761  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success in futures trading after long wait. on: February 27, 2023, 10:48:04 PM
Yes definitely it is better not to enter the futures trading platform for newbies. Participating in spot trading platform may result in losses but hope for recovery later. But if you get hurt or lose in future trading platform then you can never recover. Once your balance is exhausted you will be given a liquidation call and all your balance will vanish. So I advise those who have no idea about this trading to stay away from futures trading.
I think it all started with spot trading. Before we become a futures trader, we first started with spot because it has some of the elements that is needed to learn futures trading easily so it would be weird if someone will just jump straightly on futures thinking it was more profitable than in spot only because they heard that it was risky but not all high risk are highly profitable right?

And there are also low risk but still highly profitable like for example investing in Bitcoin. You didn't bother sharing your strategy because you know that it might still not work with others but I know there are some who are too stingy to share their strategy for free.

Beginners are supposed to start from spot trading, with lower risk than futures trading. Usually those who start with futures trading do not really know the big risks that will occur. They are just victims of some advertisements or influencers who make it so easy to trade on futures platforms. No matter how much money is used, if you don't understand the risks that will occur, it will run out and be liquidated, especially when they use large leverage, the faster they will lose. Those who don't want to share strategies may also be because each strategy used is not the same and cannot be applied by others, or being too stingy might be the reason. But it would be very risky if the shared strategy failed and caused other people to suffer losses.
762  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People mindset in Bitcoin on: February 26, 2023, 11:30:17 PM
Bitcoin as a decentralized digital asset, not regulated by any authority, can be self-regulated and there will be no storage fees for third parties. But bitcoin has risks. When someone says that bitcoin can solve financial problems, then everyone will be competing to get into bitcoin. But in fact bitcoin will not be that easy to solve financial problems. It all also depends on how someone can use bitcoin as a good place to manage finances, making long-term investments rather than getting good profits. Not without risk, all investments will definitely have risks. Bitcoin risk is high volatility that makes the price very volatile and if they can't be patient and panic too much then they will lose everything.
763  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is there so much resistance for Bitcoin reaching $25,000 on: February 26, 2023, 08:30:18 PM
Last week, Bitcoin price hit a resistance peak of $25K, the highest price for the last six months. However, Bitcoin failed to capitalize on the increased momentum, which is likely related to the US inflation data that exceeded expectations. Opportunities for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates higher and liquidate a large number of assets in the long term to suppress inflation is getting bigger. According to the US government's Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), in January 2023, the Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index (PCE) reached 5.4%, down from 5.6% in the previous two months to 5.3%.

In the short term, Bitcoin price continues to experience uncertainty directly affected by macroeconomic events and the possibility of a potential interest rate hike at the next FOMC.
However, in the longer term, market participants still expect the price of Bitcoin to rise, especially with more banks and financial institutions turning to digital currency.

764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does this help you win when you're gambling? on: February 26, 2023, 07:18:01 PM
Come to online or offline gambling and think about winning and looking for lots of profits, it will be a pressure that requires you to win when the game lasts. There will be no calm when you the first game you do lose and keep losing. It's different if gambling is just to fill their free time just as entertainment, they won't think about winning or losing. They just want to unwind and use the rest of the money they still have. When you win, the game ends and will stop, but for those who just want to make money and big profits, the first win is not a sign of stopping but it will be a starter to keep playing until you finally lose and lose everything.
765  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Deal with Volatility? on: February 26, 2023, 06:45:14 PM
better yet, diversify your assets not only in bitcoin or crypto, but other assets like real-estate or precious metals...

Not every forum participant can afford such diversification, since for this you need to have a lot of capital that will allow you to invest money in real estate, gold and cryptocurrency at the same time. Nevertheless, if you have achieved success in crypto, you need to invest some of the money in the real sector of the economy.

Everyone could start with a chunk and later in if they are successful then they think about investing on other alternative option since this is the best thing to do. Since trusting only on altcoins might put you at risk because we know sometimes its volatility is so traitor and we could lose all we have in short period of time.

An alternative option means diversifying the investment to be made. To choose altcoins, it is better to use altcoins that are already highly ranked, don't choose high-risk altcoins that will be lost and abandoned. even the top altcoins are not a guarantee of success either. Altcoins do have higher volatility because there are many influences that will make the price very unstable, but by doing the right management and entering at the right price, the profit will be bigger.

Quote
To deal with volatility well maybe the least thing we can do is always not to expect to much with more huge pump because once we look for more and never secured the possible profit we already achieve then maybe we will hit back by the dump and somehow we go on losing stage.

