Did cryptsy update to multi-algo yet?

I tweeted Big V  Wink Grin
We have tweeted at them also. We have also sent them an email but have heard nothing back from them. In the past they have been prone to ignoring us.

Thank you for doing this, we had not had time to get to it yet!

Please let us know if we need to add more updates pools & exchanges to the list above. We just updated the website as well.

MintPal is the only exchange so far to confirm they have updated!
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DigiByte has officially switched to multi-algorithm mining! Mandatory Update! on: August 18, 2014, 09:53:54 PM
We would love to get more MultiAlgo mining pools set up before the hardfork @ block 145,000!
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ on: August 18, 2014, 09:40:47 PM

Would set up a nomp pool for all the algos too. shall we share some common settings, like which ports we use for each algo for example ?
This will be up to you. The main rpc port is used by default when the algo is specified in .conf. You just have to make sure all ports are different for each pool on your NOMP setup. Also you will set 3 different ports for different share difficulties (NOMP does this for you by defaut.)

@digibyte

what will be happening if I open my 2.9.1 wallet after block 145 000?

It will not sync with the correct chain as it will not recognize blocks from other algos.

Retweeted Smiley

Awesome, My friends and I will definitely be mining there
Awesome! That is great to hear! Smiley
1027  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ on: August 18, 2014, 09:19:03 PM
Will Digibyte have its own pool for all of the algos when the rollover happens?  Do we have anyone creating a pool for the non-scrypt algos?
Yes, we are working on an official  "Development Fund" Pool where you will be able to choose any of the five algos to mine (NOMP). The 2% fee will be used to fund DGB development now that the pre-mine has been exhausted. (We are now 0% pre-mined).

We just recieved word MintPal has updated to 3.0.1!  https://twitter.com/MintPalExchange/status/501472569472843776

Being worked on as we speak. No need to download as once we upload to play store it will automatically prompt the update on smart phones. IOS wallet in development. Possible release in a couple weeks.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: August 18, 2014, 09:09:20 PM
issue with the website:
I see this a lot of times (not al the times)(also with digipay)
We will be upgrading the DigiByte & DigiPay sites in a few weeks. This seems to be a CSS bug. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Jared, are we still going to keep 21 billion total supply of Digibyte?

Go Digibyte Go Jared Go Community  to the mooooon

Yes, we are keeping the 21 Billion #. With the increased block timing (30 second target, probably will be 45-60 in reality (from our testing)) we should arrive at max coin supply in 15-25 years. Thanks for the support.

use 3.0.1 can'y sync wallet ..    windows 64

stop on 3 hours ago ..

anyone this?
This is normal & will be fixed with this update. When blocks are delayed more than a few hours the wallet will not say it is "synced" even if it is on the most current block. Once again this will be fixed after block 145,000.

May be an issue with the windows wallet, I just restarted it to check if mine was having the same problem and it says
that the block chain was corrupted again and must be rebuilt.

I'll let it do its thing, then restart it again to see if I have the same problem.

edit
Yep, same problem again, rebuilt the blockchain and synced, I then shut the wallet down and restarted it and once again, I have to rebuild

Try deleting "blocks" & "chainstate" folders in AppDate/Roaming/DigiByte. Backup wallet.dat first as always.
It's very interesting to see Litecoin go under $4 and Darkcoin under $2! Time for DGB to take over!!

We have a great opportunity to emerge from the back in the next few weeks.

Grin +1
Go Digibyte Lets get Digipay soon...
A lot of progress is being made with DigiPay LLC right now behind the scenes!

Waiting for bittrex to add digibyte,i think that will bring some good volume!  Grin

Lets have everyone started contacting them to get DGB added! Tweet at them & DigiByte account & we will re-tweet.

What miner do you have there ?
Is it maybe a bitcoin miner -sha256 asic- and you try to mine scrypt with it ?

Nah...  they're Zeusminers...  I mine DGB using the normal P2 and standard pools....  just stopped for a bit while the algo gets sorted out so I'm selling Scrypt on Nicehash for the moment.

@ Digibyte, as I PM'd I had no issues compiling on Debian, but I'll build another VM with Ubuntu and do a comparison. What version are you using yourselves? I prefer headless SSH only...  but can use a GUI too if need be.

We used Ubuntu 12.04 to compile everything. But we have also set wallets up on 14.04.
@Digibyte

I think it was when you were in Japan that we discussed how many transactions per second the blockchain could handle.  If I remember correctly I thought it was 7.  Has this been increased in this new version?  What other fixes were made in order to prepare for the micro-transactions?
We have not increased this from 7. However since DGB will have a new 30 second block target in theory this allows us to handle 20 times the transactions of Bitcoin. Bitcoin = 10 minute blocks. So DGB has 20x the blockrate.

Hate to keep asking the same question on wallet upgrades, but do we just run the installer and let it overwrite the existing contents of the old version? Do we need to delete any app/roaming folders or specific files?

