the wallet is reeeally slow.. like 30 mins for open it and 30 mins for close it ( if you are lucky)
I re-down loaded it and and it caught 2 connections for about 34% of the headers and now is back a zero and has stopped syncing. Is this normal? Should I just keep it open and wait? It's a little unusual that the number of nodes decreased. Try manually adding a few nodes and I'm sure it'll work. The initial sync takes quite a while due to the size of the Blockchain (which is necessary to achieve DGB's fast confirmation speed) Simply try restarting the wallet and open it back up. |

i just heard some rumors from other crypto enthusiasts, they said that some sort of a japanese banks are trying to invest on DGB. how true is this though? is this just a FUD to make people panic buy on DGB?

We have no knowledge of this nor have we had any contact with any Japanese banks. That said, DigiByte is open source and decentralized. Anyone can participate in the network. |

First off, thank you to all the long term DigiByte supporters and a very warm welcome to all the new DigiByte community members here! Things have been very hectic the past few weeks.
This sudden rise caught all of us by surprise as much as it did some of you. If you look at the history of other major crypto markets as well as the history of DigiByte you can quickly tell things can get volatile very quickly. So please make sure to take the time to fully educate yourself on cryptocurrency trading and blockchain technology in general. And please note we do not answer speculation questions or make forecasts or predictions. We are here to focus on the core technology and the true innovations and applications that blockchain technology allows us to build.
We are actively working to expand the team and get better organized. The recent Citi Tech 4 Integrity Challenge was a great event for DigiByte! We were told that we were one of the finalists in the competition and it was a tough decision for the judges that day. However, the competition is not over yet. The main awards will be concluded in July where over 60 awards from several of the main partners will be awarded.
We made several great connections with some very large companies. However, please understand it takes time for things to move forward with such large organizations. Please do not expect anything to happen overnight.
Most blockchain businesses are flooded at the moment with a backlog of news users and messages. So please understand we are working to get through the 1000's of messages we get each day across all our social media including Twitter, Telegram, Reddit, Email and here and more. It is a very exciting time but there will be growing pains!
Finally, a few housekeeping notes. All recent orders on DigiByte Market will be refunded due to the recent price fluctuations. We also want to point out the dev team is not the organizer of the meme contest or the developers of the Minecraft server. So please direct your questions toward the appropriate organizers of those projects. Thank you all again for your continued support. As stated, many, many times over the past 4 years. This bitcoin pump is another sign we need an exchange where it's possible to buy straight into digibyte from fiat. Stronger coins like ETH etc are still affected, but generally less so. I'd buy more DGB on this dip, but having to buy btc first is an added risk I hesitate at given that btc will of course drop again (today's rise was too quick to sustain).
People can help make this a reality my contacting their favorite exchanges and asking them to support DigiByte. Already done  Personally I think Kraken is a good target. They continually add coins, verification process is quick and easy, and they have a wide variety of cheap fiat funding options. As I've said here before, it's a prime time for them to capitalize on Poloniex's poor customer service and non-existent verification support (3 weeks and still waiting). |

The Citi hype is great and all but www.digibytemarket.com is taking DGB and (afaict) not giving the products ordered.  Not only is the core functionality broken, the Zendesk Help feature is broken as well, so I can't even complain to the management!  Doesn't look good for DGB when the Market and Gaming platforms have been abandoned yet persist in harmful failure modes.  The platforms are not abandoned. At the moment we have limited resources but we are working to bring more on board, however, this does take time. Please let us check into this. Thank you, everyone, for your patience. |

Any body know how to install the .dat backup file to the mac wallet
This is how to properly setup and backup a new OS X wallet. https://digibyte.co/digibyte-os-x-v6142-wallet-setup-guideTo install a .dat backup on OS X do the following. 1) Enable Hidden Folders View on Your Mac 1) Open Terminal found in Finder > Applications > Utilities
2) In Terminal, paste the following:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
3) Press return
4) Hold the ‘Option/alt’ key, then right click on the Finder icon in the dock and click Relaunch.
2) Open Finder and Navigate to Library -> Application Support - > DigiByte 3) Replace the existing wallet.dat file with your backup We will be adding this guide, as well as a recovery guide to the guides section of DigiByte.co here shortly. Along with several other guides we have been working on. |

There is a known bug in the time estimation. Please ignore it, for the time being, it will be fixed in the next release. On a PC with average hardware & internet, the initial sync will take about 3 hours. Welcome to the DigiByte community! |

i SENT DIGIBYTE TO MY WALLET BEFORE IT SYNCED.
WALLETS NOT SYNCING. I HAVE DOWNLOADED THE APP ON MY PHONE .
CAN I GET MY DIGIBYTE TO THE APP EVEN THOUGH I SENT IT TO THE DESKTOP
APPLICATION THATS NOT SYNCING?
Your phone wallet is completely separate from your desktop wallet. Let them both finish syncing up. Make sure you are on v6.14.2 for Core Wallet and have updated latest Android wallet from the Google Play Store. |

Hey guys, I searched and couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for anywhere, so I'll ask it here.
When Digibyte came out I was a pretty big believer in it, was mining it for awhile with 2 3xr9 280x card machines. I was able to accumulate about 800k to a million or so ( don't remember exactly how much)
Anyway I pulled the hard drives from those machines and set them aside. Now I see DGB rising from the ashes and I'm wondering what's the bet way to go about getting back into my wallet since it's been several years since I was last in it. I still have the dgb wallet address, pass code, and all the files and folders (.wlt file, etc)
What do you think would be the best way of updating things and getting access back to my dgb?
download the new client and just drop the wlt file in the new folder after it syncs?
I'm unsure how to proceed because I don't want to screw it up lol
any help would be appreciated.
1) Make sure everything is backed up 2) If you have the old DigiByte exe on there, simply download the latest wallet and follow install instructions: https://github.com/digibyte/digibyte/releases/tag/v6.14.23) if you Install a new wallet, simply swap in your old wallet.dat file after you initial open wallet and it will rescan and recover your funds. |

Hello, Can someone tell me how to make a paper wallet? Or could i type any command in my DGB desktop wallet to show me the private key? that would be the same? Thank you.

We really want to help spread digital currency in the gaming world. If I understand this, the Digibyte platform is getting tokens from where? Curious where the money is coming from to pay people to play video games This was paid out of the developer's pockets but the service has been shut down until we can get regrouped and the site updated. |

To those mining Sha256 on DigiHash.co, please confirm you have received your payouts. Someone was mining with a malformed username string that tripped up the payout system (maybe intentionally or maybe not). There was a backlog of 286K DGB which has now been paid out and we have updated the payout worker to check and better validate user names. The other three algos have been paying out as expected.
A note to the new people here, we have been working on the DigiByte protocol, wallets, and services for over three years now. As mentioned many, many times we are in this for the long haul. Coming here and bringing toxicity, negative attitudes and insults does not do anyone any good. While we try to follow this thread daily we are not glued to it 24/7. If we did, we would not get anything done.
Remember we have many social media channels to keep on top of, and more often than not the quickest way to get ahold of us now is on the Telgram chat.