The big pump only happens instantly and it will also be accompanied by a big dump. instead of hoping for a big pump, it is better to focus on accumulating profits for the long term, and that would be a good strategy. Expecting fast profits, you must also be prepared for fast losses.
766  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Success in futures trading after long wait. on: February 26, 2023, 06:16:12 PM
Seems not really necessary for updating about how your success with future trading
It's fine to share the success on trading, but it's good idea if the OP also shares his trading strategy instead of just his success.
Somebody might expect that of him rather than congratulating him on his success, and I think it's more than great idea to be useful. I guess ideas like this are just rarely thought of, but I hope they'll do better while being grateful for the success.

Yes maybe a variety of what tips and strategies to use, but with the caveat that not all of the strategies the OP uses will suit others. Just as a suggestion or an example can be followed or not. Futures trading is a trade that is quite high risk compared to spot trading, therefore beginners who only want to enter without basic trading knowledge are advised not to do it.
767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching teenagers about bitcoin. on: February 26, 2023, 12:06:23 AM
A good step to be able to introduce bitcoin to some teenage students who cannot access information easily. Of course it will require more effort so they can understand what is being discussed. Seeing the writing on the board reminds me of when I was in high school and by writing the teacher's explanation on the board it will be easier to remember and understand it than now, who only use smartphones or printer printouts without the need to rewrite them.
when they can catch what you explain about bitcoin and they are interested, it is a sign that you are successful in teaching bitcoin knowledge. More students are asking questions and they are naturally curious about how bitcoin works. If you have a smartphone that can support direct bitcoin transactions, maybe you can do a practice session on how to send and receive bitcoins, so they will be more interested. If it's just theory, over time it will become a saturated class.
768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was he doing with 0.48 cents? on: February 25, 2023, 11:30:01 PM

13 years ago if he had taken bitcoin predictions so seriously he would never have sold 160 bitcoins for only 48 cents. He made history by selling 160 BTC for 48 cents 13 years ago at the lowest price in Bitcoin history.

13 years ago bitcoin lowest price was $0.003 /BTC
13 years later now bitcoin current price $23000/BTC
Now he gets=160×$23000= $3680000

Accurate calculation, but did you not count on the last ATH price reached, 160BTC x $68,789 = $11,006,240. amazing for the price and would make him a rich man selling it now. But if we have to look back, the decision to sell at $ 0.003 at that time may have been a good decision in his opinion, he may have been satisfied with it and become a great history. I have in the past even sold tens of Bitcoins for under $3000 and I have never felt disappointed because that is part of our journey while dealing with bitcoins. Compared to losing bitcoins due to careless actions such as throwing away hard drives containing thousands of bitcoins, but have not been found until now. it will hurt even more because it will give a lot of hope that will never come true, when it is gone then only numbers can be seen without being able to do anything.
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 25, 2023, 10:52:53 PM
Messi would probably do the same thing he did before. He would rather be free agent first to see if he can get an agreement with Barcelona again. Then he would make his final decision about his future. If it doesn't happen then I think he would play for PSG one more year at least.

I don't think Messi will go to Arab or US leagues. He is a legend. He should leave football in a way that suits a legend. After the contract with PSG is finished, if he signed a 1 -year contract with Barcelona and leaves football, he will complete a great career. Messi does not need to go to Arab or US leagues. Messi will not be as helpless as Ronaldo. I think there will be big clubs that want to see him at least one more season in Europe.
I can't really tell what is next for Messi whether or not he will continue his career at PSG. Rumors have it that a move to Arab league is likely but I don't see a possibility of joining Ronaldo at Al Nassr. The rivalry between Ronaldo and Messi is a great story the way it already is. If you ask me I feel Messi will extend for a further year with PSG, when he decides to leave the club I think he will want to end his career in Barcelona. Messi is not the type of player who likes to explore different clubs and leagues as we have seen throughout his career, he’s played for only 2 clubs and I strongly believe he will be returning to Barcelona.

