81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BM1384 Pod Miner plus trade-in/recycling - an interest and feasibility poll on: January 19, 2016, 01:50:39 AM
Well, the new test pod seems to not mind 350MHz at all. I'll probably take it home with me and see how it likes running in a bit higher ambient temperatures than we have in the shop today. The buck's staying cool, and after 12 minutes I'm only seeing 0.04% errors at 775mV average node and 350MHz. I mark the S5 controller and fan at 5W, and the board at a shade under 65W, which 350MHz for 8 chips should run about 154GH which puts this guy at a solid 0.42W/GH at the board alone (not counting fan and controller). Pretty decent. If it runs well at 350MHz I'll make a couple more. The only trouble's going to be I need to warm up the robot room because the cold has thrown off its calibration and also my solder paste appears to work best when it stays about 80F. So probably have to figure that out Wednesday. I know I'm way behind on those already, sorry. But the good news is the new test pod is super tidy. All signals are brought in through a 4-pin header and there are only 3 jumper wires on the board and they're all under 2cm in length. It looks really nice compared to the last one. And the buck chip is heatsinked better too.

you see I, I .. I got this problem, you see, all I see is words on words, but no pictures. how does one tell a story without Pictures?!

also, not to be a nazi about it, but can I has paragraphs? its my dyslexia that makes me read about 3 lines then starts following "rivers" along the text.. then I'm like all "Shit, what was I reading?"
82  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: January 18, 2016, 06:01:05 AM
Its not a scam, sorry folks. I just got my shipping date for 11 pcs M20 + upgrades.
I also knows what will be released from Yesminers end this year, but cant tell yet, just that all those miners out right now is obsolete from all other companies, even Spondoolies, Bitmain, Avalon and bitfury. I got pics from Yesminers of the Units and will post here when they arrive, if they do ;-)
Chips are from TSMC who also makes the KNC chips and only 1 other company besides Yesminers owns the right to the chips. The NDA should be liftet any day now and im waiting for this to be liftet.
2500 Miners is going to be produced totally and next production schedule is set to end April.
Lets see when the miners arrive how they perform.... if they arrive ;-)

I can tell you a few things Mr. Xircom.  First is that you are a shill for Yesminers.  Oh, you want to know how I would know that? Well let me explain, Xircom has approx 44 pages of posts and about 38-40 of those pages are shilling for LTCD.  Then the account was quiet for a while and now you are promoting Yesminer.

Something else I noticed was that in the first 42 pages of your post history not 1 time did you post in the Scandinavian Section but now you seem to post there frequently, about Yesminer.  Peculiar Huh

So, it is possible that I am wrong but I bet you that Xircom is a bought account and nothing more than a shill for Yesminers.

to add, as doggie pointed out, old photos are old, so therefore proof of ownership of new hardware is false.
83  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: January 18, 2016, 01:21:56 AM
Not just the bold numbers but also its displayed on their website!? So now they have pool there or what  Roll Eyes

its a... bold ... strategy? lololololololz
84  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Yesminer M20 / M10 on: January 17, 2016, 10:51:22 PM
My number is 170 and 311.

Legal wise we have a signed contract with Yes miner and Volker Stuider made by Yesminers and our layers. This is only a test order from us and if they perform as promised they will be our generation 4 miners in our farm.
Still if this is a hoax, its pretty damn good one :-)

well, from someone just popping, with pictures of empty boxes, and a screen with a singe big bold number on a website, nope, I'm not sold. once one get in the hands of someone that is well known to test items, and not pay out of the ass for them, then I may be convinced
85  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 17, 2016, 09:18:26 AM

Those GH are "not real" just by looking at WU-probably just controller confusion. Even at 23Gh/s WU should be above 330.

oh i know, it seems to be the controller using all the data from the asic (or the asic just spitting everything, forgetting to filter out the bad hashes, or out of sync with its cores, mixing up the data), and just giving the software whatever it gets.. and that was only running for about 3 minutes without a fan to get that result, since mine is overclocked and all that..
86  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 16, 2016, 01:17:33 PM
I can't recall if I saw the issue I'm having before on this post but searching hasn't yielded any results.

