801  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / What does Power Limit % do? on: September 21, 2012, 03:02:03 PM
I set to 20% on all my cards. Is that bad? lol
802  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Bottom card is 7 degrees lower? on: September 20, 2012, 03:33:08 AM
dunno haven't checked
803  Bitcoin / Mining / What's your hashrate at? on: September 20, 2012, 02:38:16 AM
Got 2 more gh/s coming on the way

Current:

804  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Bottom card is 7 degrees lower? on: September 20, 2012, 02:32:03 AM
I guess it makes sense right? 7970 x 4 ref fan speed at 55% Voltages at 925mv

Also how do I make it so I can copy and paste what's in the black box w/o taking a screenshot then uploading it online?

805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC mining machine, announcement & pre-order start. on: September 17, 2012, 02:54:15 PM
I'm interested in buying one Smiley
806  Bitcoin / Pools / 30k accepted and 160 rejected - is that good or bad? on: September 16, 2012, 11:06:11 PM
I saw a screenshot of some guy's miner and it was like 60k and only 6 rejected...

ragingazn, try this that I suggested in your PM:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/r7jys0

You will need to restart after it finishes.

Doesn't work for me Sad

Did you read all the way down on that thread? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=103636.msg1137780#msg1137780

Yup... did everything...
12.8 catalyst
2.2.3 MSI AB with DLL
edited config file in MSI AB
Bars not showing up. Can't change anything in AB

you delete the 2 file in the profile folder?

Yes

When asking these questions, you need to give a little more information. What cards? OS? driver?
Ah right

7970s / W7 / Catalyst 12.2

First, I'd update to 12.8.

Second, CGMiner can only clock the memory 150MH/s below whatever the core is running at. My 7970 runs at a core:1180, so CGMiner can only clock the mem to 1030.

However, MSI AB can be tweaked to lower your memory to whatever you want. You need MSI AB 2.2.3, but you need a DLL file from 2.2.1. See this thread for more information. I run my 7970 at core:1189 and mem:375. I could go lower, but I lose hashrate if I go to low on the mem.

file is removed. Do you mind reuploading?

Nvm I downloaded from here

here is the 12.4 dll if anyone needs it, took me forever to find it

http://www.multiupload.nl/0BWAFN4UGM

Why does my first card crash (don't even have a monitor installed) when I lower memclock?

edit 2:

I think 12.8 fixed it but I cannot lower memclock below 685 in MSI Burner. When I set in config to = 2 the bars disappears. Yes I did put the dll file in there ;/

edit 3:

wait it's still at 1375 fml ...

Anyone trust Butterfly Lab and pre-ordered? If so do you think it's too late to pre-order now?

How long do I have to wait if I pre-order now? 9/17

I tried to change memclock in CGminer but it doesn't seem to change it. I also tried MSI Afterburner but that doesn't work either.

Do you pay for electricity in your dorm?

No I don't but I don't want my dorm hot and noisy either Wink
815  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Am I doing this right? on: September 14, 2012, 04:38:51 PM
I'm talking about the minimum memory clock that 7970 cards enforce, which is 150MHz less than current core clock. If you really found a way to get around that limitation with just cgminer, I'm sure many would be interested in how you did it. But it's more likely that you just think you are running at 300MHz memclock, while in reality the card picked something much higher when you requested it.

AFAIK, getting around this limitation is only possible with some Windows software that use the cards in undocumented ways. For example MSI Afterburner and Sapphire Trixx (both happen to be made by card manufacturers).

Hmm you're right that's weird... why won't it go to 300mhz? I remember it did a few months ago when 7970s first came out...
816  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Am I doing this right? on: September 14, 2012, 04:09:31 PM
Attempting to downclock 7970 memory to 300 with cgminer is almost guaranteed to not work. Try setting it to 775, and see if the temps drop a little.

Fully understanding DGM is a tough task, but the main points are that it's fair, no hopping possible, and it usually has less variance than PPLNS (which is also fair, and easier to understand).

What are you talking about? It works great for me at 300 memclock.

Also on Eclispse I mine both Bitcoin and Namecoin so I essentially get double the money or what?
817  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Am I doing this right? on: September 14, 2012, 03:41:54 PM
What program are you using to undervolt/underclock?

I'm not underclocking. Running at normal clock.

For memclock I just use:

cgminer -o http://pit.deepbit.net:8332 -u xxx@gmail.com_7970s -p xxx -I 5 --gpu-memclock 300 --gpu-fan 55

To undervolt I use MSI Afterburner

how do I sign up for eclipse?

What exactly is DGM? How is it different from PPS or others?

DGM - Double Geometric Method. A hybrid between PPLNS and Geometric reward types that enables to operator to absorb some of the variance risk. Operator receives portion of payout on short rounds and returns it on longer rounds to normalize payments. [1]

I still don't get it lol

Which pool would you recommend? Also I am using cgminer ATM should I use diablo miner?
820  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Am I doing this right? on: September 11, 2012, 06:00:40 PM
I'm setting up my rig at my college dorm again. I have 4 7970s. All undervolted to 950mv. Fan speed at 55. Memclock at 300. Clockspeed is stock. Each hashing at 550mhs. Temps are from top to bottom 64 65 66 68 during the day. I'm trying to run this 24/7. Running on deepbit ATM. Any tips would be great! Thanks
