81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can't mixed cons be deposited into a centralized exchange on: May 12, 2024, 01:25:16 PM
But, the exchange might ask you to verify your account, after you complete it, the exchange either allow you to use their service, confiscate your coins or return back the coins to your address.
Is there at least one known case where the exchange returned coins (and did not confiscate them) because they did not pass the AML check?

Generally though, if you don't want your centralized exchange account to be blocked/locked, just don't. Just sell the coins through peer-to-peer (Binance P2P, etc) as P2P buyers/sellers generally don't care about your coins' history.
I've never used this option, but is there really no check here?
82  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: uni-join & tunbler io down? Websites offline, new regulations & raids happen? on: May 12, 2024, 08:51:05 AM
What is that retarded fucker kruw doing, apart from being a son of a bitch, promoting coinjoin if it is going to end on June 1st? Or did I misunderstand?

Now he is running his own WabiSabi coordinator. Well he better have a large anonymity set if it is going to be any useful.

It was expected of him. He earned his reputation here the hard way, so why not use it in the best way.
What can go wrong if you add one line of code (linked to its server) to your wallet config file?

4. They should reduce their greed level
In order to recognize your own greed level index, a lot of analysis is required, and it isn't easy to analyze yourself.
The one who can do that can certainly control his greed.

5. Always avoid such website that promise huge profits in returns.

Check rule number 2 I mentioned  Wink
2. If the profit offer is too good, it is most likely a scam.

fastestFee: 15 sat/vB
halfHourFee: 14 sat/vB
hourFee: 13 sat/vB

I still don't understand what the matter is. Currently, the fee is under 15 sat/vb, but someone still sends a transaction paying 351 sat/vB https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/636c08bafb3c171ae968ce50ca11596bcada56e02ed5d2fe9a3f97fa6d0f5a38
Is there any reasonable explanation why the fee is so much overpaid even in this "quiet" time?
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake website on: May 11, 2024, 05:26:54 PM
My question is that how can someone dictate a fake website? because is getting too much, is there anyway the comonas need to know things like this if there is any.

1. If you don't fundamentally understand how something works, then it's not for you, and you shouldn't invest.
2. If the profit offer is too good, it is most likely a scam.
3. Always do your research, if that's not enough, read number 1 again
86  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: May 11, 2024, 02:54:43 PM
I like this forum and enjoy engaging with people on it, and will not really change how I do things even if all signatures are removed.
It might also help the forum a bit since people who are 'posting to post to make $' will fade away.

Activity on the forum would certainly decline. Believe me, no matter how much you enjoy the forum, it's much less fun when there are very few real discussions. Such is the case on Altcoinstalks, what is worth reading is written by (no more than) 10 people.

Quote
Obviously, my view is a bit skewed since I am an American and the amount I make here posting is a very small percentage vs. what I make in my job.
In poorer countries the dynamic will be different, since $100 +/- a week can make a substantial difference in the quality of someones life.
All campaigns together have no more than 1000 people. It is not a significant number that changes the economy, only a few individuals significantly improve life through them.
87  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: May 11, 2024, 02:25:47 PM
Campaign managers don’t seem to care at all. Many campaign managers that are active here are also active in the shitcointalk forum and they only manage mixer campaigns there as far as I know since no other business (exchanges and casinos) use that forum for advertising.

So we are still looking at the mixer ban through signature campaigns. Is the usefulness and quality of a service really seen through whether it has a signature campaign on the forum? The conclusion is that any service is not worth mentioning if it is not on Bitcointalk (without sig. cam.), also other forums if they do not have active sig. campaigns are completely irrelevant, right?

Isn't the bigger problem that a certain type of service is completely excluded from the forum? All for a reason, because there is no certainty as to how it will be legally interpreted and what the consequences could be. A possible scenario starts from the fact that everything is allowed, up to and including prosecution.
If someone here sees a problem only in signature campaigns, then, in fact, we don't have a problem, in the end, this forum can be complete without paid signatures.
88  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] eXch.cx - Automatic Exchange | Sig Campaign | Up to $120/W on: May 11, 2024, 11:31:58 AM
My transaction is stuck..
Payment in monero 10+ confirmations, exch shows me 0.
It's probably better to ask in their official ANN thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577207.460
Or try to contact their official's exch
89  Economy / Reputation / Re: JollyGood's Low Quality Assumptions against me on: May 11, 2024, 10:26:29 AM
OP, in the post with which you closed the previous topic that dealt with this matter, you said that you now saw the whole matter a little better. Then you appear with this wall of text, which probably no one will read. wtf?
I don't know why you thought this was some kind of courtroom, but you've probably been told that before, nobody will deal with neutral feedback on your profile. I would even rather agree with Jollygood's feedback, you know the forum too well for someone who has only been registered for a few months. But I'm not interested in going into further investigation, as long as you behave yourself.

This thread was created because the last thread was disrespectful, unprofessional and included irrelevant text. It was also when I first noticed and used my instinct reactions rather than calm down and think about the situation logically. Apologies to anyone who had to read that.
And this thread is also quite irrelevant, you will probably need to apologize again.

my advice, forget about all this, and find something more useful to spend your energy on. It will be better for your mental health.
90  Economy / Services / Re: BlackJack.Fun | Signature Campaign | Up to $90/W on: May 10, 2024, 10:07:25 PM
Why have so few applications been approved? That is, all other applications were rejected, is that right?? Do I understand correctly? It seems to me that you need to write more specifically so that it is clear to us!