Messi is an extraordinary player and many clubs will try to bid for Messi to enter his club. If the contract with PSG ends, Messi hasn't decided where to go, whether to extend it or not. But there are several requests from Messi that PSG must do so that Messi can survive and extend his contract, such as a salary increase. It is known that salary currently received by Messi is $ 41 million per season and that is not enough for Messi, Messi asked the club to be able to increase his salary in renewing the contract with PSG and that would be PSG's main consideration, because even though Messi can appear competitively, Messi is already old. 35 and it is feared that its performance will decrease. Besides that, Messi also has PSG have new players who are talented and can keep up with him and can win his fifth Champions League hat. Messi's desire to be a champion is still very big and it must be supported by new talented players who can make a contribution at PSG in the Champions League.
After the 2022 world cup is over, Messi intends to retire from the Argentina team and will take more time off. But because the break was too long, PSG was worried that it would affect the team's condition, because other players would certainly be jealous of the others training hard while Messi was still resting.
770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 25, 2023, 05:59:33 PM

On your last point it's clear to me not the best option. But has anyone made signature campaign their main source of income?
With no other work like being unemployed, I think it's fine to make signature campaigns the main source of income (for a while). But when they leave their main job and rely solely on signature campaign as source of income, it's clearly a bad decision.

There must be and probably more than you think. Those who make signature campaigns their main job are not without reason. As the same said before, they made signature campaigns because their jobs were unilaterally dismissed or couldn't find another job or there was no job call, so being on the forum and being a good contributing member became a last resort even though there would be some opportunities for other real jobs. Whether it is a bad decision or not depends on how to manage the salary received from the signature campaign. Saving some of the salary received for some other ventures or for investment is highly recommended, or also holding the payment in BTC for a long time, just like doing DCA for the long term.

Quote
Signature campaign won't last forever and will expire, so you shouldn't rely solely on signature campaign as source of revenue. The best thing is to make signature campaign side activity while chatting with thousands of different users on forum.

The signature campaign may be ending, but there will be a replacement. The forum continues to grow and developer requests for advertising on this number one bitcoin forum will probably continue but with a different mechanism.
771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 25, 2023, 11:27:04 AM
Technology has made life somehow easy for us today. In the days of our father, they had no idea about working online, all their work to make money were done physically, and with strength, either they engaged in mini or mega business that will provide money for them.We thank God for bitcoin, that came as a messiah,to enrich the hopeful. Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking. What do yours tell you?

Signatures campaign shoudn't be consider as a source of income or you'll end up disappointed when they're gone. I know many can't come with the reality that we can wake up one day to discover that the signature privilege has been disconnected but that's very possibly. If you pay closed attention, you'll realized those ads that usually pop up on the first post in a thread isn't displaying anymore and that's because theymos has disactivated that.  We also have some board and thread that signature ads don't get displayed that means if theymos wants to extend on the general forum, that won't be difficult to achieved.

Signature campaigns are suitable as side jobs that support the main job. I support that, but some people treat signature campaigns as their main job without anything else. Maybe it's due to various factors like getting fired from a job unilaterally, or not finding another job, then forums become a good place to make money. I don't know what the future of the signature campaign will be, is there a big change or is it still going to stick around. If some threads are not showing ads, then there will be less interest from project developers to do signature campaigns on this forum.

OP seems to really have to explain what bitcoin is and how he makes money off of forums, rather than lying about the fictitious shop he told his dad about.
772  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: From this you can be accurate 85% of the time on: February 24, 2023, 09:24:32 PM
although this is not advice or financial advice claiming to be 85% accurate is probably an exaggeration. a success percentage of 85% when always applied will generate big profits, but have you achieved these profits and been consistent, or is it just an analysis that you did only once and never tried. Using a 15-minute time frame is still a short-term method and won't necessarily work on a larger time frame. Even if you claim that success is 85%, that would not completely live up to predictions. Those who claim to be professional traders only lose profits because of one mistake, and that will also be the case for mistakes that might be made when using this strategy.
773  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traffic will jam if bitcoin pumps on: February 24, 2023, 01:03:31 AM
Does the title match your posts?
I am not sure. Maybe due to the language barrier.
Who said Bitcoin doesn't have a strong foundation? Already millions of people use bitcoin and hold it. Day by day, people are learning more about bitcoin. Whoever knows in-depth details about bitcoin and its features. They are still using it, and it's spreading over the world. Nobody knows when the pumps will start. Everyone just predicts and we do the same as well.

This is what i do want to ask too on which i dont see the connection of the topic title on the content of the post which it is really that too contradicting.
Going back about being the main coin been supported by the community then it would be no surprise since it had been tested out by lots of challenges and other issues that had been thrown to it
but still it do stood strong.

