781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the cat did it [Karpeles found 650 000 BTC] on: April 13, 2015, 01:09:26 PM
Just a information: if 650k BTC that previously not in the market suddenly pushed into the market, then the price must drop by a lot!
Absolutely, the price would probably crash. The market barely handles te 3600 btc that ar mined each day let alone 650k bitcoin. But this doesn't look like a trustworthy or official source.

I got the payment but my BIT-X account balance is 0 so far? Should I wait for at least a confirmation?

Yes, you will need to wait for at least 1 confirmation.
I have sent you a message Marco.
783  Economy / Economics / Re: US Dollar collapse in 2015? (2) on: April 12, 2015, 10:12:07 AM
I don't  think that the US dollar will collapse in 2015, it really looks stable at the moment and will probably surpass euro within 6 months. Although it will probably collapse within a decade because the federal reserve just prints money in hope to stabilize the US dollar, and in longterm that would be terrible.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and closing tax havens on: April 12, 2015, 10:06:19 AM
Shouldn't they be scratching their heads on how to tax anonymous bitcoin users?

Only a fool believes bitcoin is anonymous. Bitcoin users have all their financial history on the internet for anybody to see
Exactly bitcoin transactions are easily traceable and open, that's why the DEA agents were caught, using  the blockchain tracing back their bitcoin usage.
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and closing tax havens on: April 12, 2015, 10:03:55 AM
It's not on their radar yet. It will be if Bitcoin gains mass adoption and we need to be prepared for that time.
Yep , once bitcoin is more popular and more often used there will be more regulations and laws come regarding bitcoin taxation. But for now its just a matter of time.
786  Economy / Speculation / Re: They say it can't be the miners on: April 12, 2015, 09:50:40 AM
To be fair, many miners ops have been burnt by the slowdown, depending on the time at which they invested etc

Via Tuur Demeester on twitter, this mining company sold $8m worth of bitcoin in Q1

http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20150410/pdf/42xtjqm13dqkt2.pdf
Many mining farms have halted or completely stopped the mining since the price is low. Although many farm still mine bitcoin  and take a loss which will probably lead to a mass dumping once the price rises again.
787  Economy / Speculation / Re: They say it can't be the miners on: April 12, 2015, 09:47:29 AM
i doubt they are dumping 3600 coin every day, unless the network is 100% chinese, and this isn't true at all, more like 50%

and you missed early adopters, which can dump a bigger amount than just a tiny 3600 coin

i don't think miners are the problem at all
Probably early adopters and darknet markets are dumping the huge amount of coins daily.
788  Economy / Speculation / Re: where is bitcoin future going ? Loosing hope :( on: April 12, 2015, 09:23:18 AM
Here we go, 300$ - 260$ - 250$ - 230$(now) - 200$(soon), there is no indication that Bitcoin will going to be rising significantly.
It's really hard to tell where bitcoin price will be heading and as I it looks like it won't rise in the near future, but you never know  Grin
789  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sold at 450$ ? on: April 12, 2015, 09:21:21 AM
I sold some around $630 last summer but it wasn't much. I also sold around $520 and from then I kept buying small ammounts.
790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Support is holding, they said on: April 12, 2015, 09:05:06 AM
You sound like a buttcoiner, anyway the bitcoin environment will survive and the price doesn't really matter. Buy support will come once mass adoption arrives and this will probably be soon since so many useful services  like openbazzar and darkwallet will soon to be launched. Bitcoin wasn't, isn't and won't be dead any time soon.
791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Double digits in 2015? on: April 12, 2015, 08:58:18 AM
Anythign is possible with bitcoin. If we see double digits, I'm buying a fistful of coins.
Like he said anything is possible for bitcoin. Back in 2009 none believed that bitcoin would hit $10 and now look where it is, bitcoin speculation is really exciting because everything is possible.
792  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: April 12, 2015, 08:46:22 AM
Bitcoin won't be dead until the trading volume hits $0 even then , there is a huge infrastructure build around bitcoin like companies, services,VC etc. As long as bitcoin is trading and people exchange goods and other monetary value there will always be a price and a trading volume for bitcoin.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: State of Bitcoin Q1 2015 (by CoinDesk) on: April 12, 2015, 08:12:05 AM
Interesting statistics, 2015 will be an interesting year of bitcoin and bitcoin startups in general. Many angel investors and VC firms are really interested in the bitcoin technology and want to grow it .
794  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-11] CTUK: Coinbase set to be the First UK Regulated Exchange on: April 12, 2015, 07:40:41 AM
Interesting market approach by coinbase. They try to control and dominate the bitcoin space and bitcoin exchange business, like facebook tries to control the social media space. Coinbase will probably launch  more exchanges after UK worldwide. This will be interesting.
795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you would be able to get back in early 2009, what would you do? on: April 12, 2015, 07:33:40 AM
I would buy as much bitcoin as possible and build a huge mining farm. I would focus on controlling the biggest mining farm with around 45-50% of the  total hash rate. I would also invest in bitcoin related startups and businesses.
796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if YOU could put 1 feature, change, whatever, into the Bitcoin protocol? on: April 12, 2015, 07:28:21 AM
the only thing that i want right now, is a faster confirmation, i'm not sure how the miners feel about receiving a block every...let's say 1 min(like doge)

but it would require reviewing the block structure and reward....too much of an hard fork i guess
Exactly, faster confirmations times would make bitcoin more useful for real-life usage and other services.
797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Tyrone Bitcoin Video on: April 12, 2015, 07:22:22 AM
LMAO Tyrone is hilarious  Grin I remember him when he made mostly videos for dogecoin.
798  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Buttercoin on: April 11, 2015, 10:19:10 AM
The name was just awful. They got outcompete by other exchanges like coinbase, bitstamp, circle etc. They didn't invest enough in marketing and didn't interact enough with the bitcoin community. Their overall strategy was really bad implemented and that's why they had to shut down. In my opinion it wasn't a surprise at all that they shut down.

Do you have a portfolio of example works you could present ?
800  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoins exchanges willing to accept Pakistani nationals? on: April 11, 2015, 10:02:32 AM
Hello all my new Bitcoins friends.

I live in Karachi, Pakistan and new user to Bitcoin and have the following 2 questions please

1) I have a friend who owes me converted $50,000 USD in PKR which he currently holds overseas.

He proposes to first buy Bitcoins equivalent in PKR and then deposit them into my Bitcoin wallte

It is my responsibility for converting these Bitcoins in my Meezan Bank personal bank account (denominated in PKR currency only).

Could anyone recommend an exchange that will be willing to work with Pakistan national? Not many overseas companies like to deal with Pakistanis for obvious reasons so I would be grateful for any recommendations

Also, anyone who has actually done this, please confirm if the exchange would be willing to convert to Pakistan Rupees first before sending into my personal Pakistan account? Or must I first open foreign dollar account?

2) Secondly, when my friend sends me Bitcoins, from my research I understand that the Trezor system is the safest way to hold Bitcoins

Is this still correct information as per my understanding?

Thanking you all kindly for reading and helping and fellow Bitcoin newbie.

I would recommend itbit.com and Kraken they have a good support team and fast delivery times, they also have low fees for international wire transfers. Also take a look at http://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/  maybe you will find a different exchange that would fit you. Generally the accept customers worldwide so from Pakistan as well, good luck !
