I 100% agree to that. Let the kids enjoy their childhood days as its not their age to start earning. Also it is not the right time for them to start earning. Its duty of parents to earn and not the kids
earning money and being able to spend it on whatever you like isn't going to take away from their childhood....
I must agree kids and teens shouldnt have to
worry about making money and paying bill, they should be focused on studies.
but i think learning about money is very important, and the earlier the better.
i think doing household courses and getting rewarded with a sum of money to do with as you please, is necessary, even if the parents have the means to simply pay for everything the kid needs and want, they should not. you do not want to spoil your kid...
When the kid is ready, you give him responsibilities that you pay him to do, you take care of all his "needs" and then let him pay with his wants with his own money he earned.
give him several ways to earn money, doing household chores is an obvious one, you can also "pay for his report card", and A = 20$ a B =10, a C = 5$ and a D. F = 0 or -5$ or somthing...
in essence you are paying your kid to do well in school, he learns how to save money to and prioritize what he will spend his earning on.
when the kid is older encourage him to take a summer job.
simple paying for EVERYTHING your kid needs and wants is asking for trouble, you're not doing him any favors, you're simply spoiling him.