For those who had missed out the train then its still not that late for us to get in but of course earning opportunity and chances is really entirely different compared
to those who had able to get in early.

it's a little contradictory, but according to the OP about bitcoin foundation, he said that a beginner can't stay strong holding bitcoin because they don't understand what bitcoin's foundation really is, so they have no reason to continue to hold bitcoin. but for those who believe and know about the bitcoin foundation, will continue to hold bitcoin until the price they want is reached.
The bitcoin user community has spread all over the world and has become a large community.
For those who are behind or know about bitcoin, now there are still many opportunities that can be obtained. The price of bitcoin is also still in the $20k area and it is still very much worth it to enter. entering early means entering as soon as possible, due to rapid price fluctuations so determine where you will enter.
Bitcoin is for long-term investment, so don't panic about the decline, it only provides an opportunity for us to continue to add bitcoin assets.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how do I keep my private key safe? on: February 23, 2023, 11:55:44 PM
You should under no circumstances store your private key inside your email or any online service. This is probably a more vulnerable approach than just using an online wallet or keeping the coins in a desktop client like electrum.

If you want to store private keys or seed phrases, write them down or print them off and store them in a safe place. Or if you prefer digital storage, encrypt a USB storage device or two with strong passwords that you will remember, store your private keys/seeds on their in encrypted text documents and keep those devices in safe places. This is probably the most ideal and practical solution.
How about the private key being backed by the Google account that use separate password to view the private key. I saw this feature avialed on trust wallet. We were asked to which the wallet private key needs to be backed, manually or to Google. In which we get access to our Google account and there we were requested to create a separate password. Does this serves to be secure.

Why store your private keys or information with a service like Google who are known to harvest data and overall betray the user as a service, when instead you can be in complete control of your keys/seeds with the peace of mind of physical control, no online exposure and encryption?

I am heavily biased against Google and big tech, though this aside I believe that storing any information with google (let alone your private keys or seeds) is unwise at the very least and unsafe otherwise, no matter how you go about it.

then that way no one will be safe as long as they still store private keys or whatever in services like google and other online storage. We don't know what they do with the data we upload, but in that way the best way is to save it offline with the device we have such as a flash drive, writing on a steel plate or another way that has full access without any third parties. But risks will also occur such as loss, damage and the like.
and what becomes dangerous is the internet, because the internet will connect all devices easily. When you store the private key on a device that is not connected to the internet at all, it's even better. no one will be able to hack the device, and the possibility of being attacked by malware also will not exist, unless you connect the device to several devices that have previously been infected with malware.
775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is your reason for gifting bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 11:29:29 PM
If $300 worth of bitcoin is given to someone who doesn't have a job and have been looking for opportunity to invest in bitcoin.  Will it be possible for the person to focus on this investment without selling at the moment because of the present financial situation. I'm asking this question because of people who wish to gift bitcoin to people who are going through difficult financial challenge,  is there any need to give bitcoin as gift to people who need money to settle urgent financial problems.

Or bitcoin should only be given to those who can truly invest and yield profits.  Can you gift bitcoin to random people who may not make profit from it.
El Salvador did something like that to introduce their citizens to bitcoin when they launched a 30$ worth of BTC giveaway and as result, most people simply cashed out the funds from bitcoin into fiat to use it as they wished. So it's safe to assume most people are just going to cashout the gift you send them to spend it in fiat, although the smart ones who want to take full advantage of bitcoin's potential will hold it thinking on long term returns.

To give free large chunks of money isn't a good way to incentivize bitcoin adoption due to El Salvador's example, which shows us the currently common sense mindset of the people in the world regards investments and bitcoin.

the average would probably do the same thing, cashing in bitcoins to fiat, whereas the main purpose of being given bitcoins is for them to understand what bitcoins are and how to use them. Education is needed before giving bitcoin to people who have never used bitcoin or are new to bitcoin. Tell about greater returns in the long term. Giving a gift that is too big will indeed be risky, but it depends on who the recipient is. To encourage bitcoin adoption to become more widespread, there is no need to give away too many bitcoins, the most important thing is how education about bitcoin can be conveyed and can make brands inspired and finally use bitcoin.
776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 23, 2023, 10:19:09 PM
Personally, I don't think Union Berlin will be champion in this season. That seems unlikely to me. This group is not weak. However, the team's performance suddenly dropped. Against Schalke they definitely should have earned full points. But they can't do it. Union Berlin had a poor performance against Schalke. I think Dortmund and Bayern Munich teams are doing much better than Berlin right now. And if Dortmund continues to perform like they are now, Dortmund has a chance to win the title.
Not only you but everyone will definitely not think about conditions like this because the possibility is clearly very small. But what they did this time was really very inconvenient and of course this was something that was really good at making Bayern at least uncomfortable with their current condition.
But at the end of the season, in the end, only Bayern could bring the trophy.