First, it is not so few, if you open the spreadsheet you will see that there are about 25 members in the table.
Next, each campaign has a limited weekly budget and participants adjust accordingly. There is no campaign with an unlimited budget that would cover the financial needs of all forum members.
Is it a little clearer to you now?

What is being more specific? Do you want him to write the names of the rejected participants as well? No manager does that, if you don't believe me, open each signature campaign thread and look for the posts from the manager where he announces the accepted participants and you will only see that they mention the ones who are accepted. That's how it works, it's nothing new or surprising, I believe.  Smiley
You obviously misunderstood him.
91  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non custodial wallet is not for the weak on: May 10, 2024, 09:55:06 PM
Not at all. I'm not trying to give reasons why people need to choose custodial wallet over non custodial. I'm just trying to say it is a wallet people don't need to toll with, because its possible to  take wallet privacy granted. I'm only trying to let people to do the needful.
You are following a strange line and suggesting that people might be safer having someone else keep their money than they themselves.
So the problem is that you are your own support (always available), and it is not a problem when the support is on another side and puts you on hold for weeks. In most cases, there is no big difference when using custodial and/or non-custodial wallets, equal knowledge of transactions is required. I don't know where the fear of managing your funds comes from.
92  Other / Meta / Re: Are no-KYC services banned? on: May 10, 2024, 08:46:48 PM

Unfortunately, their opinion is just as important as the opinion of anyone here on the forum. We all know where these crazy rules come from, it's just a matter of how we got there

93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crackdown on mixers and privacy tools is ineffective: it may even help criminals on: May 10, 2024, 08:15:04 PM
One important method to help with that task are atomic swaps, a trustless method to exchange funds coming from a blockchain for funds on another chain. Traditional atomic swaps still provide a link between the transactions on different blockchains. But a few years ago a new kind of atomic swap was developed which uses adaptor signatures and is already used in Bitcoin-Monero swaps. This method makes the swap private.

I don't think that swap platforms will be left without supervision either. The SEC has already initiated a lawsuit against Uniswap developers, they will ask for models to stop this kind of exchange
https://www.coindesk.com/consensus-magazine/2024/04/11/the-secs-suit-against-unswap-is-an-opening-attack-against-defi/

what if i told you governments are not cracking down on mixers due to a big 100% concentration on criminals
It's been clear for a long time that the fight against crime and money laundering is just an excuse for closing down mixers and similar services.
94  Other / Meta / Re: Are no-KYC services banned? on: May 09, 2024, 09:22:11 PM
So I'd lean toward banning this particular service even if they didn't meet the mixer definition. "Make your dirty coins clean" is not something that typical no-KYC exchanges advertise.
So basically, talking/marketing about cleaning coins = banned.

No-KYC service *can* be used to clean coins but doesn't publicly talk about this = ok

Is that it?

This confused me too, but based on what I saw with them, they are based on cleaning tainted coins. Check their overview of service
The next thing, they completely took over and copied the exch design, which casts a lot of doubt on the honesty of their service. The biggest part of the code is identical.

After all, I certainly wouldn't trust them and they seem like they are a high-risk scam. It is probably better that they are removed from the forum.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What I experienced since the past two days now on: May 09, 2024, 08:05:53 PM
I was so shocked because I don't look at him like this, I was still planning to go to a nearby secondary school with this neigbour of mine and teach students about bitcoin, I have already talked to their principal and he said he will give me a date when I can come.

Honestly, I consider the majority of those who go to schools or organize seminars, or even online schools to educate beginners about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to be scammers at some point. I heard parts of such stories a couple of times and was appalled at how superficially everything is presented.
I guess you learned your lesson and that just because you know something more about the whole thing doesn't mean you should go somewhere and preach about it. You had a scammer right beside you without knowing it.
Otherwise, not everyone with a wallet and some satoshis in it is an investor.
96  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Duex.cash — instant exchange with advantage on: May 09, 2024, 07:50:05 PM
@duex.cash
  • This is the second instant exchange in the past month that's asking a very high fee [BTC0.002 or roughly $125] to process Bitcoin transactions while the highest priority at the time of this writing is less than $2 [such things should be fair and dynamic]!
  • The minimum amount for USDT is way too high [$1.4 to $1.5k]!

It seems as if they will do all the transactions manually, so they want to be sure that they will cover all the costs of the transactions, between them and the client and between them and the third party.

I saw that the exchange is compliant with AML/KYC BS, but there is no information about the exchange itself. Who is behind it, is it even registered anywhere as a legal company? So, I need to trust someone and give my information, while all I know about them is the domain name.

99  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalMonero/Agoradesk to be taken down on: May 09, 2024, 07:19:20 PM
By the way, what would happen if Bitcoin was anonymous at protocol level? Just imagine Monero being Bitcoin, what would happen? Would they ban it?

Maybe it would be better if Bitcoin were banned in the US. Then they would only deal with their citizens, and not act as a global judge. The value of Bitcoin would certainly go a little slower, but there would be more freedom.

Meanwhile, FTX will return money to most customers less than 2 years after catastrophic crypto collapse.
