821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Does EVAN DUFFIELD regret instamining DRK/DASH at 100x emission? on: April 23, 2015, 10:43:19 PM
Hey guys

Just trying out some new value propositions, can you help me out?

Monero - "The best-maintained clone of the Bytecoin scam.  Except we are not a scam, but *everything* else is."

Monero - "Instant, private & secure bagholding, for free, anywhere in the world* (*min. requirements: 4 TB HD, 128 GB RAM, MS-DOS, 4 weeks sync time - or use Poloniex / FluffysMonero.com)"

Monero - "Longtime trollin', Endless syncing, Infinite Butthurt"

Monero - "Backed by NSA's Cryptonote, China Botnets, Journalist Devs, Ill-tempered Ork-army community, Poloniex (wait, that's unofficial)"

Monero - "You wanted active development & innovation? F*** You!"

Monero - "If only we had bought DASH instead of our shitcoins we wouldn't be hopping up and down with so much envy we could explode Sad Sad  Undecided  Cry   (this one was suggested by Smooth)

Monero - "The coin that trolls itself"

Should we do a poll?

EDIT: Sorry, wrong place, I just saw all the names and thought I was on the Monero thread.  Undecided

You seem buttfrustrated. Don't worry, you are still in time to get on the winning boat by exchanging your CRASH for XMR. You can always hold your bag and be a nodebait in the amazing system that Duffield created.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I move my cold storage to multisig? on: April 21, 2015, 01:38:14 PM
I've never used a multisig wallet, not even sure what that is.
Does it mean you can create an address, give your address to get paid but once you get paid it automatically creates new addresses? (does this make sense? if that is not multisig then I want to know how to do what I just said).
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this how most people percieve Bitcoin? An NSA honeypot?? on: April 21, 2015, 01:36:40 PM
Most people = the 1% that knows what Bitcoin is (and the 0.00001% that voted on that geek ass website).
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 Million people use Bitcoin today according to XAPO's CEO on: April 21, 2015, 01:08:21 PM
It's impossible to estimate the exact number of Bitcoin users, only a rought estimate can be drawn throught number of transactions,  numbers of exiting addresses, number of newly created addresses.. the answer is somewhere between all that data.
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: boycott bitcoin2.0 scamcoin they are crashing the market on: April 21, 2015, 12:54:41 PM

I don't know about the rest of projects, they don't convince me.. but Maidsafe does. Maidsafe is extremely legit. You need to research more before you throw these accusations. Lol at "internet is already decentralized". How is the internet decentralized if it requires you to hire servers to hosts basically anything? you are seriously clueless. Maidsafe will x10 in the following months, mark my words. This is a, for once, legit project worth investing in.

Might I add, Maidsafe is OLDER than Bitcoin, started in 2006.

Correct, Maidsafe is legit, and a complete different technology, they don't even build on a blockchain. They just used a blockchain-based coin for some crowdfunding, that's all.

The internet is "decentralized" only in theory. The innovation of projects like MaidSafe (and Storj etc) is that they abstract content and services away from physical location and servers (IP addresses and the centralized DNS). I want to watch that one cat video? I don't care if it's hosted on a server called Youtube in California, just stream it to me from other peers, all I need is its ID or a name.

Though I wouldn't say it will x10 in the following months. The risk with MaidSafe is obviously that it could be vaporware, exactly because having been in development since 2006 already. Also their security model is not so well understood and proven to work yet by independent auditors.

Actually their coin plays a big role on their system which is what makes it unique compared to other decentralization systems like freenet. Imagine being able to get paid anonymously in Safecoin because a lot of people use your APP. All of these things are new and unprecedented and twist basic concepts like copyright in new ways.
MAID is literally the only project worth investing big time other than BTC.

Campaign looking good, I like the idea of loyal points, a nice incentive to stay and I like that feel of stable payments (feels more professional). May I join?

