761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT dying? on: August 19, 2015, 06:54:54 PM
NXT's biggest issue is marketing, and that shitty logo.

Ethereum had the better marketing, and had the bucks behind it.  *shrugs shoulders*.

Ethereum had lots of known players with lots of connections.  NXT had/has lots of anon's with few connections.  That is part of the problem with being anon.

nxt is taking more of the organic approach since there is no foundation or company behind it that's really pushing it forward. i guess you can look at it as it taking the approach of how the internet was back in the early days.

build it and people will just come.

But they won't. 99.9999% of people couldn't give a flying fuck about smart contracts and cryptography. To spread this concept of decentralisation to enough people to make something like decentralised computing even work takes an organisation with aims and coordinated plans.

Bitcoin created this 0.00001% market.  Up till now, all the Altcoins are just operating inside the market that Bitcoin created. Cannibalising the market cap of Bitcoin. The biggest example is Bitcoin is the only thing that you can really turn into cash, all the Altcoins are typically bought and sold with btc.

If this decentralised blockchain concept is to make waves in a market outside BTC market and maybe expand that market to 0.0002% it will need a strong team and ambitious plans. There is no way something like Ethereum could survive if it's only market was all of you lot on this subforum.

Any clone of BTC or LTC is cannibalizing Bitcoin.  But blockchains will be very big someday.  There is A LOT of room for expansion and specialization.  Only one chain can't do everything well.  To that end other chains are good to meet special needs of niches.  NXT is a great example of how that is being done and introducing new tech that isn't found in BTC or any other platform for that matter.

As much as I like Bitcoin, i think this is the correct way, BTC should not be, nor any other crypto should be a sole dominator.

We need constant competition, thats what capitalism is about, perpetual competition and no monopolies.

The more cryptos out there the better!

763  Local / Hors-sujet / Re: La dictature parfaite on: August 19, 2015, 06:38:22 PM
Bitcoin est vraiment le seul outil qui peut nous sauver de tyrannies et l'asservissement total de la population par les banques.

Nous avons l'espoir mes amis!

Liberté, égalité, fraternité! Viva la France!

stupid devs
Well, I must say, they are still way smarter than you... Roll Eyes

Not if they intentionally divide and conquer the userbase and risk 4.7 billion $ of user funds based on their stupid ego.

A true intellectual would give in his ego and achieve a compromize. These devs are just clowns that got lucky to work on this project.
What if it's their primary plan? That's possible.

I suspect that bitcoin has been infiltrated by shadow forces from behind and many devs are controlled by marionettes from behind, so the sabotage can be intentional, to divide & conquer.

It's not a conspiracy, since many devs have been in the CFR meetings where the elite are meeting too.
765  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: August 19, 2015, 06:32:02 PM
But in the event of a delayed repayment, according to IMF protocol, Greece could be afforded a 30-day grace period,
during which it would be urged to pay back the money as soon as possible,
and before Ms Lagarde notifies her executive board of the late payment.

And do what, milk the taxpayers more?

They cant pay it, unless they start printing their own worthless money, which will then further downgrade the economy.

I just think crypto currency is their only saviour, from their wreckless government and banks
766  Economy / Economics / Re: I need bitcoin to be $690 to break even.....will I make it? on: August 19, 2015, 06:28:36 PM
now this bitlicense crap really put some bad pressure on bitcoin, but dont worry its only temporary.

Venezuela, colombia, uruguay, nicaragua, nigeria, thailand, philipines, mexico and many other places are booming in bitcoin services and will be ground 0 for bitcoin.

I think NY is overrated, as wallstreet is not that imporant anymore as once was.

Exactly, BitLicense plus this XT fork and block size debate have really put some pressure on the price. So the sliding down isn't that unexpected. As soon as one of these problems get solved, or forgotten (like NY BitLicense crap as you sad) or we get XT fork situation solved, we will head up again. We were in the very nice uptrend before all of this, but this is just too much stuff to bear about.

And yes, who gives a crap about NY, they have shot themselves in the foot!

Yea but i start to think that this sabotage is deliberate. Think about it, if the elite want to destroy bitcoin, dont they just want to destroy it be dividing it?

DIVIDE ET IMPERAM as Julius Caesar said, divide & conquer is the best way to destroy something

I don't care about New York.

The problem is if other states follows New York.

The problem is if USA follows that, and then Russia, China, Germany, Canada, etc.

Bitcoin could become a global currency, but it will be so regulated and watched, that it will lose all appeal.

I totally agree. In the grand scheme of things New York might be a very small piece of the puzzle, but if it sets a precedent that other states and countries follow it could be extremely detrimental to the development and adoption of Bitcoin around the world.

I just think Bitcoin has been infiltrated by unpleasant people who want to destroy it.

In my opinion ESET NOD32 is the best, I've used it for years and never had any problems regarding security.

Its not security that matters but privacy, and in some cases it's the same.

Instead of giving your credit card info and bank password so some thief in a 3rld world country ,now you give it to spies from your gov.

I was just thinking the same the other day but if you're on a windows machine then you have no choice but to rely on one of these antiviruses otherwise it'll get infected pretty quickly and there aren't much choices with open source antiviruses. I know one that is ClamAV but I don't think it will work as good as the other ones does.

And it's hard to only run a linux system as some of the apps don't work on it too great.

