What caused some accounts to be locked for trading and buying of shares?
I didn't see any reason or announcement about it.

Does LCC have anything like PoP mining?
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are options to mine a profitable crypto on my computer. on: January 14, 2021, 05:55:22 AM
Anyone have any suggestions for Storage based mining?
Something like Storj or Sia or Burst?
They all have a few things I don't like, I loved Burst but the market share is soooo small.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RNG] Ring: Widest ever initial distro | Proof of Play | CPU Mining | Hive on: January 14, 2021, 05:53:02 AM
what's best in hive mining - 2x100 or 1x200 ?

It doesn't matter if you have several hives of small amount or a single hive with a big amount, only total amount counts.
Cause when the wallet try to find a hive block, your swarm of all hives works as a single unit.

But, during hive mining I experienced that too small hives don't give good result. Try to make your hive size of at least 100 dwarves.

nak333, your english not so bad, so write the tutorial right here

Okay, I will write soon.  Wink

Thanks for helping out! I was gonna reply and then saw all your clear and detailed replies, much better than mine haha.
Looks like difficulty is starting to go up, but still easy to solo mine a block with even a 4 core processor compared to pretty much any other CPU coin I have tried.
I miss being able to do that with Cryptonight and Monero lol

I got it synced up, but I see a lot of this error:

block num for reward
16:53:12.353 TX: THROW on Block=69014662 TxNum=0 : Bad block num for reward
16:53:12.354 TX: THROW on Block=69014662 TxNum=1 : Bad block num for reward
16:53:16.101 =============== DeltaStat: 1601 ms  !!!!
16:53:18.430 TX: SumHash:DeleteTX on Block=69014663
16:53:24.500 TX: SumHash:DeleteTX on Block=69014665
16:53:24.517 TX: THROW on Block=69014666 TxNum=0 : Bad block num for reward
----

Does that mean I have something setup wrong?

Welcome to the Forum of us old schoolers Smiley
Their responses like that do leave a lot to be desired.
The ability for them to:
1. Payout less than advertised or normal payouts for similar hardware is ok.
2. A month of downtime is acceptable downtime with the only compensation being a small break in electricity fee for less than the time it was down
3. Random price limits and or no trading of shares at all for some miners. For example S17 is MAX 50 USDT and Z11 is MIN 5.00 with basically everyone wanting to sell at that price.

These three things need to be addressed in a way to reassure clients big and small that HashNest has some interest in calming our nerves with their recent irregularities.
Especially as things are looking very good for miners, even small miners can attract and scare away whales(I personally talk to 1 on here about this in private)
Even taking a small hit on overall profit margins will make up for it with a larger flow of client cash coming in to buy up miners, fees from withdraws and share selling, and being able to charge a higher price per miner or electric fee.

A type of Service Level Agreement spelling out compensation for the above issues when they persist would be amazing.

In the S4 and S5 days, I never said a single bad thing about Hashnest as they were perfect! Not a single issue.
However as others have said, since Bitmain no longer owns it, it has been a bit rocky.

I do appreciate all the work you do Hashnest! Please appreciate our feedback as well!
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / 2021 Storage based coins you can mine? on: January 12, 2021, 05:56:37 AM
Hello! I remember BURST being one of the first coins I think, to offer POW via how much hard drive space you had.
Then Storj and Filecoin and such.
Filecoin seems to be gigantic in trade volume, though mining it literally requires super servers with 128GB of RAM or more, correct?
Unlike BURST and such where you could use a Rasp PI and some old HDDs.

I also learned about IPFS being the hot new thing, which seems to be sort of like a new way of doing things.
However I am not sure what the "true" coin is for it, or if that's like asking about what coin Cryptonight uses(being an algorithm, many coins of course)
Looks like that might be the way things are going?

What are you using your SSD and HDD space for, and with which projects?
What do you predict will be "the winner" to actually compete with dropbox and such.

Thanks!

What is the best method to update from a previous version? I'm still on the previous version.
I found the update.js and ran that and it seems to be good.
Any other steps beyond restarting the computer after using that script?

Seems to be taking a long time to syncronize as well, and the jinn-db.zip also takes quite some time as it averages 2.5MBps

When will GPU trading market open up?
And any ETA on exchange for btc to usdt or swapping all shares to btc or their own coin ?