One of my Compacs has been running for about 10 days straight, more or less in a group of five.  I've kept them at 150MHz until about 2 days ago and ramped them up first to 160MHz and the 170MHz the following day.  After showing HW errors at 0.01% in about 4 hours I went back down to 165MHz where they ran for another 14 hours or so.

When I checked again at that time, HW errors was in the K range and steadily climbing.  CryptoGlance showed the Compac hashing at a rate over 100GH/s and the status light on the Compac was rapidly flashing.

Initially after pulling the Compac from the USB hub I have found the voltage at 4.99 - 5.00, current draw at 0.22 amps, and V/Core at 0.630V when on standby.  Plugging it back into the hub with cgminer running, the status LED continues flashing rapidly with HW errors at a corresponding rate.  I tried turning the V/Core pot down as well as up to approximately 0.750V with no change.

I was wondering first if there is anything physical I can try and look at and failing anything simple and/or obvious, if I could send it in for inspection and possibly repair?

Thanks in advance.

If you go back a little ways, I've managed to get my test stick to go in that hyper mode, the issue I think was, it got to hot, and the controller got confused, simple little trick, fan! Wink

Well, I'll attempt to recreate the "issue" and I'll get another screen-cap. I thought it was funny watching the little thing pulling 150GHs, I was waiting for smoke to bellow out!

Since the thing is sitting on a EEEPC701, to much voltage pulled would shut the system down, not make it pop a fuse.. I can see the green light dropping intensity when voltage starts getting pulled..

the best I got out of it.. pot to the max, 380Mhz burning the eeepc701's volt regs!
87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: January 15, 2016, 01:06:30 AM
Yeah no worries, I just PMd him. Once he replies Ill get him to check the thread. As far as quantity goes, for now I wanted 2. But if we weren't to order for a few weeks I may get as many as 6 or so.

AJRGale did the Australia group buy but I'm not sure if he has any left to hand out.

Just got back to Rokz, since 2 people haven't piped up about the ones they've ordered I think I can restock them and cater for Rokz. Worst case is, they demand I get them one, I'll just give them one or 2 of mine, or get them something equivalent.

I'm OK if you drop the Part B for me, I don't want to burden you with that.

DE and HK was used as fall-over for the ddos, then solo1 was used, I remember a soloplus when the solopool started to come back, but I swapped it out to the HK one, since I didn't see any info on "soloplus" name.

If it isn't counted, no matter, I'm not going to jump up and down over it, if a block is cracked in the mean time or my spot was given to someone else, since things were not counted.

None the less, my hashes were there helping, little the amount they can..

I've noticed that the pool stats have stopped logging my entries since 2015-12-27. probably about the time I swapped to the HK solo, after them DDoS attacks.
93  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: December 30, 2015, 05:07:19 AM
I had a thought about the possible bigger (say 9mm or 10mm) chip and the heatsink mounting, how does a heat-spreader (mentioned back in the past, you didn't like it dew to extra cost) sound for that? i'm happy to pay an extra $15 (be about that price to mill up the copper) for 802mm by 5mm chunk of copper bolted on top of them chips, to mound a cpu sink on..

The way I see it, the price on that pod will change dramatically thanks to the possible cost of the chips and components, so this pod could be just $50 or $150, maybe more if you're unlucky (like me and price differences between us and au)

If not, its going to be an extra cost to do a custom heatsink, even though you have been mainly aiming at reusing heatsink hardware that is available these days (you looked into S1/2/3, Rockminer, New-Rockminer, U3, CPU sinks, etc)

As for the pegs, i was thinking of it for the backside heat-spreader that wes mentioned, since the pegs are at the same size as the body pans and made of copper, so heat will move though that better then vias and copper on the board, covered by solder mask.. but yes, $5 Each for them pegs are expensive.

