Anyone having issues with c-cex loading up properly, prices and buy/sell columns not loading? All other exchange run fine when I use them. ie. Poloniex, BTER, BTC38, Cryptsy, Mintpal, etc...

Same issue here in both firefox and chrome, even while logged into my account.

Works fine after I logged in. Maybe they are doing a protocol change to their site.
doesnt load for me either

It's displaying fine logged it and logged out at my end.

what is plot merge ?

Plot merge refactors the plot files so you have less disk seeking and longer sequential reads. Your read speed will increase and hdd stress will be reduced.

Does this refer to the stagger size while generating plots or is this referring to the mining process?

Would you be able to compile dcct new C plot generator for Windows? I don't mine using Linux, but it would give everyone an equal footing on both Windows and Linux.

Is there still a possibility of a GPU plot generator to be released?

Still no AMD miner, huh? What's the hold up for one? Or just no one wants to code for it?

Do I need to have the wallet running while I pool mine?

Nope. Just need to generate the plots from the address generated from the Burst payout address on the pool page. Then run the pool miner. Just look at the steps for pool mining: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg8448276#msg8448276

Is the difficulty low enough for me to solo with 500GB? Or should I just pool mine?

Pool is better for 500GB, solo you have very little chance with the plot size.

If you don't have 2TB or more, pool mining is better. Right now, it's best to have 4TB or more to solo mine.

He is totally right.

I have a 800GB miner running and it hasn't seen a block for almost 3 days now. But I have 1TB on the pool and its paying consistently.
Once the dev releases the pool V2 the pool payouts will get A LOT smaller so I would start as soon as you can. He posted that he is testing V2 now.

He might have it done as early as today or tomorrow, on Sunday he projected around 3 to 5 days. I think once v2 of the pool is out, more than likely everyone with 4TB or less is going to mine it. Probably people with larger arrays of storage will still solo.

GPU plot generator needs to be released to help speed up plot generation....

24 x r9-290 wait for that  Roll Eyes
I think you will Have advantage only tor a few time until difficulty will adjusted.
I Have 280x rig too but i think is ok now with CPU mining.

CPU mining, this is hdd mining. CPU only for plots generation. I remember in an earlier post the dev said a 280X does 1TB in about 4.6 hours at 200 watts with a gpu plot generator. But he never elaborate if it will be released or not.

I noticed a decrease in share in pool, is increasing the difficulty? Undecided

Just seems like more people are mining on it.

I like to announce:

The Plot-generator rewritten in C!

It has several advantages over the one written in Java:
- About twice as fast
- Support for larger stagger sizes, only limited by system memory
- More efficient memory handling. With just 3GB you can use Stagger size 8191, with 8GB 24000 is possible. Plots with larger stagger sizes are better, as they require less disk seeks to be read.

You need a 64bit Linux environment to run this. Maybe someone can port it to Windows?

How to run it:
Download, unpack (tar -xzf plotgenerator.tgz), compile (make)

Then use the same command line options as with the Java-generator:

Code:
./plot <key> <starting nonce> <nonces> <stagger size> <threads>

You can download it here:
https://bchain.info/plotgenerator.tgz

Cool...Maybe I'll setup an Ubuntu setup to try this out....It would be nice if this was ported to Windows...

At the current price it puts the market cap of this coin at around 50 BTC, now think about that for a second, the most innovative coin in recent memory is sitting at a market cap of $25 000.

- the coin "cap" of this coin is 50'000'000 now and will be 100'000'000 in 13 days.

So someone needed to put ~$2'000 into this coin every day only to retain current price.

This coin brings the innovation in mining, but what it brings to customer? Nothing new. So who would pay $2'000 daily?

You can say the same about every minable coin  Smiley

- no, some of them at least claim that they bring to users (=buyers of coin) new level of security or anonymity, or some speed, or some fun..  But nothing new here.  There is even no data storage for users:

The problem with data storage, is with the current system, anyone can generate the same plot given the address/nonce combination stored in the blockchain to verify things, but if you try to do data storage, not everyone can store a copy of all the data.

- personally I was sure, that deleloper has designed that even before the start...
+1 I said this problem before, and i have asked if there is any future development of this coin, for now, only i know is that this mining method is inovative, but not the coin itself, if not adding some application or advantage, this will be a big problem to this coin, lets say, yes, this is inovative to miners, but one years later, after all coins were mined , what's the advantage of this coin compared to others, others have anonymity, can chat with each other, some can be used for playing game, what 's the advantage of this coin itself,, but when i asked this question, some guys just say it will have more function, but can not tell detailly

Mining innovation is great, but the space usage of data is not. I'm not complaining, it would be nice if the plots had some kind of positive data/application usages. But the biggest thing is, what is the business roadmap of the coin. Cryptos are a business also that is driven by innovative technology. For the coin to survive, it has to have an explicit plan for the business side of things.

no, it makes no sense to use those plots! if i'm a investor, i don't care which way you get the coin, don't care you mine it with gpu or cpu, and for investor, did they need the plots? coin itself is still have nothing innovation to them, and for miners, when one years later, you must delete the plots for they can not mine coin anymore, i don't care what usage of these plots, plots's usage is nothing to investor or to miners. the most impotant thing is the coin itself, its innovation is what investor cares, and what they will take it a long term of investing.all important is coin itself,so if burst want to survive for a long time, new feature of the coin itself must be added

Guess there's where you and me don't look eye to eye, I like the technological side of cryptos. Don't want this to be like LTC and BTC, just be currency only. No one came up with anything innovative as far as coin technology after being mined/minted. ie. Cloakcoin anon, NAV anon, etc.... Innovation in mining is a nice honeymoon, but what's after is most important. In the end, it's the business aspect what most people only care, sadly mostly profits.
I just want to said feature must be added to coin itself, but not added to plots, because investors don't need any plots, it is meaningless to them, coin must have the feature they are willing to invest for it,
i
Putting something on the coin after minting/mining, can be appended any time. But the wasted space usage to mine, just really is wasteful in my opinion and probably a couple IT people would agree in that regard. Regardless, I fully support this coin and hope the best for it.
i also support this coin , but we need a detail roadmap of this coin, right? we can discuss with dev, if he is busy developing poc mining, have no time to think more about this coin, we can discuss what feature can be add and if we have ability, then we can together discuss with dev and to make a roadmap of this coin, right? when the pool finished, have no problem at mining at all, then what's important is coin's feature, when we introduce the coin to miners , we tell them the feature of POC, that is they can mine with hdd, but when we introduce this coin to investors, what we tell them is the coin's feature..right?

Hopefully the dev will get on the business side of things via a PR/business team. I've sent emails and tweets to Coindesk and http://cryptomining-blog.com/, hopefully they consider doing an article for Burst. Also, sent a tweet to http://coinmarketcap.com/ a couple of days ago.

I don't think BURST is of any pratical use

All cryptos can be used for some kind of encryption application, but most are not practical. That's where after mining/minting, innovation is needed.
836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | Update to 1.0.2 before block 2700 on: August 25, 2014, 01:38:57 PM
Like i said at the start, without development this coin will die thats for sure. But we still have the idea and maybe source code so we might get a restart again.

That's not a preferable option, it is an option, but not preferable one. For now, all this coin just needs currently to do now is focus a little bit more on the PR exposure and business side of things. All while concurrently adding more on to innovation side.
