781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 19, 2023, 06:17:06 PM
That's the way to go around it, as long as you have money available, you will keep gambling if you are addicted to it, and if you see that you don't have any money for it, you will most probably stop doing it and eventually get rid of the addiction. However, there are some people who will get into bad things once they run out of money if their addiction has reached a different height. They will look for ways that they can use to get some money only to continue gambling.

Some people have an addiction to loans, or perhaps it is an addiction to spending money, they constantly need to buy something, it is clear that the money will quickly run out and they will be obliged to take out even more loans. If such a person becomes addicted to gambling, then it will definitely become a very big problem, he will not stop when he runs out of money.

I think that it is not addiction to credit or some psychological disease that forces a person to spend money all the time, rather it is a credit trap into which many people who do not have sufficient income and level of knowledge in the financial sphere fall. Credit addiction leads to the fact that at some point a person has to take out a new loan to pay off the old one. In my country there are organizations that give loans to the poor at 400% per annum. If the government of my country cared about its citizens, this would not be the case. The same illiterate people can easily afford to gamble with borrowed money.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling affect your relationship? on: September 19, 2023, 06:05:18 PM
~snip~

Yes, I believe that gambling can provoke a gambler to change his behavior, which would then lead to the breakup of the relationship. But the main factor that affects a person is not gambling, because instead of gambling can be any other hobby, such as alcohol or food. In general, I believe that the fault is the inability to stop in time and it does not matter what it is about - gambling, alcohol or food. All these things are quite acceptable if they are not abused. Abuse leads to self-destruction. That is the main problem.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 19, 2023, 11:22:01 AM
This is something that happens to every single person that has experimented an addiction, as despite the fact that they know that going back to their former addiction is something bad, they cannot help but to crave for those sensations again, now this is very problematic for those that are addicted to illegal drugs, but it should be many times worse for those that got addicted to something that is legal, as the source of their addiction is everywhere and every single day is a struggle for them.
Therefore, you should always stay within the limits. And it's actually quite simple. But our human essence requires us to look beyond the edge and cross it. We never believe someone else's experience, and we won't believe it until we suffer from breaking the rules ourselves. From the decision they made themselves, turning a blind eye to the warnings of other people and the sad stories of people addicted to games. Therefore, it is very important to be able to control yourself and know your weaknesses. We need to be able to look at ourselves from the outside and admit that we are not perfect, and we ourselves may be in the narrator's chair about his gambling addiction. A lot of different circumstances can break us, but now we have no idea about them, because every person has his life experience limited, and expands throughout his life.
Staying in your limits is not simple if you are a regular gambler. It starts becoming harder and harder as you go deeper into your gambling habit and finally find yourself addicted to it. It can be done if you are disciplined from the very beginning and you know that you can't gamble more than a certain amount or you can't keep gambling for more than a decided time span, but if you haven't been doing that from the beginning, you really can't do it later in your journey.

You will barely find a person who started gambling casually without any limit or anything and they started gambling as a responsible person later on, because once you are too deep into the ocean, there is no chance for you to learn swimming because you were supposed to practice that before going there.

No one is forcibly dragging anyone to the casino and if a person has no strength to resist his desires then his mind is much weaker than the action of hormones that arise in his blood due to chemical reactions during gambling. I would advise such people not to gamble but to spend time and money to improve their mind and learn to fully control themselves. After all, an adult without proper control is similar to a child, and a child will always find problems.
784  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 19, 2023, 11:04:23 AM
But controlling yourself does not equals to keeping something in secret. Gambling responsibility does not equal to keeping gambling in secret also. If someone want to look responsible, is scared that his gambling might turn into addiction, then is is even better to announce that you gamble, than hide it. People around might notice addiction and try to help.

Notice how on the first pages of this topic people supported that it is better to hide such hobby or way to spend time, and how we talk about addiction, wife/husband spending fortune and other problems. A lot of problems we have in our lives are due to keeping something in secret, lack of communication and keeping everything inside than putting it on public. I bet you have lots of example in your life when you would better have told something than kept that in secret or was silent about something.

