain is not fucking with us . I mean : why sell S5 or put them in UMISOO.

Instead use it while it's competitive (against other pools)  and then sell it to cutomers when anybody has it .

I assumed they're waiting for another crash to sell the S5, if BTC takes a dive expect S5 release.

MAN i really hope that is not the case bitmain has always been good, dont stray on us now
774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 10, 2015, 06:00:44 PM
Ok it was just updated to 93% maint/fee for umisoo.

Any sustained drop in btc/usd of just a few dollars and umisoo will be shut off.

On top of that if there is just slightly bad luck on blocks it will make you negative btc on your account.

Just saying you might want to think.  IMO a more fair price given the earnings of umisoo atm is closer to .00007 or about half the current price and even at that price it is all gone if btc/usd drops just a  few more dollars.

On the reverse if btc recovers in the next 10 days and continues up then umisoo would be a good buy now.  Just ask yourself with the market trend of that last week/month/year if that is likely?

Just hope people think ahead before this thread gets bombarded with people blaming bitmain if umisoo gets shut off any day now.

mmmm do i feel lucky enough to be gambling on the umisoo price and current bitcoin price ... talk about dilemas we face vs the fear lol i might just do a coin toss

lol what ..................... 18 days for new years holiday? is that how long chinese new year last or are they just having one super long party lol, either way i am sensing alot of hung over people  Grin
776  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: February 10, 2015, 05:35:18 PM
Fees are currently 84%. I know I sound like a broken record but if the BTC price does not go up you are screwed with every version of Hashnest. If you think prices will stay the same or go lower you should not invest.

lol it is ok at this point we all sound like bbroken records hoping the fees drop lower or the bitcoin price goes up to like atleast $300 playing field to keep us safe so a bit longer

Are there problems with iron or why are few on the market?
I've sold 1000 irons and still have 3000 gold. Normally I would get 10000 gold?

Check your Bitcoin balance.
Maybe they were bought out with Bitcoin instead of Gold?
Ok. I think i get gold, but i get gold or bitcoin.

yes remember people can buy your reasources with bitcoin or with in game gold  Cool

How would you guys feel if I made an option to invest in the site and get a share of the profits?

Right now, the profits aren't that big but this might change later on.

The idea is something like this:
I will be setting up the site on https://coinsplit.io/
All payments will be transfered to them and from there shared between all who invested in the site.
Investors will get a cut depending on the amount they invested.

I am thinking that 50% of the profits goes towards site and 50% towards investors.

Is this something you guys would be interested in?
Either as a one-time down payment or a 1-year based contract.

MMM does sound interesting keep us updated

Nice one. Schadenfreude won't last long though, he'll e-mail Josh and will get reinstated in no time. Likely one of the other Admins went rogue with this one.

lol now why would something like that ever happen that is just crazy talk my friend, everything always remains civil and the control is always kept no matter what is going on  Shocked

How exactly do you "step down" from a company you started, run, and own?  Doesn't even make sense.
He seems to think there's somebody out there crazy enough to take over this shitshow... he's sadly mistaken

it actually happens often in the real world of business, look at microsoft bill gates decided to step down and let some one else control the show he is now only a advisor. I think even Steve Jobs stepped down from apple when he was getting ill. So the issue is not how does it happen as rest assured does all the time people step down from legit MULTI BILLION $ companies, but like was said he must think someone will want to walk into this shit storm
