781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm done with altcoins on: June 02, 2018, 05:51:33 AM
It is sad but it is the truth. If ever Bitcoin will eventually fail the taste of the world's population, the reasons would definitely include this concern of yours. Instead of pooling over their wisdom and expertise, some crypto developers and experts prefer to make their own version of the coin they want to succeed. And the worse thing here is that in doing so, they are pulling Bitcoin down, making a bad name out of it.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins have potential to grow? on: June 02, 2018, 05:06:25 AM
Which altcoins have potential to grow like Bitcoin?

I don't know, I cannot tell. Perhaps there will be altcoins that are already operating right now that will reach the market cap of Bitcoin but it will happen at least half a decade from now. It is not easy to climb to the highest spots. Look at Ethereum, the number one of all altcoins. It is now performing quite exceptionally but it remains to be on the second rank. Bitcoin is destined to rule the crypto world.
783  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does bitcoin have value? on: June 02, 2018, 04:22:40 AM
Bitcoin has value because the people say so. That is the ultimate end of the answer to such question. If we are going to take a more detailed and closer view of Bitcoin, it is really nothing and it represents nothing. However, there is demand. And this demand that I am talking about is strong and international. It is the reason why the value of Bitcoin soared to very high grounds. What Bitcoin can offer are features that are considered revolutionary.
784  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where does bitcoin end up this year on: June 01, 2018, 12:12:54 PM
Bitcoin is starting to climb up again. Where do you think think does it end up by the end of the quarter or eventually by the end of 2018.

Bitcoin is always climbing up and down the charts. That is always the work of Bitcoin insofar as the price is concerned. That is why there is always a better timing in terms of when to buy more and when to sell. Trading happens because there is an up and down movement of Bitcoin's price. However, as the historical pattern is showing, there is an overall growth of Bitcoin's price despite its volatility.
785  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price of bitcoin rapidly going down on: May 31, 2018, 07:34:08 AM
The news in term of development are actually decent, with LN getting closer to a release, so I think this is just temporary. Smiley

The downward direction of Bitcoin's price is really temporary. It will not last long. You and I know that aside from a digital cash or a virtual currency that Bitcoin is designed to be, Bitcoin is also treated by so many as a commodity. It is being traded every minute in huge volumes. Therefore the price movements of up and down are always understandable and highly temporary. The Bitcoin market is very volatile.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin acceptance on: May 31, 2018, 06:47:03 AM
You can pay with Bitcoin in several stores and even restaurants here in Germany. Are we the only one who have this?  Huh

I came from the Philippines. And even if my country is still a developing country, I am proud to say that we are as advance as Germany and other highly developed countries in terms of Bitcoin and crypto acceptance. While the country did not directly pronounce any open support to Bitcoin, we have already Bitcoin ATM here and a good number of restaurants, stores, etc that accept Bitcoin.
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will banks ever offer bitcoin deposits? on: May 30, 2018, 08:39:20 AM
This is not totally frivolous or impossible to happen, even if the banks, or most of them, are definitely against the rise of Bitcoin and the whole of cryptocurrency. We do not really know that some other open-minded bank owners are already contemplating on opening up Bitcoin deposits in their system. It's just that they cannot easily do that since they are following strict measures and that they might be branded as a ragtag member.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My BIGGEST cryptocurrency mistake on: May 30, 2018, 07:50:20 AM
December 2017 during the high of highs, I made a huge mistake, I allowed greed and fomo, ignored my gut and bought into NXT because I was chasing Ignis airdrop. The coin has since tanked and I still have not received the airdrop. Nxt is probably 80/90 down.

What is your biggest cryptocurrency mistake???

I have also known a person or two who were unfortunately baited to buy a lot of NXT because of the Ignis airdrop. They have the same complaints as you. But I am not saying that was a scam. The airdrop was true.

I don't have a very huge mistake in crypto. I can say this because I am not losing so huge an amount due to some critical decisions. I lost a little when I bought in the month of June last year. The market was beginning to go down at that time after a huge pump earlier.

792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Blockchain Survive Without Bitcoin on: May 29, 2018, 06:51:38 AM

Blockchain Technology was driven to fame by its application on Bitcoin Gold due to its encryption that has been considered hacker proof. Bitcoin has been used as a reference to its success, providing a secure network for users.