Instead of keeping something in secret, better surround ourselves with right people.
I was one of the persons who believed that we should keep our gambling life secret to avoid stigmatization from the public. But after reading your post I think it will be good to show close relatives and friends that you are a responsible gambler. I believe most of them will understand your explanation as much as it is not affecting your finances negatively. As you said, it is these people who will help to identify when you are over-gambling or suffering from gambling addiction.

People should know the cause of your problems so that they can offer help. Most people who are fighting gambling addiction become depressed when they don't get help from people. However, relatives might not know the cause of the problem because they are unaware that such a person gambles. From now on, I will seek means to intimate some of my trusted relations about my gaming life.

Hiding a gambling addiction can really play a cruel joke at a time when a gambler will need the help of loved ones. I do not understand why many people adjust to the opinions of society. Society by and large does not care about us and it is well seen by the huge number of beggars in any country in the world. Live as you want, as long as you do not break the law and do not forget about your loved ones, because in reality only they can help you.

Grin ~

Argent:

<div class=“css-1yn68ap”

I don't quite agree with you. Almost any person can get rid of addiction even without the help of specialists once and for all, but only he must have a clear understanding that addiction brings him problems and a sincere desire to get rid of it. Most gamblers with gambling addiction are not ready to admit even to themselves that they have a problem. This is the main barrier in getting rid of addiction.
787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: September 17, 2023, 11:10:25 AM
What you've mentioned happens. People never understand well about gambling. At the starting days the gamblers used to be lucky. I don't know how good this is happening around with the users. I've personally experienced it. If I've come out of it with the early stage win, then it could've been good for me. I didn't do it, but I kept gambling and end up losing everything. This is the reality with most of the users, when they realise everything could've got over and they're away from their lucky part. We need to understand well about gambling, if not what we could experience is massive losses.

Most people think that casinos are places to make money, but that's wrong, casinos are places to spend money. If they (gamblers) can't forget the money they spent at the casino then they will deposit again, again, and again. This is the beginning of their addiction to gambling.

I agree with you, that gamblers initially had a lot of luck and big wins. Whether the casino sets its algorithm like that or not, but after playing for longer, the losses keep coming. Do you have a gambling schedule? maybe once a week or would you gamble every day if you had the money?

Most people think that gambling can make money; they don't think it's bad. But what they see and think is that if they hit the jackpot with their small capital, they can get rich immediately. Their thinking is positive.

But they don't think that what often happens in gambling is that the gamblers lose. And most of them don't notice that they are already losing a lot when they play at the casino in the field of crypto gambling. So it is also a good habit that we should only gamble by scheduling when we have gambling here and also limiting the amount that the gambler gambles.

I'm not quite sure what you base your conclusions on. Any gambler who can at least a little analyze and calculate perfectly understands that in a gambling game losing is as natural as winning, but its probability is slightly higher, because gambling is a zero-sum game and if someone wins, someone must lose. In addition, gambling providers take a percentage for the organization of gambling space.

Do you really think that most gamblers do not understand such simple things?

789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 16, 2023, 06:06:31 PM
~snip~

Do you really think the probability of winning at gambling depends on your bankroll?

I have always believed that the probability of winning, if it depends on the size of the bankroll, then very slightly, and the amount of win/loss is proportional to the risks.

Many gamblers playing on the strategy of Martingale still believe that their probability of winning is higher than when playing without any strategy, but this is also a misconception, as each next roll of the dice is not related to the previous one, if we are talking about playing dice.

Do you still believe screenshots on the internet? Such screenshots are made in a matter of minutes. For those who are used to working with cryptocurrencies, it's high time to switch to a fairer trust format - signing the message with an address. If I were you, I wouldn't trust strangers from X or Telegram, because there is a possibility that their goal is to run a script on your computer that steals passwords, seed phrases and other information stored on your computer without proper attention.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can money be saved in gambling sites? on: September 16, 2023, 03:28:38 PM
We only need to send the amount of money we can afford to gamble and will not use all the money that day.
It would be very careless if we spent the money we have on gambling all at once or spent it on just one game. And I have a friend who is very careless when gambling, where when he gets some money he will gamble and what is even more stupid is that he ignores his needs and obligations and prioritizes his gambling because he has a mindset like that when he wins big, then all his needs and obligations will fulfilled. and I don't want to experience the same thing as my friend experienced, so I always try and look for ways to regulate the gambling that I do.

