801  Economy / Securities / Re: Neo & Bee talk (spam free thread) on: January 27, 2016, 03:07:50 PM
Did anyone see the live chat with Danny?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7ieulSi7zY&feature=youtu.be&t=11m08s

It looks like we are going to get payback after the court hearing on March 31st.
As I understood they had like 9000 BTC that distributes to us shareholders. How many shares total were in NeoBee ? How many BTC per share would we get? That is going to be the question plus if any random roadblock pops up as seem to often spoil his plans.

Sounds like a great deal. I have a bridge to sell you, but you'll have to send the BTC to me before March 31, this thing isn't going to last very long.

What reason would he have to lie though? He could hve just disappeared long ago.

What reason would he have to rob you guys?

Why would anyone trust a word this guy says?

What plausible reason could there be for him to disappear for years without explaining what is going on and screwing over so many people?

Weren't the shares not really shares, just a deal to get a portion of the profits for 2 years, when are those 2 years up? Could he just be showing up and trying to claim legitimacy by getting around that?
I dont believe his intention was to rob. He stands in a very long line of incompetents, who completely misunderstood what it takes to start and maintain ambitious projects. Agreed, he ran like many scammers do, but look what he has done......he is back. How many low-life scammers do that?

I personally dont trust what many people say. Its meaningful actions that count.

His excuse for disappearing is that there were threats to his daughter from an employee, and that the Cypriot police were fabricating evidence/statements, that he was going to have to face on his return to Cyprus, so he stayed in the UK. People can make their own judgement how valid those reasons are.

I didnt hear the immortal question...."why are you back?" IMO, he didnt want his law degree studies (and eventual qualification), to be over-shadowed by what happened at Neo-Bee.

Interesting audio.

I couldnt be entirely sure who is entitled to any payback/compensation here after listening to that, but he sounds genuine in his intentions.
First he wants to pay off the creditors, and then some BTC will distributed to people who crowdfunded this, if ive understood correctly. Cant see it being the 9000/10000BTC that was originally given though??? And the method of refund has yet to be decided. I also dont have much faith that the hearing that will take place at the end of March, will produce the kind of closure that Danny is apparently seeking.
In any event, stock up on popcorn for a 2nd April, full AMA, where Danny has said he will reveal warts n all details.
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: January 26, 2016, 01:49:03 PM

This is the reason of this pump as well in my opinion. Everyone believes it is a pump and dump or a manipulation, but it isn't. Bitcoin is on the bad path and everybody can sense this. I mean people can't raise block size limit even to 2MB, do we need to say more?! Too much self interest, politics in Bitcoin and I am sure Satoshi never meant it to be in this way. After all, this is still all just an experiment.

Many people are hedging their BTC investment with ETH, just in case. I mean look at it, this pump just coincides to begin with Mike Hearn doing what he did.

Another thing about is that many people that missed the train with Bitcoin see ETH as a new chance to get in the game with better entry point than with buying BTC at these prices, since ETH is still very cheap if the DEVs can deliver everything promised.

So nothing weird about this price increase in my opinion! I wouldn't be surprised that this doesn't correct at all. Or it will rise more and then correct. Volumes are another proof of this as these volumes were never seen in ETH.
I think this sums up the situation perfectly.

Offer of 27.5 still on the table Cool
Tis a fair offer, considering. Cheers

Still for sale.
Despite the physical/Casascius coin market dropping off of late, maybe theres a few new ETH beneficiaries out there.   Tongue

Look at Ether, pumped without any visible reason.
But the 'pump' is not followed by the usual dump. Thats not a contrived pump. Thats a rotation of funds from BTC, because of people speculating that ETH now has a better chance of real-world adoption than BTC, while BTC's blocksize/scalability/consensus problems continue.

Have you considered outsourcing your cold storage to XAPO?

Why should they risk that? Giving all the bitcoin funds they hold to another company? I would not know what to think of that. Don't they trust themselves, do they trust others more? And even when, how should they react when xapo goes down by being hacked or a scam happening.

I think it would be an even higher risk which might be hard to explain to 1broker users.
Yep. Only need to read up on what happened to the SYScoin funds, to know that 'outsourcing' is a bad idea.

Is development stopped?

No idea. Last Github entry was on 15 november https://github.com/viacoin

The next maintenance update will be made after the hard fork in January.
And what about 'development'? Should people assume, its not your role to develop a meaningful use for what you created?
814  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: titan bitcoin on: December 22, 2015, 01:53:33 PM
I appreciate your frustration with how Todamont behaved in this thread.  Heck, I'm pretty sure he threatened me personally with physical violence, but its not my place to teach Todamont a lesson in this case.

We're merely trying to fulfill our edict of serving our customer's needs.  A bug bounty is fair in this case, and it also represents a way we can help a customer out of a frustrating spot.  At the same time, it allows us to correctly avoid any implication that we were responsible for his loss.

All customers will get the same treatment.

........  I will be paying Todamont an appropriate bug finding bounty.......

Get him to publicly recognise what a foul mouthed deluded child he has been first, or send it to his favourite charity. He will interpret the payment as vindication to continue accusing people of all sorts of bullshit, otherwise. Just my opinion.
Youre a better man than me.  Lips sealed

@Todamont
You now realise the mistake/s you have now made, and now think posting personal attacks and unsubstantiated accusations will serve your frustration, right? Compound that frustration my friend, with knowing that you have helped Tim/Titan come out of this looking more upstanding and credible, than before this issue. Theres a lesson there, somewhere.
817  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: titan bitcoin on: December 20, 2015, 08:43:31 PM
Ok it's been about a month since I opened this sealed Titancoin. Titancoin claims it was redeemed using the original owner's email address, and that this person has either tampered with the coin in a perfectly undetectable way, or their system has been hacked.

Long story short, they seem to have decided that they are not going to redeem this coin for me, and now they want to pursue a criminal investigation and legal action against.... someone but they are not sure who yet.

All I know is I opened what looked like a perfectly sealed Titancoin for 1btc and I do not have 1 btc, instead I have a protracted argument and scam accusations *from* Titanbitcoin themselves. I would advise anyone who holds a Titancoin to redeem it now, if they can.

My options now seem to be to contact the police, to start a criminal investigation against whoever may have redeemed the coin, and possibly to contact the attorneys general of my state and Titancoin's state, to have them investigated for what I believe may be securities fraud. Titancoin decided to go this path rather than "split the loss" with me and pay me even 0.5 bitcoin.
Make a public declaration here, that Tim has your permission to discuss this/your particular case, and lets hear what Tim has to say.

Circle seems to have ambitions at being a bank. But then, that would go against one of the original mantras for Bitcoin........'Be Your Own Bank'