The question however is, can blockchain succeed without bitcoin?

You are acknowledging the wrong coin. Blockchain technology came into existence and became known worldwide because of Bitcoin and not because of one of its forks which is Bitcoin Gold. Bitcoin was basically seen as a peer-to-peer digital payment system whose transactions are recorded in a public ledger which is called blockchain. From that point on, blockchain was slowly imitated by a lot of crypto projects and even non-crypto.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Depending your future in bitcoin... on: May 29, 2018, 05:35:04 AM
I think bitcoin is really a good investment for now, but I don't think it is a good idea to put all your investment in bitcoin or crypto currencies since it is unpredictable and very risky to take. For me it's still better to start your own business than depend your future in bitcoin investment.

What do you think guys?

100 percent agreed with this. I have also read somewhere a post of a legendary or hero member that advises us not to invest too much in crypto, to the extent that you will completely be crippled in terms of your finances in the event that Bitcoin or crypto will fall down. It is good to invest in Bitcoin but it is not good to invest everything to it. Diversity of investments is always the advice of financial experts.
794  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Isang Magandang Balita para sa mga Pinoy on: May 29, 2018, 04:52:42 AM
The Philippines’ Coinvil

While Coinbit, Jibex, and Kenniex have already launched, this next exchange has not. South Korean blockchain technology and services company Glosfer and Coinvil have agreed to collaborate to build and launch a cryptocurrency exchange in the Philippines. Glosfer will build the platform while Coinvil will operate the exchange. Coinvil CEO Park Rae-hyun commented:

"The Philippines will become the largest cryptocurrency trading market that connects Europe and Asia."

For sure aabangan ito nang maraming Pinoy.

Tingnan natin.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy low and sell high is very tough on: May 27, 2018, 08:51:30 AM
When you ask someone for advise they always say buy low and sell high but this is very tough.

What is your strategy for buying low and selling high?

Do you agree with buy low and sell high is very tough?

It appears to me that the very common line "it is easier said than done" is very applicable here in the world of crypto. Buy low and sell high is the best choice of course. That is the target of every crypto trader and investor, obviously because it is where profit is being created. But the question will always be, how do you know that it is already the low or the high that we are talking about? Everything could happen here.
796  Economy / Speculation / Re: Expected predictions on: May 27, 2018, 08:04:01 AM
There are different predictions by different individuals. The predictions for the price of Bitcoin within 2018 range from $30,000 to $80,000. But what is common among them is that they all believe that Bitcoin is going to make it huge in the charts within the year. And I also believe in them. Bitcoin might not reach $60,000, but I am more than sure that it will go beyond $40,000.
797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto VS national currency on: May 25, 2018, 07:37:02 AM
I found this expression on the news channel about the crypto currency: "Anyone who will try  to buy coffee for cash in 2023, runs the risk of causing laughter from the seller, that he does not use crypto currency."
how do you think, is it realistic? Can a crypto currency replace national  money?
I think that it's possible, but it will take more time.

It is not only a possibility that cryptocurrency will one day replace our respective national currencies. It is more of a direction, an inevitable possibility, rather than something that may or may not happen at all. But, just like what you said, it will take a little more time. I cannot ascertain whether by 2023, cryptocurrencies are already the preference of the majority. It may take a later time for crypto to fully replace fiat currencies.
798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do people get their bitcoins? on: May 24, 2018, 04:18:37 AM
Hey everyone,

I was wondering how most people here receive their bitcoins? I personally handle in virtual items in video games. (CS:GO, DOTA 2, PUBG) I sell these items on a marketplace and receive BTC for them I also join a online casino now and then to try and make some easy BTC!

Do you guys just invest in bitcoins and not touch them? I personally use mine on a daily base for purchases / trading etc..

Let me know i'm interested!  Grin

Tom / Yaking

I have several sources of Bitcoins. I do crypto investments. The biggest part of which is Bitcoin. Aside from that, I also participate in bounty campaigns. I translate whitepapers, announcement threads, bounty threads, one-pagers, and other materials. I also join signature campaigns. These may be altcoin-based but I do exchange them to Bitcoin after hodling them for some time.