Actually you dont need an antivirus, you only need an anti spyware & firewall (that doesnt necessarly eliminate trojans but blocks them from transmitting data back to the hacker) & perhaps a realtime kernel analyzer, that detects suspicious activity in your windows system (a trojan horse trying to infiltrate in your system)

What information are the AV's collecting exactly?
is there any research or something I can read about this?

Probably all big antivirus softwares are compromised.
768  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: August 19, 2015, 06:05:06 PM
I`d save into Bitshares or Nushares or wtf is that name, a dividend paying crypto coin is the best method of earning steady income.

Saving and investment simultaneously!
769  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: best way for earning bitcoins on: August 19, 2015, 06:03:28 PM

770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: August 19, 2015, 06:02:51 PM
I earned 0.02 after I sold a poker guide to a friend, it was a good deal!
771  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you spending your Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2015, 06:02:14 PM
No, M just exchanging it to money

That might be a bad idea.

You know that after BTC halves next year it can possibly go to 1000$ back?
772  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: August 18, 2015, 04:49:59 PM
The inflation (as in a general price increase) can not be determined. If you take into account all prices, the increase or decrease of the prices is solely dependent on the quantity of money and the holding preferences for money amongst the public.

Wrong. There is a very important institution named Central Bank that have as principal duty the control of inflation. There are to many monetary policies that can be used to control this. If the inflation would be not controllable the economy will be in chaos and everyone will have big difficulties in its everyday life.

Correct. If the inflation cannot be controlled every salary or pension will lost his bought power very soon and continuously. So no one will be able to assure their needed things to do a normal life. Needed more money to live normally, more money mean more inflation and this will be a closed circle without end.

^
^^

Overconfidence in the central banks. They either don't know shit, or they don't tell you.

The central bankers have few means to control the exchange rate of the money they manage. For the short run, they can create more money and lower the interest rate (they have to create money to lower the interest rate), and people like that, because the low interest enables investment and spending. But after a while, the new money will be dispersed leading to higher prices over all, which is the same as lower money value.

Otherwise, they can use foreign money reserves to buy up their own money. That works as long as they have more left.

But the whole concept of controlling the money supply is ridiculous.

Yes with higher rates we would have slow economic growth, but it would be much more safe for investors.

I think we should have a permanent 7-15% interest rate, fuck the speculators i dont want my money to lose 99% of its value in 30 years.
773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: August 18, 2015, 04:31:22 PM
Only 0.2 BTC from trading altcoins, damn it's not what it used to be , but still a hefty prize. I love it!

it is a considerable income if you compare with the signature campaign from yobit
as you use now

Well I use the yobit income to buy more altcoins, so its more like a leverage to buy more altcoins.

So i earn 10x more from sig campaign just because i reinvest it into altcoins.
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT dying? on: August 18, 2015, 04:30:15 PM
NXT is definitely not dying and I doubt it ever will. Their still in the top 12, and it seems that other people don't seem to think it's dying.

Bro, just ignore the naysayers, they are just trolls, look at them nembie and jr accounts come here to teach us that NXT a 80 million $ market is dying because of a scammy wrongly planned & executed hype named ETHEREUM.

They are 1 year ahead and they dont even a wallet, atleast NXT had a wallet within 1-2 weeks that actually worked.
775  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: August 18, 2015, 04:27:57 PM
Bitcoin is very much like gold in its conception and implementation - issued as an asset, limited supply etc. The difference, of course, is that it can easily be used to transact anywhere on the planet - to buy and sell on a day-to-day basis.

It is totally different, since bitcoin is immaterial while gold is material. I guess philosophically it comes down to materialism vs immaterialism.

And i see the gold bugs here are very materialist, perhaps suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorders and cant realize that bitcoin is superior.

Stop flogging the dead horse.  NXT is dead, gone, done for.

Ah man, many trolls in this thead as it looks like most of them newbies or jr members, that tells alot.

NXT is the most innovating crypto out there, perhaps next to HYPER and GEMZ

None is safe, most antiviruses are just spyhubs, collecting information about all user's PC. Not good to use them.
780  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: August 18, 2015, 03:56:00 PM
The precedent that Greece abandoning the Euro sets would be devastating. It means that Germany or France could do so if they ever pleased, and the possibility of that happening would place the Euro in a lot of trouble.

Why wouldn't they go, they saw a country in the same euro group fall to its knees, despite making promises to return what it was. There is no way better for these countries, with all the drama that is happening, this is the best time for them. All other countries will leave, it will leave Eurozone worthless, and I think Greece knows that and they are making excellent advantage about that as well as the importance of their geographical location, which Eurozone values immensely.

Because the politicians are paid off, and they dont do what the people want but what their puppet-masters want.

Just look at the referendum, if that is not enough proof then i dont know what is. The people specifically said "no", and they couldnt even keep their promises for 2 fkin days!

Well just keep in mind theres not much they can do.

Just like everyone has influence and has money, people get bought out and they make the game in their favor.

Yes the entire system: political & financial is rotten to the core. These abominational policies like QE forever and endless regulations and high taxes are slowly dooming humanity and the creativity of the human soul.

If this persists, humans will become walking zombies in a few decades with empty souls and brains filled with propaganda.

So long as there's no famine .....

Well there is, many folks got kicked out of their house, foreclosure, the banks are nasty etc.

Homeless people getting more and more, and they are starving, as they cant even get money from begging like they used to, because everyone is poor.

Looks like greece will have big riots soon, SYRIZA is just controlled oposition, they wont do jackshit about the economy.