So your friend already has a gambling addiction as a sensible gambler first of all takes care of his needs, obligations and gambles only on free money. I would take this issue more seriously if I were you. Try to talk to this friend and explain to him to reconsider his attitude to gambling. I am sure that if you had such a problem you would be glad to have the attention and help of a friend.
792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: September 15, 2023, 02:46:15 PM
well, if someone is poor from the start why would they gamble? instead of using their money for gambling, it is much better for them to use their money for better things such as buying milk for their children, saving money, or they can buy bitcoins in small amounts and that is much more profitable than hoping for luck in gambling which in the end will make them continue to be poor.
Usually, people who gamble from a lower middle class economy mostly hope to get rich quickly so they don't care about any losses they experience. On average, most of them never think about choosing to invest in Bitcoin or anything else, they will only gamble because gambling is the only fast way. to get rich and be able to change their lives quickly.

But the facts are not in accordance with what they expected and in the end when they feel addicted they will waste their money and become poor so they forget about their family and even their wives and children, it all comes back to their mentality, if their mentality is still poor then they will forever be like that but If they are mentally successful, they usually know how to be successful.

Non-wealthy people have a lack of education in finance and investing, and they are more likely to see cryptocurrencies as a scam, as this is the vision that many governments are laying down through television propaganda. They have a stereotype in their minds that investing requires a lot of money, and they do not realize that gambling is more risky than investing in cryptocurrencies.

Gambling has taught me a lot. One of the conclusions that I have made for myself for my experience in gambling says that you can not be confident in their predictions a hundred percent as luck in this area plays a very important role. I believe that such conclusions have made many gamblers. Even if I was sure that my bet will play I would not put on the line all that I have unambiguously. I decided for myself that I can risk only those money after the loss of which I will not blame myself.

796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Still not a safe practice even if it works on: September 14, 2023, 09:12:01 AM
There are other casinos that do not allow others to use a VPN because it is against their policy and rules on the platform. But other gamblers are stubborn; instead of following what is forbidden, they will still do what they shouldn't. So what often happens in the end is that when they withdraw their gambling winnings, they end up in their account's treasury because the gambling platform will see and know that there has been abuse or dummy accounts, which they can't do anything about.

Everyone who uses VPN when gambling should realize that it can play a cruel joke if he wins a large sum of money. I try not to use VPN during gambling sessions, but since in my country it is impossible to use free Internet without using means to bypass blocking, I almost always work with VPN. Sometimes it happens that I have already entered the casino and made the first bet and only then noticed that I use VPN.

I'm not quite sure why we have to fight the adrenaline rush when it's a perfectly normal body response to external stimuli. I agree that you need to be able to hold back during a loss, but adrenaline has nothing to do with it, because this hormone is aimed at mobilizing all the forces of man to do something important, and is not designed to make you gamble. If you think that during an adrenaline surge the probability of winning increases, you are deeply mistaken. The adrenaline rush is very good during a fight because it dulls the feeling of pain.

I believe that gambling should primarily bring pleasure to the gambler. Of course, the financial component is not the least important, but since gambling is a high-risk entertainment, you should always be prepared to lose your money. At least over time, the gambler begins to get used to the fact that losing is as natural as winning, but at first it has a very strong impact on the psyche. So yes, gambling affects the mental state of a person, especially if he has a heightened emotionality.

I fully support your point of view and I experienced it first hand the last time I went on vacation. When I went on vacation I thought that I could spend my entire vacation without gambling, because in the place where I went there was a lot of entertainment that I wanted to try. I'll be honest with you after two weeks of active vacation, I still put money on the deposit casino and played slots, because I really missed it.