YC

Yes, simply run the installer. No need to delete anything unless maybe you installed the 3.0.0 wallet before v3.0.1 was released.

After you guys go multi-PoW, will the block reward stay at 8000 DGB per block solved? And you're going with a 2.5 min/algo approach, right?

I'm not sure if you guys will be able to handle that much new currency being minted every day at 8000 DGB @ roughly 30 sec/block. That's basically doubling the current coin production.

I'll still mine some though Smiley

Oh, and guys, tomorrow I'm gonna be working on getting P2Pools up for the new algos. I'll let you all know here & on reddit if I succeed. I'll try and pick ports that'll make sense. I'll post links to the github repos when I'm done. (I've set up p2pools for the Myriad algorithms, you can see my work at http://birdspool.no-ip.org:5567/static/MyrNodeHub.html. You can bet that you're gonna get a similar hub page!)

Do you guys have an Insight block explorer? Rich list? If not I may be able to work some of my MYR magic for you if you're interested Cheesy
No we still have the 0.5% weekly reduction. When we first created DigiByte we wanted the blocks to be as fast as possible. But we found that anything quicker than 60 seconds caused many issues with a single POW algo. With multi-algo we are able to make transactions even faster for merchants as we originally intended. Thanks for your support & we are looking forward to it!

I've installed wallet 3.01 OSX, like 2 hours ago,  and still it's not synchronizing  Undecided

If the blockchain is sluggish (few hours since last block) it will not show that the wallet is synced even though it is on the most current block. This will be fixed @ block 145,000.

Bloody solo mining  Angry I'm sure once I get it working I'll be happy...  but at the moment I'm confused.  I got the Linux wallet compiled on a new 64bit debian VM I built specifically for this. All synced up without issue...  so one success! So when I point my miner at it I get the following, which on the surface looks ok...  it's seeing it and appears to be talking, I've removed the IP address and username, although probably didn't need to:

Nothing scrolls... no info...  just sits there....  but I think that's ok too...  someone wrote on another forum that the problem with solo mining is you never know it's working until you actually solve a block and cgminer tells you Huh
Code:

We are still waiting digibyte ratio of bitcoin 1:1.  I don't know when will that happened. Based on that the current value should be $.53 cents per digibyte.

I still believe in Jared ( Digibyte dev) and his team hard work and this community and soon we will get where this coin real value is.

+1 Thank you for the support. We are very much looking forward to the future of DigiByte. Smiley

★★★★ Introducing DigiByte v3.0.1 MultiAlgo★★★★
Mandatory Update before block 145,000

Mining pool, exchange & block explorer operators please notify us when you have updated your DigiByte wallet. It is very important we get everyone updated before block 145,000 as at that point sending coins from a v3.01 wallet to a v2.9.1 wallet or earlier could result in problems.

As always, backup your wallet.dat before upgrading! (File -> Backup Wallet -> Select location to save to)

Note: It may be necessary to re-index/rebuild the chain after upgrading & or delete the "blocks" & "chainstate" folders in the AppData/Roaming/DigiByte folder on Windows.

Why did DigiByte switch to Multi-Algo mining?

1) To update DigiShield and speed the blockchain back up to normal.
2) It is the most fair POW mining option out there (embraces ASICs & GPU miners alike on an even playing field).
3) More secure than a single POW mining scheme (much harder to 51% attack).
4) Speed block timing up to 30 seconds to facilitate faster merchant transactions (ties in with DigiPay LLC development).
5) Tap into used Bitcoin ASIC miners market. (Use those old ASICS to help secure the DGB blockchain)

If you can think of another reason multi-POW is better, let us know!

MultiAlgo DigiByte.conf & Options

You need to set the algo you want to mine in the digibyte.conf:

Code:
rpcallowip=*
rpcuser=yourusername
rpcpassword=yourpassword
server=1
daemon=1
txindex=1
debug=1
algo=scrypt
rpcport=14022
port=12024
addnode=216.250.125.121
addnode=74.208.230.160
addnode=74.112.204.202
addnode=46.4.32.220
addnode=198.27.109.88
addnode=54.204.36.33
addnode=198.41.184.140
addnode=144.76.94.182
addnode=95.85.50.188
addnode=162.159.240.70

Once multi-algo mining kicks in you need one of these settings in your .conf to solo mine whichever algo you choose:
Code:
algo=scrypt
algo=sha256d
algo=groestl
algo=qubit
algo=skein

To appbox & other Chinese speakers,

We received these recommendations for the Chinese translation of "DigiByte."

數位幣 (Digital Byte Dollar)
位元幣 (Byte Dollar)
位圓 (Same as above, but coz the 2nd word's sound is same as yuan in china, so I short form that)
惠圓 (Bargain dollar, same sound as above, but make it sound attractive)
迪智幣 (just pronounce as digibyte, same way how bitcoin is called 'bi ter' coin in china)

appbox recommended we translate "比特币" to "极特币"

Any other opinions, we want to get the translation in there so we have a unique translation for DigiByte in the wallet.