Buy yes, that's my thoughts, I'd be interested on what you say..
94  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: December 29, 2015, 11:00:33 AM
would the thermal pegs I once mentioned be useful in such situation?
eg, make one hole for the belly, solder the peg in, its only connected to the bellies power plane and the sink..
95  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience BM1384 Project Development Discussion on: December 27, 2015, 06:02:04 AM
since Bitcoin is a Proof of Work coin, here's some proof of work.

Here you can see the new thing with 8 chips. I haven't debugged the buck yet so it's still running off the hacked '53 but that's okay. Shouldn't take long to work it out. Comm lines are run straight into my hacked S5 controller. I'm not sure what's up with this guy, if it's comm noise or what, but it doesn't get full speed. Ran overnight at 150MHz (should have seen 66GH) but only regsitered 52GH or so. Now it's set at 300MHz and I should see 132GH (or at the 80% metric set by the previous test, 106GH) but I'm only seeing about 87GH. It broke 100GH earlier but I think it's getting tired. Not sure what's up. But it's running. I have found one error on the board, I forgot to level-shift the chip reset coming out of the microcontroller, but it's hashing which tells me all the worrisome and complex parts are pretty much right. My level shifters are all good. Still need to test dividing PLL LDO voltage but I'll worry about that after the local buck is working.

Merry Christmas, chumps.

lookie at that gorgeous thing! its a 1st step, once you get the buck bolted down, and get the controller talking to the chips and auxiliaries (temp sensor in the middle yes?) all you need to do is retool for the next line of chipsets to work with.

I think I might go back to them oddballs of alternate crypto-currency, litecoin isn't worth it per-hash/per-watt, them other ones I've never even bothered with other then the now defunct yacoin.. Bah! time to dump my coins into BTC-e and run a random off the shelf trade bot!

Did you notice the scrypt usb miner project announced recently? (The Futurebit Moonlander) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1248914.0

I'm getting one to play around; however as any usb miner it's not for actually getting a ROI. But I guess it could be fun mining something where there's a slightly higher chance of actually hitting a block sometime Smiley

yep, I wanted to buy some, but they sold out
99  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Dec 11 to Jan 11 Sidehack Compac Stick pool club latest setup. on: December 22, 2015, 01:14:35 AM

Yup, massive network growth was totally intended and planned for - that's why difficulty adjusts as it does.  If it wasn't intended then bitcoin would have been broken a long time ago.

I don't think anyone back then could imagine the amount of hashing horsepower we have now, not without speculating "quantum computers and bitcoin" hypotheticality.. none the less, we are climbing to the Peta i ment ExaHash/second..

Just asking !! anyone having issue getting the latest batch to work with BFG 5.3 to 5.4.1 direct to the PI or in windows ?. by direct i mean plugging into the PI it self . I have tried all different setting with BFG without a hub with a Hub, it just won't pick it up with BFG , BFG will pick up the first stick, i bought, or batch 1, if that was batch 1.

I cant say here, I don't have a good SD card reader to add a new OS on my RPi-b.. all o know is there is only ~150mA available to them ports without bypassing poly-fuses.

gekko-CGminer will work with both batches, if I compile it in minera or command line.

IS there a setting or was it made different this time around and bfg sees batch 2 different ?.
just wondering, i can use gekko-CGminer. other wise !!!.

these setting in windows with the right driver for BFG , on a few different PI types including a RPI2 and RPI b and RPI with different Os's etc .

Code:
-S all --set compac:clock=200
-S compac:all --set compac:clock=200

-S antminer:all --set antminer:clock=200
--set compac:clock=x0b83 or others
--set compac:clock=200

The only other setting i haven't tried is

Code:
 --set device

forgot how to use that .

even did

Code:
-S compac:/dev/ttyUSB0
-S antminer:/dev/ttyUSB0

there was one other way to use

Code:
 --set device

i forgot how to .

the
Code:
 --set device
Is actually

Code:
 --device|-d <arg>

the argument should be the same as -S?
just brushing up on my BFGMiner right now..
