It can't stay like this forever but while it does we don't have much to talk about in this thread.
The flatness is actually what dragged me back. This tight range has "huge move" written all over it, when it finally breaks. Really big squeeze happening. Predicting direction is impossible, but bias is probably to the downside, given that last breakdown and, well, the last 1.5 years of price history.  Down forever, line on a chart etc  well a trend is more likely to continue than not, so let's go with that. i have some bids for long term coins way lower than this. on with it! Referring to my own thread no trend continues forever. Prices are now extremely low and simply moving sideways is enough to break the trend. My guess is we either get some bullish news to propel us up to the high 2xx's and s definitive break of trend, or our friends who have neen hammering the price try one last setup and dump tens of thousands of coins trying to retest 160 and put in a lower low. Given the last attenpt was six months ago I think that would have a reasonsble chance of being very heavily resisted and would be risky. |

We seem to be full steam boring ahead right now. Another month or two of sideways and things will start to look up technically.
We are 13 months from the halving. Less if more hash power comes online. From next month the countdown will have begun.

possible trend reversal this weekend? Upward? It hasn't gone down or up... It's stalemate. The fork talk isn't over but that isn't happening any time soon. Price has gotta go somewhere. What reason for it to go down after this brief recess? I just sold so I assume that means it will go up now.  Considering that both the fork and the halving will happen in the next year, It will go nowhere but down/sideways in 2015-2016. And although the current development discussions/actions are very important and productive for bitcoin while at the same time entertaining for the already established community, the uncertainties that they bring are keeping away the serious investors/big businesses and prevent or slow down the adoption rate considerably. Ok I have to admit I thought this would be a lot more bullish for the price if bitcoin because it's a safe haven for big investors who aren't that tech savvy to get in & get themselves a piece of the bitcoin pie.
I know it's still very early days for a new business/corporation but I can't help but admit that yes, I'm disappointed.
Come on GBTC prove me wrong, do something positive to the price ASAP.

I'm slowly getting worried that even though BTC will perform very well this year it will not be because bitcoin is so awesome and its opponents suddenly start to see the light but instead because some large scale shit will happen that brings down the conventional markets. When bad things start to happen they will happen all at once. Yes your bitcoins will be worth millions of dollars but at what cost? at what cost?
The world's major powers (USA, EU, Japan) have never been more united in keeping this carnival going. I'm not worried about a 2015 collapse. If USA enters another war they will collapse. And things are bad in middle east and in other parts of the world. And the debt is over 18 trillion dollar, so I can't say that US is doing everything to keep the carnival doing forever The US, UK and Japanese debts are an illusion to a certain extent, because a significant % of the debt are owned by the respective central banks. Thus 30-40% of the debt is circular and is just money printing. That is just what we know about. Don't forget foreign central banks buy other countries debt as well. Think about it |

I'm guessing it's a matter of days, they aren't the only one who have been shifting massive amounts of btc to the exchanges, hence my prediction.
But you aren't very good at predicting bitcoin prices. You have been calling for a crash 'very soon' for months. You also sold your bitcoin at ten dollars before the price rallied to 1200 dollars. For some reason the words 'contrarian indicator' come to mind! |

Also something i noticed... People keep repeating that at every price level. If it does drop like i predict you and many others will probably just say the same; "well it's looking pretty dimm right now, i'll wait for it to drop another 25% to buy..." That's part of how we arrived at this low value in the first place. You have wrong for 6 months and(speaking of repetition) have predicted 80 of the last two selloffs. You are up there with Nagle (arguing bitcoin overpriced at 2 dollars..shortly goes up 500X) in terms of making legendary bad calls - selling your coins at 10 dollars then watching the price rise 120 fold. Fuck me that must sting! |

i am waiting on the chinese panic. What is the Chinese panic ? I'm not sure, but I know they don't wake up until about another four hours. If they wake up and find the price has dropped they might start panic dumping and make the price crash further. I know that horrible feeling when you wake and find out the price went down while you slept. Meanwhile the price is in the same 3 dollar range all day.. |