Dortmund may continue to improve its performance in every game, the same point as Bayern makes its position threatened, if Dortmund continues to do its best and scores several goals, Dortmund can become the leader of the standings. Several matches will continue, and tomorrow will be against Hoffenheim. Karim adeyemi will be the spearhead that will make Dortmund's game even better. Karim Adeyemi scored a goal against Hertha Berlin last week.

777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 23, 2023, 03:46:12 PM

~snip~In general 60% is a large number for beginners when investing in bitcoin, especially when calculated from the total savings they have. In my opinion, adjustments are needed in investing and cannot be forced instantly, because if you want to make the right investment, consideration is needed regarding the benefits that will be obtained and the risks that will be incurred in investing.

and in conclusion, it all depends on the strategy we will use. Allocating 60% or less is not a benchmark. But for beginners it is quite big, because when they start to panic when the market crashes they will do stupid things by doing cut losses. it takes some education for beginners on how to deal with crashes like that, if they crash by holding bitcoin it is still quite safe and the price will of course come back again. But if you hold other than bitcoin it will be more risky and it may take a long time to return to the initial buying price.
778  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 22, 2023, 06:01:02 PM

~snip~For me it is not recommended for beginners to try to invest as much as 60% of their savings in Bitcoin, because the knowledge they have will not be comparable to the expectations they want when bitcoin is undergoing a long correction process, but it is better for them to start trying to take small amounts gradually and once he starts to understand how to invest, then take big opportunities when market conditions support buying, this step will lead someone to learn to understand the level of risk in investing.

60% might not be too bad for me, as long as beginners hold bitcoin and we all know that bitcoin is a recommendation for long term investment and with bigger profits and not affected by altcoins. the remaining 40% can be used for other investments such as for some of the top altcoins and for Fiat reserves, which is useful when prices start to fall beginners still have reserves to buy back. Buying gradually when you start to understand the investment can also be done, but determine where you will buy it. make sure it's secure.
779  Economy / Speculation / Re: What comes next for Bitcoin: $20K or $30K? on: February 22, 2023, 05:10:28 PM
Eventually, bitcoin fell to $23k but I hope bitcoin price can stay there. It looks like this week, the market movement will be more frequent ups and downs and we have to be prepared for that. But it still seems too difficult to reach $30k by the end of the month or next month but hopefully, the price can achieve that in the next month.

Maybe support is still between $20k-$22k but if market conditions continue to decline, support could release it for a while to back up the lower price so it doesn't continue to fall. It is time to add more bitcoins as the price has decreased quite a bit.
The price is down a lot given the past ATH, but relative to the past bottom around 15k bitcoin is still trading high. If the support around 20k breaks, we could see bitcoin around 15k again. But I hope that doesn't happen again and 30k is a magnet. But something tells me that 20k will happen sooner.

The $15k support is broken so we'd be prepared for a dip lower, but it's still a long way off. Currently still holding above the $20k price tag, and the last resistance is above the $25k price area. Waiting to hit $30k as that is my target for the next month. Hopefully bitcoin can survive and can achieve it. I've been buying gradually when bitcoin was under $20k and now profits are showing, but I'll be holding it long term, it gets better. target new ATH will be achieved then I will sell it.
780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: February 22, 2023, 04:36:45 PM
After yesterday beating Liverpool at Anfield in the Champions League match, this week Real Madrid will host the El Derbi Madrileño match against Atletico Madrid. Surely both coach Ancelotti and his players will be ready to return to win this match to continue to stick to Barcelona on the standings. We know that the meeting between the two was very hot and there were certainly many cards that had to be issued by the referee for players from both teams. If we look at the last meeting between the two, Real Madrid was able to beat Atletico Madrid away and this could be a good opportunity for Real Madrid to prove that they are so dominant in the El Derbi Madrileño match later.
Real Madrid should get an easy victory because they are playing at the place where they usually practice, Real Madrid must keep trying to catch up on the points behind Barcelona and win first place in La Liga, Benzema must continue to contribute to the match so that it is easy to win.

real madrid is still 8 points adrift with Barcelona, so real madrid needs more effort to be able to overtake it. When Real Madrid is easy to catch points, Barcelona is also easier and Barcelona is still unbeaten. Barcelona is still the best team in la Liga. Xavi as the coach of Barcelona is able to explore all the potential of the Barcelona squad so that each player's performance can be maximized and can maintain the top position to date. On February 27, Barcelona will face Almeria, and this will be a fairly easy match for Barcelona.