828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin and want to play with some... on: April 15, 2015, 06:27:58 PM
I see a lot of people looking for faucets and other ad-click schemes for earning tiny amounts of BTC. I know there are a lot of gaming sites out there with free-rolls and such. What are the reasons that people prefer faucets and surveys over playing games? Seems like a more fun way to get one's first bitcoins. BTC

Faucets take less energy, since its just a click every X time. Games requires focus.
Unless you enjoy the game tho, then its good.
829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to admit bitcoin is a failure ! on: April 15, 2015, 06:24:46 PM
The important question here is: But will you FUDsters come back in 1 0years and admit you where insanely wrong? or will you not come back to accept defeat? That's whats up.
830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is this not Bitcoinland on: April 15, 2015, 06:23:16 PM
Im not sure this is going to work out well. It sounds good on paper, let's see if they can really run a 100% libertarian nation successfully. It will be a great experiment.
831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blocks are really lagging recently on: April 15, 2015, 06:20:43 PM
So this 'lagging blocks' problem is partially responsible for a huge delay I observed on my transaction confirmation? Because there was really like 4 hours lagging confirmation last night... What is going on with the network?
I was waiting for a confirmation last night on Poloniex, and had to go to sleep before the coins arrived.
832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware Bitcoin Users! Is Bitcoin Taxation inevitable? on: April 15, 2015, 06:17:34 PM
I know for sure some people will never pay any tax on their BTC income, nor any of their income. It mostly depends where you live.
It doesn't matter where you live, if your BTC doesn't leave the BTC ecosystem, how in hell will they find out?

For example, you are in a sig campaing, you get paid with BTC. Unless you convert that BTC in fiat, they will never know you own all the BTC you did on that campaing, or doing X job where you got paid directly in BTC, etc etc.

The problems start when you want to cash out for filthy fiat.
833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can I sell a large portion of my Bitcoins at once? on: April 15, 2015, 06:15:37 PM
I would be more worried about finding a bank that won't freeze your funds in the instant your money arrives.  And of course with taxes.
For such big values any big exchange is good for you.

Exactly, thats why you sell very slowly, or better yet, hold until you don't need to sell since you can buy everything with a sky rocketer stable BTC price.
834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to admit bitcoin is a failure ! on: April 14, 2015, 10:59:57 PM
No more excuses / false hopes for yourself, bitcoin is a failure and the downtrend will hit sub $100 til the network stop for negative mining ROI.

Time to accept your losses and the reality!

Bitcoin is not fine and the end starts here:

Why are the same dumb fucks allowed to shitpost FUD beyond belief? They should be contained within the beginner section.
Notice how its the SAME person, and notice how everyone FUDing now will be GONE once the price goes back up.
835  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Beware of third wave feminism. on: April 14, 2015, 10:58:12 PM
Beware anyone positive toward identity politics; revolutionaries always fuck things up for the worse when they get involved with politics.

This picture was always fascinating to me. How was Lenin able to lean at such degree without falling? If you try to imagine his legs which are not shown, I wonder how the feet are placed.

Anyway, OP i think feminism is getting out of hand, but let's not get carried away by hate and end up even worse ffs.
836  Other / Meta / Re: PGP key on: April 14, 2015, 10:50:14 PM
I still need to get my head around this. Seems like a really interesting concept, being able to sign messages and prove its you without giving any more data.
For some reason I see everyone using Linux when they post their PGP.. is there a reason? it always says "Linux" on the PGP thing.
I have a Linux machine for the safe stuff like BTC but usually I browse with a Windows machine. It would be a kind of a pain in the ass if you need to be on Linux everytime you use the PGP, since like I said before I barely use it.
837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you were an artificial intelligent robot, what currency would you accept? on: April 14, 2015, 10:48:02 PM
I would scan whats is the strongest network, and since I would see BTC is the clear world leader, I would join. Can't beat it? join it.
838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An open letter to April 14th, 2018. on: April 14, 2015, 10:41:50 PM
Things will really get interesting when the inflation settles to a more sensible level after future halvings. Ten years and beyond is when there might be some proper deflationary effects if it's still rolling.

Message to future self - look after that prostate. You're not getting any younger.

Yeah, after 2016 things will start to take shape and those that were coward boat jumpers will pay dearly. Bookmarked thread for future celebration and future mocking of all the FUDsters (that will for sure be dissapeared by then to not face the facts).
839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is this the end of bitcoin? on: April 14, 2015, 10:40:36 PM
Bitcoin hasn't even started, we are at version 0.10 ffs, 99% people dont know what it is. Do you even perspective?
840  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: freebitco.in - is it even worth it? on: April 13, 2015, 11:58:36 PM
Focus on finding more lucrative ways to earn Bitcoin beyond faucets, time is money and faucets are a lot of time for little money.