Where did the S19 go from the Lucky App?
That was fun tossing 1 or 2 coins into.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RNG] Ring: Widest ever initial distro | Proof of Play | CPU Mining | Hive on: January 01, 2021, 06:04:25 PM
amount e.g. 1k - 5k dwarves

wow ! where can i get that amount ? there is no exchanges
mining ? no, thanks, for the same reason
my CPU time is much expensive
I started off buying 10 dwarves and it worked out for me, I feel there is no minimum.
Solve a few games to save CPU time, and then use that to buy dwarves any Global Index is under 100.  The lower it is, the much better return probability you have.
I bought a 100 dwarves recently for 1RNG , 3 times, and all of them turned green before the 10 days was up.  I know have enough to buy 5 sets of 100 (5 RNG), so almost double what I put in.
That was at a global index ranging from 49 to 81.
I feel this is a great balance of investment, puzzle solving, and CPU mining.

Any plans or ETA on opening up a way to purchase from the marketplace with something other than USDT, or at least a way to convert it like we use to via trading?
Any plans or ETA on removing the 5 USDT limit on Z11? Seems you're missing out on tons of trading fees as it's been 100% stagnant since this.

I will say payments seem to be back in order now, though the previous downtime prevented a large amount of profit and now difficulty is much higher making them worth even less.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RNG] Ring: Widest ever initial distro | Proof of Play | CPU Mining | Hive on: December 20, 2020, 08:26:31 PM
I've gotten a bit better now haha.
What are the Private ones versus Public? Can only I play the Private game?
They are also worth a good bit more than Public.

Also this month Hive Mining with Dwarfs has been very nice, some parts getting 2x back what was invested.
Hashrate has been quite high at times, wonder who or what from or just general interest.

Very nice!
Seems like for me no bots play as I get tons of time to play.  However I have about 1% the skill you do on those games so I never win haha, not due to timing, but brain power.

Anyone getting full payments now for Z11 and such ?
Does the maintenance fee seem to be reduced properly?
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RNG] Ring: Widest ever initial distro | Proof of Play | CPU Mining | Hive on: December 06, 2020, 06:15:07 PM
@PeaMine  If you want to chat with Devs then you need to visit Discord server. You will find them there.

Optimal for me is number of physical cores + half of that number = total mining threads for best results.
Yes, for best result always use half of your total threads.

Has anyone been able to complete a PoP Mining block?
I solved lot of PoP blocks when bots were not playing PoP games. I didn't check for while that bots are still playing or not.

I don't think they are as they are available for a long time, and the target doesn't seem impossible but still too hard for me haha.
97  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: December 04, 2020, 03:02:19 PM
To all Z11 and U6 users,

Thank you so much for waiting with us, we would like to express our appreciation for your loyalty by offering some great discounts on the U6 and Z11 maintenance fees! After relocation, Z11 and U6 rigs are online now, payout will be allocated tomorrow. You will also enjoy a discounted maintenance fee at US$0.06/kWs till Jan 1st 2021.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas!
Love from HashNest ❤️

So 39 days offline for Z11 no revenue... 28 days of discounted maintenance fee. I have no words

I agree, way too little, way too late.

Plus the days are still counting on downtime as they are not yet up or paying out.
Don't forget we were only getting partial payments for over a month before the total downtime.
So longer downtime and even shorter discount period on maintenance when or if they ever come back online and fully payout.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RNG] Ring: Widest ever initial distro | Proof of Play | CPU Mining | Hive on: November 29, 2020, 08:24:44 AM
If anyone would like some coins to try things out let me know as I have some to spare.

Has anyone been able to complete a PoP Mining block?
I am not the greatest at puzzles and have gotten close, but have yet to get a high enough score.
Though I am sure if I practiced enough or did one with a low enough required score I could do it.

Is there a timeline for The Rialto ?

Seems like I get about 70-100Kh per thread, up till about as many cores, then it starts to go down.  Doing max, aka all virtual cores too, still results in a higher amount but only by a few Kh.
Optimal for me is number of physical cores + half of that number = total mining threads for best results.
I haven't seen it affect Hive Mining, which still seems to come in waves for me and not 100% random.

When Hashnest will fix daily payout?Huh

No reason for them to fix it, in their clause they don't have to provide a certain amount of payout, regardless of downtime cause or reason.
I think the Z11 crowd and many others just crowd funded Hashnest's expansion with the new 598 and Z15.
I've lost so much money with them, that I only advise those to stay away.
I use to bring them lots of clients back in the day when they were officially bitmain ran.  When the new owners took over, things got shady.
It was a good run though, I should have listened to others and cashed out, but I guess that's what I get for trusting a cloud mining service.

When was hashnest sold?
Last year:
https://www.scmp.com/tech/start-ups/article/3003517/inside-rise-and-fall-and-rise-crypto-mining-giant-bitmain
They basically split up and Bitmain claimed Hashnest is no longer a subsidiary or backed by them.
From my memory within a few days a few Tokens started to appear on the Wallet, which to this day I still don't know what they are there for as they aren't for mining and can't use it to buy things with.
